That is so they have an excuse to either exclude or ignore Ron Paul.
He and McCain will probably gang up on Romney again to make him look bad, thereby guaranteeing McCain the nomination.
If Huckabee and Romney had any sense, they would join with Ron Paul in a protest of GOP tactics. But that will never happen.

McCain winning the nomination isnt' a bad thing.
On its face, it sucks, because we want Ron to win it. But when you really think about it, a large portion of the Republica party truly dislikes McCain. Hell, even Blipbaugh said he might not vote Republican is McCain gets the nod. With that, a Ron Paul 3rd party run (and let's face it people, he WILL run 3rd party if we're all still behind him) will be helped by the fact that those distraught Republicans will actually have a real conservative in the race.
I know this is forward thinking, but let's not forget that it's the movement that's important. Getting the Republican nomination is a battle that would be a huge win, but if Ron loses it's certainly not the end of the war.
