Did you vote in California? Any hitch?
When I voted, my name was not on the list, although I sent in the registration form twice, once a couple of months before the deadline, and because I had received no response, again on the day of the deadline. They allowed me to cast a ballot because my name was on an "inactive" list. While I was there, another prospective voter came to the table with the same story. He sent in his form, and never heard back from the registrar. Then another showed up with the same story. There weren't over about eight people there, total. I talked to the lady in charge. She said a lot of people were saying the same thing. I asked how many. She said she didn't know, because she had no instructions to count them or to keep any record.

Without a Hitch - Voted in Los Angeles
My girlfriend and I voted this morning here in Marina del Rey (Los Angeles). Went off without a hitch. Used Paper Ballots. We're stylin'.
Go Ron Paul!!!!!
had to vote on provisional ballot
My name was on the list, but as absentee, so I had to vote a provisional ballot, never had to do that before? It was put in a pink envelope in a pile with a bunch of other ones, it wasn't run thru the machine. I re-registered a month ago so I would no longer be absentee, because my sister votes absentee and her ballot was returned/vote not counted in the past due to signature not matching? I'm in Paso Robles California. Also I overheard a lady telling the workers they had done something wrong with another voter, he was alternate party? but wanted to vote democrat, but they didn't give him a regular democrat ballot, they made him do provisional. All in all they seemed really confused about what they were doing which gave me no confidence that my vote would be counted correctly. They also gave me the option of doing provisional democrat ballot which I believe would have made my vote invalid because I'm a registered republican and I thought in CA you have to vote the repulican ballot in the primaries if you're registered republican? What a mess!!!!!
Yes
I had a similar issue. At first, the lady found my name on a list where I showed as non affiliated and tried to tell me I had to vote democrat. I had to explain to her a few times that I was registered and if there was a number to call, so she finally sent me to the first desk telling me I could cast a provisional ballot.
While I was at the other desk, my girlfriend stepped up to check in, and they found her name on a completely different list, that had just our names on it.
The precinct officer told me (very unconvincingly) that my vote "should count". Needless to say, I took down all the information. To follow up with.

No problems here
Everything went as it always has went for me. I make sure they can't read me on how I would vote.
Reporting from San Gabriel City (4mi so. of famed Rose Parade..)
...a virtual hassle free except for finding my name initially on the Democrat roster (old) but a smart pollworker found my name in the new Republican one...
We use the "Ink-A-Vote" sys....outta door in 2 min, simply a no brainer.
Feels good voting for the 1st time...and definitely great voting for RP!
"In circuit motorsport, a driver has..."Paul position" when he or she starts a race at the front of the grid."
make sure to check the
make sure to check the supplemental roster for those registered recently, which is the latest. I turned in mine 2 weeks ago, not surprised to find my name there.
Voting in Whittier
When I went to my precinct's polling place, wearing my Ron Paul shirt, some guy behind me in line told me "You can't wear that here. It's illegal." I said "What law am I breaking?" He didn't know. He just "knew" it was illegal. I told him "If you think I'm a criminal, you'll have to call the cops and have me arrested." He said they wouldn't give me a ballot, it's "electioneering", etc. When I asked him to define "electioneering", he said it means I'm promoting a particular candidate. I said "I'm not promoting a candidate, I'm just wearing a shirt. Have I influenced your vote?" He said "No.", but continued his harassment all the way to the sign-in table where a college-age guy just looked at my sample ballot and had me sign the register. I got a ballot - no problem. I'll be damned if I let some uneducated a-hole tell me how to dress on election day.
Santa Cruz no problem
Voted at the fire house. No problems. They offered the one touch screen machine vs the many paper machines (5 or 6). I chose paper. Fed it to the machine when I was done. Very slow there at 10am, only 1 other voter, but no grief.
I even put my I Voted! sticker above my RP bumper sticker on the back of my motorcycle helmet - the woman just laughed.
Go Ron!

Hah! I did that too! (on my truck)
Let's start a trend...
Were Going to Vote Right now
My 3 family members who live in San Joaquin County are getting ready right now to go vote. So I know there will be 3 votes here for Ron Paul and hopefully lots and lots more. Lets wake up America we are going to be so screwed if he doesn't win. The other candidates are liars and I am afarid for my family and everyone else if they get in. Please vote today tell the world we are ready for change. Ron Paul 2008 all the way...:O)
hey neighbor!
I'm here in San Joaquin County too! Just got back from voting, we put on all our Ron Paul gear and cast our vote. We feel the same way as you about our families.
God Bless
p.s. we were surprised and ecstatic that they had went back to paper ballots!!
O.K. in Van Nuys, CA
Seemed O.K. We have the Ink-A-Vote system, mark a ballot with a marker thing and they run it through the counter right there, built in to the ballot box. At 3:30pm about 175 voters. The personnel were friendly and seemed competent. The woman in front of me got a provisional ballot.
No big crowds yet (after work maybe?), just a few people in line.
Some of "my people" crapped out on me though. ;-(
A lot of people voting defensively vs what they believe.
A couple didn't re-register, my fault ;-(
My girlfriend stayed Democrat to vote Obama against Clinton,
My brother is still undecided when I talked to him, he's leaning McCain!?!!! To block Romney/Democrats. AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!
But I got my mother on board! ;-)
Passed out the rest of my flyers and put up a few more signs last night.
(A couple are still up!)
update: My other brother just called, he DID vote for Ron Paul...
The NASCAR sponsorship won him over! ;-)
No problems
Voted in Santa Monica with no problems -- although I registered as Republican back in October and called secretary of state in November to verify.
Like some others here, I did get some strange looks when I asked for a Republican ballot (maybe because I'm a 30 year old woman) ;)
In love, liberty and truth,

RON PAUL 2008
You switched to GOP?!....Eeeeeooowww!
"..Like some others here, I did get some strange looks when I asked for a Republican ballot (maybe because I'm a 30 year old woman) ;).."
Ditto..actually, the 1st table babe (stare one) told me to go to the "orange" table..thereafter the dude who checked my name on the "o" table said that I'm Democrat, but I countered that...I changed parties before 1/22 GOP cutoff for CA. and that which is why I showed to them the Voter Notification postcard...then the supervisor dude eventually found my name in the GOP roster (stare two)...

I had glitches on my late re-registration to Republican
which others won't have a problem with (long story). As a result, my registration showed my original status and the supplemental list did not yet have my changes. I had to use a provisional ballot for the first time in my life.
The provisional then is placed into a separate ballot box and not run through the machine like the others. This means any provisional votes won't be showing up on tonight's tabulations. They actually have up to 40 days to count them all as that is the date when the election returns are "official".
I got some mean looks when I
I got some mean looks when I asked for a Republican Ballot in San Francisco. Other than that it was fine.
None
No problems here, Ron Paul has strong backing in my town too.

wasnt a problem...
I voted 5 times
No problems here! When I went in the first time to give them my name, I looked up another name nearby on the list, and memorized their address. Voted, came back an hour later, told them I was someone else, gave them the other address. Looked up another name, came back after lunch, did it again....
No sweat, right?
Just kidding I didn't do that, but I or anyone else could have, since they don't check ID and justhave the stupid list out for all to see..
Laugh
Thats Funny
Happened to me in Pasadena.
Happened to me in Pasadena.
2 votes here in Woodland Hills CA ...no problem.
I did think that it was interesting though that of the 7 polling booths set up, only 2 were for republicans. We are really outnumbered by dems in our area -= much more than I had thought, but I think that will be good for us.
For Liberty!

I was on the list. Hardly anyone there. I'm in Santa Clara County.
Me too
Smooth as silk
Smooth as a pancreas puree!
I was the only voter there at the time, but my vote went swimmingly.

Yup, happened to me and my girl. It's not uncommon apparently. Pathetic.
