Something has GOT to be done with the speed of this site!

Dear Michael,
While I realize that it must be an almost Herculean task to keep up with this site, it has become so absurdly slow, at almost any time of the day, that I have all but given up trying to come here. Trying to do anything on the Daily Paul has become like swimming in molasses, and is frustrating behind belief.
For example, it took me over ten minutes just to CONNECT to the site right now. Then, over seven minutes to log on. THEN, over five minutes to be able to post this topic. Over fifteen minutes in all, and that does not include trying to read any posts ---- add another two or three minutes for each.
Really, how many visitors or newcomers are going to have the patience to wait SO LONG to even connect, much less try to read anything?
I love this site, but the waiting and slowness are unbearable. Please don't shoot the messenger here, but if something isn't done, I'm afraid the number of visitors here will plummet.

I am on here everyday since I work from home in the IT field, for the last 5 months, 2 months as a registered user, it is not normally this slow. One thing that will help the server run better is to not login unless you are responding or creating posts. This puts less stress on the server as it does not need to keep track of you. I would recommend this whenever we have alot of people on.

Michael supports this site solely out of his pocket. I don't think he can make much money off these stickers and what not other ads.
Did you know that it will cost upwards of $200/month or more likely like $300 to host on a dedicated server or increase bandwidth sufficiently.
There are hundreds of blog/forum Ron Paul sites out there, but this one is by far the best because it has most active and thinking participants.
Even official site fades in comparison as far as forum part goes.
Let's either pitch in to help the man with hosting or be grateful that someone extended the effort to provide great congregating spot for all of us.

You are right --- maybe there should be some donations made here? I don't know anything about running or maintaining a site like this, but regardless, I think we need to acknowledge that it is increasingly swamped and slowed to a crawl, which does nobody any good. I'm not just wanting to complain for the sake of it, but as I originally stated, something needs to be done, however or by whomever that may be.
Have you noticed the number of Users
and Visitors? It is really wonderful that we have so many interested to increase traffic on this Site!
Many thanks to Manystrom, and I know he will upgrade soon. The Ron Paul supporters are growing exponentially! I LOVE IT.
