CODEX: All food irradiated and no health supplements in 2 years!

I suggested this movie earlier. Go to www.welltv.com and click on the movie. It's funny but I watched this movie a couple of years ago before I really heard of Ron Paul. Well, guess who is in the movie? Ron Paul! Again, he is in a movie advocating freedom of some kind. This time it is health freedom. Excellent movie. People should pick up some copies and get it out to people.

I've been a Ron Paul supporter since the mid '70s and the National Committee to Relegalize Gold. Lat year had the honor of being asked to make suggestions for Dr. Paul's Health Freedom platform statement.

Thanks for posting the piece on Codex Alimentarius (the World Food Code) and irradiation of food. This is not the only area in which Codex acts against freedom. For example, following the FDA's unconstitutional lead, Codex is meeting this week in Africa about Genetically Modified (GM) foods. The Market wants producers to tell consumers if products are GM free. The US, wanting to "protect" us from making "bad" decisions, wants to forbid truthful and not misleading advertising about GM status. Yes the US delegate at a previous meeting actually said that studies show consumers want this information and since the FDA "knows" GM products to be "safe" (without any meaningful testing...) the agency does not want US consumers to know GM status.

The same "logic" applies to labeling foods a irradiated, or organic (Codex has a history of denigrating organic standards too... and attacking nutrients... and etc.)

Our Supreme Court, on the other hand, in the 2002 landmark case of Thompson v Western States Medical Centers said,

"If the First Amendment means anything, it means that regulating speech must be a last - not first - resort. ... We have previously rejected the notion that the Government has an interest in preventing the dissemination of truthful commercial information in order to prevent members of the public from making bad decisions with the information. ... Even if the Government did argue that it had an interest in preventing misleading advertisements, this interest could be satisfied by the far less restrictive alternative of requiring ... a warning ... that its risks were unknown."

So, what can we do (besides electing Dr. Paul, of course!)??

Is there a specific "Vote for Ron Paul; he'll defend your health freedom choices" flier available?

I know RP has his Health Freedom statement page on his website, but, I'm looking for something I can quickly run off and hand out to people as they enter/exit the health food store -- something that directly connects voting specifically for Ron Paul with defending our Health Freedom choices.

Can anyone point me to such a flier?

This is something that I whole heartedly believe that NO government has the authority over what we put in or on our bodies. Sorry! We'll see about that!

I eat organic. I even grow my own vegetables. And I dont mind irradiation - I prefer it to pesticides in fact, and I prefer it to reduced yields creating higher prices that impact both my budget and the quality of life in struggling countries where starvation is already a problem.

Do some homework, yo. Unless you're trying to harvest seeds from fruits and vegetables, food irradiation is a Good Thing(tm). Ionizing radiation in the form of gamma rays doesnt mean your food is radioactive. This isnt alpha or beta radiation, we're not talking free-flying neutrons ripping apart nuclei - it's just high-freq radio waves killing off the micro-organisms that cause spoilage.

While I oppose any American treaty that requires us to conform to UN law on irradiation, I also oppose any American law that requires or prevents any individual store owner from using this technology if they so choose.

If you dont like it any one store, shop somewhere else. If no stores will provide this service for you, start your own. If you can't, well then.. grow your own.

"They" are working on making that digusting school food even "healthier and better". TV type dinners (probably made by one gov't contractor. A person very close in the nutrition field said that 450 types are in the pipeline-- depending on your needed diet (and possibly your diagnosis).

I would like to store some NON-IRRADIATED SEEDS. Can anyone with knowledge please post what brands, if any, commonly available now are not irradiated. Are package labels on seeds mandated to disclose this information? What happens to seeds when they are irradiated? What is the shelf life of seeds? I would like to stock up this spring.

And I am very angry about GMO/radiated foods and the FDA, Monsanta, etc. trying to take away my organic foods, my herbs -- my very health and sustenance.

This is another reason why Ron Paul is the only man running for President who understands just how dangerous this all is. BTW he is also one of the doctors that will come out against mandatory vaccinations and tell you that they have had very, very serious side effects in some people.

I will do everything I can to help Ron Paul win.

Or else I plan to move to another country in 2009. Seriously.

As a nutritionist I can tell you Codex is a nightmare! It enrages me to no end to think we could actually have this enforced.
I tried to find your question but could not. Can you tell me what # it is now and how to locate it?
