Why do YOU like Ron Paul? What are your top 3 reasons for being here?
Ron Paul stresses 11 different issues on the official website: http://www.ronpaul2008.co...
That's a lot of issues! As for me, my top 3 reasons for supporting Ron Paul are:
1) Stance on Iraq War. Support of a non-interventionist policy
2) Support of a fair monetary system (no fiat money)
3) Trust. Honesty. Consistency. It's obvious, for instance Hillary makes calculated comments. We can trust what Ron Paul says is what he actually believes.
What are your top 3?

Honestly, I believe in pretty much everything that he says politically. The only things I don't agree with him are some of his personal beliefs, but he's not the kind of guy who would force beliefs on people,
Why I support Ron Paul
Honesty
Trust
knowledge of the issues
Tell this to the world in audio
Wow, this is great! I sure wish you would consider calling into my podcast and saying these very things. You would be calling a voice mail line and recording yourself. The podcast has been coming out about once a week and I will have another episode up later tonight. You can listen to it right on the website.
Here's the website: http://ronpaulfancast.lib...

Tell this to the world of people who don't get on these forums, but are searching for information about Ron Paul. Many, many people have turned to blogs and podcasts for the truth because they know the mainstream media is worthless.
Step up and give it them them! (The truth, that is.)
Thanks,
Diane
1. Non- Interventionist
1. Non- Interventionist foreign policy.
2. Sound Money.
3. Restoring the constitution.
Reply to your 2 Qs taken literally
1) I admire his integrity courage and smarts -- in an attractive package
2) Am here
a) to learn (tons!)
b) to reinforce his devotion to America...and mankind: now there's a word
c) in order to be able to share his message w/ others
Good question
There are many reasons I like Ron Paul.
I guess #1 would be that he cares about my future and the future of my family. And the future of all mankind.
#2 would be putting the reigns back on government so that I can find peace through my own choices.
and #3 would be that he is the bravest man alive.
Go Ron Paul!
My $0.03 worth
1. Freedom. I mind my own business, and you won't be minding mine, and I won't mind yours.
2. America first! There's a whole lotta world out there, and they're gonna have to start taking care of themselves, and we'll take care of ourselves.
3. Reason. Clearly articulated ideas soundly based in realpolitik. Our Constitution as the source of law, and not some statute-crazy politician pandering for votes.
Top three reasons I support Ron Paul.
I did these in reverse order of importance to me personally but but I believe them to be in the right order of an appropriate time line.
3.) He wants to end the Iraq war, and reduce foreign financial and military aid.
2.) He respects individual privacy with opposition to a national ID, security letters, secret prisons, warrantless wiretapping and suspension of habeas corpus.
1.) He supports spending and debt reduction in addition to a more transparent and sound monetary policy.
The only reason I believe anything he says is because he has a long and consistent record of supporting these things.
Number one is the biggest issue for me. Our debt keeps growing and growing and putting all this debt on future generations is just plain wrong.
Only one candidate is talking seriously about reversing this trend of an ever expansive government.
Johnny Rotten knows why...
Ayn Rand knows why too.
My Top Three
1.Freedom
2.No IRS
3.Property Rights
my tops
1 get rid of income tax and federal reserve
2 i want to keep my guns
3 get rid of all the new world order crap, nafta, cafta, wto, UN , NAU, fema, homeland security nazis, FBI, CIA, DEA , patriot act , police state
1. Fiscal conservative. End
1. Fiscal conservative. End most government spending, roll back New Deal, Great Society, Social Security, Medicare.... Restore the constitution
2. Non-interventionism, mind our own business, save lots of money
3. Immigration, protect or sovereignty, culture and borders
4. Pro-gun...
3 reasons
1. Ron Paul's Integrity- He can not be bought.
2. Fiscal responsibility- Our government's ongoing irresponsible spending and the jeopardizing of our Social Security funds.
3. Iraq war- Another example of Ron Paul's courage and intelligence.
Constitution!
1. Principled. Voting using the Constitution as a guide is the mark of a statesman, not a politician.
2. Paleoconservative philosophy. Dr. Paul is a libertarian without being suckered into thinking libertarian must equal libertine.
3. State's rights. Dr. Paul is interested in giving power back to the states so that local sovereignty san be reasserted in this republic. Let Vermont be Vermont and Georgia be Georgia, and all of the sudden the left/right hatred in this country is defused.
A small response to the poster above.
1. Abortion is the ultimate in non-libertarian action for those that believe life begins at conception. Libertarian philosophy doesn't let people kill others for convenience. Don't agree? We don't have to, but on abortion reasonable people can differ. Support Paul and vote your opinion at the state level.
2. Don't confuse hypotheticals with reality. Sure, if everyone in government always respected the Constitution weapons might well not be needed. Problem is, human nature dictates that power will lust for more power. We'll always need the recourse to revolution because the state will never be able to be completely trusted because of human frailty.
3. Some of our nation's best statesmen were far more frail than Dr. Paul. This simply shouldn't matter. What he lacks in Schwartzenegger-ness he makes up for in sheer conviction.
OOPS!
or below.
Man, I'm so 20th Century!
My top 3
1) Dr. Paul's stance on reducing our foreign occupations and fixing our relationships with other nations from both an economic and moral stand point.
2) His understanding that as individuals we should have the right to make decisions in our life good or bad, and that the government should protect our freedom to live our lives.
3) His stance on war, particularly when we should go to war and also the requirement that war must be declared by congress.
123
War
IRS
Real limited Govt.
Top 3
1) Guns- This is what first got me hooked on RP. Home protection is a necessity, and, in the worst scenarios, what other defense would we have against an overbearing government?
2)Taxes- abolish income tax etc.
3)Non-Interventionist foreign policy
Edit: How could I forget the all-encompassing message of liberty?
Top 3 Reasons are
His integrity of abiding by the Constitution as a U.S. Congressmen and as
our next President
His understanding of Freedom and how valuable it is to our Republic
His honesty on all issues where he studies each with the Constitution as his guide, this man as has been proven has changed thinking on only
one issue and that is the death penalty that is remarkable these days
and times in Washington, DC
Top 3 Reasons
Honesty,Constitutional Stance,Leads by Example!!!!
Top 3 reasons
1) Abolish modern-day slavery (IRS and the income tax)
2) Restore fiscal responsibility (eliminate the Federal Reserve)
3) Economic efficiency (restoration to capitalism)
Top 3 reasons I dislike Ron Paul, but am voting for him no-matter-what-because-the-Top-3-significantly-outweigh-these
1) Stance on Abortion (how about we protect the life, liberty and pursuit of happiness of people that are already here?
2) Guns -- I understand the Constitutional purpose for having these...but under a Constitutionally-limited-government, do we need them and does having them exceed the civil outcroppings?
3) He may be too humble and self-effacing to be perceived as a leader. Clearly he is, but this perception... my perception... could hurt him in the race.
LOL
I like him because he is NOT a world socialist...
What. You don't like guns? You're no fun. :-)
