Maine is NOT Lost

For all of you out there who are getting really down by the "results" of the STRAW POLLS that were taken around the state, please please please listen:

Our presidential preference polls are completely non-binding and have NO DIRECT CORRELATION with the number of Maine state convention delegates OR Maine national convention delegates that will eventually choose the GOP nominee.

If the media is implying that Romney has won 18 delegates from Maine, that is ALL they are doing: IMPLYING. It is not true.

As of this afternoon, at about 3:30pm EST, I spoke to the Portland HQ and though Romney was already winning the straw polls, Dr. Paul had about half of the reported State Convention Delegate spots. Each town has a certain number of delegates which they will send to the state convention. There, those delegates will vote for the National GOP Convention delegates. The more RP State Delegates we get, the better his chance to win the National Delegates. Right now it's looking great.

There were reports of towns with Romney supporters overwhelmingly winning the straw polls with Ron Paul supporters taking the delegate positions. THAT is victory. I know of two towns that got over 40% of the delegates for Dr. Paul. My town will elect delegates in March. From now until that meeting, it is my mission to find Ron Paul supporters to fill all 19 of those spots.

Mainers! Get your butts off your couches, call your friends, and get over to your precincts tomorrow to become delegates!!! Romney has come out in full force. We've got some fightin' to do!!!

Thanks for clarifying.

I am getting lost with all of this caucus stuff. Confusing at first, but we seem to do well in them. Just have to keep plugging along.

Just imagine.

Ron Paul at the Convention giving a speech.

That would be worht its weight in GOLD!

Are these RP delegates making it known.....

....to the other candidates' supporters that they are for Ron Paul?

Or does it have to be announced who they support?

The reason I ask, it just seems like somehow the political machinery would block the RP delegates however way they could.

at my caucus

We named delegates FIRST before presidential preference

The others were simply lazy. They forfeited their win.

We had 22% for Ron Paul in popular vote (beauty contest) but walked away with 42% of the delegates.

When is the ME state convention?

Go President Paul!

May 2 and 3 at the Augusta

May 2 and 3 at the Augusta Civic center. only delegates and alternates will have credentials to go on the floor and participate but others may show up and watch. not only will we select the delegates to send to minneapolis/st.paul but also we will work on the state platform and take care of other business. should be a good time!
