Kevin in NYC Preparing for Colbert Report

Kevin, who runs the excellent Ron Paul 2008 NYC Blog put the above video together on what he's doing to prepare for the rally today at the Colbert Report Studios. Great stuff Kevin! Take a look - if Kevin can do it, we all can do it!

The technology of the internet really does change the playing field in this election. Ron Paul doesn't have as much money as some of the other candidates, but 1) he is gaining, 2) what he has he is not going to waste and 3) volunteers like Kevin are way more valuable than anything money can buy! Just watch the video to see what I mean.

Furthermore, Kevin sent me this message in an email:

"I had a supporter from KC email me asking for files to a flyer I posted on the meetup board here in NYC, so they could add
their local information to it. Now I upload everythiing.

"Have you heard of "Operation Iowa Clean Sweep"? This is one or two people who decided to collect all the Ron Paul videos and create "theme chapters" with them, burn them onto 30k DVD's and distribute to as many Iowans as possible before the strawpoll. My chapter
was on Border Security and Immigration Policy. My Meetup organizer forwarded an email to me asking for help. I replied, got a call from a lady by the name of Jen, she called me from Japan. She set me up with a Yahoo group working on the project. I contacted the project creator by email, downloaded the files, edited a piece, FTP'd the file back... and away we go!

Brilliant idea. Total internet."

People - do you understand this? One or two people can organize the global, volunteer production of 30,000 DVDs to be handed out in Iowa. We have the resources and we have the technology. Everyone is a potential supporter and a contributor.

Ron Paul's official site also has brochures, signs and issue statements that you can print off yourself, or take down to Kinko's and have them print hundreds or thousands for you. Then you can go hit the streets with them - pass them out, leave them on cafe tables, or tape them in the window of your car.

I'm looking forward to hearing from Kevin how the NYC event goes, and also to watching the Colbert report. I don't have cable TV - so when it goes up on YouTube - somebody please email me or post a link here.

Thanks everyone!
Michael
