Wow, great clips. I thought at first he was serious. Clip goes to comedycentra. On the right, choose McCain talking about timetables. Colbert wouldn't let it die. Then for dessert, click on the Ron Paul clip.
Great, great stuff. Forget MSM, this guy reached thousands.
The link to the Comedy Central may not work every time. Sometimes it seems to get hung up while loading. If it gets hung up, just go back and try it again.
Or you could try this YouTube link which has the whole clip except the first few seconds where Stephen says, "Ron Paul, of course, had to put his $2 bill on the table over this whole argument over timetables.": http://www.youtube.com/wa...
This is very good news! This comedy bit was so much so "tongue in cheek" that my wife at first thought he was making fun of Ron Paul. For some people, it may take a while before the meaning sinks in; my hope is that it will help wake up some McCain and Romney supporters.
I think this is worth being "bumped" today since it may go "viral" and help the Ron Paul campaign.
It was a twisted (its not really twisted but word(s) fail me) take for humor's sake but it is actually a compliment! I don't watch these guys (that John guy 'n Rubert, oh, no..., Colbert!) except on occasion when I stumble across 'em. From what I've seen they are given him compliments!
it would be confusing if he said he liked him given his role, but he/they went so far to portray Ron Paul as a truth-teller who is so obviously right that it really was funny. The first clip of Dr. Paul speaking out against the war was the best part because Colbert's audience, as Stewart's are obviously anti-war... Dr. Paul makes his logical points on why the war is a costly mistake and then Colbert parodies McCain acting like it doesn't make any sense. Then Colbert drives the point home by making it obvious in the subsequent clips... Great stuff.
The question is, will most people REALLY realize that Colbert's response is satire and/or sarcasm (it IS, isn't it???). This show gets a lot of viewers, so I see this as a fantastic free ad. Watch it!
Thanks, jtaylor!

Absolutely Fabulous!
Love it!
Translated: He's continually warned about vital issues that are ALWAYS TRUE or ALWAYS HAPPEN (for those who aren't used to Colbert).
Colbert likes "Truthiness"
Ergo, he likes Ron Paul.
For God and Country!
This is why Ron will ROCK on the MTV debate!
That one is gonna be sooooooooooooooooooooooo good!
