I think it is very significant that Ron Paul got 10% of the vote.
10% is enough to blackmail the Republican Party and change its course.
If Ron Paul does as well as 10% for the other 22 states today, that will be a victory.
I want my specific civil rights back. I am specifically fighting for a reverse of Internet regulation that makes it illegal for websites to let Americans talk to foreigners online without background checks on the American.
Now I also want investigations into corruption in Congress because I do not want rights being taken away via "deals" anymore. I was pro-war until I learned that jerks like McCain were making deals with the Democrats to get their unconstitutional social engineering laws passed in return for the Dems voting for things like the surge and Alito and funding for Iraq.
I could not trust Huckabee to keep his delegates until September.
Romney will keep his delegates until September if he wins Georgia and California today. So I would go for Romney if I was forced to vote between the 3.
Huckabees delegates aren't OWNED by huckabee. If huckabee drops out or tries for VP his delegates aren't bound to anyone. I KNOW many huckabee supporters NONE of them want McCain, Huckabees OWN delegates would NOT vote for McCain.
Hurricane resident Carol Young said it's unfair that an "elite tier" of Republicans can determine more than half of the state's national convention delegates. With only nine national convention votes coming from the primary, Young said she is outraged that other Republicans in the state don't have a chance to be equally represented.
"Why, if they were making a drastic change in the way we can nominate our presidential candidate, did they not publicize it?" Young said. "We were robbed of the right to vote."
John Morris, chairman of the Cabell County Republican Executive Committee, said he was not satisfied with the amount of publicity for the new format. A more widespread, diverse group of Republicans would be a better representation of the party, he said.
"There's been a lot of confusion. If I have anything to do about it, I'd make sure we never have a convention again," Morris said. "I'd like to go back to the primary."
The new convention process required registered Republicans to vote online or during a county convention for at-large county delegates to represent them at Tuesday's convention. At-large county delegates total 42 percent of the delegates at the statewide convention. Other delegates are all the members of the county Republican executive committees, all the members of the West Virginia Executive Committee, state Republican Lawmakers and Secretary of State Betty Ireland, Fish said.
Mike Ankrom, political director for the West Virginia Republican Club and Cabell County GOP convention delegate, said the new process will allow the state to affect national politics.
"West Virginia can actually have it's voice heard. Before, there was no reason for a presidential candidate to come to West Virginia, but now that the convention will be first to announce its results, candidates want to come to West Virginia," Ankrom said. "It's unfortunate that not many people are participating in the process, but they still have their vote to cast during the primary."
Republican Rebecca Lepanto of Huntington said she is happy to be represented in Charleston by elected delegates but hopes the convention format will change to allow loyal GOP voters to cast their votes in a primary election together. A nationwide GOP primary would give all states, not a select few, the opportunity to determine who will receive the GOP nomination, she said.
The warning was out yesterday for GOP shennanigans...
OK so he said Ron Paul is being eliminated do to the fact he has the lowest number of delegates cast - how does the 221 come in to play, or does it not?
I hope the Ron Paul delegates don't vote in the next round! No horse trading!
The only thing that gets through to people in times of universal deceit is the wallet and concerns for cash. The war, this or that...it's not real to most people, just another thing on TV occasionally.
when that war costs us trillion dollars isn’t the time to remind people that economy and war are not separate issues? Who won the first round there, John Denver?
The county has the ability to have that many delegates and those spots were not filled. Also Thompson's and Ghoul's delegates can't bo to them since they are not in....
Obviously these people still think "Islamofascists" need to be fought. RP just knocks people over the head with "You are wrong and I am right" while repeating the same lines about "they hate us because we are there" that the far, far, far left wing hit these people with back in 2002 and 2004.
There are other ways to get through to pro-war people, mainly by not talking about foreign policy so much but appearing very strong and capable when asked how to deal with an attack or threat. RP will need to tweak his message in order to get through to these people better.
Personally, I am pro-war and I was won over because RP voted against all Internet regulation.

in my state you counted the votes and then you won based upon those votes. But they are showing delegates in both spots on the graph.Sorry, but I don't live in WV, I don't know how it works there, it just seems that the graph on the (left) projection is off. The number of delegates available doesn't match the votes cast. You are saying that's normal?

CNN
On CNN.com they are reporting 100% WV results and paul came in fourth with 10% and 118 delegates
Anyway: Ron Paul got 10% of the West Virginia vote
I think it is very significant that Ron Paul got 10% of the vote.

If our delegates have a brain
they vote for Huckabee.
Not about issues now, it's about spreading out the national delegates.
Huckabee is trying to be McCain's VP
I could not trust Huckabee to keep his delegates until September.
Romney will keep his delegates until September if he wins Georgia and California today. So I would go for Romney if I was forced to vote between the 3.

Good point
I see your point.
Speaking as a Republican, Romney probably smells less than the others, but we're talking about matters of degrees of **** here.
I think they should vote for Romney
we need huckabee out....
and a win or two tonight in a state or two...

This article explains the new GOP WV process

This was never ours
The .pdf in the www.wvgop.org has some 500+ delegates that were elected.
In that count we did relatively well.
However there were 1200+ people in the convention and rest off course are the party hacks or neocons who want to keep their jobs.
Ron Paul Eliminated
OK so he said Ron Paul is being eliminated do to the fact he has the lowest number of delegates cast - how does the 221 come in to play, or does it not?
I hope the Ron Paul delegates don't vote in the next round! No horse trading!
Eliminated...
in West Virginia...
Good luck Vet
The only thing that gets through to people in times of universal deceit is the wallet and concerns for cash. The war, this or that...it's not real to most people, just another thing on TV occasionally.
But
when that war costs us trillion dollars isn’t the time to remind people that economy and war are not separate issues? Who won the first round there, John Denver?
RP just eliminated
He was just eliminated.
That was what I was saying: The war is a non-issue to most. My individual rights are everything.
Well this was confusing
Apparently some party officials were added on top of the at-large delegates otherwise the results don't make sense.
Also some of the RP delegates flip-flopped if the 221 was in fact correct.
Well now it's up to RP voters to decide who wins Mitt or Huckster.
What a load of crock.
And now "Junior" back-on. Excruciating.
221?
No we had 79 promised delegates, don't know where the 221 came from.
221 came from some other post
I counted 84 yesterday for RP with entire total 559. But there were over 1200 people in the convention.
My logic says that the roughly 550 were the at-large delegates of which we had the roughly 80. The rest 650 were party officials or neocon hacks...
So in reality we never stood a change to begin with.
Off camera
Someone off camera said that Paul has "basically been eliminated".
wtf zero zero zero god damn
probably don't even have that new fangled internet thingy
This "Ron Paul...Zero"..."Ron Paul...Zero" said with relish
These people seem to really dislike RP. This is a wake up call for us.
no more than our dislike
"These people seem to really dislike RP"
Probably no more than the dislike we have for McCain or Rudy. In sports and politics you have your team and everyone else is your competitor.
Ok, how the hell does this work???
I just saw a county have 46 votes and it stated they had 57 delegates.
I also saw a county have 15 votes and only 12 delegates!
Can someone explain to me how this works, or are the people in WV just using some very fuzzy math? ;)
Missing Delegates
They probably forgot to show up.
I think...
The county has the ability to have that many delegates and those spots were not filled. Also Thompson's and Ghoul's delegates can't bo to them since they are not in....
Somewhere in their is where it lays.
WV must
like taking other peoples money and grabbing it for themselves. Huck and Romney love to make promises with money they don't have.
Too painful to keep watching
Most of these people cannot even SPEAK correctly and there "home of the yada yada yada" garbage is SICKENING!
I would take it as a sign to tweak the message
Obviously these people still think "Islamofascists" need to be fought. RP just knocks people over the head with "You are wrong and I am right" while repeating the same lines about "they hate us because we are there" that the far, far, far left wing hit these people with back in 2002 and 2004.

I thought it was ONE delegate, ONE vote!
The Votes
DO not add up to the Delegate totals
o.k
in my state you counted the votes and then you won based upon those votes. It is an elimination process
I hope McNut gets eliminated.
"He who exercises government by means of his virtue may be compared to the north polar star, which keeps its place and all the stars turn towards it." Confucius
Down 47
Down 47 to Mccain
No one
In this state even knows how to pronounce "Hucklebee's" name!
I’m sure
they can spell “welfare checks” correctly.
I can see you can too..
hehe..:)
Or "Romuney"...lol
:-)
Putnam
delegates add up to 32, missing 7.
I don't know but
the past 4of 5 counties has Ron Paul @ 0 NOT GOOD!
Need 34
to get past Mccain
Pocahotas County
missing votes too, 3 counties so far.
The starting point was
Ron Paul 221
Mitt Romney 154
Mike Huckabee 122
Fred Thompson 112
Rudy Guliani 62
John McCain 17
Uncommitted 261
So 221 should be minimum. What is the tally so far?
This "news coverage" is TERRIBLE!!!
"West Virginia-- we like ourselves on camera"
Hang on
Two good counties brought in another 25 for Ron!
I don't see any of the Paul delegates voting for
anyone else. Ron Paul will surely get eliminated after round one. This is like the Demo caucus in Iowa, I don't agree with it.
Ron in 4th
will probably be eliminated in first round.
