R.J. Matson Cartoon is Insulting to Ron Paul
I found this cartoon very offensive. Ron Paul is hardly lost, but the Constitution is. Please e-mail this moron and tell him what you think.
Look at the 2/1/08 cartoon. Sorry

Got a reply as well:
"Hi Rob,
I do like a lot of what Ron paul has to say, especially on foreign
policy.
The cartoon is title "Lost" not "Dropped Out." Has Mike Gravel
formally dropped out? He's in the cartoon. Huckabee, too.
There are a lot of meanings to the word "Lost" and there is no shame
in being placed on a TV show with all of those other distinguished
Americans who ran and are still running campaigns for President.
We're still in Iraq but it can be said that effort is "lost." A team
can still be on the field in a game but that game can be "lost."
If John Edwards were still in the race with his strategy of racking
up delegates to take to a brokered convention, I would have put him
in the "Lost" cartoon, too.
Editorial cartoons make judgments. It is my judgment at this time
that the Ron Paul campaign is "Lost." I wish him well today. May I be
proven wrong.
Sincerely,
RJ

Anyone notice Huckabee peeking from the back of the crowd?
He just doesn't have a sign.
Don't get your britches in a bunch...
His reply to me:
Hi Dan,
I would have put John Edwards in the "Lost" cartoon even if he was still in the race with a strategy of racking up delegates to take to a brokered convention.
I wish Ron Paul well and I applaud him for opposing the occupation of Iraq in particular and our insane foreign policy in general.
There's no shame in being 'Lost" on that island with all those other distinguished Americans who ran and ares till running for President.
Sincerely,
RJ
Cool Yer Jets
It's from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch which

If I may be permitted a quote (Know Your Enemy, and a good post it was; I found the psyops info very interesting ...)

***extract***
Some say Churchill said "Never give up." It ain't true, LindaLou.. Churchill said "Never give in. "
...never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never-in nothing, great or small, large or petty - never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.
Seems to me allowing the Post-Dispatch to say and do as they please w/o challenge, be it a Democrat Rag or otherwise -- is simply 'giving in'. Something I would have thought you, sir, understood better than most.
Me too
Here is mine:
Mr. Matson,
News flash!! Dr. Ron Paul is still running for president. You ruined your Lost cartoon. Was this accidental or are you playing the CFR game? The very least you can do is be accurate. His rally in Denver had 3000+ people screaming, yelling and cheering. He came in second in Maine and Louisiana. He is still catching on. As people begin to understand what is happening, his following grows and grows.
Have you really checked things out? Are you actually for NAU, trilateral corridor, Real ID, crashing economy, wars neverending, forced healthcare, gun control, high prices that eliminate the middle class altogether. Really, are you that person? If not, you need to check on Dr. Paul at www.ronpaul2008.com and I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt. Certainly our media will not recognize Dr. Paul, which tells you just how well he is doing, so maybe this was not your fault.

Nothing overly strong yet something I feel lets the otherside know we are aware of their continuous mistreatment and not happy with it. Not much else we can do other than register a complaint is how I see it

Dear Sir,
I write to bring attention to one of your cartoons (2/1/08 by R.J. MATSON) –
As you know, the same shows a collection of former candidates for President of the USA; shown among this group is RON PAUL. Certainly skillfully/artistically rendered but not so funny, nevertheless; considering how this man has been blatantly mistreated by the media; and cartoons should be funny should they not?
It has become quite noticeable that mainstream media has excluded RON PAUL in their formal debates and during national televised sessions drastically and repeatedly limited the amount of time allotted him in comparison with other candidates addressing this nation on the various issues that form their individual campaign platform, respectively. This ‘out of sight – out of mind’ mentality seems nothing more than a tool of PsyOps that many claim to be widely in use to-day as regards our mainstream media in its dealing with us, i.e., The American People // Not nice them doing that to us, playing us like that. And what I find equally not nice is your newspaper cooperating in this bias. Of course your cartoon doesn’t exclude RON PAUL, no it takes another twist and turn and ‘includes him’ among those who have since bit the dust in this election process – guilt through association. I get the message, not sure how others might view the same failed attempt at humor.
As you know (or should know) RON PAUL continues to be a viable candidate for President of the USA.
I am disappointed that the St. Louis Post Dispatch would participate in media bias, even in the form of a simple cartoon.
I certainly have no idea how something like this might be fixed, I’m quite sure it can’t; that it’s already been published and circulated. And I suspect you will consider this email contact just another nut job finding an avenue to vent frustration. But I would hope not, and trust you might understand my concern in this regard.
Sincerely,
Good
Another poster said quit whining, get a backbone. I consider writing a person who makes a mistake, right or wrong, is having a backbone. Whining is when you do nothing and talk about how bad things are. Another kind of whining is belittling those who are doing something.
Grow a backbone please?
Did MLK go off and cry when people said he was fighting a lost cause?
Geez.
Who's crying?

Gus you should update your topic to include the 2-1-08 page the

not funny, tragic
politepaulite
I think the message was it didn't matter. Media picks the winners no matter what voters and supporters do. It just that Paul supporters are hanging in there. We have the right candidate running for the right reason. But how do we let others know. What is different is that while others give up, it gives us more reason to fight for our freedom.
Please edit your topic and add the date 2/1
His cartoons aren't insulting because they're not funny.
But what's sad for me is that Russmo's site
http://www.russmo.com
no-longer exists. Russmo didn't have those issues, believe me. Does anyone know him, or what happened to the site, or how we can make it come-back? Anyone familiar with his work will know it's worthwhile libertarian humor.

There is nothing funny in showing RON PAUL among all those other candidates who have since bit the dust and gone away -- and cartoons are supposed to be funny.
Damn it to hell, this is the reversal of exclusion but just as damaging. If it's not out of sight, out of mind -- it's -- guilt through association. RON PAUL is still an active participant for President of the United States.
I intend on contacting the St. Louis Post Dispatch (gonna send them an email) and registering a complaint in this regard. I ask that all of us do the same thing -- that should bring attention to not only the artist, and to the newspaper that allowed this insult, but also to our VOICE that says we are mad as hell and we're simply just not going to take this insulting treatment any longer.
