Ron Paul beats McCain in Maine!

I just got back from my town's Caucus up here in snowy Maine.

The results:
Undecided: 1
Guilliani: 1
Huckabee: 2
McCain: 9
Ron Paul: 11
Mitt Romney:48

It should be noted, however that TAG ROMNEY was there. MITT ROMNEY'S SON was at my caucus, so needless to say, it was a stacked deck. So, that being said, i think Ron Paul did well.

Oh, wait! I KNOW he did well...

how do I know this?
Well, my town has 27 delegates that are unbound, and go to the state convention, where Maine selects it's national delegates. Out of the 27 delegates from my town, 11 are Ron Paul delegates! So, despite Romney's "victory", Ron Paul actually has more delegates representing him! (notice how ALL 11 Ron Paul votes are delegates - EVERYONE NEEDS to do this!)

So, that's my report. I was happy to give up my friday night and drive through a snowstorm to help Ron Paul win.

Don't give up the fight!

1 undecided?

why'd they come out?

especially in the icy crap going on out there

i just went to the store... my Ron Paul signs are still there, just ice covered now... but you can still read em clear

undecided - remember delegates are not bound so they can decide later (if they were elected in as a delegate)

Save the Signs....

We got some signs from Florida and South Carolina and they sure are helping here in Bama. We are losing about 20% of our signs per day so we need to keep them coming....save them for a later state!!!

Send them to Mass or Conn. when you are done with them.

Excellent! Keep up the good

Excellent! Keep up the good work.

Grrr!!

STUPID ROMNEY! Oh how I loathe that man and his campaign and his stupid, stupid supporters. Argh.

Just so you know, I lost to him in my county too -- 44 to 37. Without this lying slimy sleazo sleaze-bombing the race, we would have won.

Romneytron 3000

... is in full effect, it seems ....

Winner take all in your county?

How many RP delegates is your town sending?

Zero

Sorry for the confusion -- my contest was in Wyoming, not Maine. The county chose one National Delegate. He goes straight to National, no middleman. Wouldn't that be great if Romney drops out? WY's delegates are unbound, so maybe we could "turn him from the dark side".

How in the hell could someone vote ........

for Guiliani, they must be living under a damned rock.He quit remember?

Who ever heard of anyone vowing to vote

for a candidate, even if they had to write him in? I know I've heard of that before.

IMissLiberty

True, but does Guiliani really inspire people THAT much?

That is almost laughable, really. Guiliani has been called a lot of thing, but inspirational is not a word that comes to my mind.

I have a few choice words to call him....

but this is a family forum. From a fellow Alaskan (Anchorage), I look forward to seeing you at the caucus.

Government is not the solution. Government is the problem.

You must have missed 9/11!!

I don't believe I've ever heard that explanation and I've heard some pretty absurd explanations for 9/11!! I'd ask that you apologize immediately!

LMAO!

Hey can I come live in Alaska when the S hits the F? Then I could be Dale in Alaska!

He was sitting on top of that person....

Shouting, "9/11, 9/11, 9/11, 9/11, 9/11" over and over until they agreed to waste their vote.

Then he head-butted them with his former comb-over skull.

I have a crazy prediction.....

If Ron Paul places 1st or 2nd in various primaries/caucuses/Super Tuesday that are coming up in the next several days, Iran is going to get bombed.

Just a crazy thought.

Call me nuts.

Can you share

Any mechanics or "lessons learned" from your experience so others can emulate or avoid tomorrow?

I second this request please...

Can you describe what it was like:

I've never been to a Caucus here in Maine

Was there a RP table? If so who was working it?

Did people wear candidate T-shirts, pins, etc....?

How long did it take?

Did anyone talk about Ron Paul - if so what was said?

Do voters ask questions?

Louisiana

Was a real disappointment - I really expected a win there from all the chatter her and everywhere else - then the dreaded slates and candidates in multiple parties started arriving - don't want to get caught with our pants down again.

Go Maine!

Go Maine!

Truth please: Romney's sons are driving in voters, right?

As in, these people would not have even shown up without the Romney harem driving them there, right?

Also, what was Tag doing? Was he directing the votes?

More important: Why did the poll workers allow him in? This must be illegal.

Please, file a complaint with the FEC.

Question for those in Maine (or anyone who knows!)

I'm trying to make sure I understand the Maine process - the caucus runs until Sunday, correct? So we should have final tallies/results then?

Thanks!

probably

i'm assuming so.

the majority of them are tomorrow so you may get most of the results tomorrow night if not sunday morning.

just a guess

Sort of

Each town sets their own date / time. So, you have to go to the Maine GOP website for locations and times. Only a few are actually on Sunday because of the Superbowl.

here's the schedule:

I may be a vegetarian, but I'll defend to the death my right to eat pork!

about 95% will be complete by Sunday

We're told results should be official by the 4th/5th

Saturday night, we should all know though. Maine is planning to do a thing for the media Saturday night.

Thank you!! :-)

Thank you!! :-)

According to CNN

The Maine Caucus is tomorrow?

few today, mostly tomorrow, and a few sunday

weird i know.

3 days - Fri, Sat, Sunday - each town is different

Miliatry for Ron Paul!

Talk to us!

Nice work But...

I am so damn glad that Ron got some delegates but, it going to take a military coup to FUBAR these assholes. Do not give up as their are good patriots in the military.
Let's here from you.....Patriots...........

this is promising!!!

awesome!!! glad you braved the weather and returned home safely!

that bastard Tag was in Portland today too

.

Yeah,

I had to restrain myself from wanting to strangle him. He's just as plastic and polished as his father. They are practically clones. It's sickening.

what town was this?

and how many delegates did Romeny end up with?

This was Gorham

And the delegate numbers are "estimates", and they're not STATE delegates. We merely represent our town when we go to the state caucus. So, it's not an official "National" delegate, but the more town delegates we have, the more of a chance we'll select a Ron Paul "National" delegate when we hold our state convention.

hmmm

I would have thought Gorham would have had more than 11.

I'm in Westbrook. Let the fight begin. I don't think it's going to be as easy as first thought - Granted Tag was there.

Are you shitting me? God, all you need to win is a harem

"Tag" How bloody gay is that name.

What the hell? Is it even legal for someone who is not a resident to be at the caucus?

I scream FOUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I may be a vegetarian, but I'll defend to the death my right to eat pork!

Nicknames...

Mitt, Tag (out), Ball, Bat, Base, Rosin Bag?

Thank You for your effort!

Thank You for your effort! This is great news!

I'm glad to hear it

But don't know how we get more delegates if he gets more votes.....could you explain more please - other may need to emulate you guys!!

Well done.

The way Maine works,

Is that each town selects a certain number of delegates who represent the town in the state caucus in Augusta a few weeks from now. These delegates are "unbound", and are eligible to be selected at the state caucus to represent Maine at the National convention. These are also "unbound" delegates. So, for us Ron Paul supporters, we have a greater chance of becoming state delegates.

So, back to my town, out of the 27 delegates, 11 were Ron Paul supports, 8 Romney supporters, 6 McCain, and 2 Huckabee. So that group would then go to Augusta and elect delegates to represent Maine in the national convention. So, even though Romney won our "presidential preference" poll, our delegates don't have to vote for him, because they're unbound. And since we have more Ron Paul supporters as delegates, we have a greater chance of selecting Ron Paul delegates for the national convention.

I think what he means is

I think what he means is that in the National Convention if Romney drops out these delegates get to chose whoever they want, also if there is no clear winner in the votes the first time they vote again and can choose whoever they want.

No, I think he meant that

No, I think he meant that the straw poll results are non-binding and that there were more RP delegates elected at his caucus than Mitt got. So whether Mitt drops out or not is irrelevant. So long as RP has delegates, and hopefully more than Mitt, then they can vote in RP delegates at the state convention which will then go on to the national convention to vote for RP.

Power to those who show up!

Nicely done!

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great NEWS, thanks for sharing!

This is awesome news!!

Very encouraging!

Yeah Baby!!!!
