Violent Revolution = Preemptive War

I've been hearing a LOT of talk about a violent revolution in these threads.
How is a violent revolution any different than the Neo-Cons Preemptive war?
Peaceful resistance is the only way to win the hearts and minds of the people. If we are attacked, verbally, we must fight back with our minds. Only when one is physically attacked should they attack back, and only enough to stop the attack. This is the Just War theory.

Did the American Revolutionary War start with revolutionaries suddenly attacking British troops? NO. We declared our Independence, and dared them to challenge that.

I follow Dr. Paul

I'm hoping his wisdom will rub off on me.

Hey, I don't advocate violent revolution.

But if the pot boils over, you can bet I won't sit idly by and watch. Nor will I side with the governing establishment.

I am with the revolutionaries. Whether that be armed or not, I'm not going to watch this place become a facist state.

I will not be a good german.

Be wary my friends who may

Be wary my friends who may think they can fight fire with fire.

"Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind. And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed, the leader will have no need in seizing the rights of the citizenry. Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear and blinded by patriotism, will offer up all of their rights unto the leader and gladly so. How do I know? For this is what I have done. And I am Caesar."
-- Julius Caesar

Beware of those who would take up arms, as a means of rebellion. That is the way of the unlearned. Who provokes this new Rebellion? Be wary of those who pursue change through violence.

The Seeds of Truth we Plant today will grow to be the Tree of Freedom tommorow.

Beware...

.. of the Founding Fathers?

=|

Yeah! The whole traitorous lot of them!

Those scounderels! How dare they take up arms to repulse the rightful, God ordained rule of the king! They ought to have done it the gentlemanly way, over tea after paying their homage, um, taxes, to his majesty.

/sarcasm

:)

But still as I said, they declared their independance and challenged the rest to take their rights away from eachother. Its one thing to take up arms against another, its quite another to defend yourself. Of course once the ball got rolling we engaged in sneak attacks, but we didn't start the war.

For those who advocate a violent revolution.....

I wonder who exactly would you fight against?
The police? who have nothing to do with the governments misdeeds.
The military? who are our biggest supporters.
The congress? they are not being violent towards us, only complicit.
The president? Who will be out of office peacefully in less than a year.

No, there is no way to have a "armed revolution" unless there is martial law. AND if there is martial law declared, would the local authorities support it? or would they side with their neighbors, as happened in the former soviet union.

I suggest you redirect your rage into political activism or education. potentially peaceful civil disobedience.

Until "they" come to physically take your guns, there is no reason to consider using them.

If you look at the history of Revolutions and Civil Wars

If you look at the history of Revolutions and Civil Wars you will find that it is one segment of the population fighting against another.

The American Revolution in 1776 was not a war between England and France although the English government supported and fought with the 5% of the population who had allegiance to King George, and the French supported and fought with the Patriots, who themselves were a minority. The story book portrayal of Patriots against the British army just does not nearly tell the complete story. It was primarily a civil conflict among Colonists, quite a few of whom fled for their lives at the end of the conflict, if they were not killed during it.

The Civil War of 1861 was people against people based on geographic location. If you want to know the ferocity of the feelings and violence that occurred among neighbors, read about what went on in border states like Missouri.

So when you ask who will be the combatants if the US falls into another civil conflict, it will be people fighting people, neighbor against neighbor, one segment of the military against another, and yes, brother against brother. If you doubt this, just look at some of the expressions of hatred toward Ron Paul that you can find posted around the internet, as well as hatred expressed by some Ron Paul supporters against others.

Remember

I will be on the side of the REBELS.

a defensive battle is FAR easier to win.....

a defensive guerilla technique has NEVER FAILED in history. I mean, look at Iraq!! We are the military superpower and they are starting to slowly take their country back!

I hate the war altogether, but to be honest it does give me encouragement. If the Iraqis can withstand the brute force of our army, then our own army wouldn't even stand a chance against us. Yes, they can do a lot of damage and kill a lot of us, but just imagine how many times the size of Iraq we are! just think, we already have 60,000,000 GUN OWNERS, if we use the right defensive guerilla tactics WE CANNOT BE DEFEATED, by any military force on earth....

I cannot agree more that an offensive revolution is complete suicide, and will get us nowhere. What we NEED to do, is get the free state project on a roll as quickly as possible, so we can secede from the union. I know free state is not a secessionist movement, but free state is also not going to try to stop something along those lines if the 20,000 people decide to do it.

Once we have seceeded we have essentially put forth a declaration of indepedence, and then the ball is in their court to try to get us BACK into their little system of rule, so THEY will have to initiate the violence, and THEY will have to be on the offensive.

BOTTOM LINE: We have something they want, our freedom and obedience. They have nothing we want. Therefore, THEY are the ones requiring something from us, and THEY must be the ones who have to work to try to accomplish what they want.

Thank you for saying it.

I don't like the way things are, but until we can get a lot more organized and pull a lot more of the main stream into our movement we should not think about a violent revolution. And whats worse than if some knuckle head group did get together and try something? It would force most of us to side against them and renounce the Ron Paul movement as too radical. The way I see it we need some more time to get or shit together anyways. With this campaign as a starting point we can really do well four years from now. I mean its not like Dr Paul is going to go away after this election. He will still be leading the movement. It wasn't like Jefferson woke up one morning and wrote the Declaration Of Independence on his own, those feelings had been building for decades and he had an organization representing the majority of the population behind him. The fathers of this country waited and built and educated the masses until they had the people with them. We need to do the same.

The stage is being set...

WAKE UP AMERICA!

Well, Well, Well,

The give peace a chance crowd won't be around to help the fight when the real fight begins. When Marshall law is declared, you will simply stand in line waiting for your ration card.

American's will not wake up and fight until they are starving and bleeding!

I find it hard to believe

I find it hard to believe that peace can ever be achived by war and violence. i just think only some thing bad will come out of doing some thing bad. Such as peace will bring more peace.

Can you explain that a bit more?

Coul you explain that statement "I find it hard to believe that peace can ever be achived by war and violence." a bit more?

Because I find it hard to believe that peace can be achieved and maintained unless we're prepared to go to war to defend it.

Reagan once said

(regardless of how some feel about him or how things turned out.)

... And I'm kind of paraphrasing: Peace is not the absence of conflict, but is the dedication to peaceful means to resolve conflict.

Now if things get as bad as some feel, a physical revolt might be the only answer. But my personal feeling is that there will be a temptation to resort to that level too readily by some. That could prevent us from finding those peaceful means that would surely save thousands of lives (maybe more).

"Those who cling to the

"Those who cling to the untrue doctrine that violence never settles anything would be advised to conjure up the ghosts of Napoleon Bonaparte and of the Duke of Wellington and let them debate it. The ghost of Hitler could referee, and the jury might well be the Dodo, the Great Auk, and the Passenger Pigeon. Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in history than has any other factor, and the contrary opinion is wishful thinking at its worst. Nations and peoples who forget this basic truth have always paid for it with their lives and freedoms."

-Robert A. Heinlein

Well...

I didn't say that violence never solves anything, and I did say that it may be inevitable -- which I am preparing for... Revolutions are often necessary options for people opposed by tyrannical govts, but if nations don't begin resolving their conflicts through peaceful means, with the technological advances sure to arise in the next decade or two, our time here will be short.

Well

Our first revolution was not peaceful... how do you rationally think that this one will end up so?

UNDERWEAR MARCH!

What if we band together in millions outside of the whitehouse...strip to our underwear(dont laugh its to show we have no guns or weapons) And all walk into the whitehouse(out house) and calmly escort everyone out. They gunna start shooting millions of people?

Edit: I propose we now refer to the White House as "The Out House" you know since its become so full of shit...

Just A Fast Comment

How is a violent revolution any different than the Neo-Cons Preemptive war?

Answer: just verses unjust!

There are just wars!

"If the American people ever

"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their money, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them (around the banks), will deprive the people of their property until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered." -- Thomas Jefferson

"I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. . . . corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed." -- Abraham Lincoln

The banks, corporations, our government and the elite families that run and own them are stealing the Peoples wealth from us and hording it to themselves. The middle class is dying. At what point do we have a right and duty to stand up and make things right?

"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." - Thomas Jefferson

Tyranny, the oppressive

Tyranny, the oppressive rule, to oppress, to be harsh and unfair and cause stress and anxiety. You can call it the NWO or Elite or whatever you would like but in the end it is still tyranny. We are in a battle against tyranny but I tell you this we will win because we have truth on our side. Take it back inch by inch the same way freedom has been taken from you, inch by inch. The truth will set us all free one inch at a time, the seeds of truth we plant today will be the Tree of Life of Freedom that we cultivate tommorow. Tyranny never sleeps and nor do the pure of heart and nor does the patriot. Ron Paul in it for the Long Haul.

Today is like no other day, like no other time
We in our hands hold the future
Those who know understand.

This is not physical war, that needs to be won
by physical means, using weapons or arms

This is a battle for the minds of human beings We have been decieved into believing we are different
but we are all the same, human
you may lable yourself by your religion or your country or your town
but in the end we are all human
in the end we are all connected
everyone is someone to someone else
A mother a sister a brother a father an uncle an aunt
a grandma a grandfather
we are all someone to someone else

We have been decieved by illusions, by words and symbols
That is the magic and power of those things
They are here to divide you
Yet under all those lables lies a human soul
..
There are radical muslims as well as radical christians
as well as radical blacks and radical browns or yellows
but we must not fear eachother, because this is what divides and kills
all of us. A person should only be judged by there character. That is an American Value.
So we must ask ourselves in who's interest is it to divide us?
For those that know the answer, what can you do?
Your out numbered, out gunned, out financed
So how can you possibly win?
I tell you this, you will win
because you have something on your side that they do not
The Truth
and it takes 100% more effort and work to hide the truth
than to spread it
and if you understand how to use the truth
it will truly set us freeWe like a million army ants will arm ourselves with the truth and spread it
to every ear, to those that will and those that will not listen.
We will repeat this truth over and over again a constant drumm of the truth
So many times and so tirelessly that it will be inherantly understood by the many It wont take one person it will take millions, all doing there part fighting deception with truth. We must take responsibility for ourselves.
The so called MSM has nothing to do with this and if you believe they do
you are wasting your time. Concentrate on what you can do to open as many eyes as possible, fore we are planting seeds that will one day fruit into a renewed freedom that will lift all of mankind from the current debt slavery system.
You know at some point they told MLK that he should just sit down and give up but he didnt and now we have seen change. Somebody once told Ghandi that India would never be free of colonial rule, but he pressed on and free'd his people from the hands of oppression. The thing we do not see is that it takes people to band together to bring
change. For those who are discouraged because of the result we are seeing with ron paul, don't be. Because this is not a sprint this is a marathon, change always is. Stand up and do your part, because you are Ron Paul, I am Ron Paul, we are all Ron Paul because it is the message that we are, not the name or the man We are the bringers of Freedom and we will be rememberd for our endeveours, I would rather die for something than wither away a submisive slave to a system that I know was designed to enslave me and my fellow Americans. I will not walk quietly into the night I will spread the word, consider us all a bunch of Johnny Apple Seeds and our seed is the truth.
From these seeds will grow a mighty people a mighty world
but it starts here all you have to do is believe you can we must band together with the message as the glue that unites us all.
It starts here today and we must do our part
Spread as much information out as possible
you dont have to change the world
but you might just spark the mind that will I ask you friends fellow human beings
do your part just a little eachday
and like the tiny termites take down a giant tree
we will work together to change the future
for our children, they deserve a better world than what was
left to us and like those who sacraficed in the past
we must define our time by changing the future

Because we are not europeans, we are not asians, we are not africans, we are not latin, We are Americans, which means we are all of those things, living where a man is not judged by the his religion or the color of his skin but only by the content of his character, the constitution was designed to protect all of humanity
with Freedom and Liberty only restrained by the rights of others, and directly formed in opposition of Tyranny and those who would choose to centralize power in a tyrannical fashion, which leads to corruption because centralized power is absolute and absolute power corrupts absolutley, that is why our constitution is the most powerful legislation on the planet, because it protects us from our own falable nature. Stand up for Freedom, one inch at a time the seeds we plant today will only strengthen the tree of Freedom tommorow!

Jefferson...

"what country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not
warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of
resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as
to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost
in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from
time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
It is its natural manure."

Thomas Jefferson

The time is not right. At least not yet. But with the new laws and presidential directives that have been recently been put into place that restrict our liberties and consolidate power into the presidential branch the time could be sooner than we think or hope.

I disagree

Preemptive war assumes that you are the one to "fire the first shot", so to speak, and you did it unprovoked in any way at all.

Government has fired the first shot against WE THE PEOPLE so many times that it's not even funny. They have also done plenty of provoking with their all out assault on our bill of rights.

Revolution would be a defensive war, if it were to ever happen.

Me personally, I wish for peaceful revolution.

as someone said....let's get the party started.

at least it will get us 3/4 of the way to publicly hanging those responsible...

Bullets Ineffective

I agree. In fact, in a violent revolution the wrong people would be targeted.
These days, the power elite's primary weapon is no longer bullets, it is deceit. Psychological manipulation of the populace's opinions through media, education and other facets of our social structure. So our best offense is exposing the deceit. That's why they don't like Dr. Paul; every time he opens his mouth he blurts out too much truth.
The only real solution is a grass roots, one-on-one enlightenment of your neighbors. Become a precinct leader. Make friends. Work to enlighten those who are not too far out of reach. Dr. Paul did say to have fun right?

Oppression

Oppression is a quiet violence, a constant threat. The government, with its ever-present, uniformed enforcement THUGS, does not need to regularly abuse us. We are so used to being abused, to being scared, for most of us, revolution is an incomprehensible idea. The powers that be seem as gods. Their edifice is so well-maintained, ever-growing and intimidating, that their utter power over us seems natural. It is not.

Every time you obey an unjust law, whether it be a law against gambling or drugs (until recently including absinthe, for God's sake!), to even non-"vice" laws, like growing hemp, every time someone does not do something like this because it is against the law, they are oppressed. It happens so often, in so many ways, we are not even aware of it. How many of us forget something on a tax return? How many would like to by a 14-bullet magazine for their handguns?

Thus, revolution appears to tear apart a peaceful scene, but in reality what it does is strike against a greater violence, so pervasive that it can simply exist in the background. How many rot in prison, how many men have been raped, because they used or sold drugs? How many have suffered the same for refusing to pay, via taxes, for our arrogant interventions all over the globe? How does it happen that the government makes it so hard to arm oneself in many places, yet tells you that the "police" (see THUGS above) are not obligated to protect you?

Is not a slave who goes unwhipped because he is too scared to rebel still victimized by his master?

Amen !

The "justice" system is utterly evil and corrupt. It is legalized extortion, and putting people in work camps called Jail.

The war on drugs was the beggining of the end. Whenver we deny rights to those we find objectionable it is a step in taking away our rights.

We are not free until all men are free, even to do those things we do not agree with.

Many people in prison are hero's.

www.abovetheignorance.org

Good point

Still we should not attack, we should declare our independence and wait in guard for their attack. MAYBE we will need to take over a city or something as base for such a declaration.
1. Educate the populous WHY we are revolting, otherwise there is NO chance we will gain popular sympathy.
2. Declare our independence.
3. Stand guard for each other.

10% of the population if we can get that much revolting in small groups throughout the country can easily be put down. 30 million people all standing together arms in arms can not so easily. We need to take our lessons from the battle for civil rights, not from the unabomber.

Agreed

Where shall we unite, in one state or possibly more?

Libera me, let the truth break, what my fears make--Leslie Phillips

agree

We need to unite in greater numbers so that the government must take pause knowing that attacking such numbers will cause the overall populace to revolt.

Our current government is an infestation and only dedication and sacrifice will win the day.

independence

Many in America have declared their independence. They have all been imprisoned, robbed of everything they had, murdered, or had loved ones murdered.

If we are attacked verbally, yes we should respond verbally.

Taxation is not verbal assault - it is men with guns who will come for you and hurt/rob/kidnap/kill you, if you dont surrender your money.

Enforcement of immoral and/or un-Constitutional laws, is not verbal assault. It is men with guns who will come for you likewise, if you don't surrender your freedom to smoke/drink/own/buy/sell/say/do whatever particular application of liberty the Morality Police are crushing today.

A gun, held to your head but not fired, is still an act of violence.

A gun held in a pocket but pointed at you, is the same.

A letter in your mailbox that says men with guns will come to your door, or watch for your license plate and catch you on the street, is the same.

A general statement made known to the public that anyone who violates Latest Taboo X will be punished by men with guns, is the same.

The threat of violence is a fundamental component of our entire society. We already live by it. Why do you think you're as safe as you are in your home from muggers, rapists, and roving gangs of thrill-killers?

Because they fear the violent retalliation of law enforcement. They fear the violence of being held hostage in some hell-hole prison. They fear the violence of prison.

This is not a civilized society. It is well-ordered and stable, but far from civilized.

READ THE POST ABOVE

You sir, deserve a big bump on your post above.

Dr. Paul said no need for

Dr. Paul said no need for revolution. We just need to fix the constitution.

I think he ment Restore the Constitution

Libera me, let the truth break, what my fears make--Leslie Phillips

Violence helps the Zionists

God is still in control...
Violence would only help lead to one world gov't.; by escalating chaos, the retaliation by gov't would be so severe that any action they take--including blending gov'ts together into giant unions (North American Union in our case--if you live in the US) would be easier since no dissention would be tolerrated. Be careful of fear mongers like Alex Jones who give out a lot of good information but then try to steer your attitude towards reactionary violence.

Take Over

I think that the first state where Ron Paul wins 1st place should be our rallying point. We all move there and run for office. After we take that over, we then secede from the Union. As the people in surrounding regions see what freedom really is, it will spread like a domino effect.

I like it!

God is still in control...
Now, there's an idea. Did you know that whole towns have been taken over by various groups of like minded people e.g. Muslims have moved to some towns, voted their people into office until they could start altering ordinances to favor their agenda?--that's what I heard from a supposedly reliable source awhile back.

Sorry But

If things move forward as it is now.... Civil War is our only way of staying free. Once Martial Law is declared it will be too late. I will die for my freedom.

Another joins

We need some clandestine way of communicating with other people in case the worst happens. Once people give up their guns (and they will). We're going to be in bad way.

I will Die with you

I will Die with you brother(or sister?). Though i disagree to a point. It isnt too late after martial law. Martial law is a declaration of war and they would be the agressors.

We really should avoid civil

We really should avoid civil war at all costs... well maybe not all costs. here's teh thing... who benefit from the war if we had one? Same people as before??? Okay then it's settled no modern civil war period. Besides who would you fight? There would be only reason i'd resort to violence. that would be if i could cut off teh head of the snake. But there are no snakes anymore, but alot of hydras. In which there is an old saying, "I won't kill any of ya, 'til i can kill all of ya." So basiclly i'd only resort to this if i could take out all living american war criminals and the banking cartels at pretty much one time. I truely believe that those days came and went almost a hundred years ago.

Farces

The farces at work are oil, diamonds, and classic cars. None of these things are rare or extinct. You just have to find them and go places that make some people uncomfortable.

BTW a few nuke plants being built here wouldn't hurt either.
