The majority of voters are the 55+ bunch, which I'm part of. Just about 80% of this group has no idea who RON PAUIL is ! This is the biggest nut to crack, and with 4 days left to SUPER TUESDAY...........We need about another 200,000 precinct leaders. And why not?
My little brain can't figure out why the MSM wouldn't gather that people would have more money during President Ron Paul's administration, more money to spend buying things from their advertisers, with no IRS. Maybe you can help me understand exactly what their problem is? I figure, possibly mass chronic constipation from blind, irrational fear but something tells me it's probably more complex than that.
God is still in control...
Watch "Endgame" by Alex Jones if you haven't already--his facts can a little fuzzy at times but the overall picture is pretty accurate. It's on Google video in one whole segment. Youtube breaks it up in 12 parts. 2hrs. 19min. total.
The complex is how "they" are doing what they are doing.
The simple is: It's all about one world gov't. with a reduced world population of 500,000,000+- with "them" in total control of it all. It's not about money as much as it is about power and the insane quest for immortality or, at least increased longevity.
If you go out and canvas just your neighborhood, you can most likely convert a very large percentage for RP. If you have the ability to go face to face and convert lets say 50 people, can you honestly say that you can convert 50 people on your email list by just sending video and article links. Sorry to upset you bloggers, but why many people are out knocking on doors, handing out flyers, bloggers are doing nothing but bickering like he McRomney episodes. Face to face is the only way to show someone that you are passionate about RP. Primary after primary, caucus after caucus we keep expecting different results.
"Insanity is doing something over and over expexting a different result"
Get off your ass and canvas!
I did, and my county (Nye Cty, Nevada) actually won.

The reality is as follows: If Dr. Paul received the amount of coverage that even Huckabee receives, he'd be winning and the dominant force. And don't anyone think for one second that the MSM is not fully aware of this fact! Herein lies our (the supporters of Dr. Paul) major obstacle
Sablearms, you are proving my point! Now get your ass out there on the streets and start preaching your message! =)
Do it face to face rather in a blog, or commenting in posts or emails. Tell it like it is to the people who do not know, not to the supporters of Ron Paul!
Look, I know what you're saying and you're pissed -- and I feel the same way! Believe me, we may have different strategies, but our message is loud and clear, and this is what I wish everyone would do. We need to stop wasting time on each other and talk to people who have no idea who Ron Paul is.
GET OUT THERE PEOPLE AND TAKE YOUR ARGUMENTS TO THE STREETS! TELL PEOPLE TO VOTE FOR RON PAUL!!!
tanks is saying we need to be out with boots on the ground talking to people on the street not just to internet bloggers (which is like preaching to the choir).
dont u see that u r thinking, saying, doing exactly what the MSM wants u to? im sorry, but if u still believe in the integrity of polls and vote results, then i have no more to say. the establishment has gone to great lengths to make everyone BELIEVE that there is no "real world" support for ron paul. in actuality, the support is being censored. if the support is censored, then they become justified in censoring HIM. the format of the primaries is not an accident. it's designed to make establishment candidates look like "frontrunners" before they actually are.
Dude, go out and Canvass -- that is what I am saying. You can save the speech for the masses when he gets into office, but to make a dent in this game at this point, we need to talk to people. That is the message... and if you're NOT canvassing, then it's YOU, my friend, who is falling prey to the media and proving exactly what they are saying.
The media isn't going to cover Ron Paul. You can make allegations all you want, you provide me with proof and I'll believe you, you can give me a document and say "Sign this to end Media Distortion" and I'll sign it -- but what I won't do is preach your message to the masses at this moment in time. My mission is clear, as yours should be too, FOCUS ON RON PAUL -- NOTHING ELSE MATTERS!
Regardless, I appreciate your passion and respect your input. Many of us are so passionate with so many different ideals -- which is why RP has the best supporters than any other candidate.
agreed! i didnt mean for my post to sound defeatist. even if the voting system is fixed, and the MSM continues the censorship, the message needs to be heard. even if we differ in our faith in the voting system, if people see and hear the message, then action will inevitably follow. one way or the other, canvass on! spread the message!
35% of the voters in the last election were 55 and over. The number one issue for seniors is health care. They might care about the war, give lip service to taxes, have views on abortion, but the issue of health care eclipses them all. As someone who has parents in the late 60s, seemingly ALL they talk about is co-pays, donut holes, etc...
Let's be frank...Dr. Paul's views on health care are NOT what most seniors want to hear. They want lower co pays and cheaper drugs, period!
So what's my point? Well that's the second prong of Dr. Paul's strategy. Our real hope is raising awareness on how the younger generation is getting SCREWED and to prepare candidates in the revolution for that time when the baby boomers don't represent such an insurmountable obstacle.
I agree, we should be recruiting and working on the younger generation most of all ---- if we have the time, the older, more statist government-loving generations will simply die off. If we can make a majority of those in their 20's and 30's realize the insanity of the current system, the battle will be all but won.
We all know the possibilities! But, this is the kind of garbage that runs through this site almost continuously! Negative upon negative, its sickening!
Folks trying to make some sort of big statement, some big announcement! Trying to get some attention!
Reeks with on-off negativity throughout, its sad!
What is it with all the "negative bashing". Tank makes a relevant point. Talking to people face-to-face out in the streets is incredibly more effective than posting stuff on blogs that only a tiny segment of the population reads or even know exists.
Tank makes a good point. His post is not decorated with psychedelic spinning flowers and brady bunch music and happy happy smiley faces but his point is right on.
"Negative bashing" itself can be harmful and QUITE negative and discouraging.
It's a negative for Ron Paul that so many bloggers think that typing on a keyboard in blogs is going to significantly expand Ron Paul's base.
We have already gleaned the internet. That happened early early in the campaign. The MAJORITY of potential new Ron Paul supporters are people who never read political blogs or who don't use the internet at all.
Tank is just saying we need boots on the ground talking to real people on real streets not just in the virtual world.
Did you make it past the title and read the article itself? Doesn't seem like it.
Tanks point is relevant and in my opinion correct.
I don't appreciate reverse psychology. Our minds are played with enough! But, I will admit that the moment I saw the title I blew up. I hate these negative titles! And there quite frequent on this site! I wasn't impressed with the article, the subject could and has been better written!
It's subjective. What you see as a negative I see as a positive. You said it yourself, you got bent out of shape when you saw that title -- and you should get angry! I want EVERYONE to get angry and take that energy and hit the damn streets! Because sitting on your butt getting upset, wasting your energy typing to me when you could be out there talking about Ron Paul is what seems to me as being Negative.
The campaign knows this, why did they ask us to sign up as Precinct leaders? Canvassing works. Senior Citizens vote---talk to them! Then on election day---Get Out The Vote! Drive voters to the polls, go for coffee after voting, have an after after-voting Pizza and beer party, whatever but Get the voters to the polls. Where this was done in Iowa, we won, in Florida, we came in 2nd, and so on....
Everything else is just BS. If they can keep us running around with our panties in a twist over Sean Hannity or Anderson Cooper, they know we'll lose. That is the REAL CONSPIRACY people and we're buying it hook line and sinker.
Ron Paul is a threat to the establishment, and he is getting in the way of "how they do things". The election charade initially gives us a virtual plethora of choices, and those choices are whittled down to a select few establishment/CFR choices via the shams that take place IA, NH, SC, LA, WY, NV, MI, and FL. So, the rest of the country will eventually only have a small choice of establishment/CFR candidates to choose from. It is absolute control, and it is presented via the MSM in a way that gives us the illusion of choice. The establishment losers (Guiliani, Thompson, etc...) all bow out gracefully, as they know that they are serving the greater good aka the establishment/CFR. Let's face it, any candidate who is really in it to win it will scratch and claw and stay in as long as possible (like our man Ron Paul). If there is any good to come from the current puppet show, it will take the shape of a much more informed public who ultimately demands that REAL change be made.......whether Ron Paul gets elected or not (I assume the latter). Thanks to Ron Paul for waking many Americans up from their slumber and educating them as to what our system is all about and alerting them to the changes that need to take place if we are to ultimately succeed. The Ron Paul Revolution will go down in history as the movement which exposed the establishment and media for what they are.........UnAmerican liars and crooks. We now know who our enemies really are.
Over half of the delegates will be awarded by Feb 5th, and as someone below mentioned, canvassing is not always that successful - like in New Hampshire. Very likely McCain sews it up on Tuesday.
The only serious way that Canvassing will help is with a 3rd party run. That way we can bring in Independents, as well as some Democrats plus there is more time to cover more ground.
With McCain and Hillary, there is bound to be revulsion at the terrible choice...There has never been an opportunity to break the two party dictatorship that we have...SOMEBODY if not Ron,must run on a 3rd Party and encourage conservatives out of the GOP to help them...
Sure in just a few days you can't talk to many voters, but what CAN you do. Remember most voters vote on emotion. Just two days before the election here in Florida in my precinct I put 2 slimjims on EVERY mailbox flag of the addresses on my list, I then put signs 100 feet in each direction from the voting booth to re-register the memory in their minds. Did it work? I don't know, precinct information was not released. But if just a small portion of the mailboxes I tagged gave Paul a vote it was worth it.
I disagree. Canvassing does work and it worked in Nevada. I can't say about New Hampshire because I don't know. Just give it a try and see the results -- you'll be amazed as to how many people are clueless to who Ron Paul is. And when you talk about him, they are fascinated because many people don't like any of the candidates but feel pressured into picking the lesser of two evils. This election is very strange -- as I've never seen so many people who are still very undecided. Please, just try it if you can. :-)
The only way we can lose is to forget that we are winning!
Many of us have been busting our asses for months! I will NOT, at this point become pessimistic and buy into your bullshit headline. You're an asshole for posting it. You could have worded it differently and been just as effective. You got your attention. Happy?
The biggest thing that will kill the campaign is people sitting on their butts blogging, and preaching to the choir.
If you aren't working on ways to get new VOTERS on board than you are not helping.
This is why I have been canvassing from the beginning. I knew the MSM was not going to help us and knew it was up to us to convert those in the dark...
This is in conjunction with travels to straw polls, and thousands in donations,(which I did not have to spare).
The second biggest thing that will kill the campaign are the people that think RP or his staff can do no wrong.
Certain persons in KEY positions have failed,at GREAT EXPENSE.
Mainly in the advertising dept.
His Ads are deplorable, and YES I could do better....a 6th grader could...
His HQ has not used the grassroots in a proper manner and are now making futile attempts to do what should have been done months ago.
The grassroots is to blame as well as many have been over confident( as the article stated).
Anyway, I am taking the night off from canvassing,to attend "the Liberty Ball" here in Austin, Texas
It is time to get up from your computer and get onto the streets. I have been doing this from a wheelchair,It has not been easy, but it was not easy for our forefathers to gain independence for our great nation..
You will be the one you have to face in the mirror when the dust settles...
but, it makes me wonder why we were so ineffective in NH? Wasn't New Hampshire swamped with Paul supporters walking the streets 3-4 weeks prior to the election?
I suspect that the reason Paul will not win is b/c the media has cast him as a kook. and, they have been very effective.
The # 1 reason that Paul will not win is b/c 55% of the people in this country are on the dole in some fashion or another. I read that statistic somewhere so dont hold me to it.
It has become very apparent, to me at least, that the people of this country do not want to be free. Why would you want to be free when you're retired and your sucking off of the Social Security nipple and us postal service or military pension at the same time. A vote for RP would be like cutting your own throat. At least that is how it is portrayed.
I think the old people of this country have it made. For the first time in history there has been a massive transfer of wealth from the productive youth to the unproductive eldery. What a scam. What an effective scam.
That, my friends (mcsain), is why he won't win. It's sad, sad, sad.
the majority of people have lost sight about what freedom really is and entails. Personal responsibility goes along with it. Risk and reward.
People have chosen the security of the nanny state. Got a problem? The government will take care of you. We've got so many safety nets we can't move. The 55% you mention sounds high. Seems like I've read 40%, but then that's just people sucking entitlements. Add to that corporate subsidies, agricultural subsidies and government boondoggles like corn ethanol, and military industrial complex welfare....just about the entire population has been tied into the "something for nothing" psychology.
Absolutely the biggest hurdle Dr. Paul faces among the voters.
My dad is about to lose his home because my mom died from cancer due no health care and he can't pay for the mortgage -- she was only 60! No health care because they couldn't afford it. Now my dad is claiming bankruptcy, can't get a full time job because the Government will take away half of his social security if he does work (he retired at 64 due to health probs, which is why!) and yet he gets out there and knocks on doors to get people to vote for Ron Paul. Trust me, the elderly are getting it worse than the young -- but they don't realize it until something bad happens.
I can give you an example in the opposite extreme. I used to live in Corona Del Mar, CA. Very swanky little beach town in Newport. Allot of folks moved there in the late 50's early 60's and payed about $25,000 for a beach on the east side of coast highway. So, they are about 1/4 mile from the beach after crossing PCH. The houses on the west side of PCH were running from $35K to $50K at the time. I rented a small apartment above the garage from an old lady living on the east side of coast highway.
The houses now on the east side of PCH run at least $1mil plus. On the west side of PCH about 1.5 to 2 Mil +. My point is this woman payed virutually nothing for her house. Maybe 3-4 times their earnings in 1955..yes, expensive at the time but resonable.
She was a retired teacher. Pension
She had social security
her deceased husband worked for Ames or something like that and she had his pension.
So, she was raking in at least $2k a month just sitting there. To top it off, i was paying her $1,600 a month in rent. So, this old lady was rolling in the dough. I can't imagine she ever worked as hard as half of us do...if she did then great. But, i don't see any of those four options in my future...except i do have one rental right now that pays for itself. So,i am trying.
My point is, the times have changed. And, sans your situation, the eldery have milked the young dry. It's been going on for 40+ years and is entering a breaking point. the boomers will snap the system or the dollar will be purposefully devalued to help soften the blow.
we're in for an intersting ride. The problem is the process takes so long to play out. things just appear to be getting tougher and tougher to get by but nobody understands why. b/c the process takes so long and a correlation can never be made. so, people just dont understand. RP does understand and that is why i love this man.
Also, check this one out. My mother's best friend growing up joined the air force right after law school. Then she retired after 20 years and got a lifetime pension. then she went to work for the state of california and is only a couple of years away from another 20 year pension. Her husband is in the same boat. And, they will both get social security.
Smart woman. She and her husband will rake in $100K/year sitting on their asses. All stolen from you and me...every gosh darn last penny. and here the gen x-ers and y-ers sit wondering what the hell happened and why it's so hard to get ahead.
The old people are not about to rock their boat. They have it so frickin good it makes me sick. yes, these might be an extreme and absolutely the opposite of your situation. But, on balance i am sticking with my analysis.
Precinct leaders---why did HQ ask us to be sign up? Canvassing works. Senior Citizens vote---talk to them! Then on election day---Get Out The Vote! Drive voters to the polls, go for coffee after voting, after an after-voting Pizza and beer party, whatever but Get the voters to the polls.
Everything else is just BS. If they can keep us running around with our panties in a twist over Sean Hannity or Anderson Cooper, they know we'll lose. That is the REAL CONSPIRACY people and we're buying it hook line and sinker.
Hi. That should be very moving. I'm sorry but I'm not in the USA and I don't wish to be out of line. Those are very real observations made. How do you keep this advice up at the top of the list because new or return visitors might miss it. Can the moderators email it to members perhaps? I will think of all you canvassors and precinct leaders at the front line.
Good luck out there &Thank you. It's appreciated.
I can only keep trawling the news media on line and I've also written to news companies. I have today, written to our Channel 4 news because they do documentary investigations (censoring & blackballing angle) and there are many expats over in Uk or working here. I'm with you. God bless you all.
I agree with the specific points made in the article, but I believe he could still win. If we start getting RP supporters to become delegates, and we go to a brokered convention, then he could very well win.
The article wasn't necessarily about him losing -- it was about HOW we can make sure he wins. Canvassing and Precinct leaders is what is needed. Ron Paul even says so in his last video message to us. This is what he desperately needs NOW.
Ron Paul is ignored because the liberal Media knows he'd beat
both Hillary and Obama in November.
They know that a lot of anti-war liberals would vote for Paul over either pro-war liars on the left.
Faux News wants to continue th war more than anything, so they are pushing McCain now.
I may be a vegetarian, but I'll defend to the death my right to eat pork!
The Reality Is........
The majority of voters are the 55+ bunch, which I'm part of. Just about 80% of this group has no idea who RON PAUIL is ! This is the biggest nut to crack, and with 4 days left to SUPER TUESDAY...........We need about another 200,000 precinct leaders. And why not?

Ron Paul good for the media

Over half of the delegates will be awarded by Feb 5th, and as someone below mentioned, canvassing is not always that successful - like in New Hampshire. Very likely McCain sews it up on Tuesday.
The only serious way that Canvassing will help is with a 3rd party run. That way we can bring in Independents, as well as some Democrats plus there is more time to cover more ground.
Right On!....Keep in mind a 3rd Party Run!
With McCain and Hillary, there is bound to be revulsion at the terrible choice...There has never been an opportunity to break the two party dictatorship that we have...SOMEBODY if not Ron,must run on a 3rd Party and encourage conservatives out of the GOP to help them...
NOT to late to canvass
Sure in just a few days you can't talk to many voters, but what CAN you do. Remember most voters vote on emotion. Just two days before the election here in Florida in my precinct I put 2 slimjims on EVERY mailbox flag of the addresses on my list, I then put signs 100 feet in each direction from the voting booth to re-register the memory in their minds. Did it work? I don't know, precinct information was not released. But if just a small portion of the mailboxes I tagged gave Paul a vote it was worth it.
I disagree
Sorry, but I don't think our ship is sinking.
The only way we can lose is to forget that we are winning!
Many of us have been busting our asses for months! I will NOT, at this point become pessimistic and buy into your bullshit headline. You're an asshole for posting it. You could have worded it differently and been just as effective. You got your attention. Happy?
Glad to hear that you've done a lot!
Many of US have and will continue bust our ass too. I think you need to get laid -- take a day off and chill man. :-)
Bump....
You will be the one you have to face in the mirror when the dust settles...
yeah, sounds great
but, it makes me wonder why we were so ineffective in NH?
I am sick to my stomach.
agree....
the majority of people have lost sight about what freedom really is and entails.
You couldn't be more wrong...
I hear you man
and this is an unfortunate situation for sure.
But, on balance i am sticking with my analysis.
very well said!
all need to read and heed!
We Know What Wins
Precinct leaders---why did HQ ask us to be sign up? Canvassing works. Senior Citizens vote---talk to them! Then on election day---Get Out The Vote! Drive voters to the polls, go for coffee after voting, after an after-voting Pizza and beer party, whatever but Get the voters to the polls.
Everything else is just BS. If they can keep us running around with our panties in a twist over Sean Hannity or Anderson Cooper, they know we'll lose. That is the REAL CONSPIRACY people and we're buying it hook line and sinker.
Get out of the VIRTUAL WORLD and CANVASS the REAL WORLD
I loved that one sentence.....SO TRUE.
If we really love Dr. Paul and the message of freedom we have got to get out from blogging, youtubing, ect...and TALK TO REAL PEOPLE to win.
What ron Paul can't win
Thanks!
No dude... thank you for your support in the UK! That is awesome! God Save The Queen! ;-)
Yes, and thanks for paying
Yes, and thanks for paying that TV tax so Americans like me can enjoy real documentaries. BBC4 is awesome. ;)
Wait
I agree with the specific points made in the article, but I believe he could still win. If we start getting RP supporters to become delegates, and we go to a brokered convention, then he could very well win.
Why Wait?
The article wasn't necessarily about him losing -- it was about HOW we can make sure he wins. Canvassing and Precinct leaders is what is needed. Ron Paul even says so in his last video message to us. This is what he desperately needs NOW.
