I've never been so embarrassed to be associated with so-called Ron Paul supporters - UPDATE

I can't believe all the crying and whining I see on this forum. I frankly have never been so embarrassed to be associated with a group that would give up so easily. Unreal. I say if you wanna quit now, then go! Don't let the door hit you on the way out. As far as I'm concerned you were never with "us" to begin with. You probably just joined 'cause you saw a neat and exciting little movement happening and you wanted to be a part of it. Then at the first road bump, you wanna cower off. Pathetic. Did you think that these elites that have taken over and set down roots for the last 100 years were just gonna roll over and say "Oh, I'm sorry. Were we being thoughtless and unkind? Allow us to make it up to you. Please come join us for some tea." Get fricken real, will you people! This is war, and this one, unlike the one in Iraq, will truly never end. The price of liberty is eternal vigilance. If you're not prepared for fighting the rest of your life to keep your freedoms, then go back, grab some butter, and bend over for the man. He'll welcome your sort back with open arms, I'm sure. Me? I'm in this for the long haul. They can tie a rope around me, gag me, beat me, and nail me to a cross - I'll never give in to these bastards. You chickenshits are awfully lucky that your ancestors weren’t as cowardly as you all. Yeah, that’s right. I’m talking about our nation’s true patriots – people like Paul Revere (The British are coming), Nathan Hale (I regret that I have but one life to give), Thomas Jefferson (the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants), Patrick Henry (Give me liberty or give me death), or Samuel Adams (It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds). Good thing for you all that none of these real men ever sank to saying “Oh golly, I think we underestimated these Redcoats. They don’t play fair. We have no chance against them. No point in going on. I guess that tea tax isn’t THAT bad.”

So go. Be off with you all. Slink away back to your miserable little lives slaving away for the man. But while you’re leaving, stop for one last moment and think about what you’re gonna say to your kid some day in the future when he asks why you didn’t fight just a little bit harder so that he could’ve had the freedoms that you once enjoyed. You can almost see the disappointment in the little guy’s face, can’t you?

Update ... Response to several posters below ...

Cricket ... There is not one special thing that I tell people to turn a light on in their eyes. For some people it’s telling them how Ron’s plan to heal this country is to simply return to following the Constitution, and how he’s done just that as a lone voice in Congress for 20 years. For others, a quick explanation as to why Dr. Paul has been censored by the press is enough to get them to see the light. Still others are already supporters of Paul’s message, but are discouraged by his lackluster showing in the polls. A quick explanation of how he is winning enough of the Delegates to sneak in and steal the nomination, is usually enough to re-motivate these people.

nathalja ... I am in no way pretending that everything is fine and dandy or that we are winning. On the contrary, my message was an outright admission that we are behind and that the other day was not so good, but more importantly, the long term goal is very achievable if we only would wake up and realize we have the recipe for victory by continuing to bring the message directly to the people. My message was that we need to keep getting back up on that damn horse time and time and time again because our enemy is not going to lay down and die very easily, and to quit now is an admission that you never really cared too much about liberty to begin with because those that truly want liberty realize it’s worth fighting for every freakin day of your life.

BeaReady ... Yes, I was the one that spoke to the high school class of 180 graduating undecided senior voters ---> http://www.dailypaul.com/.... By the way, I have an update on this particular event that I’ll be posting here soon. It is really going viral!

martfuncher ... I agree, all the founders didn’t follow in lockstep to ultimate victory. As you say, many remained loyal to the British until things started turning more rosy for the Patriots. However it was the ones that DIDN’T cave in to the Brits to whom we owe our liberty. These are the patriots to which I refer. If it weren’t for these men, we would still be bowing to the King. Should I be extending an olive branch to those that are walking out now? Perhaps. But I chose instead to shame them into not walking out in the first place. Time will tell if my brashness was the right course to choose, but I felt that being tactful, which has it’s time and place, was not the way to go in this case. We urgently need these people to remain on our flanks NOW. Worrying about hurt feelings must take a back seat. There may never be a “later”.

mdopazo, Brian James, islandflyer, Davy C Rockett ... One of the main points of my message was that labeling people as ignorant and throwing up your hands is an excuse to quit, and a damn poor one at that. I’m not saying that any of you fall into this category, but please guard against it if you do. Every one on this forum was ignorant at one point in their life before someone helped them to see the light. Everyone. Someone was there for you to open your eyes. Who was it? Do you remember?? Thankfully that someone never threw his hands in the air complaining “the sheeple are hopeless!” Why not be that “someone” for someone else out there?

Independent4Hope, xntryk1, IamVoting4RonPaul, pearl, rv36116, hoopsking ... I have no doubt that there are a number of “pretenders” on this forum trying to bring down the morale of true Paulites with their negative posts. But you need to take the blinders off if you don't see that there are definitely “real” Paulites who are bailing. There's proof of it to me everyday talking to discouraged supporters in my own workplace, and addtional proof to anyone by simply examining the number of votes he’s getting in some places like Georgia where he was polling 12% two days before the vote and ended up getting only 3% there. Those are real Paul supporters leaving. It is those people that I was addressing.

DaddyWarBucks ... Very nice post. Thank you. You are exactly right – many Paul supporters toss a few bucks toward the revolution, then sit back smuggly saying “Well, you can’t blame me. I did my part.” Don’t get me wrong now - I am not criticizing this effort. I certainly appreciate any small part that someone plays in this movement. What I am doing, though, is waking you people up that fall into this category, to the fact that if you are really committed to bringing liberty back in your lifetime or even in your kid’s lifetime, you better start realizing that it’s gonna take a whole lot more effort than sending off a $25 check to Ron Paul Central.

To all with positive comments ... To all the posters with comments that praised my message here, I thank you all immensely. Please understand that my message, although negative in context, was intended to be positive in spirit. It was an attempt to get people who were thinking of leaving to re-examine what this movement is all about and to re-enlist for the long haul. Carpe Diem – Seize the day.

And to keep our honor clean,
We are proud to claim the title

Stop passing blame

I'm sure we could have all done more.
Start focusing on what you can do with the talents you have.

Not everyone is a delegate, not everyone is a canvasser. Not everyone is a caller, etc...
Do what you can and don't worry about non productive post like this.
Keep your eye on the mark.
I thank everyone who has stepped up to the plate even if it was only a few hours or a few bucks, we couldn't have done it without you. You are just as important as the 24/7 workers for this campaign. Those who post and complain about what they think your not doing, shrug them off.
Your efforts have educated many to the screwed up system we have.

Keep up the good work all, every little bit helps.

I agree with you ...

... Stop passing blame. That is exactly why I singled out your earlier post where you stated "I'm disappointed that more Americans don't seem to be smarter or lover's of liberty." Then later on you said "... something is going to have to happen for people to wake from their slumber IMO." Now, I do give you credit for also saying that this doesn't mean you're giving up, but it seems to me that you want to blame the ignorance of others for our lack of success, and then you want to wait for a depression to wake people up. I'm simply saying that WE are the ones that will wake these people up, but only if we go directly to them and speak to them face to face.

As I said, my post is an attempt to motivate people to stay on board, and in this sense, I don't feel it is negative at all. I am not criticizing anyone for their efforts. I, too, appreciate every little thing someone does. I'm simply attempting to educate these same people that a whole lot more will be needed if we ever intend to win this battle.

In spite of all that, though, I truly appreciate your efforts and your comments.

I take my marching orders from the Constitution!

I agree... in colorado on

I agree... in colorado on caucus night.. I was selected county delegate, 1st alternate congressional delegate, and state delegate. FOR RON PAUL.. If you do not understand how the caucus system works you need to learn.. IN THE REMAINING STATES YET TO CAUCUS.. YOU MUST CANVASS YOUR OWN PRECINCT.. GO TO CAUCUS, VOLUNTEER TO RUN AS A DELEGATE.. HAVE THOSE WHO YOU CANVASSED WHO SUPPORT RON PAUL VOTE FOR YOU.. BECOME A DELEGATE. this popular vote thing is bunk.. Romney won the Straw poll.. but Ron Paul won just as many delegates or more than Romney.. IT STARTS IN YOUR OWN BACK YARD FOLKS.. Its not enough to donate and hand out slimjims and wave signs! YOU MUST VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME TO BE A DELEGATE! there is no front runner.. we will have a brokered convention at that point ALL delegates are up for grabs! Ron Paul has a great chance to still get the republican nomination! DON'T GO QUIETLY INTO THAT STILL NIGHT! NOW IS THE TIME TO FIGHT!

Never give up! I am with

Never give up! I am with Ron Paul till the end.

As Stated Elsewhere

The whiners are agent provocateurs trying to take the remaining wind out of the sails. The wind may be waning but the trade routes are full of oceans currents; and we never hit and never will hit the doldrums as will all of the other candidates.

"Power never concedes without a fight."

Again, all the whiners, quitters are of the other camp. No one with any sense is going to quit because we have everything to lose and knew going in that it would be unfair and difficult.

Many of the Founding Fathers

Many of the Founding Fathers were dead set against ANY break from British Rule at first and put forth passionate objections to a revolution or new government.

Using your logic Patrick Henry and Ben Franklin(and many more) were "agent provocateur's" and "enemies".

Or perhaps your intolerance for disagreement is causing reactionary paranoia.

Discuss amongst yourselves please....

You've said exactly what I'm thinking

Thank you!

Rock on!!

I made it in the "Top 7" list.

MDKidd, like I said before I don't really disagree with your basic idea. And I enjoyed your post. I just think you are using a REALLY WIDE BRUSH that is getting paint on more innocent than guilty people.

>;)

Thanks Martfuncher ...

... I appreciate your comments. You may be right about the wide brush thing, but the reason for using it is to motivate those you are thinking of jumping ship, to stay and bail for a while instead.

I still contend, however, that the patriots that never wavered, of which there were quite a few, were the real heroes of liberty for our country. Unfortunately, I am not a learned enough student of history to tell you just which ones they are. I would be very curious to discover which ones they were.

I take my marching orders from the Constitution!

Never Give Up

I'm in this Fight until the Day I Die!

I am more than willing to give my life for the Freedom of Humanity, for it is the most important thing any man can ever fight for!

Give me Freedom or Give me Death!

Here, here!

DAMN the torpedos! FULL speed ahead!

There really is no other choice. You now know the truth, there's no where else to go except forward with our message and our fight!

It'ssilly to give up on something that matters!

Even if say it doesn't go to term the fight and the point of this lives on. If you quit you betray the message of freedom. So what if it's not Ron Paul it's you! I know he has planned this out far beyondwhat you and I can concieve. he's a very smart man. If you give up on that you give up on your own freedom, simple.

Relax a moment...

Watch this:

http://youtube.com/watch?...

You feel better, right?

Take a deeeeep breath -----

NOW GET YOUR ASS BACK TO RON PAUL & THE REVOLUTION!

If you are wavering...

If you are wavering in your supporting for Ron Paul please remember that he is only the conduit. We are the message. Until the media and establishment status quo tilt back to center and favor the middle class things are not going to get better. In fact they will only get worse with each passing day like chain smoking your freedoms away. You can not leave the revolution until we get our country back. To do otherwise would be complacent silence and a return to the sheep like existence of your current self. According to many quotes floating around you know what that insinuates.

There is a long hard road ahead and it will not stop even if Ron Paul doesn't make it. For the sake of our children and the world the fight must continue. We know the enemy to freedom will never relent and neither should we. I believe we did relent and that is how we've come to these turbulent times once again.

I think about sums up most of what I want to say to the naysayers...

Timothy Leary once said (and RevCo put it to music) "You love to be a victim. You love that United States prime time victim show...you have the power...we're not gonna be angry victims anymore"

A Positive note:

Last night I sent some very needed advice / criticism to the campaign website. Having done this before, and not always receiving a reply, I sent it to half of the choices on the comments form.

About an hour ago one of the techies working for the campaign (it was not tech related advice) emailed me that he really liked my idea and he said that he would forward it to the campaign strategists.

Will they take my advice? I do not know, but I do know that I was right all the other times when I was fervently adamant about what they should be doing (like non-stop pushing for Maine and Nevada and not Florida). We may not have actually won, but those were our best states.

Sorry, but I am not posting this to public sites because only Ron Paul himself can do this, and also, it is a stealth maneuver that the enemy campaigns cannot forsee coming.
And honestly, no one other than Paul was in Maine, until my article was cited by another site, and then all of a sudden Mitt Romney had his army out in full-force in Maine during the caucuses. So, I learned my lesson - publicising ideas can be a double-edged sword.

The point is that we, the grassroots, are not totally in control - we can do the best we can, and that is great. However, if you do have an idea that you truly believe is pertinent to winning, then you should find a way to let the campaign know. Running ideas through forums like this are great of course, since public feedback is important. If the idea is a way that Paul supporters can have more of an effect, then let us know; if it is stealth and only Paul himself can do it, then don't let the world know.

I may be a vegetarian, but I'll defend to the death my right to eat pork!

Great Subterfuge

..and it sure doesn't need all the details on here. Sublimely excellent post. I can only hope your ideas were as good. :)

excellent advice! I hope

excellent advice! I hope some of you idea people listen! Lots of them here.

people need to get some courage

I knew

going into this that we couldn't win in the "normal" way. The normal media ignores us, the normal voter process is against us, and the normal establishment is doing everything to keep us down.

I am in it for the long haul. A brokered convention is the "abnormal" process and it is looking like it just might happen, and then we have our chance.

Thank you Dr. Paul for all you have been doing. I appreciate it.

The "Whining about the

The "Whining about the Whiners" is more whiny than the accused!

This is politics, dammit! Pull yourselves together and start on the task of rebuilding and growing our coalition. And quit demanding that all people conform to your image of the "positive mental attitude perfect patriot". This isn't American Idol.

Now is the time to open up dialogue with our "less-positive" brethren and listen to their concerns. Maybe they are correct! Or, maybe we need to just give them information that dispels their fears. The solution is NOT to brand them as "negative" and throw up suspicions of disloyalty and being a stealth enemy.

~rolls eyes~

Why you whining about the whiners' whining? :D

It was a good post man!

Why don't you check some of my previous posts (which are sprinkled sparingly over the past 6 months because I'm usually out beating the pavement) to see how I've already been building our coalition the old fashion way, and encouraging others on this site to do the same. I think I've earned one good rant for all I've done for the cause ---> http://www.dailypaul.com/..., don't you?

I take my marching orders from the Constitution!

I'm guilty!

I have ZERO problems with your "right" to post this forum topic. I enjoyed reading it. Although I think it was whiny and negative and that the spirit and loyalty of the Founding Fathers and the American Revolutionaries wasn't anything near the rosy heroic picture you paint.

=)

Not discouraged. Only

Not discouraged. Only recommitted to a long battle. I admire your passion and spirit. I for one will not quite this fight until I am dead.

"If we love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!" Samuel Adams.

I'm with you, the battle cry is ONWARD !!

There are some of us here that have a few years behind us which translates into a lot of experience in life. We have dealt with loss, hardships, heartaches and several disappointments and still we survive to greet each day with joy and a continued commitment to that which rings true. I know several of you mentioned that the "old people" had little to offer this campaign I also know that we are from a generation that did not know what instant gratification meant and we also know that commitment means forever. Most people are where they are because that is where they stopped.

There is a story about the seed that fell into some soil and it sprang up beautifully, but then it withered and died because the soil was shallow and there was no way for the roots to grow strong .

Pick up your tattered flag, patch it, take a day or two to re- group and get back on your horse. Damn it, we have more battles to fight. CHARGE!!

I'm disappointed

that more Americans don't seem to be smarter or lover's of liberty.
However this doesn't mean I'm giving up.
I spoke for 20 yrs to people about the ideas Paul believes in before Paul was cool.
I'm in this for life, cause I will experience the Liberty my forefathers had so help me God. I love a good fight. It just may take another twenty yrs or so.
Maybe a second great depression will come and wake people up.
I hope not, but something is going to have to happen for people to wake from their slumber IMO.

Well, that's the problem. We don't know how REAL....

Americans are REALLY voting!

a/ I had confirmation today from crystal broyles @ Ron Paul newspaper saying they are going to restart donations including PayPal.-this means that foreign donations can go to buying newspapers for those who have maxed out cash.

I have not given up on Ron Paul or the Revolution, however...

...I do believe that constructive criticism is not only healthy, but it is necessary as well. Pretending that all is fine and dandy, that we are "winning" is insane. WE may not personally be losing, because we SEE the truth, but it is obvious that our country is losing - because of the inherent corruption of "the system."

To ignore this fact is truly ignorant, and in fact anyone who sees the results so far as a "Victory" is actually falling into the hands of the enemy. They want us to go dig a hole a live in a fantasy world.

We have to take on the Machine, and the only way to do that is to take it apart, analyze it and figure out its weaknesses so that we can destroy it.

The truth WILL set us free. Unfortunately, we just might die before that ship sets sail :(
That does NOT mean that we stop building the ship!

I may be a vegetarian, but I'll defend to the death my right to eat pork!

Agreed...

Thank you! =)

Agreed - I will never give up on Paul, but these supporters....

Look! I'm pissed! I can't have this nonsense streaming on the side of the screen anymore! it's all nonsense! We ALL know that the voting machines changed it for us and Obummer (obama).

As if RP didn't win AK, MT, MN, etc. As if he had 4% nationwide as a whole! As if! As if there are constant 15 - 20% swings from where Obama was polling in states like CA and others!?

And these people crying about it makes me sick. The answer is that we do what we always have done: work around the system! I have said this since Iowa; every voter for Paul fill out legal documents (affidavit) that they voted for Paul, file them through the RP states' organization, and magically we can end the nonsense!

The WORST part?! Daily Paul'ers cry and complain that we bring up vote fraud instead of actually facing the dragon head on, putting on our armor and slaying the bastard! We have been given an opportunity (this is a blessing) because the fraud is so obvious!

We have the organization. Let's reach every RP voter and have them fill out an affidavit! This is how you fix this! Who is with me? I don't need the cry babies shouting down vote fraud. I want the warriors who sacrifice it all.

message me on here... we need to organize. And once this thread is through, I'm not visiting DP until the losers quit the movement and stop with these nonsense posts!
