Okay, Romney is most likely out....is this good or bad for RP? What happens to the Delegates? Can we still reach a brokered convention? Did we just win big or take a terrible hit? Help

GOOD

We NEED to keep funding Ron Paul, now more than ever. Imagine future debates, it will be just three people! They cannot keep RP's message silent when it is just three people on stage, their attempt to block his message would become WAYYYY to obvious, and even people not in the know would revolt in disgust.

I think Paul could destroy BOTH McCain and Huckabee, and I bet he picks up a lot of votes from the Romney camp.

This is very good news.

This is for the prevention of a brokered campaign -

-romney is not going to support paul . his parting speech was was basically cheerleading for mccain - also his laughs at debates while Paul was speaking goes to show that even though there is bad blood with the other 2 candidates he doesnt want to give any chance to Paul at a brokered convention -

PERFECTLY CORRECT!!!!

FOLKS, THEY DO NOT WANT A BROKERED CONVENTION ;)

Delegates in Fairbanks-Ak

Ron Paul 9 delegates
Romney 3 delegates
Huck's 1 delegate

Romney got the popular vote and the delegates have to be devided proportionaly to the number of votes the candidates got. I Rmny drops out, Ron Paul people will be free to vote for Ron Paul in the state convention.
The number or delegates above is for the distict 8 in Alaska. Most district will decide the delegates on saturday.

Bad

Romney is being sold by the MSM war machine as having dropped out.

His speech even sounded like a dropout.

If people believe he has dropped out he will not get more delegates, and McStain will get them.

My bet? No brokered convention. The warmongers could not take the chance.

Right now Mitt is frozen in time...

he hasn't dropped out yet. He has only suspended...put on hold...his campaign from actively participating. He keeps his current delegates so they won't vote for RP in the National Convention, which actually helps McCain.

I never once thought Mitt ever WANTED to be the president and I believe he KNEW he wasn't going to be. He was much too congratulatory to McCain's first win to have been seriously running for the office.

This is the GOP playing god in the back room to control the outcome of the elections, making sure that NOTHING really changes in this country accept for their control of everything. Democrats are no better.

I think at this point, everyone has seen what the Republican Party really is.

Everyone should email the National GOP to let them know that we are switching our affiliation from Republican to Libertarian. They need to know how many they are losing.

Who cares....

He quit....that's good enough for me.

No more debates

There will be no more debates. McCain will not agree to participate in another debate. That part's over for us.

But there are other forums including the convention itself!

A

I'm voting good

Mitt knows that the vast majority of the Republican base cannot support Insane McCain and so he has not elected to give up his delegates. I think he is out but "suspending" just for that reason. Come convention it will be interesting to see what happens in the first round and who he supports. Huck will likely fall next so who will that leave? Our guy is in a position to be the anti-McCain for the Republicans. The LP has sent a death wreath to the Repubs because of McCain which is hilarious to me but it SHOULD be very serious to the party. Indeed they are in a pickle. They can hand the seat to Hillary or start supporting the ONLY candidate that has a chance of beating her. Their choice.

Supporting Hillary

The GOP would rather Hillary over Ron Paul. The GOP has endorsed democrats against Ron Paul in his congressional races. Romney will never support Ron Paul, Huckabee will never support Ron Paul, no person that wants a future in the corrupt GOP will support Ron Paul. It is time for a third party run. And with the third party run we can add congressional races to the revolution.

What would happen to his

What would happen to his delegates if he takes a VP slot?

good or bad

lets focus on the positive:

future debates can no longer be the Mitt and McCain show.
if they exclude RP, the Huckster might pull a little for us, considering how he was marginalized in the last one.
the majority of his voters will likely either still vote for him or move to Huckster or us, but not McCain

the negative:
some of his delegates might get shifted to McCain?
it may be harder to get a brokered convention without him

It leaves

McCain, who talk radio and conservatives hate.

You have Huckabee who talk radio and conservatives hate.

The there is the good doctor who is the only truwe conservative left. I think it has to help.

Anyone by chance listen to Moike Church this morning? Nothing but good stuff about Ron Paul. He had a Reagan advisor on who said RR would have never supported the Iraq war.

GOOD

McCain is a crazy huge government doofus. Ron Paul is much easier to sell on a head-to-head basis against McCain.

What is he keeping delegates for

if not to give them away later? It's folly to celebrate. This is just strategy.

CNBC has Headline "Romney Drops Out Of GOP Race

Good question of Which is it? Suspended or Drops Out?

It's about the money...

Suspending the campaign isn't the same as ending it. If he suspends, he can keep the money for future consideration.

Best it could be!!!

Apparently, he is only *suspending* his campaign and keeping his delegates. That means they don't build McCain's number, and continue the road to a brokered convention. Yet, we get WAY MORE media. It's easier to ignore under-the-radar candidates when there are very many people to report on, but with just THREE it would be too obvious to pretend the race is just two-man between McCain and Huckabee.

The difference is that the neo-con politicians have to keep the campaign machine on to build their image in public minds whereas Ron Paul only needs that spark of curiosity "who is that?" - just a fair shake on promoting his positions - before people demand to hear more about him!

All the media I've seen

says either McCain is the winner or it's a two man race! The invisible man strikes again! Go Ron Paul!

Oh really?

How much news reporting have you seen on Mike Gravel lately?

I mean SERIOUS candidates.

I mean SERIOUS candidates. It takes money nowadays, and Ron Paul has it thanks to strong grassroots. Guiliani dropped after asking his staff to work for free. Hillary just loaned her campaign 5 million. Apparently, Romney doesn't want to dig deeper into his pockets. Ron Paul, however doesn't have this problem. WE SUPPORTERS are the reason his campaign is strong. Big difference!!!

Bottom line

I think it'll help. Romney hates McCain and Huck both, right? Plus, he's still holding his delegates.

Bottom line is, it does not matter who wins the GOP. IF it's anyone other than RP, it's a sure Dem win in November.

To speculor--

Limbaugh, Dobson, Coulter, etc. will never support Ron Paul because he is not for "their" war.

But

What about McCain and amnesty?

Live on CNN now!

Very good news to us!!!! I read many Mormons are libertarian leaning and in Super Tuesday Paul was second where Romney was first. Even if Romney endorse McCain his supporters may vote for Paul. Also, Paul should now be seen as the only conservative. People like Coulter, Limbaugh, Dr. Dobson etc. etc. will now take a new look at Dr. Paul! They will never vote for McCain (also Huckabee is seen like McCain).
The MSM cannot ignore us so much, although they will still try. We could win the northern conservative vote and fare even better in texas etc.

New momentum for us!

good point

many radio hosts will have to look at RP in a new way now because they despise McCain and Huckster. This could be interesting. I would love to have Glenn Beck go from calling us terrorists to endorsnig us.

"Freedom is popular"
-Ron Paul

"First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win."
-- Mahatma Gandhi

yes!

Mormons Romney supporters that I know all like Ron Paul and I am sure will vote for him

RP08 to restore the Constitution

I think he is saving money

and betting on a brokered convention.

We have it in our power to begin the world over again.-Thomas Paine

Better chances now?

Do you think this increases our chances to win washington state now and get some momentum?

Last chance= RP2008

Yes

"Victory for liberty! That is our goal, and nothing less. -- Ron Paul, December 17, 2007"

Good, here's why: He's not

Good, here's why: He's not completely dropping out. He's keeping his delegates. This means that there will be a better chance for a brokered convention and he'll be less competitive for the rest of the race.

Reports say he is only suspending his campaign, not dropping out

apparently there is a difference.

why...

why waste time speculating...it's just rumored..NOT confirmed....

wait for confirmation...before wasting our time on it.

Wasting time??? What are

Wasting time??? What are you talking about? I have legit questions, and I would like some answers. If Romney suspends his bid for the presidency, does that screw us all, or help us?

A rumor on front page off CNN and Drudge....I will wager this will be fact!

I would still like some answers if somebody has a complete understanding of all this?

from my understanding

on the Republican side, when a candidate suspends his candidacy, he keeps the district delegates, but the State GOP's control the state delegates. I'm not sure if this is absolutely correct or not. Perhaps someone with more knowledge than myself can clarify this on how the State GOP deals with the delegate issues

The accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands, whether of one, a few, or many, and whether hereditary, self-appointed, or elective, may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny. James Madison

It's true

Romney's scheduling a news conference.

'suspending'

expects to announce 'suspending' not dropping. Wait for announcement--if it comes.

gulp if he's out then it's insane Mcain

They are on to us! They know there is no chance for them at a brokered convention.
