I went to vote today and argued w/ the head lady in the county about Diebold

I heard on the radio that I could go ahead and vote today in Georgia, so I stopped by the County Registrar's office after court and began the process. However, after I got there, I was told that I could not cast a paper ballot and that I would have to use the machines. When I asked if they were Diebold machines, some woman came out of the back to deal with me.

She insisted that the machines were infallible and that none of the people there would risk their "cushy" jobs by tampering with the votes. I explained that my lack of faith was in the machines and not in the ladies who worked there. After 20 minutes of her trying to persuade me to use the damn machine - she even talked about how Diebold manufactures ATMs (which I don't use) - I had to forcefully ask her if there was another way of submitting a paper ballot. She sent me next door to get a request for an absentee ballot and told me to contact the Secretary of State if I didn't like what I was hearing.

Lame story I know, but I just thought I'd share.

I guess they didn't read about the ATM machines that

were tampered with. All ATM have a master code, most are generic and come with the owners manuel. Most store owners don't change the master password. All it took was one man to use his password, and other master passwords found on the net. He changed the machines to think it was issuing 5 dollar bills, instead of 20 dollar bills. What do you get? Withdraw 400 dollars, and you get 1600 dollars. Nice, huh? This is a perfect example of the blind faith some people have in security.

Thanks!

Love reading encouraging stories of people who won't take no for an answer! This lady probably isn't a bad person folks. She's just one of millions of people caught in what I call "the-yuppie-i-know-it-all" syndrome. These are educated people who are brought into the fold of popular culture, which despises anything controversial or conspiratorial because "thats weird sounding". It's a weird psychology but they actually believe it makes them look cool, powerful or "in the know" if they ridicule others for being skeptical.

Don't lay down to these people. They just don't understand what is happening yet. It's coming. Believe me its coming. We will see a day when those of us who have stood tall in our beliefs and gut feelings are vindicated.

I used to wonder why all the people that worked at the Ford automobile plant drove Chevy's and why all the people that worked at the Chevy automobile plant drove Fords?

It's because people will believe what they want, put their faith in whatever they have come to decide is best for them. Probably a lot more to it than that -- but DIEBOLD is screwed up, regardless of what that woman has to say about it. You know it, I know it, most of us know it. Now if we can just convince the rest of the country.

I'd be willing to bet that the only ones that truly believe they can trust the DIEBOLD machines are the ones doing the actual programming (tampering) to calculate the scewed scores they are after // that's not being left up to chance -- we can all trust that.

When shit hits the fan

When shit hits the fan she'll remember you and think, Oh, I guess he wasn't crazy. I'm with you on the atm thing too.

I asked for a receipt hahaha

I voted early in Florida. The whole office came to a stop when I asked for a copy of my, and you could hear a pin drop. Of course they wre all staring like I had an exra head lol They assured me my vote was safe, I responded that this was important to me and I should be able to have a record of my vote. My logic that you get a receipt for anything, if you can get one or a pack of gum why can't you get one for your presidential election got me nowhere!!! Of course I didn't get it but everyone in the offce heard the conversation and perhaps one day they will remember and discuss it among themselves.

I made it a point to suggest

I made it a point to suggest something similar today by asking for some kind of proof that the machine is indeed recording my vote. She simply said that they were working on that. Haha

atms

Why don't you use atms? do you
use credit cards?

I don't use them because I

I don't use them because I keep my banking transactions to an absolute minimum and deal mostly in cash anyway. My banking institution sees (and thus can only keep records of) what I want them to see.

I don't blame you...

have you ever seen a predator on a prowl? Even if it is your own bank and you made a mistake - it will pounce on you like a hungry predator.
