NASCAR AND RON
I am begging all of you to please go to www.RonPaulRacing.com and donate a few dollars. I have been to two (2) BIG RACES and believe me the people are interested. We spent 3 days in Charlotte and never got a minutes rest with people wanting to know who Ron is after we flew the banner over the races. This is the best chance to show MILLIONS OF PEOPLE Ron's name. Millions not thousands watch these races, Millions are real fans and spend a tremendous amount of money on the tickets, buttons, shirts, hats and all sorts of Nascar items..( note : The Ron Paul Affair on you tube) These people are active, they have the money to spend and are willing to get involved but they have to know about Dr. Paul.
Go to the www.RonPaulRacing.com site, sign up, donate, lets get this car on the track. Davey Allison was one of the greats in racing, his car number was put in mothballs but now we have a chance to bring it back on the track and actually a very good chance of winning the Daytona 500, the apple of every racers eye.
There will never be a chance like this one to shove Ron's name in the face of every one of the MSM. No matter how hard they try they will not be able to stop the talk on air about Daveys number being brought back and there will be Ron's name on that car. Win or lose the race it is a chance to really reach the millions we need to win this election.
Please I can only reach a few people in comparrison to this opportunity. I can drive this RV for the next 20 years and not reach the people one minute on the Daytona Race will produce.
This will take thousands of dollars, and it has to be raised Quickly.
Don't let this pass us by. If you can only spare $5.00 send it on. I don't donate to anyone as I need all the money I can scrape together to just keep on going myself but I am giving $100.00 for this. I can't think of a better place to put the money.
Scanner Scott is the same man that got us into the Charlotte and Martinsville tv shows where we were able to wave the Ron Paul signs which did get on National TV. He is a very capable man, a Nascar employee ( or was until he got canned for his support of Ron) he has the connections to make this happen and has done the ground work.
Donate now Please if you have ever sent any money to anyone before send a few more here. www.RonPaulRacing.com
THIS WILL BE A HUGE HUGE BLOW AGAINST THE MAIN STREAM NEWS MEDIA. THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO IGNORE #28 CAR WITH RON PAUL AS A SPONSOR.
Thank you all for your continued support and trust me I would not lead you astray.. this is for real.. You think the Blimp made news.. just wait for Ron's Name to roll onto that race track..

I donated $100 for the Ron Paul superbowl ad,..only to find out they decided not to go thru with it. Does anyone know what happned to all that money donated for the commercial? I never got mine back or ever heard what they did with it. They should give all that money to this race car event
Too Bad
Too bad there wasn't nearly enough donations for this. There are over 250,000 people there and this is being broadcasted allllllll over. :(
This should be an easy goal for us.
Lets get this going, I'm good for $100
bump for freedom
Please donate! This is a great opportunity...and is a MUCH better idea than the blimp ever was.
Needs $100k by Weds, so please, donate donate donate.
GO GO GO RonPaulRacing
Ron Paul has worked his guts out to get as far as he could in the establishment system. He has run well and is continuing to run all the way to the end. If Dr Paul says it you can take it to the bank.
I see some fair-weather supporters running for the exits. I say goodbye…and good riddance.
This isn’t a campaign, it’s a movement. This movement is deep and wide and varied as it gets, it’s not going away.
We’re not going away either.
We have a chance to put the message of freedom and small, Constitutional government in front of over 75 MILLION spectators and TV viewers who love NASCAR. And we can do it without any help from the news media.
We can continue promoting this message for not just one race, but through the summer, the GOP convention, and through November 2008. We have a venue and a potential spokesman who receives attention on TV, print and radio around the world. We can get this media exposure for pennies per person through NASCAR sponsorship.
Don’t give up the fight…for the fight has just begun.

Thanks Granny for your previous support, Wish you all the greatness in your support of Ron Paul, and RonPaulRacing.com
John 3:16
Anyone remember that John 3:16 thing at every football game. Ron Paul has hit internet viral status. Now, he's becoming a cultural phenomenon. This is so cool to see. That picture is awesome.
Excellent story. It warmed me up on this cold January morning. :)
I know nothing of NASCAR
I'm a co-organizer in the DFW area. Last year, all of the DFW groups pulled together for the big NASCAR event at Texas Motor speed way here in Fort Worth. Most folks wanted to get a booth that cost $5,000! I knew that there were only four ways in and out of TMS and that with all the people in the Meetups, we could just "post" at four locations and there would be no way in or out of there without seeing us. We could save all that money by doing sign waves.
Let me show you a copy of the message I sent out to everyone when someone in one of the groups asked for feedback from the event:
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••
NASCAR:
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Well, boy was I wrong! I didn't see ANY reason to spend $5k for a booth when we could do sign waves at 4 key intersections, and there would be no way in or out of the place without seeing us.
As it turned out the few that showed up to do sign waves, not even enough to do 4 intersections because there were only 3, were run off by 5-0 after about an hour and a half. Two of us then manned the booth for the next two days. Thank goodness that there WAS a booth!
The booth was fantastic! Over 15,000 slim-jims given out! We picked up all the slim-jims we could find laying on the ground at the end of the last day, and there were less than 200 thrown down! That's an important fact. The VAST majority of them were kept. I kept saying as I was handing them out: "He just wants you to keep all your money, and he has a thirty year record to back that up!" Most were at least curious about my bold statement.
The part that kept me smiling was when I would say my line, some people would say: "No thank you." Imagine saying no thank you to keeping your money! Nope, please give all my money to our trusty government and let them decided how much I should be allotted. It kills me. But those were the major minority.
Others offered their opinion of Ron Paul rather than accept the slim-jim. To each his own. While I certainly cannot agree with the opinion that was offered to me (ok, it was shouted at me) that "Ron Paul HATES our troops," I must defend this person's right to have/offer that opinion, and I do. The irony is that the supporters of Ron Paul understand this as well, and that if we don't elect Ron Paul, there is the distinct probability that he WON'T be able to have, let alone express, an opinion other than that of the "Status Quo." But I digress...
The banners did indeed fly over 250,000 NASCAR fans. However, there were several other banners flying around as well. I would guess that most people saw them. Thanks to John (of the Plano group?) and the Granny Warriors for making that happen!
What also happened that is (IMO) the best thing ever, could not be planned, coordinated, or organized. It was merely divine intervention. On one side of the booth was the Scott (yes, toilet paper, and yes, that joke has been made about me for my entire life thank you very much, hehe) Booth. On the other side was Tony Stewart's stock car (a replica I'm sure). I'm not a NASCAR fan, but I've been told that Tony Stewart is the hottest name in NASCAR right now. The "Ron Paul" of NASCAR if you will. Anyway, the booth was giving away FREE pictures to anyone that wanted one. Thousands upon thousands of people had their picture taken in front of the stock car by a "stationary" camera. The line for these free pictures was "around the corner" for two days solid.
At the end of Sunday, as all booths were closing up, I asked the guys to take one last picture of me and my girlfriend as she is a "number 20" fanatic. So, they did, and when I looked at the picture my jaw dropped because of what was in this picture's (and every other picture taken there) background. Because of the relationship of the stock car, the Ron Paul booth, and the Scott booth, the background stated in HUGE letters: Ron Paul - A Winning Team!
I'm not joking here, that is CLEARLY in the background of every single picture. Everyone that looks at this picture may not say the words out loud, they probably won't even know that they "saw" them. What WILL happen is that they are associating Ron Paul as a winning team, with one of their favorite things NASCAR. I'm telling you, you cannot buy that. Call me crazy (if you haven't already), but this is an amazing event in and of itself. These pictures will be shown to thousands of others in email, mySpace, faceBook, just people putting them on their desks at work or showing them to their friends/family. WOW!
There was also a campsite at the event. I'm not sure of all or what that happened there, but my understanding is that there was a "kegger" that drew in others from the surrounding campground area. It seems Ron Paul information was available to those interested. That's what I'm talking about... Miller Light for Ron Paul! Woot!
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Here is a link to an example of the photos that went out to NASCAR fans. This picture was taken with my cell phone, not the camera that all the other pics were taken with. But it is in almost the exact spot were the camera was:
http://photos2.meetupstat...
So, I was DEAD WRONG about NASCAR. I am donating to this event, and I hope that the lesson I learned will be provide an answer to those that may be riding the fence on supporting this. I don't know the first thing about NASCAR, but I'm sure glad we had that booth and I truly feel that I'll be glad that we had that car!
Scott in Fort Worth
Make this a new post!
Dude, make that a new post!!!!! That's awesome.
Give us racecar visualisations
with Ron Paul ads in various placements and their individual costs. This will stimulate much more interest and therefore funding. In addition, once this becomes a definite go, consider funding a RPNASCAR Blimp to give better racetrack coverage to our driver and other drivers too (for a premium), plus the blimp advertising would make quite a one-two punch with that of our car!
Keep this going
even endorsed by "Granny Warrior"

I've volunteered with NHLA and CNHT up here in New Hampshire for a number of NASCAR events. We've raised a lot of money and had a lot of fun. You get to see everything from the stands and don't have to pay anything. They even give you free food. Pretty fun.

I'm not much into racing, but....
I don't care much for Nascar, but I have friends who are really into it, and they say that this can only be REALLY GOOD for the campaign. I trust them, and I trust the Granny Warriors, so I'm donating!
Keep up the GREAT WORK! :)

Not Finalized Yet
Wait til after Tuesday's meeting with Doug Yates. More than likely, Yates is trying to find a FULL TIME sponsor for the entire year.
Remember, the return of the #28 Davey Allison car is going to be a big deal, so there may be big money sponsors willing to contract for a full season. As I understand it, RonPaulRacing is only looking for ONE race, the Daytona 500 due to available finances. This may be a deal stopper. I dunno, but PLEASE everyone, DO NOT get your hopes up. Pray, yes, but put yer eggs in different baskets.
This is a full-time sponsorship....
...they will change the ad to advertise something else for us after the elections are over.

If you wanna raise money
Take that logo and print it on TSHIRTS. Sell them for $15. Cost should be around $4 per shirt. Take the balance and apply it to the donations. SIMPLE!
Why did'nt we think of that!
We have a NASCAR approved supplier designing and providing a whole range of Ron Paul Racing gear, coming soon.

I recieved a response.................
Scott,
Has responded to me, and he states that he has been real busy updating post. The web site looks nice. He said he is meeting with Doug Yates on Tuesday to work out the details. I informed him I am board once I see something from Yates or Jayski.com (NASCAR insider website).
Scam until someone proves otherwise
Nobody would like to see this more than I. But a email address that doent work, and not a single reponse in 17hrs. Hmmmmmm
Do not donote until proven to be real.
I hope it is.
Fair question
We have a email system on ronpaulracing.com up and running. A board will be addressed and as soon as our webmaster can do it will be posted, in the mean time send a message to scott@ronpaulracing.com or ron.conrad@ronpaulracing.com or ryan@ronpaulracing.com .

Is a Real man who is Dedicated to Ron Paul!!!!
I have met him several times and can attest to his dedication! This is not hearsay, but rather a man (like Trevor) who is willing to think outside the box and make things happen.
My point is... Believe, and Support him if you can!
I agree
Scanner Scott is the real deal; a die-hard supporter of freedom and Dr. Ron Paul. I believe the ronpaulracing project is a great ideal. And yes, I am indeed a Nascar fan.
The accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands, whether of one, a few, or many, and whether hereditary, self-appointed, or elective, may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny. James Madison
while I cant attest to the horsepower of this idea...
...I can say that Scanner Scott is one of the most dedicated and enthusiastic supporters of the doctor.

Missing Information
I was curious and figured others would be as well: how many states could this impact?
The Daytona 500 is scheduled for February 17th. This will miss the Super Tuesday set of states, but this will fall before the following primaries and caucuses:
Kentucky
Mississippi
North Carolina
Ohio
Texas
West Virginia
Idaho
Nebraska
New Mexico
Oregon
Pennsylvania
Rhode Island
Puerto Rico
South Dakota
Vermont
Washington
Wisconsin
Use your best judgment, but let it not be uneducated. :-)
Addendum: to those orchestrating this effort, I would encourage you to include this information on your website and literature so that people are aware of the possible impact of this event. While missing Super Tuesday, there are still quite a few states on this list with some big ones in the south.
Puerto Rico ???
wtf? Since when do US territories get to vote? OK, I know about DC, but they have the blasted 23rd Amendment. How many delegates does Guam, American Samoa, and the Marshal Islands decide?
None
The answer is they all get zero delegates, the same as DC. But Texas will be huge and is very into NASCAR. It could also help in Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Kentucky. That's 234 district delegates up for grabs or a total 398 total delegates.

NASCAR is SO REPUBLICAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Daytona History>>>>
In 1984, President Ronald Reagan became the first sitting U.S. President to attend a NASCAR race. The President gave the command to start the race ("Gentlemen, start your engines") by phone from aboard Air Force One. Landing at Daytona, the President proceeded to the track, and viewed the race with Bill France Jr.. During his time at the race, Reagan was interviewed by NASCAR driver Ned Jarrett, who in 1978 had begun a career as a radio race broadcaster.
I have a photograph from July 4th 1984 taken at Daytona International Speedway which shows Richard Petty's car in the foreground and Air Force One landing in the background. This was Richard Petty's 200th career win and this race was started by President Ronald Reagan from Air Force One. It is autographed by President Ronald Reagan and Richard Petty
Get off your butts and put down ten bucks you would have spent watching football this weekend.
You cant touch that!!!
