Left vs. Right: The Illusion of Opposites

Analysis © 2007 by G. Edward Griffin

Would you rather be a Neoconservative or a Progressive? That is a trick question. The trick is in the fact that, although there may be differences between the rhetoric and short-term agendas of these groups, their long-term goals actually are the same. They may differ over how to fight a war in the Middle East but not over the right of the President to wage such a war empowered by the UN instead of Congress. They may differ over what kind of speech should be forbidden ("subversive" speech vs. "hate" speech, for example) but not over the right of the government to forbid it. They may differ over how fast to bankrupt the nation to provide benefits for its citizens but not over the assumption that providing benefits is what governments are supposed to do. They disagree over tactics, timing, and style, but not objectives. They fight for dominance within the New World Order, but they work together to build it. That is because both groups have embraced the underlying ideology of global collectivism.

The illusion of opposites has been a dominant part of the world's political landscape for over a century and it has been the primary reason for the advance of collectivism during that time. In the epic struggles of World War II, millions of patriotic citizens within the combatant nations passionately supported their leaders, believing they were defending against an evil empire. Russians fought for Communism; Germans fought for Nazism; Italians fought for Fascism. Yet, these were merely variants of the underlying ideology, called collectivism, that was common to them all.

Americans, of course, were horrified by such political doctrines and fought, instead, for Democracy. They did not realize that, while that word filled their heads with visions of freedom and justice for all, their leaders had another definition as they quietly converted the United States into a collectivist regime incredibly similar to the ones against which they fought. The contest was never about ideology. It was always about who would be the victor and who would be the vanquished; who would emerge from the war with world power; who would control the natural resources; who would create the new boundaries; who would judge and who would hang.

Speaking of left and rights...

How about we sponsor a Championship fight

www.RingsideRevolution.co...

This is a 30 min video,

one of the best I've seen.

http://video.google.com/v...

well

i've just watched it for the second time it is a good film. I believe it might be a good primer for "money banking and the federal reserve". I believe we are an olegarchy disguised as a democracy but we were intended to be a republic. The film does hint at this disguise, but fails to point out clearly who the oligarchs are.

"Socialism needs two legs on

"Socialism needs two legs on which to stand; a right and a left.
While appearing to be in complete opposition to one another,
they both march in the same direction."

bump

have to keep this one up;will save us alot of time in DP,and keep distractions/division to a minimum. [reading this article, that is.]

Education ain't cheap!

This older Gentleman thanks you all for your sincere efforts. When i say "Education ain't cheap!" , I refer to the many thousands of dollars
I have forwarded on to the G--D--N System over my lifetime. You young patriots inspire me!

"Liberty and Freedom for our Grandkids"

divide and conquer

one side brainwashes this group the other side brainwashes the other group. I find it strange that over time we have remained divided into two almost equal parts. This is not the natural progression of things. In the natural world one side wins over the other and the other goes away. If you look back over time it's unbelievable how long we have been divided into two almost equal parts, Democrat vs. Republican. I don't believe this is coincidence. It does seem like there is some organized effort behind this. I believe if the facts were laid out we as citizens would all come together as one We would find that our beliefs are not that far apart. My family is split fairly equally and I know there beliefs down deep are just about the same. I have come to believe we in this country if not the world are brainwashed. Someone once said that a group of people that believe they are free are the hardest one's to convince they are not free. With so much of our information controlled by so few it is hard to see how we can overcome this. I've read many books and seen many films. I believe "money banking and the federal reserve" at Lewrockwell.com is a most effective tool in convincing people that they are not as free as they think they are. The "Freedom to Facism" film convinces people I am a nut. If you haven't already seen this film you should go to lewrockwell.com scroll down and click on mises media and watch this film. G. Edward Griffin is in this film and is very convincing to me and others.

Left -Right

The Left -Right parties have agendas contrary to the US Constitution. They have lied to their electors. Being part of secretive groups like CFR, Bilderberger, etc., is a conflict of interest at best, treason as the most correct definition. Candidates that do not reveal what they say in those meetings, are hiding from their electors what they are supposed to know.
Treason is the best definition, when they hide their secret agenda of one world government(loss of sovereignty), and try to destroy the supreme law of the land. They should not be allowed to be candidates!!! Candidates most tell everything to their electors, not their private lives, but all that will effect the President's agenda.

It Will Be Hard For Them To See That

Good stuff. If only his message could be heard by all.

Can "Religious vs. NONreligious" be a similar case?

Even on this site it seems that the most devisive topics invlove religion. It clearly divides our country and the world.

Collectivism takes many forms. They all need to be kept to a minimum, or eliminated.

between collectivist regimes (although the US was not as murderous as the others).

I personally want to challenge the 1937 law Napolitano discusses in his book "The Constitution in Exile": US vs Corpolene Products...which said that the Commerce Clause means that Congress can pass any law it wants as long as they do so "rationally".

Has anybody tried to prove in court that Congress is not rational? It should be easy to do so, what with guys like Craig and McCain being blackmailed all the time...

"(although the US was not as murderous as the others)"

Tell that to all the innocent civilians in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Oh wait - you cant......

bump for G Edward Griffin,

bump for G Edward Griffin, my hero!

the link

is also posted at the end of the excerpt above.
Sometimes I feel like so many threads and discussions on DP would not even be an issue/need to occur if people just read the article above. That is why I posted it [as well,a couple of times;did not realize Manystrom had posted it as well] We should have a sticky of this on the DP home page!.
Not that I mind people sharing their views. It's just that the more informed one is going into it,the less time we waste getting there.

bump this. I had to dig way

bump this.

I had to dig way down to find it and print it out for my friends who are former dems (now for RP).

Thanks for this!

Food For Politicians

Politicians feed off of human nature's base failures and evils.
Statesmen stand free of indebtedness to any particular group.
It's called the rule of law based upon the Constitution.
Not just the rule of law, since any number of laws can be made.
There has to be a foundational document placing the restraints upon the evil politicians and the evil majority. Democracy was anathema to our Founding Fathers.
But if the people are not aware of the evils being done, or do not care (as in watch football and basketball all the time), then evil men will take over.

I say let's have a 'warm' revolution. :)

Nice

That's a great article. When will politicians begin standing up for the individual rather than the collective?

Paleocon

Color me a paleoconservative.
As long as our Constitution stands as the law of the land and "We the People" have the power to enforce it, we can and must RESIST this scheme to wrest it from us, lest it be lost forever.
Let us not consign our states united to the annals of history. We HAVE the power in our numbers to stop this insanity. We really do not want to be the fist to grind the rest of the world into submission.
By excersizing our power as a people united we are setting an example that the rest of the People of the world ARE noticing! It is exciting for me to see that we are restoring confidence in our Constitution. We are once again reminded of the BRILLIANCE the drafters of this document displayed in creating checks and limits on government that people many places in world may wish to emulate.
However, I think I may speak for all of us in saying that We the People do NOT wish to force this onto other Peoples at gunpoint. I cannot see Americans volunteering for these continued aggressions, and a draft would have a horrendous outcome, as there is obvoiusly no popular support for this agenda that has now been EXPOSED to millions, if not billions.
There is one clear option for the American People. A return to the limits imposed on the government MUST be restored. The contract must be enforced by the People, because as we can see, the government will not do it on its own.
The Congress is too lazy even to handle the responsibility DELEGATED to it by the Constitution. It is their DUTY to coin lawful money and to regulate the value thereof.
It will be interesting to see how events unfold this year. The new generation of voters have embraced paleoconservatism despite the Liberal media, and the shift to the left of center of the so-called "neocons". That paleoconservative movement is growing into a voting block that will be filling offices soon.
Long Live the Republic ! !
GO RON PAUL ! ! !

As they say the best way to deal with humans is to put them

and keep them in groups.

In this way, the rulers have humanity in an administrable unit.

A good way to keep people on board it to make them "think" they are free.

Last few elections I was in the booth saying to myself..."this ain't free...these two guys are the same."

That IS the plan. Once everyone knows the plan then we can be free.

As long as people call this information a "conspiracy theory" we will continue the slavery thing.

We want it more than they do.

T

Dividing People

And putting them into groups is what America has always been about. This if where the idea of racial divisons came from. The government began classifying people as "white" or "caucasion" so they would be easier to classify. None of you are "white." You're probably German-American, or Polish-American, or English-American. It's all an illusion. We've lost our roots and sense of individual self worth and heritage because of it.

He's right of course

and VERY eloquent!

Mitch Kapor, the founder of Lutus, wrote about this back in the early nineties.

He called it "authoritarian / anti-authoritarian.

It sounds like a Nolan chart, but it's more fundamental. I think the Nolan chart is false, in that it's two dimensional. It should be folded.

Also, the Nolan chart implies that freedom is an extreme position, rather than the natural state of EVERYONE.

Collectivism vs. Individualism

This is an outstanding animated series that explores the concepts Collectivism and Individualism based on the research by G. Edward Griffin.
