Threaten the GOP with a Democratic vote if Ron Paul is not the GOP Presidential Candidate
I have been thinking that the GOP is as responsible as anyone for Ron Paul not getting the media coverage that he deserves. It really frustrates me to see this. There is a clear message we can send to the GOP. Their continued interference with the election process should be punished.
I say let's make a formal statement that we will deliberately vote for the democratic candidate if Ron Paul is not the GOP presidential candidate. Let's make this very clear and concise. It won't matter much who is elected if Ron Paul is not so let's hit them where is hurts.
Maybe this will be a great use of the vote should Ron Paul not be the candidate.
output

If you want to threaten the
If you want to threaten the GOP with that I certianly wouldn't stand in the way. But to actually follow threw with it I would never.
I see no difference between
I see no difference between any of the Neocons on the D or R ticket. That said, all we need to do is withhold our votes and the Democrats will win anyhow.
However, I believe Ron Paul can win. Its not over yet, and his sly strategy just might surprise everyone!
Absolutely not
Absolutely not.
I'm a fiscal conservative.
The last thing we need is MORE taxes to "help" every man, woman and child in america by taxing them to death. That's what the democrats would do.
Of course I haven't heard any brilliant monetary policies on the republican side either.
I have taken this article as being negative towards Dr. Paul...
... you're a dickhead!
Make a true statement
I have been a memebr of the GOP since I could vote (20 years). One week after the convention if one of the "top three" is the nominee I will mail my registration along with a note to the National commitee explaining that I have not left the party the party has left me and no longer represents me. A million GOP voters turning in their cards ought to demonstrate to them that the party has lost its way. Far more effective than supporting socialist candidates outright.
Hold them to their oath:
President
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
DO NOT vote Democrat & DO NOT write-in Ron Paul
Trust me, I have been in the fight for Liberty a long time. I have learned some lessons. Whoever wins in November, the press will take it as "that's what the people wanted" thus a vote for a Democrat will be spun as exactly that, NOT as a vote AGAINST the Republican! But a vote for the Democrat! VOTE FOR LIBERTY! Not a Democrat! Also, DO NOT Write-in Ron Paul! The votes WILL NOT BE COUNTED!!! I repeat, the VOTES WILL NOT BE COUNTED!!!! You have to be registered on each state's ballot to be counted as a candidate - even a write-in! And that takes tens of millions of dollars to get onto all 50 state ballots. Thus any votes for anything other than the listed candidates will simply be discarded! Vote for candidates that hold the principals of Liberty! The Libertarian candidate will be advocating Liberty (ending the IRS, ending the war, stopping wasteful spending, reasserting state's rights, etc.. etc..). A vote for the Libertarian candidate will be a vote for Liberty just as a vote for Ron Paul would have been! Thus if Ron Paul is not a choice, VOTE LIBERTARIAN! And in answer to the Constitution Party question above "Is the Constitution Party on all 50 state ballots?" the answer is not likely. They are MUCH smaller than the Libertarian Party, and as it costs tens of millions just to get ballot access, they do not have the infrastructure to pull it off. The Libertarian Party will likely be on all 50 state ballots again this year (as they have in the past 5 elections), so if you do not have the choice of voting for Ron Paul, VOTE LIBERTARIAN! But stop being so defeatist, and get out there and canvass for Ron Paul! and make this discussion moot.
Constitution Party
is also an option.
That's what I have voted the last 2 times. They will probably endorse Ron Paul, anyway I believe we will be in this Republican race until September, so let's see how it goes.
Let's focus on winning the primary
Get out and sell some votes!
Excellent points!
You definately don't want to vote Dem--they will consider it a mandate. And as he pointed out, a write in will disqualify the ballot. Vote 3rd party, as that will definately send a message to BOTH parties.
A write-in will simply be a discarded ballot, so you won't be making any sort of statement at all.
A 3rd party vote would certainly be noticed and a big % to 3rd parties would send the message "up yours" to the Dems and GOP that the old media could not ignore.
Before worrying about any of that, let's see what happens. Do not give up the fight!
Maybe Ron Paul will endorse someone
It is way premature to worry about this, but if he's not nominated, he will probably advise us what to do. If we follow his lead, we'll make a difference.
He's going to have power whether he wins the nom or not. Patience.
I'll be voting for the Libertarian candidate if he's not on the ballot. In 1988, it would have been Ron Paul, himself. Turning the country around is a slow process, but once it starts, it can turn fast, and I am still optimistic he'll be the nominee.
IMissLiberty
Who would RP
be able to endorse? Certainly none of the current candidates, and I can't really see him endorsing a 3rd party candidate, though I could very well be wrong.
Should RP not be the nominee, I'll be voting for a Libertarian right along with you.
My vote is for Paul and only
My vote is for Paul and only Paul, sorry. Even if I have to write him in.
write in Ron Paul!
If Ron Paul doesn't get the nomination then we all just write him in and we continue campaigning for him up to the general election as a write in candidate. People who didn't register republican in time to vote for him in the primaries can then write him in in the general election! I think there is a lot of untapped votes for Paul because of party registration deadlines. Who knows maybe there is a chance, with all this support he has, that he'll change his mind and run as an independent or on a third party ticket. I doubt it since he said it's "not likely" but "not likely" is not a set in stone statement.
But he hasn't lost the nomination yet so let's focus on getting that nomination!
Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." Benjamin Franklin
"A free people ought to be armed." George Washington
"...but let it not be said that we did nothing." Ron Paul
I wouldn't vote
for anyone before i voted democrat.
Nope my vote is for Paul in primaries and general.
God save the States, and the Republic! May it never die!
Not a chance in.....
As bad as the republicrats are, do you really think that the democans are any better? If you do, you are in the wrong neighborhood friend.
As for me, if the republicrats continue to redicule and laugh at Dr. Paul, I will sit out the general election and challenge all other Ron Paul supporters to do the same.
NO! but will fill in RP name
NO! but will fill in RP name on the general election ballot.
No
How about we all just threaten a Ron Paul vote regardless of the nomination. There ARE enough of us to throw the elections from the republicans and to the democrats yet we never have to waver from our support of Dr. Paul.
If Dr. Paul doesn't receive the nomination then he won't win but we can all threaten to still vote for him. This WOULD give the election to the democrats and would possibly give Dr. Paul more than 3% of a 3rd party ticket.
This would be monumental as that 3rd party would then be eligible for Federal Election Commission financial aid. The Republicans DON'T want another party ruining their little game.
We all need to stick to the plan and vote for Ron Paul come hell or high water. RON PAUL GET'S OUR VOTE!!!!!
Ron Paul or Bust
I think that the leadership of the National Republican Party has more loyalty to the special interests that are financing both major parties, than they do to the Republican Party. They will allow the Party to suffer defeat, rather than to run a candidate who opposes their agenda. We saw this happen in 1964 with Barry Goldwater. The leadership of the National Republican Party is composed of NeoCons. They are working to continue the current policies of undeclared wars for profit, record deficits and the growing police state.
At the same time, the Democrat Party is controlled by the same interests. Despite the posturing by the Democrat candidates, none of them will end our current foreign policy of aggressive wars, profligate spending and the erosion of our freedoms. A vote for any of the Democrat candidates, or any of the other Republican candidates in a vote to perpetuate our current situation.
I am voting for Ron Paul whether he runs as a Republican, and independent, or I have to write him in. I will not waste my vote on a CFR approved candidate.
Our nation has been going in the wrong direction for a hundred years. This my well be our last chance to reverse course.
RNC doesn't care!
I already sent the RNC an email detailing my Paul Ultimatum, but never said I'd vote for a demoncrat.... I'd rather be waterboarded! I did tell them that they had no chance of winning the general election with their stable of war-mongering fools. I pledged to vote for Dr. Paul by write-in or on third party ticket and after reading some of these posts, I won't be the only one.
It has become quite obvious that the CFR controls this election and has stacked the deck on both the Republican and Democratic side. The powers that be have decided long ago in some smoke-filled room, that the democrats will take this election. They sent memos to the MSM and shut-out the only man that could stand in their way... Dr. Paul. They just didn't count on hundreds of thousands of patriots standing with him.
With the exception of Ron Paul
ANY of the candidates if elected- dem or repub will morph into what Bush is. An election is just pageantry to give us the feeling that something will "change" and that we have a voice. Its an illusuion to think the repubs are quakin in their boots over a Dem any more than the head of the NBA is nervous about the Lakers beating the Bulls- the money ends up at the same place- the winning team just gets more bonuses. In all of the Dem vs Dem and Rep vs Dem "bloodletting" & drama- just think "pro wrestling". So never vote to keep someone else out- vote Ron Paul even if you have to write him in.
Can't believe you still don't get it...
What does it take to convince everyone here that Hilary is the candidate of choice in the MSM, especially for so-called Conservatives? Want proof?
I'm sure you would agree that Sean Hannity does NOT want Ron Paul to win the Presidency. And how does he believe he will prevent it? By Ignoring him. True?
Well then that only stands to reason that even though he calls it the Stop Hilary Express, she is the candidate that he is CONSTANTLY talking about. Same for Rush, B.O., and all the other "Conservatives".
This is beside the fact that she gets the most donations from the M/I Complex.
You're missing the point
Don't threaten to vote for the other guy if our guy isn't their nominee, it's a horrible idea. Let them dig their own grave by selecting the most "electable" canidate and history will write their demise. Hillary or Barack won't need our help in beating McCain or Romney, they'll win hands down.
What my threat is, and it's a promise, that I WILL vote for Dr. Paul in November. It doesn't matter to me, and shouldn't matter to anyone else, that you are only one of hundreds of millions of people. I will bring a pencil with me to the voting booth if it means i'm in the right.
In 2008, make the right choice and vote Ron Paul...if it's GOP, it's it's LP, or if it's just a write in.
These A-holes will not get me again. I will be in the right even if I am the only one.
You Won't Be The Only One
I spend so much time convincing potential supporters to take responsibility for their right to vote. Ron Paul is the first candidate in my lifetime that I will be able to vote FOR. I will never waste a vote on a candidate that I don't feel is good for my country again - no matter who is running!
The only thing these parties care about is money and power. I have told 4 people who have called me asking for donations, "All my donations are going to Ron Paul right now. If you want to support him, I'll consider supporting you." So far, none of them have stepped up, so they don't get my money.
If RP is not the nominee, the GOP will suffer greatly in this election, with a massive loss in power. The number of write-in votes RP gets (or if he chooses to run 3rd party) will amaze those who discounted him, and they will be knocking on Congressman Paul's door asking for education & co-sponsoring his bills. Baby-steps...
We should vote for the best candidate
And that is the good Doctor. If he is not the nominee, then we vote for the revolution by writing in Dr Paul's name.
We are for a new direction dictated by the constitution. This will continue long after this election. The more votes he gets, the more notice the revolution will get.
To vote for a democrat or the other republican nominees is a vote for the status quo. The status quo sucks.
How right you are
A threat of a democrat vote is no threat at all. The gop doesn't want your conservative gop vote anyway. A vote for McCain, Obama, Hillary, or Romney is all the same vote anyway. They are all liberal democrats, two of which have an R next to their name. I agree a vote for Paul no matter what is a vote for the revolution no matter what, the status quo is the status quo regardless of party.
Stopping the War
You don't think stopping this illegal, ethnic cleansing that we call a war isn't the most important thing to vote on?
Just saying. I won't vote Republican unless it's Dr Paul because I know no one else will end the war(s) which will end our country.
The Democrats are not going to stop the war.
The Democrats are not going to stop the war. They are all members of the Council on Foreign Relations, so regardless of what they are saying on the campaign trail to get elected, they are not going to do it.
http://www.thought-crimin...
Here's an excerpt, for anyone who actually thinks "Obomba" is really anti-war:
"To a select crowd of Americans, Obama preaches against the handling of the Iraq war. To other more private groups, Obama advocates military strikes on new middle eastern countries. Obama has aligned himself with several lobbying firms and nongovernmental organizations who seek further US militarization of the world. In several speeches and essays, Obama makes his foreign policy goals clear - and he is not anti-war. Is Obama intentionally sending a deceptive message to his constituency?
In a recent speech given to the American Israeli Political Action Committee, Obama outlines a plan for U.S. hegemony. He suggests polarizing political alignments that are already breeding anti-U.S. sentiment. Specifically, Obama pledges unfaltering military support to Israel."
And of course HRC gets the most donations from the MIC. The fact is, the "War on Terror" is a massive fraud. This is a war for profit by the ruling elite, and only Dr. Paul will bring it to an end. Pass that link around to anyone you know who thinks otherwise.
Vote for Dr. Paul either way. He's the only one who deserves it.
Ballot access
Is the Constitution Party on the ballot in all States? If not, why not?
.
.
.
Washington doesn't need more lawyers.
It needs a doctor!
Dr. Ron Paul *** RX for Freedom
Not likely - they haven't in past years
The Constitution Party is MUCH smaller than the Libertarian Party (The Libertarian Party is the 3rd largest political party in America, and larger than ALL other 3rd parties COMBINED!). It costs tens of millions of dollars to get 50 state ballot access, and so rat, only the LP has been able to do it (since the socialists in the 30's). The Republicans and Democrats do not like competition, and they have made the laws to protect themselves from challengers. The LP spends most of it's money just getting onto the ballot, which is why you don't see much advertising (by the time they have access, they are running on a shoe-string). That said, they have offered the invitation to Dr. Paul to run for the party's nomination if he fails to pick up the Republican nomination, but that would require Ron Paul supporters to attend the national convention - held in Denver over Memorial day weekend '08. Go to the LP's website to find out more it's www.lp.org
Voting for McLaim is like voting for a Democrat.
There is no real difference between them.
Democrats make me want to puke.
I would vote liberatrian.
www.ronpaul2008.com
There is life at the end of the tunnel my friends!
Agreed
It's not even a question of lesser of two evils anymore, they are both just incredibly bad choices. I actually think that conservatism would be better off with a loss to Hillary. We might get what we had in '94, when people elected republicans that actually acted a little bit like republicans at least while Clinton was in office, and we balanced the budget for a little while. If we don't get Dr. Paul in, I think McCain or Romney would be more damaging to conservative principles than Hillary would.
BLEH....
I will never vote Democrat, I would rather vote for McCain. If the GOP doesn't present a politician that represents me...they will not get my vote. The likelihood of a Democrat ever being capable of representing me...is zero.
From my perspective, there
From my perspective, there is no need for a threat. If Ron Paul is not the nominee, a democrat WILL become our next President. President Bush and this Congress have so betrayed the American people with an unjust war, the erosion of our civil liberties and the looming economic meltdown that we are bequeathing to our children, that there is no doubt that voters will come out in full force against republicans. That is unless the republican nominee is Ron Paul.
McCain and Huckabee offer us more of the same. The American people should shudder at that thought. McCain and Huckabee are liberals in disguise. In addition, Mike Huckabee makes even this strong Christian uneasy with his preaching. I have my own pastor.
America will never vote for President a man who comes with assorted personal heavy baggage. This leaves out Giuliani. Romney has serious integrity questions. I believe most people see the suspicious timing of his flip flop on abortion as an obvious ploy for political gain. He can not be trusted. Halliburton and Bain Capital comes to my mind.
But if Ron Paul were to be the republican nominee, the election would become about issues- not personalities. It would be about ideas- not sleaze. The American people would have an election with a genuine conservative as a choice. America could become the exalted nation our founding fathers once hoped for.
Don't do this...
Look the reason we are in the problems we have today is because of One party rule. We should all vote for another candidate that is not the top 2 of both sides and then vote republican all the way down. At least with keeping the minority in the senate at the level that it is at we can still force cloture and filibuster votes and slow down the process of socializing America. That is very important I think.
Wait
Wait for the brokered convention.
its not a threat...
its a promise!
Won't work here is why...
...the Republican Party was stolen by ultra left wing fanatics. Example
McCain and H. Clinton are two peas in a pod. They joke if they are the respective nominees of their parties it will be the most civil election process America has ever known. (Clinton and McCain just love each other, just like the Bush's and Clinton's are also best of friends.)
All RP supporters really should understand FULLY that any CFR backed candidate is acceptable to the power elite who own this country.
The Far Left and the Far Right have merged into the FAR OUT! ! !
*** God bless Ron Paul ***
* Ron Paul For President *
Do not vote for the democratic candidate....
Rather write Ron Paul in to take the election away from the GOP and let them know that we want our party back from the neocons that were formed from disenfranchised liberals. A vote for the Dems will not send the message as clear as writing Ron Paul in and taking the election. It will make them realize that we are the GOP and just because they hijacked our party does not mean that we will support the Dems, but rather show our support for the ideals of liberty, peace, and integrity by voting for Paul.
A vote for the opposing party is the same as supporting their platform, and I feel strongly against the status quo! So I will write Dr. Paul in, or vote for him in third party if need be, but I will not vote for anyone else. If Dr. Paul is left off of the ballot completely I will refuse to vote for any of the other candidates that represent exactly what is wrong with this country. Call it a protest vote, call it what you like, but this is a game of chicken with the GOP and I for one will not swerve away from the ideas Dr. Ron Paul has presented.
Dam politicians, not rivers!
Agreed
A write in for Ron Paul, if it comes to that, is the only and loudest voice we will have. To vote for anyone other than Ron Paul would be a betrayal of the truth. I feel priveledged to have discovered Dr. Paul and I know that he is the only one that can set our Country on the right course.
oops
oops
There's no way I could pull a lever for Ace McCain
I may not support Hillary or Obama, but I sure won't support Ace. He's a Dick Cheney Wanna Be!
NO , Means no! 1000x NO!
This will not work and Hillary is the worst of the candidates running!
I will vote Constitution Party or write Paul in (both the Constitution Party and the Liberatarians may combine if Paul is not the Republican nominee.)

I'm Voting Constitution Party
IF Dr. Ron isn't on the ballot in November.
We could also write him in:)))
May our efforts in support of Doctor and Congressman Ron Paul's Campaign to be President of these United States of America be blessed with supernatural productivity and success
I'm a CPer too...
But may I suggest that a write in for the good doctor would be better? Chuck Baldwin and Michael Peroutka have both endorsed RP - is the party even fielding candidates this year?
Of course, RP will be the GOP nominee!
Let's Reign! (Rev. 5:10)
No reason for a threat it's a fact...
Look as a staunch independant the GOP can kiss my A$$ and the only reason I am giving them the time of day is because of Ron Paul. Take him out of the picture then I am out of the picture, I will write his name in on the ballad, and if it came down to something like Clinton vs. McCain then you better believe neither one of them is getting my vote and I pray to god there is a third party candidate because if I don't support the candidate then they aren't getting my vote.
This lesser of two evils crap is what has gotten us so far up the creek in the first place. I like what Jesse Ventura said "We have one more option than communist russia..." You get coke or pepsi, Well I tell you dear Ron Paul support I don't drink either product so if I can't get some healthy fresh water then I'm not going to shop at that store.

The Constitution Party or a Ron Paul write in. But as a scare tactic, I think that would strike genuine fear in the boots of the GOP. to threaten a mass exodus to the Dems.
No thanks. I'll be voting
No thanks. I'll be voting for whoever the Republican nominee is.
Fiscal conservatism (relatively speaking) and constructionist Supreme Court appointments are more important than "sending a message" to the GOP because of our failure to sell a libertarian (small-L) Republican candidate to a majority of GOP voters.
You must look into the CFR
http://www.thought-crimin...
All the other candidates work for the CFR, and will implement the CFR agenda, which is the globalist/NWO agenda. The will all destroy our economy (if we still have one by then) and will drag us into the North American Union. That means no national sovereignty and no Constitution. It will be GWB all over again, and we will be finished as a country. They are all equally horrifying. I could not vote for any of them, I refuse to vote for evil this time, or ever again.
If Dr. Paul is not on the ballot, write him in.
