Again, again, and again

Thanks campaign, you were entrusted with the most gifted Statesman this Kuntry has seen in a loooooooooooooooong time........ and this is all you can do

PLEASE READ!
Yahoo and CNN are only GUESSING on the number of delegates to the State Convention in May for each candidate. They are taking the straw poll results and ASSUMING that the delegates to the state convention will reflect this breakdown.
HOWEVER, the delegates are not bound by the straw poll results. You may have a case where Town X voted 90% for Romney but all of the delegates from Town X are RP supporters. I know for a fact that in one town RP got 40% of the straw poll vote but 85% of the delegates.
PLEASE DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED BY THE FAKE DELEGATE COUNT THAT THE MSM PUBLISHES. There is no way for the MSM to know the # of delegates supporting each candidate because delegates do not state their preference until the State Convention in May. PLEASE DO NOT GET ANGRY AT THE RP CAMPAIGN STAFF. They did a great job in Maine because they understand how the Maine system works.
Shit Fire.....we can't win anywhere! What up with this?
What is the campaing thinking,,,,,,,,,,,,,this match will be over with soon. We have no wins, not even in New Hampshire...........they've beat the brains out of the Ron Paul Campaign..................Oh, I'm glad to see "we've" got an "economic advisor" now........ shit for brains staff. Take heart Ron Paul fans, this campaign was NOT professionally managend. I think they knew this,,,,,,,,,,,,,they were bought off just like the rest of the bunch of thugmasters.........wake up, and realize,,,,,,,,,,,,,it's over as we know it.

You know what you act like a
You know what you act like a 3 year old. I'm tired of people here claiming bias, then saying how the system is all wrong, then trying to use the system to beat the popular vote, etc etc.
Sure I'd like Paul to win, but it isn't my whole life, I'm glad it has gotten some important messages out.
Hey......
Lighten up, this is just the beginning. The fight is just starting !
GOD BLESS ALL
read my post above yours...
read my post above yours... the msm is trying to discourage YOU and it is working. you need to understand how Maine works before you blow your lid!
Never give up
Congratulations to Ron Paul and his supporters in Maine! Never give up the fight for freedom, you've only just begun.
Looking out for #1
Since Bath Iron Works is a major employer up there, and has been laying off recently, I wonder how much that factors into things.
You have to know which side your bread is buttered on and if there's now war, there's no spending on war ships.
We're third place out of four possible ,,,,,,again
This campaign staff has sunck this battleship!

Obviously the people of
Obviously the people of Maine are interested in more war and welfare.
My question though is why are the people in maine more interested in war and welfare? Why do the people of maine dislike freedom?
It is not just the people of Maine
So far, one liberal war monger or another has won in each primary.
Even Ann Coulter said that she would voter for Hillary before McCain because she is more conservative than he.
McCain, Romney, and Huckabee are not proponents of freedom. The all are proponents of big government, and the force it represents, force against citizens and force against foreign nations.
I suppose the thing that bothers the most is the false portrayal of McCain as a war hero. This is someone who, as a less than average pilot, made his way in the Navy not on his own merit, but as a result of his grandfather and father who were high up in the Navy. Then he received decoration after decoration for doing only what others did without being decorated. Then when he was shot down and captured in Viet Nam, he violated the Military Code of Conduct by giving information to his captors about his target, numbers of fellow pilots shot down, his squadron, and he made anti war broadcasts to the troops then in country. He may more accurately be described as a traitor than a hero. Of course we can understand that he did these things to stop the torture and gain medical treatment, but others withstood the torture and did not give in. Don't condemn him for being weak, but don't sully the word hero by calling him one.
My observation is that McCain is an angry, narcissistic personality who is probably one of the most dangerous people who could be selected to have his finger on the red button.
Watch your generalizations!
We fought hard, up here! I've spent many hours putting up signs, calling people, and convincing people to caucus. Also, Dr. Paul did win in my county.
The point is, not everyone is "interested in more war and welfare." In fact, I believe that ignorance is more of a problem than malice.
People in Maine are obviously sheep.
They are sheep, just like many in this brain dead nation.
not all of em (me) but yes... sadly
We underestimated older voter turn out. I can't tell you how many people had white hair at that caucus. Ron Paul scares the shit out of them when he talks about ending SS and Medicare. I'm glad I included it in my speech that he has never voted to rob one cent from SS or Medicare. It might have helped.
Ron Paul got 2nd in my town and picked up 42% of the delegates
Ron Paul 2008
maine info!
two things happen at the maine caucus
1) a non-binding presidential straw poll is taken. these results are released to the media and are what the media may try to use to determine an estimate of delegates.
2) delegates are selected for the state convention held in may. these delegates will select the delegates to go to the nominating convention in minnesota. the delegates selected today are not bound by the straw poll results. each town gets a certain number of delegate slots based upon population.
here is an example of what could happen in a random town. 50 people show up and cast a ballot in the straw poll...23 for willard romney, 15 for ron paul, 8 for john mccain, 2 for mike huckabee, 1 for alan keyes, and 1 undecided. these results go to the MSM for spin. this is step #1. however, random town also gets to send 8 delegates (and 8 alternates) to the state convention. of these 8 delegates in random town, 6 support ron paul, 1 supports romney, and 1 hasn't made up her mind yet. these delegates are not bound by the straw poll results!
so, the big question is "how many RP supporters are delegates to the convention in Augusta, ME in May?" from what I have been hearing, we may have a good number! these delegates will select who goes to the national convention and fight the real battle.
consistently running 40% on delegates
some places had ALL Ron Paul delegates but we're averaging just above 40% in delegates picked up... despite the 20% beauty contest... shows which supporters are dedicated.
Ron Paul 2008
Good Point!
This is exactly how Nevada works with the delegates...they are nonbinding. Ron Paul came in second in Nevada but until the county and state convention we won't know for sure what delegates are for who.
nathalja, I'm quite PO'd too
nathalja, I'm quite PO'd too about Paul's 3rd place finish but cheer up: tomorrow there are still caucuses where Paul can do well (let's flood the caucuses with RP supporters and people who are delegates!!!) and Paul has the most (if not a majority) of all the state delegates (he even won the most in Portland). And after his performance in the MTV debate tonight, we might see a big shift of the undecideds going to Paul. Let's make sure that the undecideds watch this debate by talking to all of them. ;)
Why does Romney have ALL the delegates?
Maine is not winner-take-all, right?
Also, how the HELL is McINSANE beating Ron Paul now?
I do not like this ONE BIT! :(
I may be a vegetarian, but I'll defend to the death my right to eat pork!
I may be a vegetarian, but I'll defend to the death my right to eat pork!
18 delegates
They are showing 18 delegates for the Mittster. Maine has 21 total? what up?
They don't know what they are doing....
These are "guesstimates" of what they "feel" the delegates will turn out to be....they are not elected until May I believe....
No worries
From a Maine patriot:
I attended my town caucus in Maine (in York County). At each town caucus anyone was free to count the presidential preference survey votes and/or watch the votes counted. At my town caucus the votes were counted in front of everyone and this is most likely how it was done at the other towns as well. I don't expect that any fraud or unfair practices occured. Everything was conducted openly and fairly. The results in my town:
Presidential Preference Poll
Romney 9
Paul 6
McCain 5
Huckabee 2
However, Ron Paul got 1st place in delegates to the state convention for my town. My town can send 11 delegates to the state convention in May. All 11 seats were filled and 7 of the 11 seats were filled with Ron Paul supporters (this I know, not because delegates were required to express who they support, but because I personally know that these 7 delegates support Ron Paul). Ron Paul did not get 7 votes in the preference poll because one of the delegates nominated to the state convention had to leave early before the poll was conducted. Even though Ron Paul got either 2nd or 3rd in the presidential preference poll state wide, he likely did better with delegate representation to the state convention because many of his supporters were more willing to be delegates to the state convention. Even though my town filled its 11 seats, many towns did not fill there alloted seats because there were not enough people who wanted to fill them.
Keep in mind that the presidential preference poll is completely non-binding and has nothing whatsoever to do with the selection of delegates. I have already seen articles in the mainstream media which have said otherwise. This may or may not be true with the Democratic caucus next week, but it is not true of the Republican caucuses.
My
Town caucus in Maine we took 4 out of the 5 delegates for paul.
ljrdxyh - what town was this?

Don't know
Brent1776 was the original poster.
somebody help me
Ok, please forgive my ignorance but can someone please explain how a 3rd place finish here is good? I know the goal is delegates, but how many can possibly come out of a 3rd place finish?
Delegates elected first
Then people can go home - of those that stayed long enough to vote on a non-binding vote which means nothing, most voted for romney.....who cares...we got the delegates...
apparently a lot
we took away 40% (1st) of the delegates with only 22% of the popular vote (2nd)
it's quite simple. Ron Paul supporter are diehard and dedicated. Other were older crowd and lazy and didn't want to be delegates. They essentially forfeited their win.
