Before we get too upset here, I have seen absolutely NOTHING to confirm this. It would be very sad if Luskin was flooded with angry emails for something that may not even be true. Anyone can change information on Wikipedia so until we hear it directly from the Ron Paul Campaign, we should probably just assume it is not true. If you think about it, Luskin would be destroying all his credibility by making such a bizarre move so it is probably a rumor that is set in motion to upset people.
Let's wait until we hear from RPHQ.... I know it is a frustrating time but then a ray of light today...Romney drops out!
We're doing good! Let's just not jump to conclusions just yet about Luskin.
I sense something more will come of this. This election season has by far been the most bizarre than any other. I think we may witness more twists in this thriller.
McCain is trying to be conservative, so he is looking to someone that is a real conservative- Ron Paul- Luskin said that RP's economic policy is the real deal, I think that McCain realizes that he knows nothing about the economy and is looking to RP for some guidance, by taking his advisor.... Sad that this guy (McCain) doesn't have a clue about the economy! Good luck.
I had a weird feeling about Luskin when I saw him arguing with Peter Schiff a while back. He was claiming the the economy was on sound footing. Obviously Schiff was right and Luskin was wrong. We don't need his crappy advice. Good riddens. Here is the link to the video and to Luskin and Schiff discussing it afterwards. I sided with Schiff then I side with Schiff now.
And adviser is just that, an ADVISER. He teaches a candidate about economics. It doesn't mean he endorses him. McCain needs his advisement much more than Paul. Paul already understands economics. If McCain gets elected, I'll be glad someone who understands free market economics is going to be advising him.
I posted a caveat emptor, against Don Luskin, on DailyPAUL, immediately when the RP2008 issued a press release with the news of National Review's Luskin endorsing our Good Doctor. Because I questioned the wisdom of RP HQ, in accepting advice from a man whom Luskin said flat out, "he can't win," and "gadfly on the political fringe," in a quasi-hitpiece, luke warm reluctant endorsement, at best. If that sounds like someone you want to add to your Presidential campaign, where a certain level of loyalty is expected, you're naive. This is an excerpt from that crappy "endorsement," titled the Paulnomics Factor. http://article.nationalre...
"The Paulonomics Factor
Ron Paul can’t win, but he could make a real difference in the economics debate.
By Donald Luskin
Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul sounds radical when he advocates the elimination of the individual income tax, a return to a gold standard, the wholesale downsizing of the federal government, and the abolition of the Internal Revenue Service and the Federal Reserve. The media and the other presidential candidates treat him as a nut. Indeed, Paul often enough opens himself up to that treatment in the flamboyant way he expresses himself. Sometimes he even seems to relish his image as a gadfly on the political fringe...."
SO as you can see, Don Luskin was never fully on board with RP to begin with. I never quite trusted his motives. While it is plausible that he believes in his brand of free market economic theories so much so, he'd attach himself to whomever he thinks has the best chance of winning, affording him the best opportunity to change the course of American economic policy, for our own good. But it's highly unlikely. If you believe these type of personalities DO NOT have a personal agenda of their own, you're dreaming.
Never in the history of politics, has a partisan operative, who jumps ship that easily, especially considering that he's been with the campaign for less than a month, shown that he has such good, or benign intentions.
Whether it be due to some backroom scuffle with Peter Schiff, whom I've always respected and liked, and always considered to be a full on Ron Paul supporter, whom in a million yrs would never vote for anyone else, especially considering his own father, Irwin, has been fighting the IRS and the FedRes. for years in the Patriot Movement, Luskin has no such integrity.
Thank you and good riddance. And please, yes DO let a big, thick-ass oak door hit your opportunistic face on the way out, Lusk!
It's good that he left now, and not later. Hopefully, not too much campaign secrets or strategy were revealed to Luskin. But after all, that's the only reason why he probably joined RP2008 as an economic adviser, in the first place. To keep tabs on Ron Paul campaign from the inside. Perhaps, Luskin was an agent sent in by the oligarchs. LOL
A HYPOCRITE?
Yes, because Luskin never believed in RP, in the first place. Yet he joined the campaign anyway, to ride the wave. Then when Romney pulled out, and said he's "suspending" his campaign, meaning I'll hold on to delegates, although they'll vote whomever they like in the end anyway, but only as a leveraged bargaining chip, has Luskin jumped ship. Thinking it was all but a locked candidacy for McNut.
Mutt wRongney apparently is a flip-flopper when it comes to quitting as well. He'll ride in to the brokered convention with, "I was for quitting, before I decided to not quit." If this is not the definition of an indecisive buffoon, I do not know what is.
A Spring Cleaning was long over due in the campaign. And it's a good thing that Luskin is out, whether been fired or by his own accord, good by and good riddance!
Ron Paul Revolution forges own, be it a Brokered Convention, or a third party, I for one, am with the Doctor, as I hope the rest of you all are!
For, I AM RON PAUL!!!
PRESIDENT RON PAUL: Jan 20, 2009 - Jan 20, 2017
B E L I E V E
There is a difference between ADVISING someone about economics and ENDORSING him. Luskin endorses Paul. He merely signed on to TEACH McCain about economics. McCain needs to be taught about economics more than Paul does. This is a good decision by Luskin.
How odd. All these people helping McCain today. Mitt drops out. "I will write Ron Pauls name in if I have to" Luskin suddenly is McCains new best friend. What's going on?
I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone, including John McCain, lose credibility that fast. Day one, I'm writing Ron Paul's name in. Day two, I'm supporting John McCain.
him and his family??? that is so wierd,, cuz he said yesterday that he would vote for Ron Paul even if he has to write him in.. They must have something on him ??? what could it be that he would jump ship like that... wow Im really sad for him.. add this to the wierd stuff that has happened in this campaign..
In early 2006, the radical victim feminist organizations got the IMBRA law signed by President Bush that forces men to be background checked before being allowed to say hello to foreign women online. The owners of dating sites immediately launched legal challenges.
But they were threatened one by one with audits and the owner of one dating site was told that, because his ex-wife had accused him in a divorce 10 years ago of hitting her, he would be raked over the coals and lose his little business entirely, etc, so he and the others all quit challenging the law.
A liberal judge, Clarence Cooper, had immediately put a restraining order on the IMBRA law, saying that the Right to Assemble was sancrosanct and the government could not interfere with "hello" between two human beings. But one year later he came out with a "decision" that was clearly not written by him and did not touch on anything he said in the restraining order. It simply said "Meeting someone online is like buying a gun, both should require federally mandated background checks tied into a central database". Another statement that was upheld was "There is no fundamental liberty interest in an American contacting a foreigner".
Clearly Judge Cooper (who had been previously at top possible choice for the Supreme Court) was being told by Hillary Clinton, or her handlers, that his promotion to the Supreme Court was dependent on such reversals.
Judge Cooper also made some other strange reversals in other cases last year as well.
The kind of people who run Washington DC now play hardball.
Luskin was clearly offered everything he could ever want to make that change. Luskin can retire now.
Remember the woman in Texas who had an abortion after George W Bush got her pregnant?
You probably do not know much about her because she never arrived at the press conference that was set up for her by Bush opponents in 2000.
She is now living in luxury in a mansion in Galveston.
Luskin was too effective a thorn in McCain's side. He had the power to eviscerate McCain...so McCain offered him whatever he wanted to shut up.
It will be interesting to see if Luskin at least honorably shuts up. I would hate to see him lie through his teeth in praise of McCain.
The system is very corrupt these days in the Washington DC. Sanity does not prevail.
he left ROn Pauls campaign for McCains.. this is alittle different then just advising someone else.. He was hired for RON>. now he left RON FOR MCCAIN ..big difference.. especially since he endorsed Ron..
Luskin Leaves Paul for McCain
February 7th, 2008 by Dan McCarthy
Donald Luskin informed us today that he is stepping down as an economic advisor to Ron Paul and signing on to the John McCain campaign.
That is just so off base. LR gets news up there fast and in so doing sometimes doesn't have everything sourced. Its a blog and he updates it when something comes up. I love his blog because it always has breaking news before I see it on here or any of the forums. I think the bloggers on there have excellent credibility especially where economics, history, and politics are concerned.
I disagree. He is fair, temperate and allows for differing opinions in the liberty camp. I can attest to that personally. All the hullabaloo about the newsletter nonsense was an attempt to attack Dr. Paul through Lew.
God Damn McCain... he must
God Damn McCain... he must have bought him off... or the GOP threatened them or something...
that's it... I think I've had enough. If Paul doesn't get the nomination, I will work to do everything I can to ensure the GOP loses.
I just saw him LAST NIGHT saying he was going to vote RON PAUL
if he had to write him in.

Well...
McCain is economically handicapped...
McCain is front Runner.....
McCain needs Credibility....
Luskin likes money & power...
Luskins sells his credentials to McCain for an appointment and money from the GOP...
More or less: Luskin is enemy of the American People
Luskin is an idiot.
I hope he's gone!

Maybe he was a mole this whole time. I would love it if Cavuto calls him out on his hypocrisy.
I agree!
I wondered about him when I first saw a video of him and his business symbol behind him; looking a lot like a pyramid with the all seeing eye.
How is it hypocrisy?

If it's true it makes good sense. It's a good decision.
McCain needs a lot more economic advisement than Paul. Paul already understands economics pretty well and what to do economically.
Losing Credibility
I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone, including John McCain, lose credibility that fast. Day one, I'm writing Ron Paul's name in. Day two, I'm supporting John McCain.
Makes absolutely no sense.

him and his family??? that is so wierd,, cuz he said yesterday that he would vote for Ron Paul even if he has to write him in.. Yes, this is how it happens. I can expound on this...

Advisement versus Endorsement
