This is the perfect time!! The media says Ron Paul doesn't exist......Congressman, announce a major new conference, and let everyone think you are quitting. They'll all cover it!! Then let 'em have it! Tell everyone that you're here - voters and delegates!! Go, Ron Paul, Go!! Hold a major news conference now!

He gave a scathing review of the GOP
today, and didn't hold back any punches..........how the campaign staff postitions this.........who knows. Two things are for sure. One, Ron Paul has done his part. Two, the GOP is going to bury him, if there is no plan of counter attack.

i agree, if his campaign managers have any clue how to market this message, they will find a way to get MSNBC or CNN to give Dr Paul some air time. if not, then this campaign needs to focus on getting him back in to Congress and we need to realign the revolution behind the candidates running for congress and the senate.

He needs to have a press conference saying that he and McCain are now competing. He can directly say that Huckabee appears to be trying to be VP...I would do so with humor and not malice.

It's good in theory until you realize that they won't care.
If Ron dropped out right now (tonight, tomorrow, etc) it would be a secondary headline with little coverage.
If he held the fake drop out you mention they might show up with cameras but it would never make it on a show.
Sorry, you'll have to do better than that.

There SHOULD be a press conference; there doesn't need to be any "misdirection" or "head fake," but there should at least be an attempt to get in front of events.
It would be an excellent chance to do two things: warn about the phony "stimulus" package from the admin and congress; and,
give his supporters a reason to keep plugging away.

They would flock there and put it on LIVE just like the other candidates' drop-out speeches. In fact, why not leak to the press that it appears he's dropping out...lie to the suckers, who cares. If they believe it is a concession speech, they will stick him on LIVE.....ooh, what a hoot that would be.

Does anyone think that RP should have a press conference tonight to reintroduce himself to the american public? I am sure if he said he was having a press conference the major studio would definitely want to cover him thinking he would drop out (since they would love to try to kill the movement). Then he could state that he will never drop out thanks to his fervent supporters and reintroduce his ideas to the country. Use history and explain a little about delegates and how Abe had no early support either. Am I being naive? Would the media just continue to ignore Paul and his press conference?
On a side note...if things continue the path they are going should Ron Paul Supporters have a national march on Washington or at the convention to raise awareness for the message? In some of the debates I really wish I could have been there and practiced civil disobedience by standing up in the crowd and at the top of my lungs yell: "Give Ron Paul Some Equal Time" over and over till they dragged my butt to jail. Someone needs to say it to the country.
