A member of our meetup group here in Rockland County, NY just called me. He went to vote at his precinct, enters the booth AND SURPRISE SURPRISE Ron Paul's name is not on the ballot! He was supposed to be at the top in our state. What's more, the numbskulls at the precinct didn't even notice!!!
John Edwards was on the ballot. Rudy Guiliani was there. But no Ron Paul.
So he goes to the old fogies running this precinct and says "Where's Ron Paul?"
They go "Who? He must have dropped out."
An entire day gone by where Ron Paul wasn't even on the ballot, and nobody bothers to correct it. The Board of Elections will be hearing about this for sure.
This makes me want to expat myself that much sooner.

I am in Suffolk County
There were no problems that I noticed.
Ron Paul's name was at the top of the list then there were spaces and then everyone else was listed towards the bottom, I took a picture of my vote with my phone.
Rudy's name was on there.
I am an Expat in Germany but from Rockland County, NY
I went to Suffern High School and then joined the Army. After occupying Germany for a few years, I decided to stay.
Rockland County (just above NYC and across the river) is depressing for single males because it is drained of all young women by the vacuum cleaner of NYC. It has mostly seniors and the kind of person who is willing to commute 2 hours each way to Manhattan just to have an acre of land "in the woods". Many of these people must be hurting now with the subprime crash.
Most people tend to spend their whole lives close to home, but Rockland County, where I was born and grew up, repulsed me at age 17 like the back side of a magnet. I have been comfortable everywhere else on Earth except there since. I am not into 2 hour commutes to get to work.

If you grew up in the NYC suburbs it is damn near impossible to live where you grew up unless if you live with your parents. Of course, the whole area is cultureless suburban sprawl, why would any young adult want to live here? The cost of living is unbearably high in metro NYC, and a home in these suburban counties just isn't realistically affordable unless if you have been pulling good income for at least a decade, probably more.
I'm in NYC and I voted- my experience...
Me and five of my friends all voted, but in different places since we live in different areas of the city. Obviously we're all RP supporters. Anyway, as a poster below noted, in NYC there are these big, clunky, 2000 pound, solid metal, lever machines left over from some election in 1830 that that have to be in either "R" mode to vote for a republican, or "D" more to vote for a democrat. (What independents or 3rd parties do, I have NO idea).
In all our cases, the poll workers either (a) did not know how to put the machine in "R" mode to vote for a republican, or (b) when we requested the machine be put in "R" mode to vote for a republican, we were asked over and over "are you sure?" "you can chose from these candidates over here" while being shown the democratc options.
Not exactly voter fraud, but really annoying. It took me 5 minutes and 4 different poll workers before I was "allowed" to vote for RP. And I was treated like crap by the poll workers the whole time for not voting democrat. Oh yeah, not to mention the Obama supporter right outside the place telling me to "join the revolution". That was at least fun, since I got to tell him he was part of a superficial, phony revolution, and that RON PAUL was the real revolution!
I will say, looking back, I MUST'VE been the 1st GOP voter at my place, since they told me that was the first time all day they had to put the machine in "R" mode to vote for a republican (which is why no one knew how to do it). And I didn't vote until 1pm. So, that's 7 hours of the polls being open, that not one other republican voted? Seems weird. But possible in certain areas on NYC, of course.

Wow, I would've been annoyed as heck having an obama supporter telling me to join the revolution(blatant rip-off of RP). What did he say when you told him Ron Paul was the REAL revolution?

His face just kinda dropped, and he moved onto the next guy right away. I would've talked more, but I was REALLY sick all day with 102 fever. I actually spent the whole day in bed- vomiting and sweating with a terrible stomach flu. I only left my apartment once all day- to vote. And then went straight back home to puke and sleep for another 12 hours. Sicker than I'd been in years. What timing! I'm ok now though. Or least- nearly ok.

On ronpaulforums there are also reports of serious problems in Long Island and also in New Jersey. Poll workers insisting Ron Paul has dropped out!!

Hardly possible. Most people probably didn't know it had to be changed and their vote just "didn't count". How many care enough to make the stink like you did? BUUUT..probably most RP people would have so...sigh..

Even if the person didn't know it had to be changed, they would've known SOMETHING was wrong, because the machine actually locks up in "D" mode or "R" mode- making it impossible for you not to pick your choice. That's how I knew something was wrong. I kept trying to push the button for Ron Paul, but it was locked and would not press down even slightly, because the machine was in "democrat mode". So, I had to call a worker over for help, and that when the whole mess began. I guess anyone looking to vote for any republican would have had the same "all buttons are locked and frozen" on the GOP side experience, and called a worker for help.

That's what I kept thinking. "how possible is it that I was the FIRST..." But in my neighborhood, maybe. Some places in NYC are literally 100% democrat. Especially in my hood which is nearly all lower income african americans- a large percentage of whom, unfortunately, are on welfare. I'm sure there are other places in other states that are nearly 100% unquestionably GOP- in the deep south perhaps.
In any cae, as you said, any RP supporter would NOT leave without voting for Ron Paul. So... sigh.

I've heard about this all over the country today ........... the funny thing is Ron Paul's committee will be kicking some ass this week :) the voter fraud is just laughable. We all know he won probably every state with the visible support you see everywhere. The joke is that now it all has to be cleaned up. I heard the same from my daughter in california who is voting the first time this year.It's gonna be a nightmare sorting this out.

Michael said someone told him a piece of paper must have fallen over Ron Paul's name when setting up the ballot. Wasn't this excuse also used in a pre-Super Tuesday state? I heard it somewhere, but I can't remember which state, city...whatever... this happened in.

CNN and FOX should have a complaint filed against them for vote fraud.
FOX kept saying things like "which of these three will be the GOP nominee" and never said or showed anything about RP, giving the impression he wasn't in the running.
I'll bet some places will have to take a revote.!

Thanks for the info! I contacted the NYC HQ immediately following the incident. I've been in contact with them throughout the evening and they said they will follow up with me tomorrow. However, I did not call the main campaign hq and I am wondering whether I should call or just expect the NYC HQ to be in contact with them... Its probably safer to just call so call I will. Thanks for the information again.

I reported it also, and said, there are two, and they told you that others complained as well.
I think someone should put out the call to all NY RP supporters to report anything like this.
Between this, Louisiana (what the heck is the percent/delegate count there anyway? and what is going on now in NH, I'm thinking it's like we live in a 3rd world country!

Obstructing Democracy in NY!
Hey all,
yes what has been said is 100% true. I'm the guy he is speaking about. My name is Mike Kulesza. I've contacted the NYC HQ and several local news agencies personally and the HQ has contacted the Daily News. I was told by the Journal News (www.lohud.com) which serves Rockland, Westchester, Putnam Counties and NYC that this story would print tomorrow, although briefly. I'll be making a video with a personal account of what happened and it'll be on YouTube by tomorrow. HQ is taking this very seriously as it should and the Rockland County Board of Elections admitted fault to the Journal News but gave a less than satisfactory excuse for the "mistake". Apparently they said a piece of paper was placed over a candidates name who dropped out and this paper must have fallen over Congressman Paul's name... Well that's strange b/c no one is above Paul on the ballot so how would the paper have just fallen over his name. Whatever the reason or excuse, whether legitimate or not, whether a mistake or not, its certainly unacceptable and their insistance that "Ron Paul has dropped out" was outrageous. I literally argued with them that there is no way that he did until I demanded that they call the Board of Elections and give me a affidavit to vote for Paul. Anyway I'll post a link to the news story and the YouTube video once its up. In the mean time contact the NY GOP and news agency and let them know about this obstruction of democracy!!!!
FYI the polling place in question was at the Stony Point Ambulance Corps at 6 Lee Ave Stony Point NY 10980. Rockland County NY

If you say you went to vote at 1 PM in the afternoon, then do you mean to tell me that NOT ONE RP voter was there in the morning? And am I expected to believe that if ONE other RP voter was told this they would not also have clued these people in and insisted on voting for him? People in other parts of New York have voted for Ron Paul without any problem. Apparently he was on the ballot. Are ballots state controlled or county controlled?

I think he's probably mistaken...
Hopefully he took a Republican ballot and not a Democrat ballot (Edwards and Rudy on the same ballot doesn't make sense).
Rockland country clearly has Paul on their candidate list in the top position (the same as every other county in NY). I think this is a miscommunication or voter error.

No, it's election worker error
See my response below. You don't pick one party ballot in NY, the election worker controls a lever to enable the D or the Rs levers on the voting machine. When you walk in, both parties are there, and in fact, the Rs took a few extra seconds to find on upstate machines, because the Ds took up the first bunch of rows, and the Rs just had one row on the very bottom, almost waist-level.
A few days ago, the state BoE decided to remove the candidates who had dropped out, AFTER the ballot was already set, but before Giulinani officially dropped out. See discussion about that here: http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/dailypolitics/2008/01/ny-ba...

Yes, your right he's on the ballot. He was even on the sample ballot on the wall of my polling place but he was not on the ballot in the voting booth and upon asking why he wasn't they told me over and over he must have dropped out despite me insisting that he did not. They did not offer me a affidavit (a write in ballot) until I insisted that they call the Board of Elections. That was the problem.
