We Are Going to a Brokered Convention!!! Look at the Numbers!!!

Republican Delegates: 1,191 needed to win nomination

Worth repeating: 1,191 delegates are needed to win the GOP nomination.

WHY DO YOU THINK the old media is freaking out right now?

As of right now....
http://www.realclearpolit...

McCain has 566 delegates, which includes NY and CA.

Super Tuesday is called Super Tuesday because it is the most delegate rich primary and caucus day in presidential politics.

McCain is on borrowed time and money, literally.

McCain is not going to win as many delegates in the remaining states as he won tonight.

Even if McCain repeats tonight's lame performance, he will still be short of the 1191 delegates necessary.

Mitt is about to drop out....many of his votes will go our way.

Huckster has no more cash.

St. Paul, here we come.

Great! We'll take our 25 delegates and sweep the floor!

Whether Ron Paul goes to

Whether Ron Paul goes to third party doesn't matter. Whether Ron Paul goes to a brokered convention doesn't matter. Whether Ron Paul becomes President doesn't matter. What DOES matter is that now we KNOW there are a lot of like minded individuals with FACTS to back up what we know. This R3VOLUTION isn't about winning this presidency. It's about galvanizing support for a total shift in the minds of the populace towards Paulian style government, strict adherence to the Constitution and refusing to be bought.

As our economy comes crashing down it will be PERFECT timing for us to put up billboards across the country, tv ads on local stations, newspaper ads etc., explaining WHY the system is crashing. WHY we can't police the world. WHY the cost of goods are going up. WHY social security is bankrupt. WHY the terrorists attack us.

The population has been lulled to sleep for quite some time. It is going to take a few years to wake them up, but when we do.....look out!!! Ron Paul has already won folks!! There are now enough of us to come together and actually make a coordinated effort at changing the debate. One of the primary methods of propagandist populace control is to control the debate....what is deemed acceptable and what is not. Well now Ron Paul has put a MASSIVE dent into that control. We just HAVE to keep hammering away until it cracks and then winds up bursting from the pressure of a widespread enlightening of the populace.

I mean, we have Joe Cramer, Stephen Colbert, Glenn Beck and many other mainstream media who are actually going hrmmmmmm this guy is actually making sense. We can't just give up now. We have to run with the ball that Ron Paul has handed off to us. As he stated, this is OUR revolution and he is very thankful to be a part of it.

It is now our duty as citizens to strengthen our determination and let it be forged hard as steel by the blatant electioneering attempts done by the mainstream media. Millions of people saw what happened this year and although they know what is right and wrong, they didn't want to *throw their vote away*. You don't know how many people said I agree with Ron Paul whole heartedly, but he just can't win. That's ok you know. THOSE are the people who will become part of this movement as our economy comes tumbling down.

It's about spreading the truth folks.

You're wrong

McCain is the only one that can possibly win. The real important number is that Romney cannot possibly win.

Why would Romney want to cause a brokered convention ? He will drop out before causing a brokered convention.

What about

the 5 majority wins needed?

I wouldn't.....

count on it. So far ALL estimations have been entirely wrong. Like "the win" in Alaska, for example.

St. Paul=Saint Paul

We have alot of delegates already....STEALTH delegates and this is what people have got to realize and stay focused.

Don't you think it is peculiar that the convention is in a place that is named St. Paul?? It is a HUGE SIGN that this is the destination for the Revolution if we don't give up.

Now Your Talking!!!

Be careful some on this site will call you out for such talk. I have been called neo-con, idiot, bum, etc etc

But I agree, we need to turn this into a third party run now while we still have enough folks motivated.

WAKE UP AMERICA

KT

Why would we go 3rd party

when we are probably headed toward a brokered convention. You need to get your facts straight. This system is totally biased against 3rd party. RP would get even less attention than he does now. Why do you think RP is working within the system. At this point it makes sense. Do you even read the letters he sends his supporters??

Dose anyone get that

the convention is not till September? Oh yea lets all just hope that all the non committed delegates change their minds and they all vote for Ron Paul. If we wait till then we are left with no options if we lose, and I can not see any way we could win. Lets be realistic. We need more voters. How many people can we convert from now till September trying to convince them that Ron Paul has a chance at a brokered convention? Lets say Ron Paul pulls off some kind of wonderful and wins the GOP nomination based on delegates, but the fact is the media will report that he never even came close in any election. Hillary/Obama will win in a land slide. The real issue is, we have 9 months till the general election and the question is what will be the best way for us to spend our time and money? Truth is if we put all our eggs in a brokered convention basket I don't think there is any chance we could win the general election even if we won the GOP, the time frame is too short. It would be less then 2 months to convince the population that Ron Paul, who did not get any of the popular vote should win against the Hillary/Obama ticket. I am in Florida and I have a meetup and we worked our asses off here and I can feel the let down of the bad results and I have some real questions about vote fraud in Florida, but on the good side in the general election we will be back to paper ballots. On the bad side it will be hard for me to rally my troops on the way out chance that Ron Paul some how wins a brokered convention in September. On the up side, it would be very easy for me to rally them for a 3rd party/Independent run and give us 9 months to canvas, educate, donate and change minds. 9 months of working for something instead of 7 months of hoping for a slim chance of winning a brokered convention. We need to keep the Revolution moving forward in a way in which we can set positive goals and make sure that in November we have a voice. We need to get Ron Paul on the November ballot no matter what happens in September. The way things are going it is going to be Billary V Mc Insane and with 9 months we could really make a change! Lets get the 3rd party started!

We have a much better chance at winning the brokered convention.

We are getting more delegates than people outside of the RP camp realize. In the meantime we continue the re-education of America and then by September many, many more of the general population realize they should have voted for RP, but probably not enough even by November to win 3rd party. 3rd party is a dead end. It would prove a point, but probably wouldn't win an election. Paul can beat Obama/Clinton, I have no doubt in that.

why are you still on daily paul? aren't you a detractor?

IF we win the nomination, we are GUARANTEED the General!

Because all of Hillary and ObamIran's voters are anti-war, yet they are not.

Enough said.

I am reading all over

that you need a majority in five states to be allowed at convention? Can someone confirm this?

It ain't over by a LONG SHOT

Read this my fellow Ron Paul supporters, this is a GREAT article, and it could change your life......seriously

GO RON PAUL 2008, GO FREEDOM!!!

Best place to view to information

http://www.thegreenpapers...

They have the most accurate information around and truly understand the different way the primaries and caucuses are run.

What I have come to understand by following this election process that the media is the most important thing in crowning the candidates for the election and even after that selecting the next president. The key is to embarrass candidate to drop-out like they did with Giuliani, Thompson and Edwards. And most likely will do to Romney and Huckabee.

Due to the fragmented ways no one really knows what is the true result and how it came to be. Eg. if only RP leaning delegates are chosen in Alaska and Colorado we could have 72 delegates in RNC. Even though he got some 16% and 9% in the non-binding vote. Also as candidates drop-out delegates truly have a choice to support whom ever they like.

We just need to hang in there till the convention since if it's McInsane against St. Paul the selection will be clear win for RP. By that time everyone will come to understand that any other decision will hand over the victory to Clinton/Obama.

It ain't over till

the FAT LADY SINGS!!! Her next performance is in St. Paul in Sept. when 2380 people come together to decide who the GOP candidate is and the one who gets 1191 wins. All this BS since Iowa in Jan was just a BS show. The 2380 in St Paul are the real votes. Are you putting forth you best effort to be one of those 2380 people in St Paul?

I just had a thought... "St.

I just had a thought...

"St. Paul"

hahaha

just saying...........

Optimism is good, being naive and hopeful is blinding.....
I'm supporting him to the end, or else I wouldn't have voted for him today or donated tons of $$$$. Not literally tons but you catch my drift. I just want to keep people motivated to the point where anything is possible. Keep an open mind, but we are going against a system that sucks and that is corrupt as hell. Don't pull for the other guy because you want to go with the supposed winning team, its not sports people this is real life and we have to still back our top guy for the presidency. I just don't want people to think its over guy.

3rd Party Turncoats....

Look people, our leader is Ron Paul and according to him we are dong unbelievably well. Of course we would like to see our 'establishment busting' candidate win the gold but given the political climate it's not in the cards...and should come as no surprise. Ron Paul is hitting numbers in the 20%'s in some states, his supporters that went to the polls surpassed 500K (and these are not thin skinned sheeple). The stakes are high here and the players behind the scenes and Ron Paul himself know better than we do what the best course of action is. they have been fighting this fight for 30+ years and are not going to blow it due to a few vociferous turncoats.

I plan to stay in line with Ron Paul. All I see is growing momentum with brief interruptions by perspectives such as the one forwarded here.

very optimistic,.........

but Romney has cash to through around, he is like that rich kid who wants that new toy,.........unless someone keeps bringing up that mormon thing and corporate backings (lobbyist) than he still has a chance. Paul needs to make more commercials or just go to more MTV setups where he can get more showtime. What also sucks is the Republican setup that doesn't let non partisan voters vote in the primary. Dems are banking on these votes, that is why we are hurting, so that is why I say keep going even he doesn't get the nomination for some ungodly reason!

Um...

Mitt said tonight that he is not going to drop out of the race.

Huck will raise MORE money after tonight's showing.

A brokered convention is inevitable.

Paul will win a Republican election much easier than a 3rd party run.

reply

Go back and read Dr. Pauls campaign message from last week Monday Jan 28 where he talks about his certainty of a brokered convention. The thing about todays results is McCain didn't seal the deal and has to drum up more money to keep campaigning hard. Huckabee did well today but doesn't have any money to do anything. Romney has the money to keep hammering away and he will do just that because like Ron he knows it will not really be decided until St. Paul. I look for Romney to make another appeal to Huck to drop out, Mikey is in a great bargaining position right now so it will interesting to see what carrot is dangled before him

clearly money is not the issue

Or we would have won many of the states today and the Huckster would have lost no? As to Mittens, he can cut another check as the number of states left requires less resources than Feb 5th. While it is true that Huckabee has a few states left in the nominal south he can do well in, McCain will carry the bigger ones left - PA, OH, etc. There will be no brokered convention as ultimately McCain will win - either outright or with Huckabees delegates - its unlikely he will need more than a handful.

And to those suggesting we have 'stealth' delegates who are pledged to others but will vote for Ron - I just cant support that. Its theft from the people who voted for those candidates and makes us no better than those who try to rig voting machines and voter roles.

As to a 3rd party run, I think that would be a disaster as well. In the primary states he is pulling 5-6% give or take. In a general I can't see him getting more than 15% total, perhaps 18 if its against Hillary. To think that the establishment Republicans who have voted for Huck/Mitt will go to Ron as a 3rd party is folly - especially if its against Hillary. At best some of them would just stay home, at worst they will go to McCain to do anything they can to stop Hillary - as distasteful as McCain is to most of them. And if its Obama, you can forget about getting many Dem converts.

The *best* thing Ron can do, IMHO, is to exit gracefully at some point in th e next month and establish a PAC with the funds left from his campaign to promote candidates who share his philosophy. Ultimately changing the path of the country revolves around changing the legislature and that can only be done one house and senate seat at a time.

I spent 8 months on this campaing to only get about 5%. Its a little depressing but I went into it knowing the odds and knowing that the most important thing his campaign could do is to provide a counter to the neocons and the mommy state progressives. Unfortunately not enough were willing to admit the errors of their ways to give Ron a win, but he has provided a foot hold for the future.

rant.st views on finance, politics and science

Even if there is a brokered convention....

We won't have enough delegates to do anything....The TIME to think about a 3rd Party Run is NOW!.....Things are coming together for a run that might indeed rival Perot's.....

When Ron Paul Says it's time, it's time- no sooner no later

If you would like to offer your expertise and experience, (McCain has the years but no expertise) Ron Paul has both, then I'd be glad to review your opinions and balance them next to Dr. Paul's strategy, in order to change my mind.

In otherwords, my love and devotion to you is because of your thoughtful and energetic backing of the guy who has the real goods on running for President.

My love and devotion to Dr. Paul is not just because of his experience and expertise but because he is a good, honest, moral man- the first I've ever had the privilige of giving my all toward his success.

Thanks,
anyusmoon

You do not understand! You

You do not understand! You say Ron Paul does not have enough delegates and should run 3rd party. Lol the popular vote in states that award delegates to the winner of the state is a sham if it comes to a brokered convention. You see in a brokered convention the delegates can vote for who ever they want. Now do you understand why there was and still is such a push to become a delegate. Just because a delegate is awarded to a candidate doesn't mean that delegate suports that candidate in a brokered convention. Lol Half of McCains delegates might be Ron Paul suporters that became delegates and if it comes to a brokered convention who do think they will vote for? Lol, just watching CNN and they are saying how McCain was the winner of Super Tuesday and is the Republican Candidate for President lol you know they see what is hapening and are very worried about a brokered convention lol.

think again

Ron Paul is very smart about this. PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY, Ron Paul WILL stay in the race for the GOP all the way to the convention.

Why will he do this?
1. By Staying in the GOP race he gets Face time in the Debates. And even if he only gets 6 min, That is much more time than he would get as an Indy. Independents NEVER get to be in the debates. If even 1000 people really hear him in that small time and say wow I like this guy. Its FREE publicity in a Mainstream American respected show.

2. What benefit is there to drop out now to go third party? I see absolutely NONE, please enlighten me as to why your wanting him to do it now. Calling for it is actually detrimental and a distraction. And the sudden force of your statements are an attack that I would expect from a sneaky supporter of the Romney campaign or the Mainstream media.

3. What if we do go to a brokered convention (which is more and more likely) and we can get him elected through delegates. Seems a waste of time to throw all the hard work of everyone down the tubes just to make you feel better.

4. The Longer this Drags on the more people are being woke up to the need for someone like Ron Paul, not just for president but for all levels of government.

5. If and I do mean "if" we are not successful at electing Ron for Pres. at the republican GOP what would stop him from going Indy at that time? When the Grassroots has grown even deeper and wider than anyone could have at first believed. Would it not be better to milk the GOP for EVERYTHING they are worth before going Indy?

Too Late for ballot Access then!!

Q: "if" we are not successful at electing Ron for Pres. at the republican GOP what would stop him from going Indy at that time? "

A: Ballot access. The GOP convention is in September which is TOO LATE to circulate petitions to secure ballot access in most states as an Independent.

IMHO, Ron Paul should go after the Constitution Party's nomination on April 26. He doesn't have to change his party registration until June or July, so could keep rolling as a Repubican with an insurance policy.

Do you have some kind of

inside information regarding how many RP supporters have been selected as delegates to their state's convention?

Did you

run to be a delegate? If you become a delegate in your state convention, Ron Paul will be one more closer to 1191 required to win.

Not to promote the enemy

But realistically speaking Huckaboob's fund-raising has been keeping pace with our campaign and with the showing today he will get cash and even the old media said as much. He does owe though so we have that on our side.

Huckabee's campaign has been keeping pace with contributions?

HUH? Huckabee had a one day money bomb. The amount he raised? Under $100,000?!!

There is not even a remote similarity in the volume of donations received by the Paul and Huckabee campaigns.

Huckabee isn't even close to Paul in support.

We'll find out if

those supporters are hardcore like us or vote for him, because they did not like Mitt or Mccaine to win.

I was wondering why everybody was discouraged

I thought this was the exact outcome Dr. Paul was expecting to go to broker convention. Its all about who becomes delegates right?

you are right

This is exactly the outcome Paul predicted. Which is why I'm not at all disappointed. Paul has been right about everything so far. I can't really find a reason to think he will be wrong about any other part of this. Even if I was discouraged, hell, I'd stick around supporting Paul just to see what happens!! I have to admit, I never thought it would go this far. The more time he gets on the national stage the better in my opinion.

let's wait.....

and see what the good Dr. makes out of all of this. He knows the game better than we do, and I'll support whatever he decides to do.

This is exactly what I have

This is exactly what I have been thinking all evening.

If you really think that we can win a brokered convention

YOU HAVE NOT WOKE UP And HAVE JOINED THE HERD AGAIN! It aint happening. 3rd party ALREADY! That will screw em good! And we will ahve a chance. Perot did it with $60million. We can raise that in 8months. Plus, we have the largest grassroots ever!

Hey Wacko.......

You wouldn't have 8 months to raise it. You need huge chunks of the 60 million on hand to do what Perot did.

And if Billary gets

the Dem Nomination, I think it would be the perfect storm. Then the repubs would have to vote for Paul.

Yes...

Romney took--say last I looked it was 200 and Huckabee 169 total-too McCain 499 (last I looked).

So...with this split in delegates ---continuing...no one on here will answer the question on HOW...ANY one of the 3 will garner 1,191 to win GOP nomination.

No one will answer this--they just keep posting....'3rd party' and 'drop' and other such things....without ANY reasoning...just emotion.

WILL SOMEONE PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION?

BUMP and DONATE

BUMP and DONATE

McCain will get more contributions now. I don't think we want

any of them to drop out because one of the remaining will gain more delegates. Better for all 4 to stay in it and split the delegates among them so no one gets the 1191.

Go President Paul!

Yeah they might be too dumb/drunk to figure it out but let's hope none of those clowns are up late reading dp...yikes!
