We need a symbol.
All revolutions have had a symbol of some kind to signal to like minded people that they are a friend. There have been flags of course. There have been armbands. Rings, pendents, etc... What I am talking about goes a step further than Ron Paul. He re lit the revolutionary fire and it is up to us to keep it burning as long as it takes. I come to you not in anger but from strength. Watching our numbers come in on super Tuesday did not discourage me, it told me that we are ready. That over 500,000 people despite the odds went out and made a statement that we know the truth. And the truth is spreading. So we need a symbol that takes it to the next step. Lets here some ideas and maybe see some pics. I'm sure some of you guys can draw so lets see it.
One idea is maybe a flag with our Revolution on it.
But I think we can be more creative so lets here it.
Maybe we can keep this going for awhile and after the election try to come to an agreement on one. Well really we could use as many as we like but let time sort it out.

Old school vs. the young Turks
I can't decide between a flag with a serpent that has the catchphrase "Don't tread on me!" or The Red Pill.
A dead fox badge
Further to previous suggestions,- a symbolic image of a dead fox would do nicely. The cocks (Roosters and chickens) fought back against the sly behaviour of government and their propaganda agents who were penned in (or penned out if you're a neocon newspaper) and escaped the tyranny and prowling antics of the symbolic fox. Probably.
I'll get my coat-'Nurse, nurse...'?

NOW YOUR TALKING
HEAR HEAR
symbol
the symbol should be a red and white stripe pattern with 50 white stars on a blue background in one corner, but turned upside down.
We need cymbals...
.. for the march.
=D
A new party idea I have had for awhile.
It would simply be called the common sense party but having a dual meaning.
1. To the people who don't really pay attention to politics, it would speak for itself. But it also has a another meaning that is not so simple....
2. Published in 1776, Common Sense challenged the authority of the British government and the royal monarchy. The plain language that Paine used spoke to the common people of America and was the first work to openly ask for independence from Great Britain.
http://www.ushistory.org/...
Many of you may have read this before and if you haven't, you should. It is a great work by Thomas Paine that anyone with a revolutionary spirit should study. Of course I realize it would take a long time to gain any kind of traction but who knows. I figure the way the unthinking majority flocks to simplicity like a moth to a light it could actually work. Maybe if we unite under a simple title, they may start to listen.
We need more than a symbol!
We need to unite all 3rd Party organization into one, big party with teeth, called the RonPaulParty. We have the candidate, and we'll get the money, and we'll do what the Democrats and Republicans have been scared of all along..........a strong 3rd party. Other than that, the GOP is set to seal this nomination soon. And Ron Paul won't be invited to the party.
How about a single white star?
With my background in marketing I considered this a challenge that maybe I could help with... We'd want our symbol to be something that every supporter could have instant access to, so ideally something that people can make on their own (like the colored ribbons) With that in mind I recommend a SINGLE WHITE STAR! Ron Paul currently represents the "Lone Star State", also our Forefathers used the star to represent each of the colonies, then each state on the flag. Christians can reference the wise men following the star to find their Savior. The star is a beacon of light in the darkness. When Sailors are lost they use the stars to find their way. It is a symbol of Liberty, as each of us can be considered a part of a star on our flag. Stars have been long been used to symbolize honor & accomplishment. (Military) and a positive message of a job well done. I think a Single White Star would be a symbol that every Ron Paul supporter, (and I believe that Dr. Paul Himself) would be PROUD to wear. I welcome your comments! GO RON PAUL!!
White Star
Didn't the White Star symbol have something to do with Titanic?

FORTRESS AMERICA
Hows about a symbol of a fortress: "Ron Paul - FORTRESS AMERICA" - would help promote the fact that Dr. Paul is not weak on national security, but rather is for a strong national defense AND border security and simply wants our troops working at home.
IMHO, this would tie-in well with McInsane's amnesty and Huckadoodle's Mexican consulate in Little rock sanctuary state record, and accentuate the imperialistic nature of the neocons.
The Civil Flag is NOT a hoax
In response to the earlier response and the posting that suggests the Civil Flag is a hoax because the person could not find a reference to it that predates the year 2000.
I encourage you to check this link:
http://www.jordanmaxwell....
Scroll down about halfway through and you will see the proof that the Civil Flag is real. I'm not a big city lawyer but I'm pretty sure "The Scarlet Letter" was written prior to 2000.

SheepDOGS, not wolves
FYI, and contrary to the good Judge Napolitano's excellent recent book, we all need to be SHEEPDOGS, not wolves. The wolves are THEM: CFR, MSM, Bilderbergers, Police State, CIA, FBI, ABCNNBCBSFAUX, globalists, Rotschilds, banksters, alphabet soup, etc.
I don't know about you, but I know who my Shepherd is. He gives the flock directions, but the flock still needs sheepdogs to guide them, lead back the strays, and sniff the perimeter for wolves (& inside the flock for proverbial wolvesin sheeps clothes). Us sheepdogs are the ones barking loudly to warn the sheep, and we do have teeth to fight them off when needed.
A nation of sheep needs plenty of SHEEPDOGS.
You're quoting a conspiracy site
That's one of those sites that thinks that CAPITAL LETTERS HAVE MAGIC POWERS and that if I refer to "REALISTUSMC" it's not actually the same person as "RealistUSMC."
Kooky.
There is something to all
There is something to all that, though.
Note the historic shift from "these united States" (with "united" used merely as a descriptor and "these" stressing the importance of those individual -- and capitalized -- States) to "the United States" (with "United" as part of a nationalized title). To be fair, various combinations of the above were used from very early on, but it remains interesting, in my opinion.
Also: "Constitution for the United States," as used in the Constitution itself, makes it quite clear that this charter is being handed down from above by the sovereign states. This usage has effectively disappeared, in favor of the more nationalistic "Constitution of the United States."
Perhaps I'm kooky, but I believe that such subtleties in phraseology are not always morphological accidents.

Liberty for Dummies
I'll agree with you, phoobaar
It's an interesting bit of historical trivia to note the difference between talking about "united States" (as in each one is an individual sovereign) and the "United States" (as in one nation with one primary sovereign). But it's a far leap from that to claim that "UNITED STATES" is a corporation and "United States" is a country (or whichever way they claim it goes), when the real reason is that ALL names are put in ALL CAPS in the "caption" (first page) of court cases so that it's easy to spot the names.
You have a point -- this BS about "UNITED STATES" versus "United States" versus "United States of America" is just that -- BS.
Agreed. Maybe we should get out our state flags.
No need to make new symbols or pick up old tarnished ones when we have good, legitimate ones that don't get much face recognition.

Ther are a few I like
The civil flag. R3V. The tree of life. There are a few others but I was thinking something more original. Maybe combine some of these ideas. Actually I was just thinking out this long comment here when I looked over to see Ron Paul's new book and on the cover a symbol
http://www.amazon.com/Rev...
Click the book to see the larger image of coarse. Do any of you know the history of it? It sure would look good on a flag with maybe some of our other ideas mixed in.
Food for thought on Symbolism
As my nick name implies, I'm a member of a fraternal order established in 1867, The Patrons of Husbandry, informally known as "The Grange". We have allot of symbolism, and this indeed employes, secret hand shakes, passwords and symbols, lots of symbols.
The Grange was the first organization to include women. To do this, we have a living alter for the goddesses, Ceres; wheat, Flora; flowers, and Pomona; fruit. We have much more symbolism in our rituals, which includes stars, owls, and various farm tools, each degree has symbols and all symbols have a living representative.
Many people here have offered symbols that mean something to fraternal organizations...Masons, Illuminati, Lions, Elk, Moose, Eagles, Rotery, Odd Fellows, Sons of Liberty, Redman Society, Red Cross.
I would think, if there was going to be a symbol, a living symbol, and we were a fraternity, Ron Paul would be representing that symbol, and since his name is what unites us, Ron Paul, his name for all purposes, a symbol as himself. His replacement would be representing Ron Paul.
What we need to seriously consider, with all due respects in that the presidential race is not over, and the goal is for Ron Paul to be our president, who will we elect to replace the living symbol "Ron Paul? Ralph Nader has the same problem, but he's had it much longer...he should be passing his symbol on and giving it life (but then allot of people would like to see it die..so there you go).
If by some misfortune RP did not get in the White House he so much deserves, I would hope he would endorse the supporters he met on the campaign trail who are inspired to become "Ron Paul".
And finally, if there was to be such a symbol, it should come from Ron Paul (my guess he would say the American Flag).
R3V as in R3Volution would be a great symbol
Like the fish was used by early Christianity.

CAD recommends Civil Flag
I have researched the civil flag, and it bleeds Life, Liberty and Freedom. It sends a huge message, beyond yet inclusive of Dr. Paul's philosophy.
for those that haven't heard of the flag, catch up here: www.barefootsworld.net/us...
My sole recommendation is that it be updated, to include all 50 stars.
It's an unfamiliar symbol, as the nation has been at war longer than many have been alive. It inspires curiosity, and questions lead to potential voters.
Let's brand Dr. Paul as the Peace-time President
The civil flag seems to be a hoax
I was informed earlier after suggesting that we do a Civil Flag banner bomb the night before the April 15th strike (http://libertytax08.com) that the Civil Flag has no traceable history before about 2000.
http://mysite.verizon.net...
I have since decided that i will be banner-bombing with upside down US Flags
Title 36, U.S.C., Chapter 10

Trivia about the stripes...
Familiar with the flag of the Dutch East India Trading Company? Go look at it. You'll be flabergasted. Wanna know where the red and white stripes originally come from? Remember, William the Conqueror (who conquered England in 1066) was the great-great grandson of Rollo the Viking, who conquered Normandy before him. Now look at any illustration out there of a viking ship - and behold the red and white stripes.
I never knew about the Civil Flag. Thanks for linking to that - very interesting. I like the peace part, (even if it does have red and white stripes :p )
Neat
Thanks for that bit'o trivia!

The Liberty Tree

This is an awesome symbol and we need to have a network of real or virtual Liberty Trees to go with it. But the tree on the Civil Flag, or the combination of the two would be AWESOME and would represent us and our message.

Reinventing the wheel makes little sense // changing horses in mid-stream not a good idea either -- both are old sayings with some smarts behind them. Forget this frivolous idea (we need a symbol) and concentrate on matters that will either truly MAKE or BREAK this election for RON PAUL.
Help spread his message by action, by $$ donation. Waste your time on this matter (a symbol) and we might as well start saluting JOHN MCCAIN or doing the dirty laundry for HILLARY CLINTON (that sounded a bit sexist didn't it, sorry about that) -- but you must surely understand my point here. Don't waste time on something like this when there is absolutely more important matters to be concerned about -- LIKE FOR INSTANCE:

You guys wasting your time in this thread (and here I am doing basically the same thing trying to get your attention here, I know, I know) equates to turning on the TV and digesting more of what MSM has to offer. WAKE THE F - UP and let's concentrate on truly more important matters here.

I agree... the Civil Flag is great!
The Civil Flag and the Sons of Liberty Flag are just about the same thing. Go to this page and see the Flag Patch... it is the SOL flag. The site is already set up for us to buy these flags. It would be easy and looks like the site was waiting for the Revolution to stumble upon it.

I'd like to replace the flag I fly with one of these. I've been flying my flag upside down for some time now... have gotten many people that ask why. I let them know that it is a symbol of the Constitution being in Distress. Good conversation starter.

For those proposing the civil flag, for which there is no evidence whatsoever that it ever even existed, all I can say is no. It is a a silly idea, which will only make us look like loons.
Now there does happen to be an actual historical flag, that very well suits our message. The Sons of Liberty flag.

Masons use symbols
Cults have symbols.
Illuminati utilize symbolism.
Put that idea to bed. NOW.
This is a miseducated
This is a miseducated answer.
Symbols have been used by HUMANS for a VERY long time to convey ideas that are not necessarily able to put into words. The symbol encapsulates an idea that can be identified by viewing the symbol.
Don't be so close minded and believe all those conspiracy theorists using fear tactics and latent Christianity to trick you into thinking that there are Illuminati symbols everywhere!
In fact, the "Illuminati" or whatever you would call them, subverted symbol systems used by those such as the Masons for there own ends.
Until you have a better understanding of the occult, don't make such remarks please.
WE ARE THE RON PAUL MEDIA!!!
Well said
Also it is noteworthy that the Illuminati wasn't always a dark sinister force. The original Illuminati (Or enlightened ones) were begun by Galileo Galilei as a group of scientists intent on breaking the churches stranglehold on the minds of men. To allow the world to be round and so forth.
The Freemasons likewise were formed for the purest of reasons, "To harbor and gestate all that is good within Man". My Great Grandfather was a Freemason. My Great Uncle was a Rosicrucian. I have a ton of books that both left behind when they died, and comparing them to the conspiracy theories I've read over the years...I just can't fathom how people can make so much of these (At least these two) groups.
It may very well be that dark and sinister men infiltrated their ranks (As our own government has become perverted from the defense of Liberty as they were intended to be), but from my own reading into these groups I believe they were formed with the best of intentions.
Symbolism is what we are. It is the substance of Dreams. It is how the mind talks to itself, and how we carry on Truth in the form of Myth.
Pick your religion, all are deeply embedded with symbolism. The Communion wafer and wine of Christianity is symbolic of the body and blood of Jesus Christ. Prayer itself is symbolic by its very nature. It must be if God is Omniscient and Omnipresent. If God is all knowing and all pervading then prayer must be symbolic, for God already knows your desires.
Symbolism is inescapable, and that which is inescapable cannot be Evil, for Evil can only exist where choice exists.
We already have a symbol
It's the Statue of Liberty.
The Statue of Liberty has been the symbol libertarians have used for a long time now. We don't need anything else.
No white doves. it symbolizes the holy spirit in christianity.
The white dove would send a bad message to christians, and they would perceive it as anti-christ like
great idea
let's do it.
That's awesome.
