Whoa! We ARE actually going to WIN when they vote for Ron Paul at the RNC in September!
We still have plenty of time to gain even MORE momentum. It is a brokered convention...can you say "BROKERED CONVENTION" and thus NOBODY has won the nomination. The front-runner McCain nor any of the others can gain enough delegates to win the nomination at this point. It is IMPOSSIBLE for any of them to win enough delegates to claim the nomination. This thing is going ALL THE WAY to the Republican National Convention in September!!! Something like over half of the 600 delegates that McCain did pick up on Super Tuesday are "Ron Paul supporters."
McCain did NOT pull 51% of the vote on Super Tuesday and he will NOT get 51% of the vote at the RNC in September. They then go into the 2nd round of votes at the RNC and THAT 2nd TIME AROUND all of those Ron Paul delegates are no longer legally bound to follow the popular vote and thus those delegates get freed up to vote however they please. With over half of McCain's 600 delegates being "Ron Paul" supporters, and with them no longer being "legally bound" to vote for McCain come/during the "2nd round"... guess whom they are going to vote for? You guessed it right! RON PAUL!!! Can you say "RON PAUL"!
And all these people in here were thinking WHAT??????
That it's OVER!!! HOW BLIND CAN YOU BE!!! It "IS" nearly OVER...for McCain and the OTHERS!!! But certainly NOT for Ron Paul! We have never looked BETTER than what we do here and now today! We are now completely posed and in a position to win this! YEAH! YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT! WE ARE GOING TO WIN PEOPLE! This is absolutely AWESOME!

Sorry
But the other candidates will pool whatever resources to help each other keep Dr Paul from being nominated...No way will the GOP allow Dr Paul to be nominated..That's just a sad reality !
we've
we've read other places the '5' states 'rule' is not accurate.
Please seek out accurate info. before commenting here or anywhere.
Um Link
The previous poster just provided the link
http://www.gop.com/About/...
"Each candidate for nomination for President of the United States and Vice President of the United States shall demonstrate the support of a majority of the delegates from "
We may have 5 states really soon, now that Romney has dropped out
We were second place to Romney in Montana and Nevada.
According to much speculation we were second place to Romney in Wyoming as well (apperently romney JUST barely beat us in each county conventiog)
The MOST important rule
RULE NO. 32
Suspension of Rules
A motion to suspend the rules shall always be in order, but only when made by authority of a majority of the delegates from any state and seconded by a majority of the delegates from each of five (5) or more other states severally.
At ANY time during the convention (I assume of course this is AFTER the first legally bound vote though it could be before, stragegically we should wait for after, UNLESS it appears McCain might win on the first vote, then drastic rule changes would be neccesary).
ALL the Ron Paul supporters, if Paul is not on the nomination list. We CAN and should at that point have the numbers to call for a suspension of the rules. Tada, we win!
We need a confidence vote
We need a confidence vote money bomb.
Here's the link on RNC Rule 40
Note: That the majority of delegates has to be proven BEFORE the name is submitted as a nominee. You should at least beware of this rule before the convention.

Become a Delegate
If your state is still electing delegates, become one. In Massachusetts you have until February 13 to register Republican (if you are independent, I'm not sure voting in the Republican primary automatically makes you Republican anymore). Then watch for the local caucus dates and get all your friends to support you.
How do you know 600
How do you know 600 delegates are ron pauls supporters?
Is this info coming from somewhere? Please elaborate.
sorry half of 600.
sorry half of 600.
How can everyone be so sure
How can everyone be so sure we are going to a brokered convention? A lot can happen between now and Sept.... and the GOP doesn't want a brokered convention. They want a clear and strong frontrunner to bring the party together. Deals will be made prior to Sept. and this brokered convention will likely never happen. I hope it does, but lets not count on it!
Please stop counting on a brokered convention. There is too much time between now and Sept.
Because it is not possible
Because it is not possible for anyone to receive 1191 delegates now from the remaining states even if Mccain sweeps every state he can not get enough delegates to secure the nomination

Stop being a WET BLANKET
How can you be sure that we are not?
I am so sick of all the WET BLANKETS on this site ....keep HOPE alive.
wishful thinking
This is wishful thinking that leads to great disappointment. Better get your feet on the ground and some realistic expectations. We are in this for the long haul, not the quick win.
BUMP

You're forgetting the RNC Rule 40 - must win 5 states...
If you think the RNC won't hold RP to this rule....
"The question is not who will let me- the question is who will stop me" - Ayn Rand
are you sure?
I would like to see the rules...
Can you post this link?
Bottom line....even if the rules are true.....the more Dr. Paul stays out there the more we educate Americans to the truth and the more we have a chance of winning states.
You're not reading it right
It says must have the majority of delegates.. ;)
We're getting those, it's not about the beauty contest straw polls in caucus states, it's all about the delegates.
Become a delegate!
Thank you Devon
for giving out the ACCURATE information.
This is what aggravates me and others more than anything is all the DISINFORMATION that is spread .....
We have all got to be on the same page and stay united.
RP have now more than 49 delegates
And this number is going to grow, soon!
Texas is not going to let RP down, we have to canvass more in there
I hope all the candidates stick it out
All four GOP candidates need to be at the convention. Reality will catch up the voters by November. Helicopter Ben still has the points on the board to drops rates toward zero, but the results will still be the same. Dollar down, Gold up.

We are going to WIN.....!!! Bump all day
This is going to SHAKE UP the entire ESTABLISHMENTS of the 2 party system, the mainstream media, the corporations....
DO YOU FEEL THE TREMORS???
The earth is rockin and rollin.....the BIG ONE IS ON THE WAY....
go President Paul.....the 44th president of the U.S......
done the ole fashioned way....playing by the rules.
I'm sick of.....
....hearing about the West Virginia delegates.
Why?
Are you sick of hearing how RP delegates can make deals when they see the oportunity to gain some delegates for RP?
Give me a break and do something like all the others!
Megabump!
Can we just keep this at the top? This is very cool!!
I keep saying this
Those who say we can't win are Huckapee, mcinsane and rambo supporters trying to sabotage our efforts!
Can anybody keep such post in the top!?
PS
BTW...I'm still having a blast throwing a wrench in their gears with my man Ron Paul. Remember a few months ago when they were calling RP a gadfly? LOL...They aint seen nothin' yet!
Believe this!
The naysayers out there and amongst us would have you believe this is not possible. IT IS! It is a very real probability. This thing is far from over , folks. Especially if we all get busy on the 18 remaining states!
Now that you are re-educated and know the truth, do you really have any other choice?
Just like Ron Paul said, he cannot give an endorsement to any of the other candidates until they recognize the constitution. Well, I feel the same way. We all have a duty now, to vote for truth! Weather it prevails this time or not!
I now can imagine how Ron Paul feels when he is the lone or minority voter in Congress. This time though, I am standing next to him.
Some more important info
This just posted :
http://thecaucus.blogs.ny...
In West Virginia, the campaign says, Mr. Paul won three delegates. But the chief executive of the West Virginia Republican Presidential Convention, Bob Fish, said that his state had a “winner-take-all” format and that Mike Huckabee of Arkansas “won the 18 delegates.” Mr. Fish noted that delegates were not “legally bound” to support Mr. Huckabee.
Did you get that? Mr. Fish noted that the delegates were not legally bound to support Huckabee. :)
What is your proof?
Why do you say 50% of McCain delegates are RP delegates. Do you have any thing to prove that? Third party is the way the revolution should go even if RP is not going to be elected. There are other ways to win. Locals, governors, congress and senate. The republican party have rejected RP. There is no need to continue with them.

Out of the 2,380 delegates sent to Minneapolis St. Paul in September-
- 565 delegates will be bound through one ballot. That is, they have to follow the results of the state election on the first ballot. After that, if no candidate has a majority of delegates, they are free to vote as they please.
- 383 will be bound through two ballots.
- 318 will be bound through three ballots.
Huffingtonpost
Hope you are right. I don't think the media is going to recognize Paul until he becomes President (and then for only a few moments on the "nightly news")
Of possible interest: I have, for some time, sent in comments to Huffingtonpost.com. For the last few weeks any comment that would include the name Ron Paul or mentioned Lieberman (as McCain's pal) have not been posted. Just now one of the bloggers Ellis Weiner, in a column concerning Bill Kristol referred to him throughout as a "conservative". I wrote a comment that Kristol was a "Neo-conservative" -- no response. What is happening now is that the media is conflating all Republicans into a self-agreeing party, and conservatives being equated with "neo-conservatives" -- who benefits by this sophistry? McCain is now presented as a true Republican and as a true Conservative... where does that leave Paul? For shills such as Weiner, Paul is now identified with such as the war-hungry McCain and the other two stooges. Clever and intentional semantical twisting and definitional changing -- who benefits by such tricks? There is enough confusion without Weiner putting his bit of crap into play.
Send them the washington post article on neo-conservatives
this was just recently posted on DailyPaul...it was a very thourough article on the history of the neoconservative movement and even had a picture graph of all the players throughout the decades.
The graph included many pictures of neocons ...including William Krisol.
Send the link to Huffingtonpost and see if they disagree with the washington post.
Pennsylvania's delegates are "un-pledged" delegates...
We are working very hard in Pennsylvania right now. Pennsylvania will give Congressman Paul a very nice "gift" from all (19) Congressional Districts!
B...U...M....P
everyone needs to see this. Please don't give up
legally bound?
i'm not sure all the delegates are "legally bound" to do anything. i think it depends on the state. none of the maine delegates will be bound to anyone in any round of voting (as far as i know). it would be nice to have someone with convention experience or maybe a party/election historian give us the real answers here.
After considering the numbers
this person is right. Something else to consider as well. As far as I know some of the delegates are already uncommitted delegates and "unbound". Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm almost positive it depends on how each states' party rules.
This is getting more and more exciting. The great thing about how this is playing out is that people in all these states after Super Tuesday are finally going to get their voices heard. How wonderful is that?!!!! I think the OM is having a fit because Americans will definitely get to see a process that can work to the people's benefit. To show that even a "broken government" has rules that can work for the people.
I think we'll all learning more about elections than we ever knew.
GET INSPIRED. GET BACK OUT ON THE WAR FRONT AND LETS GET RON NOMINATED
Question:
Does the candidate with the fewest votes in the first round get eliminated? If so, we'd need more first-round delegates than Huckabee. I'm afraid I am ignorant of what the elimination procedure is.
other candidates also have
other candidates also have delegates (Hunter, Giuliani, Thompson) and would have lower totals.
no, not at the National Convention. Remember Lincoln
only had like 44? going in
Rules have changed
Lincoln only had 1 state, we need more 5 states under current rules.
yes, plus InSane makes a few more comments
and will destroy himself. We've got all Summer to convert others
I also would like a source ....
But would love to see this happen. Another problem with this scenerio is that McCain does in fact currently own over 50% of the delegate commitments, so if the trend continues then there will not be a brokered convention.
No, he needs 1191 delegates
to have 51%. he currently has around 600 or just short of 600.
he only got over 50% popular vote in a few states...thats
where delegates may be bound on the first voting rounds...the other states where the msm says he's got so many del, he doesn't. Don't trust the msm to tell us how many del are actually going to each candidate. it's a farce.
Where do you get this information?
Something like over half of the 600 delegates that McCain did pick up on Super Tuesday are "Ron Paul supporters."
I'd like to believe it is possible, but why do people keep saying we have so many more delegates? If this is true, and people on this board know about it, then that means every other campaign knows too. What lengths will they go to counteract it?

rights of another, and this is all from which the laws ought to restrain him." --Thomas Jefferson
This has been the strategy
The only way that the other candidates can prevent this is with a huge well-established grassroots movement on the ground that is willing to go all the way for thier candidate. That leaves, well, none of the other candidates really. Just us.. ;)
