This is a true plan and I am moving to Phoenix to get it started. First I am going to find every Ron Paul supporter I can and set up meetings with every state legislator there is. We will ask for the following . . .

1) Pass legislation that allows any member of the Arizona National guard to be allowed to opt out of duty on foreign soil.

2) Pass legislation that requires super majority vote of state congress for the Governor give commander-in-chief rights of the Arizona National Guard to the President.

3) Pass legislation that requires that all male citizens aged 18-42 to become a member of the National Guard. Females may join but are not required. This has to happen. As you all have said, the federal government will not sit on the sidelines. But I have a hard time believing that U.S. Soldiers would fire on Arizona Guardmen.

4) Pass legislation that provides safe haven for residents from federal income taxes. The legislation would make it illegal to collect income taxes from Arizona residents. Anyone attempting to collect federal income taxes will be thrown in jail. It would be illegal to seize assets of Arizona residents. Any entity (i.e. banks) that allow assets to be seized by federal authorities can have their executives held liable. The highest ranking member of the entity currently in Arizona will be thrown in jail until the assets are returned. The downside of this is that residents wouldn't be able to travel to other states until other states enact laws themselves. Which they will, when all their state residents are leaving for Arizona.

5) Pass legislation allowing the inport of raw milk into the state. Work a deal to allow California ship the milk into the state. On the surface this seems kind of stupid, but the point is that it deals with interstate commerce and shows how stupid the laws are and that Congress really can't do anything about it. Make it illegal for anyone to restrict the import of the milk.

Once this starts rolling, it will just keep on gaining momentum.

It has to be a new country...we cannot just go over to a any other country ...arrogant as it sounds........b/c we might take the locals jobs and the locals might not like the influx....plus we will not be citizens unless we apply for their legal visas....so we will be illegal aliens if we hop skip and jump into any country.....see the dilema...kinda good cause we might understand the root cause of illegal immigration........

If we didn't have nuclear weapons the united states would invade and occupy us. But if we had WMD we would surely be safe.

Without going into detail, and while admitting the difficulty in pulling it off, one way would be to establish a "proprietary" community. You would outright purchase the acreage in a third world nation, build the infrastructure of a viable community and would purchase/negotiate a treaty of sovereignty with the "host" nation for a period of 100 years. The model would be Hong Kong, and would be accomplished within the framework of existing law.

What about the Florida Keys?
They seceeded from the union in 1982 and proclaimed to become an independent nation called Conch Republic. I think they have a strong live and let live attitude and put much emphasis on personal liberty.

This is crazy...do any of you really think that the Federal Government would let us secede? Texas? Florida? We aren't a tribe of native americans with no real power. That's the difference. The government doesn't care about a few native americans who want their own chunk of land, but you can be damn sure they would care about Texas leaving the U.S. Or Florida. Not to mention the sheer mathematics of it all.

Let me get this straight: we have the Free State Project (New Hampshire) which will take 20 years to fulfill their goal. We also have other FSP's in other states. Those who are dead serious about their freedom are part of a FSP. But you want enough people to move to a state, elect our chosen representatives, and then secede?

Can you tell me the problem with that? There aren't even enough people to turn NH into a free state, and all we need are 20,000 people.

How many people would you need for Texas? Florida? The whole point of NH was that the population was low enough for a relatively low influx of people to make a difference.

You want a country to call your own? LOL. That will NEVER HAPPEN. What could happen is if we all moved to a free state (NH, WY, VT, etc) and become so different from the rest of the states that our example inspires others to change.

But don't kid yourself and believe that the gov't is going to sit on its hands when a state wants to leave. It's not a parcel of land, its an entire state with resources.

Prices are pretty cheap so you can actually just get a cabin so that you are a resident. Then vote for their senators and congressman and vote one of our own to be Govenor. It has a coast line for trade and commerce. Neighbors with Cananda for travel.

That is the place to be. Jack up the population and they need to elect more representitives.

I do hear you on this subject, but where in the world would one go? The neo-cons, CFR, evil money exchangers, Crooked world bankers, etc., will have this country destoyed within the next 5 to 10 years. So keep me posted as where in the world would be a safer place.

You can buy a decent sized island for 2-4 million. I think you can declare it sovereign if it so far from the U.S. but I'm not sure of the law.

Even if you bought an island, you'd have to find ways to bring electricity (unless its already there) and so forth, so you'd have a big overhead just to keep it going and no real source of revenue to produce.

The best thing to do is locally take over the GOP and work our way to take over a state, get a governor elected, get RP-diplomats in the State Dept, etc. But this is going to take 10+ years...not easy.

I'm sure we could bribe our way in there.

For those of you too young to remember, Erwin "Filthy Pierre" Strauss is the author of "How To Start Your Own Country", back about 1979, and was the publisher of "The Connection", an early forum for libertarian thought predating the internet.

Beside the obvious great weather, Florida has a tremendous amount of natural resources. If we were to seceding we need a country that has a prosperous economy. Florida has oil,catle,and a great deal of agriculture.
The powers that are in control would never let there main n..a. u. corridor state of Texas get away from them. Sorry Florida is the way to go

We don't need a physical place. A society is a state of mind. We just need to create an alternate society where we are now. The future is going to be one world one way or another. We can have it NWO style, or we can have it our style. Atleast the elite are trying to make a New World Order. To many people just sit back and complain. We must do the work to create the positive reality we want. That way people can see that there is an alternative, and can make a choice. Much like what we have going on with the Ron Paul Revolution.

Sorry if the idea of a World citizen freaks you out, but we live in a dualistic reality. Everything has its opposite. As long as we focus on the negative version of a world order, that is what we will get!

I have noticed these types of threads appear to be getting more and more common, and more long-lived when they appear. I have started a forum at http://ronpaulcounty.ipbf... to further gauge the interest level. I was involved in the FSP, and then moved to N.E. Wyoming as part of the FSW. We libertarians do not have enough people to take over a state. We do have the numbers to take over a county and have our victory mathematically guaranteed. If, that is, there is a large enough proportion of Ron Paul supporters willing to move.

For many reasons: Ron Paul already has support here, independent minded state, already no state income tax, a coastal line with Houston bay and Galveston bay for shipping, Boarder with Mexico for trading across land, many of the US oil refineries, a growing wind energy industry, central time zone for business, plenty of land for farming and cattle, still produces oil, mild climate, and has it's own power grid.

The United states has three power grids: east coast, west coast, and Texas. The state is already unplugged from the rest of the country.

Make Ron Paul the Governor, than make a competing currency against the fiat money based on Gold and Silver, lower taxes to bring in companies and then leave the Union with Ron Paul as president. Oh Yeah. Greatest football franchise with the Dallas Cowboys. What else do we need?

Except I was thinking about maybe moving my family to New Zealand. Then I realized 1.too expensive 2. socialism. Is there a Native American tribe who supports Ron Paul? If so, maybe they would be willing to open their land to other races and we could all join together.

I think there would be a great deal of resistance to any efforts to secede. There would also be various risks even if it was successful. Too many things that would get in the way of our goal here.

It would probably be best to establish some sort of base of operations within a particular voting precinct, or precincts, in a strategically chosen state.

Then begin to change the system from within the inside.

First we gain local political control. Then expand that to a wider area. As things improve in those areas we will see support of our candidates increase significantly. Then we also move to have one of our candidates elected governor.

Once all that happens the particular state would become a "beacon" of hope and freedom for the rest of our nation, very much the way in which the U.S. used to be a beacon of hope and freedom for the world.

We then use our collective resources to help the liberty movement in other States.

I think it would be wise to select a State that already has a high level of support for Ron Paul / Liberty and one that already operates their government as closely as possible to The Constitution.

From what I remember. Texas still has the right to break away from the US.

No need to go anywhere. I have a plan.
Ok, this is what we do:
1. We need to start a secret society.
2. We need to start running for positions of power and once there, bring our fellow brethren to power.
3. We then work towards creating a central bank under our control.
4. We then slide legislation through to allow us to control the issuance of the nation's currency.
5. blah blah blah... you know the rest

I would like to at least see a vote for secession happen in an American state. It would be healthy for a state or two to secede or try to without another Lincolnian repression.

But the idea of a new island nation is also fantastic. It is very doable.

There are some expat websites that describe how a million US citizens already live freer and more happily than they would in the US (but keep in mind that John McCain and George Bush have been leading a charge to put all US citizens under the jurisdiction of the feds no matter where they are in the world, regulating what they do while abroad).*

In fact, I think the ending of "Brave New World" was when the protagonist was told "You are too smart so we are sending you to the place where other smart people end up being sent to". I do not think they were killing these smart people but really sending them off to live with each other.

It is interesting that our "friends" in Saudi Arabia are not jumping on board the revolution.

I read the responses, but have not done any research into anyone that has already contemplated and written on the subject.

My response is that it would be easy to have as many of the ten percent (approx.) of the population that supports the constitutional ideas of Ron Paul to gather in one state and utilize the law to do this successfully.

I would personally like to see a public figure call for the secession of all 50 states from the union and a new (or multiple) countries stand up in its place. Let the socialists have fun with their's (and it will fail) and let us take ours. Those that have ideals in the middle (like the conservative statists or war mongers) can do what they wish (preferably move to the socialist states, where war will be waged from) because all they do is use up our precious air anyway.

Some have said that if this is done, we would be attacked. That may be so, but an overtly public display of this act would reach the ears of all citizens and persons in this country. Firstly, many would not want to kill their kin. Secondly, many that follow the science and art of warfare and call their career one of the defense of the country, would likely fall to our side, since like me, have made an oath to protect the constitution. We believe in the law of the land, the protection of our borthers and sisters, and have plenty of knowledge in the art of war. However, we are a very peaceful sort, for it is the soldier that does the bleeding. But do not take that to say that we will not bleed when we are called on to protect our most sacred bond, and the lives of our families and friends.

We may have to eventually come to the point where we would have to gather and fight yet again for our liberties. Either with our tongues, our pens, or our arms. I would like to see a return to the constitution in one way or another. I am with you all the way in this fight of ideas, since it is all of you that are screaming on these boards that will be the heads of the governments in when it is all said and done. If we need to, we can write up the constitution once again, and add into the processes of the people's control to ensure this never happens again.

Every so many years, we must take a look into what has worked and what has not. We have made leaps and bounds towards the ultimate goal of true liberty, and although there will be bumps along the way, we must not stop trying, for evil only triumphs when good men stand idly by.

We the people stand together in unity for our liberty. And I say today, this 1st of February 2008, as had been said many times over our history, to give me LIBERTY or give me DEATH!
