CNN's 'The McRomney Show'

CNN billed it as a "debate" but it was really just a showcase for McCain and Romney to bicker and argue amongst themselves about irrelevant issues. It was CNN's McRomney show. The old media has already made up its mind about who the so called "front runners" are, and they are attempting to brainwash the general public. But the old media is not all powerful. Remember, tonight's show used to be called the Rudy McRomney show. What ever happened to that guy? For all its efforts, the old media couldn't get us to swallow Rudy as anything more than just a fringe candidate.

People, the old media isn't going to do it for us. In fact -- as you can see -- they're going to actively resist us. We have to be Ron Paul's media, going door to door and talking to people about Ron Paul. Go to the campaign site and sign up to become a precinct leader. You'll get a list of Independent and Republican citizens in your neighborhood. Go out and meet them. Give them literature. Talk to them. Get to them this weekend, just before the big vote in Super Tuesday states. You saw what we get from the old media: More of the same. The endless McRomney show. We must be the new media, spreading the news the old fashioned way -- one person at a time.

Further, the campaign should consider a one-on-one debate with Mike Huckabee. Huckabee made it clear how frustrated he was as well during tonight's McRomney Show. Huckabee differs little from the other two, so it would be an excellent chance for Dr. Paul to get his views out and contrast them with so-called "mainstream" ideas. The debate could simply be put up online, and would of course be an instant internet sensation. I'm sure Mike would like to get in on some of the r3VOLution's attention. Most importantly, it would force old media institutions like CNN to change their ways from merely presenting their favorite candidates, to actually engaging in real debate.

In the interest of increased public discourse and education, I hope that both the Paul & Huckabee campaigns will consider such a plan.

"LIES like ANDERSON COOPER" is the phrase to SPREAD

Insert this phrase in your daily conversations.

For examples:

"Oh, no, don't LIE like ANDERSON COOPER."

"He's a liar like ANDERSON COOPER."

"Promise? You aren't LYING like ANDERSON COOPER, are you?"

And everyone, DO NOT become a LIAR like ANDERSON COOPER.

Clueless

McCain is clueless. Ron Paul, as we know, on the other hand is brilliant:

John Mccain responses

Is it just me or does it seem like Mccain is reading straigt out of a teleprompter??

Why they don't understand the constitution

The reason people are not upset about the trashing of the constitution is because they don't understand it. The constitution was written by men who read and understood the Bible (in several different languages). They used biblical principals to construct the constitution. I doubt if any of the candidates let alone most of the voters ever read their Bible or understand it.

It was offensive to see Dr Paul and Huckabee marginalized

I also noticed that McCain seems to have some emotional disorder.
His "shit eating" grins and strange body language looks to me to be a reflection of something not quite right inside his mind.

To me he looks like a dangerous person to be in a position of power. Fortunately, I don't think that any of the Republicans other than Dr. Paul could defeat the Democrats, particularly if Obama, the candidate of "change" manages to knock off Hillary.

This was a strange debate where the trivial seemed to take center stage. Nero fiddles as Rome burns.

Democratic Debate

I wrote the campaign that Dr. Paul should take up the invitation to debate with the Democrats! More air time and attract some independents and Democrats for those of us in open primary states. Plus, Im sure it will get a few of MSM to start writing and talking about him. Flood the campaign with requests for him to debate tonight!

The Paul/Huckabee idea is

The Paul/Huckabee idea is interesting, but I doubt Mike would agree to it. Based on this last debate, he wants to be taken seriously alongside McRomney -- not be further marginalized alongside Paul.

And if Paul were to propose this to Huckabee, it would be like saying, "Hey, since the cool kids wouldn't let me play in their sandbox, I made my own. You're welcome to join me!" That would make Paul look like a loser who's basically accepted that he'll never be one of those cool kids.

Boycott CNN

Let's hit them in the pocket book. The only thing they understand. Anybody have their email address so I can inform them they just lost a viewer?

The Mannequin and the Manchurian Candidate

My perception is that the Huckster is there to siphon off conservative votes from Ron Paul from those who don't understand the Big Picture. Either the Mannequin or the Manchurian Candidate are acceptable to the globalists. The CNN (Old Media -CFR) used this "debate" to showcase its two Republican candidates. Either of the two Democrat candidates are acceptale to them.

As long as one of those four candidates gets elected, nothing will change. More wars, more spending, more deficits, more inflation and less freedom.

Nancy Reagan

I wonder if Nancy Reagan noticed how her Husband's name was trashed and the sham that occured last night in his Library.

I really hope she stands up and tells off CNN for this sham, though probably not :(

Supposedly she is supporting

Supposedly she is supporting McCain. Perhaps she could have her astrologers help him out on economics, foreign policy, and history.

Paul vs. Huckabee

It could be the PayPerView event of the century .

Federalist #8

McCain and Romney need to read it.

Maybe they think Paul is foolish, but can they say they are wiser than the authors of the Constitution?

"The violent destruction of life and property incident to war, the continual effort and alarm attendant on a state of continual danger, will compel nations the most attached to liberty to resort for repose and security to institutions which have a tendency to destroy their civil and political rights. To be more safe, they at length become willing to run the risk of being less free."

"It is of the nature of war to increase the executive at the expense of the legislative authority."

"The perpetual menacings of danger oblige the government to be always prepared to repel it; its armies must be numerous enough for instant defense. The continual necessity for their services enhances the importance of the soldier, and proportionably degrades the condition of the citizen. The military state becomes elevated above the civil. The inhabitants of territories, often the theatre of war, are unavoidably subjected to frequent infringements on their rights, which serve to weaken their sense of those rights; and by degrees the people are brought to consider the soldiery not only as their protectors, but as their superiors. The transition from this disposition to that of considering them masters, is neither remote nor difficult; but it is very difficult to prevail upon a people under such impressions, to make a bold or effectual resistance to usurpations supported by the military power."

Why I Joined the Revolution

I thought Dr. Paul knocked it out of the park last night with the time he was given. There's one huge point that I haven't heard articulated yet, & it's the reason why I joined the revolution.

I've never connected with either Democrat or Republican party -- or more accurately I should say I never connected with liberals or neo-conservatives. The reason I joined this revolution is based on government intervention. The liberals want government intervention in domestic issues i.e. welfare, healthcare, education, etc. & the neo-cons, who've controlled the Republican party for too long, want government intervention in foreign policy. Both sides argue that the answer to both our domestic and foreign problems is MORE government intervention! This point is layed out brilliantly by Llewellyn H. Rockwell Jr. in the foreward to Dr. Paul's A Foreign Policy of Freedom book. For anyone who hasn't gotten it yet, I highly recommend it.

I wish this point of government intervention both domestically & overseas would be hit home. The reason we're in such sad shape here & abroad is because of government intervention -- how can more government intervention be the answer? This is the position of the founding fathers & all we're saying is, let's follow guidelines they gave us! Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I just haven't heard this point articulated in any of the debates -- linking both parties together by a common thread, more government intervention & then proposing a totally different approach, the one our founding fathers layed out for us.

"I hope our wisdom will grow with our power, and teach us that the less we use our power the greater it will be." - Thomas Jefferson

Thank you for your time.

great post

He did mention the fact that the government should not run the economy but let the people and market direct it. What I like about your post is the way you articulate this concept as domestic noninterventionism, which unifies the entire concept. There is no one like Ron Paul out there except Ron Paul!

To: Kent Skates

Just want to say---an excellent post!!

He did

During this debate he plainly stated he didn't think the President should be running the economy or running out lives in a great way. I hope it opened up many peoples eyes. Sadly few people ever watch these debates, remember when they used to be broadcasted on major over the air networks, now its on news stations that only news junkies watch, while everyone else is watching "Dancing with the Stars"

mirror image

let us make some you tube style commercials w/ the pundits marginalizing Ron Paul's issues and marginalizing the constitution and the will of the people and end it w/ "pundits dont pick presidents we the people do "

p.s. it would be helpful to mention which war profiting companies own these media outlets

Great IDEA, and GREAT tagline....DO IT!

We could all definately make this go viral and worldwide...all our friends in Europe would help in this effort too. This would make alot of press in the nations.

Please do it.

My take on Ron Paul and the three Stalinists...

Just a few of my thoughts on what I could only call Ron Paul and the three Stalinists on stage.

Obviously, CNN's "debate" format coupled with the performances of Anderson Cooper and the two corporate drones from Politico and the LA Times created an atmosphere that was hostile to any appearance of fairness or propriety and was nothing but an episode of discrimination and prejudice toward the one non-Corporate Military-Industrial Media-blessed, non-CFR-styled candidate, Congressman Ron Paul (and, ironically, one theocratic-war-preacher from Arkansas).

What took place last night at the Reagan Presidential Library was a disgusting and obscene fraud. It was an affront to American representative democracy that what was portrayed as a "debate" while in reality was nothing but a form of mass-mind control.

That said, it was a testament to the leadership, integrity and strength of the Honorable Dr. Ron Paul to deliver his message as clearly as he did in the midst of so much knuckle-dragging.

I realized last night that a great deal can be learned from what was omitted from the rhetoric of the Stalinists on that stage with Ron Paul last night.

None of the CFR-styled candidates (Hucklebuck, Willard, or "Keating Five" McCain) has the courage or honesty to discuss the fraudulent Federal Reserve Banking system like Dr. Paul does. None of the NeoCons on that stage would dare to debate the merits of the American Empire (or even call it what it is). They are all COWARDS in their abdication of these issues. Apparently, some people in America would like to elect one of these lemmings as Commander-In-Chief. Not I.

They talk about cutting taxes and cutting spending, but only Ron Paul talks the talk and walks the walk. Ron Paul was the only soul on that stage with the honesty and integrity to lead this country back to greatness.

I also wanted to add that I recall Anderson Cooper making the remark at the end of the debate that the Democrats would debate on Thursday and made the remark in passing, jokingly, that any of those Republican candidates were invited to the Democratic Debate. I would urge Ron Paul to take up CNN on this offer and sit with Obama and Clinton tonight. What do you think?

"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." -John F. Kennedy

Obama vs Clinton vs Paul

I completely agree. He needs the public attention right now before heading into Super Tuesday and what a headliner that would be! He would be able to insert some contrasting views to what are pretty similar policies that Obama and Clinton bring up. He may even get some converts.

The media could not ignore this, its too sensational. Though, I doubt CNN would actually let him do it.

If the Founders had given up so easily

We wouldn't have this country. Hang tough, people.

Foundations

The founders tried to build upon good land and set good foundations.
If Ron Paul don't win this they might have just as well built their foundations on a swamp. -Swamped with dollars and paved with disenchanted slave workers and alligators chomping at your ankles for more and more taxes. I say taser those alligators and pave your pavements with gold my friends.

Mc Cain is an alligator
he took my legs away,
I got up and shouted-
I hope you get indegestion
and suffer all this day

Ron Paul gave me new ones
I said 'thank you very much'
Lets go do lunch - he said
- but we're to have- to- go -do Dutch.

I don't have any dollars left,
they were in my trouser pocket'
He said OK,- I'll pay- with the money saved.
I have gotton tons of cash left-
'on cancelling that nuclear rocket'.

What I would like to see..

...is someone make a Youtube video either in the form of a Saturday Night Live skit showing how rediculous CNN, FOX and the others have been.

or

A youtube video showing a short debate giving Dr. Paul all the air time and over exagerating the lack of time given to Mitt and McCain.

Think back over the years. One of the best ways to draw attention to something is to be satirical about it as to draw attention to what is unjust. Besides, we need some humor in our camp. Yes, the cause is a serious one but anger and frustration will drain a persons moral as fast as anything.

I like this idea for a youtube video

I wish I had the skill set to produce it myself.

I think it would be great to just allow McCain enough time to mutter about "Pork Barrel spending, Bridge to nowhere, radical islamic extremism" and of course doing his name dropping. He's already a self parody and been horrible in the debates -- I can't see how anyone can watch his performances and walk away impressed.

Romney is much slicker and polished, but his biggest flaw in debating is that he will rarely answer the question. He will talk about anything under the sun to avoid directly answering the question. So I would emphasize that aspect.

Huck is just a flat out hypocrite and I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to splice together segments of his pro-war rhetoric with his all-loving phony religious b.s.

You could use all debate-sourced content and be pretty successful I would think.

Great Ideas

If someone makes these youtubes we can make them go viral!

Huckster

Yeah, it's BS, but I wish Dr. Paul had 1/2 of his oratorical skills. The final line about whether Reagan would have endorsed any of the candidates was masterful. I voted for Reagan in '88, and he's still an icon to me. Huckster's comments almost had me going.

Try again!

Reagan wasn't running in '88. GH Bush was.

"Welcome to 2008: The Year of Ron Paul!"

1988?

Hmm. If memory serves, I voted for Ron Paul.

Don't underestimate the public

Huckabee did Ron Paul a big favor by speaking out about how many questions and how much time each candidate was getting. I'm confident it was quite obvious to those watching that Ron Paul and Huckabee were being ignored. The seating arrangement was perfect for this. If Ron Paul would have said the same thing Huck said - -you know the media would twist it into RP complaining. This scenario worked out great for RP.

Ron Paul 2008 - dontate tomorrow! Feb 1

Great Idea!

"Many of us agree that you and I have no right to use coercion against people who don't owe us anything. The same prohibition applies to groups of people who constitute the government. The reason is simple: unjust acts do not become just when legalized."

The Tortice is closing in on the Hare's--A new Reality Show!

Like frogs in a slow simmer...the Hare's are about to roast.

Is it me, or does it seem that Ron Paul is the only adult on the stage?

A friend of mine called me while the debate was going on...he was so upset with the way CNN was directing the debate. I told him to hang in till the end of this debate and till the end of this election. Ron Paul represents our views and he is doing a great job.

Me? I probably would have walked off stage. My wife had a better idea... she said, "What do you think they would have all done if Ron pulled out a deck of cards and began playing Solitaire?"
Or began making cell phone calls while McCain-Romney bickered.

A new Reality Show is in the Makiing

Once again...

Ron Paul says a lot by being direct and correct.
Newsweek praised Ron Paul for being the only one on stage that sounded like a person. They also praised him for having the moment of the night (which is what people remember).

They criticized Huckabee for taking what little time he had to say he had little time. They also called Huckabee "sappy".

I think Huck is great VP material, not President, we don't need a sappy president. But with Ron Paul being the straight shooter and Huck being the comedy act I think this could be a good team.

http://www.blog.newsweek....

I could say "I told you so", but it would be nice to just send a present to Anderson anyway, wouldn't it?

That seems to be the best strategy

I've read some comments on this forum where they slam Ron Paul for not being aggressive enough in these debates, they claim that he isn't assertive enough to be President. I disagree. I know Ron Paul can be aggressive if he wants to, it seems he has learned that isn't a good strategy. If you don't believe me, then take a look at this 1988 video: http://youtube.com/watch?...

Agree...

I agree completely. We have to realize that this video is the reason he was weary of running for president in '08. When they call you "crazy" at every turn the last thing you want to do is act "crazy."

Two converts from the debate! It was old media blowback.

I watched the debate with a couple from Montana that didn't know who Ron Paul was. She had liked Mccain because of his prisoner days.
They were completely turned off by the Mccain Romney show. They were offended by Anderson's blatant lying and cutting Ron Paul off.
He left disgusted, because he wanted to hear more of RP. Her comment was she now knew two she wouldn't vote for and that she was going to google Ron Paul.
They felt he was the only one who behaved like a gentleman.

Ron Paul : Graceful under pressure ; CNN : Sinister Media

Ron Paul still play by the rule even though the Rule is unfair, and that's great. This is just another TV Show. The Ground War is the one that really determines the voters.

Like His economic policy he believe on the Supply Side, not the manipulation of aggregate demand.

Go Ron Paul!! Very wise is He Obi Ron Kenobi.

CNN Super Tuesday Debate

My wife and I are RP supporters and have given his campaign at least $1K. I first met Dr. Paul 10 years ago at a Libertarian Conference in California and have periodically contributed to his Congressional Campaigns and to his Tax Exempt Foundation. We have been very hopeful that he would be able to break through the box the MSM would like to keep him in. His breaking through that box would begin the process by which all of us who also live in a similar box could have hope of break out of our individual boxes too. Much more than winning the White House, restoring our voice, our capacity to assert our fundemental natures and sentiments are of the highest importance to us. It is in that act of self-assertion that we, as others before us, have discovered our own personal humanity. Leadership is by example. The man at the point is willing to take the first bullet. Dr. Paul dogged that bullet tonight. My wife and I were very disappointed. He is just too damned polite. He was so polite that he appeared unmanly. As my wife pointed out, his ankles were crossed and his feet were not on the ground. This is not the body lanquage of top dog in the pack. For a long period of time he had his hand held halfway up asking for attention, but his hand was drooping on his wrist. He looked like a neglected child. Given the circumstances, Dr. Paul was in his rights to stand on the table and stamp his feet, but instead he was in his best school boy behavior - submissive and without a clear sense of charisma and intent. He had three opportunities to attack, but he most fell into a prescripted set of disjunctive statements, whose in coherence made them forgetable. My wife, who is a very perceptive and successful Psychotherapist though that he looked either exhausted or lost in some Adaptive Child ego state. During the debate, we continually wonder if "they" had gotten to him like they did to Ross Perot in 1992. Perhaps Dr. Paul has too many children and grandchildren to face down the likes of McCain. I can understand that. He is out on a limb with no security and insufficient young manly company to keep him fired up for the battle at hand. (During his long fasts, Gandi slept between young virgins to convect energy into his frail old body.) Dr. Paul needs some masculine fire for the road ahead, enough to kick him out of his comfort zone into the battle zone of these debates and this campaign. At my family's table, if you wanted to be heard you had to raise your voice and then hammer your point home. It was a rough and tumble table, but it all hung out. People can't believe it when my sister and I get together, it is so intense and truthfull. It is time for Dr. Paul to stop being the Mr. Nobody that the MSM wishes him to be and become a jackhammer for 5 to 10 coherent and conjuctive ideas and action plans. He needs to hammer them so hard into the thick heads of the American electorate that they hear them in their sleep. If he is not up to the fury and passion this movement requires, then we need new direction and new leadership. This task ahead of us will take a generation to accomplish, 20 years at least. Nice guys will finish where they always do. To win, we will have to get up out of our chairs and make our points known, whether they give us permission to or not. Let the old guard know that if they don't give us the time we deserve at the mike, we will take to the streets (think the Democrats in 1968) as a Conservative/Classsical Liberal 3rd Party type movement for as long as it takes to turn the Republican Party into dust.

Shameful!

Nobody in Washington has been more courageous, correct, and direct than Dr. Ron Paul and you think that he was not manly. His only attraction is that he is honest, tells the truth, has been consistent on positions, and bases his politics on principles otherwise his debating skills have never been significantly better than the mumbling Mccain. He is a gentleman not a power-hungry politician who will do anything and say anything to get to the white house.

We all feel disappointed and dejected when he receives third-class treatment from the media but if there is anyone who must be more frustrated and dejected towards this treatment, it is Ron Paul himself. And he has not been facing this treatment not since last year but for years and years not like we YouTubers who have realized media bias only since the invention of YouTube. It takes a truly courageous MAN to face all this and never to give up.

One has to understand that Ron Paul, a 72 years old grandfather, is not a performer on debates but rather a truth-teller and straight-talker despite being completely marginalized on every debate by moderators. Perhaps your wife could use her psychotherapy skills to analyze the psychopaths in the media and the lazy idiots who don't understand his message.

Your post, may be technically crafty, was offensive and I am angry enough to tell you this: SHAME ON YOU for turning your back on Dr. Ron Paul for his 30 years of service.

30 seconds versus 2 minutes

It has everything to do with the time allotted, not some 100 year old psychoanalysis. He is unable to form coherent 30 second arguments. When he was given 2 minutes he blew them away. His best debate, like 2 or 3 ago, was the one where he was given more time.

I believe

that you are right, but on the flip side, I hope it made alot of people's minds up on who they are not voting for. Who could picture either one of those babbling idiots in office? Obviously the media and the powers that be. I pray that RP and his advisors stratagy works in the days and months ahead. This grass fire needs a little wind and I think the hot air from last night will be HUGE!! GO RON PAUL!!! http://www.fourwinds10.co...

I emjoyed

reading your post, and the insight your wifes background offered. I noticed some of the things you spoke about too. I wonder though if there is anything that could be done about. I think back to when I read Pat Buchanans "Proposed" strategy for Dr. Paul, and he said many of the same things.

Previously known as DCALIFANO

comment to cnn

Your so called debate was a sham, an outrageous display of censorship against Ron Paul. You have utterly lost your reputation as a real news agency and if I worked for you I would be puking in the bathroom out of disgust. This is unamerican and you are a disgrace to the journalistic profession.

google news sucks

Does anyone know how to reach the bozos who control www.google.news.com? WHO ARE THEY ANYWAY?

They almost NEVER run articles which include Ron Paul, and when they do, those articles are usually dismissive or denigrating of Paul and his supporteres. Tonight was unbelievable. Google news posted no less than 5 articles on the primaries/caucuses, and not once, in any of them, was there a word about Ron! Even the lead article, about the narrowing GOP field, named only two of the remaining candidates. And I don't have to tell you which two.

Google news has readership in the millions and millions. I, for one, want to call them to task. We need to get on their case about their blatant discrimination against the people's candidate, Ron Paul. WE are the internet, not those cowardly half-wits at google news.

How do we get to them? I can't wait, I'm spitting fire!

google news clarification

Actually the Google News Page just canvases the web for news articles from (other sources) as well as those who send Google News Feeds from their websites. So you can't blame Google. If you read those news articles where you "Search" for Ron Paul, they are most always from smaller sites that do not get as much traffic. Google Displays results based on many factors, page rank, volume of traffic, keyword density, etc..etc..

The sad truth is, that many of the big media news websites are the ones that are the highest ranking and these are the same sites that marginalize Ron Paul at best but usually do not even report on him.

That is why you don't see many news articles on Ron Paul.

Just do a search on the news of Google for "Ron Paul" and look at the article count...
http://news.google.com/ne... (about 27K)

Now do that for the others, you will notice they have 60 to 70,000 articles.

Even the Ghoulster who dropped out, has almost 58K articles still!

My $.02
