Former Romney Blogger Here

I posted this below a different thread, but several people have asked about mending fences with former Romney supporters and I thought this might be useful.

First of all, I need to introduce myself. I've been a fan of Ron Paul for many years, but this election cycle I have chosen to support Mitt Romney. Some of you might not understand why, but I see them as two outsider politicians, both incredibly intelligent, but Romney with the leadership skills to make a difference--even though that difference might be limited because he advocates small steps while RP advocates huge steps.

Principally, I'm probably more in line with Paul than Romney, but I think we have strayed so far from the Founding Fathers that a principled approach won't be effective. In other words, I believe the country has terminal cancer and it inopperable and Romney's chemo will buy it time while RP's surgery would risk premature death. I've supported Romney over Paul because, 1) RP won't get elected, 2) The nation would literally collapse in a fit of rioting and chaos if we were to implement all of RP's platforms, and 3) Many of RP followers give his ideals a very bad name. I have however defended RP in many of my posts as a Romney Blogger.

I won't waste your time arguing for Romney in this forum, but suffice it to say, he's hated by the MSM as much as Paul and an enemy of my enemy should be my friend. I also felt a little embarrassed for Romney when he attacked RP in the recent debate about reading Amedinajad's press-releases. Please don't judge him for trying to score some points with the conservative base--no one is perfect.

With Romney suspending his candidacy today, my natural transition is to Ron Paul. In joining with you, I would hope you might consider the following approach when you continue the fight for RP.

1) Don't bash Romney. He has a group of very loyal and sincere supporters who would be much more likely to support Paul than Huckabee or McCain. They are very conservative and refuse to vote for McHuck this November.

2) Don't brag about pulling a back-room deal with Huckabee for 3 measley delegates in West Virginia. It's below what I would expect from either a Romney, or a Paul candidacy. I would rather give you all of Romney's 270 delegates than to see that kind of a stunt. Romney didn't play by Washington's rules, and that's why he got beat. Paul or his followers shouldn't abandon their principles to play these kind of games either. I can support a losing cause as long as integrity is maintained.

3) Don't expect that your support for Dr. Paul will ever be a winning cause. That's not what his candidacy is about. It's about educating a young block of voters about constitutional principles that weren't taught in school. I expect that like Rome, this nation will collapse within our current generation and the things RP is preaching will come into play at that time. Lovers of liberty will band together and the teachings of Ron Paul will be akin to scripture.

4) Consider an alternative "outreach" program to voters of other former candidates other than the "Ron Paul is Right" argument. You'll catch more flies with honey. Back off on the stringent anti-war rhetoric. Most people don't understand all that is going on behind the scenes and you need to cut them some slack on their ignorance. RP is smart enough to know the best way to pull back from Iraq so as not to make matters worse. Emphasize that he's primarily not the "anti-war" candidate, but the "pro-liberty" candidate. I know many of you are trying to do this, but the message isn't quite getting out there.

Hopefully I won't get run out of here and we can engage in some thoughful dialogue about what this country could be, and what we should be prepared for if America doesn't get back on track.

SC_Conservative... what now that Romney has

endorsed McCain?

thanks again for your support.

With your help we can make a difference.

The Federal Reserve

Is controlled by a banking oligarchy which controls the CFR of which Mitt Romney is a member. They are meant to divide us. Welcome to the enlightened family! America, We, the People. Republicans are the constitution party!

Thank you, you are awesome.

I'm supporting Paul for a 3rd party candidacy. You make some excellent salient points (I like the one about cancer/premature death).

Your temporary delusion in supporting Romney (much like mine in voting for Bush in '04) was very rational and can be forgiven.

Buckle your seat belt !

We hit a little turbulence in the campaign from time to time, as you know, and it's daily fare at Daily Paul.

As you may have seen, most of the people who post here are good, ardent supporters. They are articulate and informed.

But Daily Paul has its share of negative posters. Michael and the crew do their best to delete the really bad ones, but sometimes they languish on the site for a time. But don't let the bad apples discourage you. We are a hardy lot and have deep faith in Ron Paul, the Constitution and the importance of this campaign.

Welcome aboard new friend.

Comment on SC Conservative's views:

"I've supported Romney over Paul because... the nation would literally collapse in a fit of rioting and chaos if we were to implement all of RP's platforms."

That is simply untrue.

"I've supported Romney over Paul because... many of RP followers give his ideals a very bad name."

Dr. Paul's ideals are things like liberty, peace and sound money.

No it is correct, however,

No it is correct, however, what everyone (including RP supporters) have failed to explain properly is that Ron Paul does have some concrete plans to ease the transition.

ABOLISH THE FEDERAL RESERVE!

We may disagree with your choice of candidate, but it's the issues that are important. Support the Constitution!

I agree with that. I don't agree with part 4 though.

Welcome

to the Forum. So many posts lately have been overly negative and are not representative of the "true" participants of this forum.

We welcome all who want to learn more about Dr. Paul.

If you are Mormon,

Research some talks that Ezra Taft Benson gave in the 60's. He talked about how unconstitutional Gov. programs should be eliminated, but some of them would have to be phased out over a period of months and sometimes years. That is what RP would do. He is intelligent and knows that it took time to stray from Constitutional government. It will take time to get things back to the Constitution. The Constitution is the law. Its time we followed it again!

Welcome... bending fences time!

If you know the social network IRL or RL then please have them ask all the questions they want. I am sure they want their country back from so-called "liberals" (that are really out to enslave us all... with a smile) starting here in the GOP.

Enjoy the acronyms. IRL = In Real Life, RL = Real Life, GOP = Grand Ole Party

Some points to consider,

but mostly, welcome aboard. please, after some research here and elsewhere, come to know the good doctor and you will see how easily it will be to spread his message, voting record, and platform for America.

- he will protect your right to be a Mormon
- he will protect your right to homeschool
- he will protect your right to save your earnings with interest
- he will protect your right to bear arms
- he will protect your right to free speech and civil disobedience
- he will protect the sanctity of life
- no unjust wars, no un-constitutional wars, no capital punishment and no federally mandated abortion laws (either way). supports a constitutional ammendment to abortion only through constitutional framework.
- he will build a strong defense
- he will gain respect in the world for the U.S.
- he will limit or end lobby with monies
- he will push for a sound money
- he will end the income tax
- he will reduce the federal government and spending
- he will restore civil liberties, repealing the patriot and military commissions act
- he will help restore constitutional government and the integrity of those who swear to uphold it.

the list goes on. for me, it is much more simple when one looks at it. I trust Dr. Paul, completely. I may not agree with him on everything, but the things I do agree with him on are the governing principles that would give result to the issues. In other words, he is an inclusive man, and I trust that he would bring many opinions to the table in his efforts to restore this great Nation.

so please, do your part and become American again with all of us fellow-patriots. this is a time we need to come together as a people, not some absurdly distorted form of government and show the rest what can be done and where we can go, and the world that yes, you too, can rise up and claim Freedom!, once again.

Amen!

Hi SC

How about ROCKY ANDERSON for VP or Sec'y. of State

Not my first choice that's for sure

He loves the spotlight more than freedom. He's anti-war and that's about the only thing I know about him that compares with RP's message. He did work with Romney to help make the Olympics successful, but beyond that I don't know much about him.

Funny thing!

If I had never found out about Ron Paul and believed in everything he said, I probably would have voted for Romney. Not sure what that says about me.

Ditto!

Romney is just so presidential looking and he just sounds right in my gut despite what my head bone feels.

Mitt looks and sounds like a used car salesman

not a president.

Sorry, I am LDS (Mormon) and I think he gives us a bad name. I don't believe a word of what he says. He does not come across as sincere, but rather as cocky and arrogant. He like to talk about himself a lot, and that is something that totally turns me off.

Me, too.

And the way he laughs at others. Totally disrespectful.

Sorry

Sorry you had to lose your guy to get here, but I am glad you're here. I know it must hurt like hell. I have been busting my ass for Ron Paul since July. Sign holdings, letter writings, buying signs-slim jims-wallet cards-buttons-bumperstickers-DVD's-gas,etc, out of our own pockets (we bought a new laptop, just to show the videos to folks), distribution, walking, talking, emailing, blogging, getting laughed down, getting ridiculed, etc...It has and is a tough campaign! We evn made our way to a rally and met Mitt Romney's son and had a great converstaion with him when he visited Fort Wayne! He actually commended the RP campaign! I cannot imagine how I would feel after doing all this work, for my guy to drop out. You have my sympathy. The good news is, you are in the camp of REAL change and progress now. I don't want to dis Mitt, but I just couldn't stay with a guy that wanted to expand and perpetuate these lillegal and misled wars. My Dad was a hardcore Mitt man, until I finally got him to sit down and have a real discussion and let him watch some RP speeches. He, like me, was amazed that we hadn't seen the common sense and honesty of Ron Paul before.

I hope you stick around, I hope you'll actually get active in our campaign! I hope you'll lead some of your own folks to the message of truth and liberty! It took some guts to come here and post this. I commend you and welcome you here.

The only way we can lose is to forget that we are winning!

unity!

we need unity here! if some romney supporters do not agree with us in 100% of the issues is OK,what it is important is that they are joining the revolution!and that they understand that amnesty mccain and huckabee are not conservative and we have to support a conservative,a conservative who can win the general election bcuz no war-mongering will win in november! remember what happened during the mid-term elections?
RON PAUL the only conservative running for president

Welcome aboard

I can attest to the loyalty and sincerity of the Romney supporters. Having just participated in the precinct caucus process in a western state, I can personally attest to both their loyalty, sincerity and organization. They showed up at the precinct caucuses in huge numbers, which surprised us. I thought we were organized, but we were greatly outnumbered in every precinct.

Regarding your terminal cancer analogy, it is my opinion that the assumption of the terminal condition of this country is mistaken. As a nation, we are in need of a transfusion more than anything else. No offense, but Mitt would not have been enough of a transfusion. He may have been less toxic than Hillary, but we are in need of a radical departure from the norm of the last 95 years if we are to revive our Constitutional Republic. Individual liberty and fiscal conservatism will provide the cure for all that ails this nation.

Thanks so much for posting that

I enjoyed reading your post.

Here's some thoughtful dialogue...

The National Debt is at $9 Trillion + Unfunded liabilities and entitlements of $62 Trillion = $71 Trillion. Given 300 Million People in the U.S.A. that is $236,000.00 of debt for every man, woman and child. Adjusted for those who actually pay the taxes, and the number is over $400,000.00 per person. The funds can only come from one place...your pocket. This number grows by $6.00 per day, per person...without taking into account the effect of compounding interest. You will have to pay this in addition to all other life expenses. Political reality says that these things will be paid and the only way for that to happen is by printing the money.

In the Wiemar Republic of Germany, in January of 1919, 1 ounce of silver was 12 marks. Within 4 years by January of 1923, as they did what we are doing...printing the money, the value went to 23,277 marks per ounce and one year later in January of 1924, the price of 1 ounce of silver rose to 543,750,000,000 marks per ounce! Yes that is 543 Billion Marks per ounce! So which riots do you prefer?

Still want NeoLibs and NeoCons making the decisions? Wake up! Ron Paul is the ONLY hope we have as Obama is a CFR tool who will further debase the dollar by increasing the speed of the printing presses. Wake up! Criminals rule us, it is time to fight back! Obama, Clinton, McCain, Huckabee and yes…even Romney are all members of the club that will ruin you and sell you into slavery. We are being overtaken by fascism, driven into servitude and we must stop it here...while we still can. Do not allow the CFR/Bilderberger elites their desires. Educate yourself. Fill your mind with truth and join the revolution! Tell other's these numbers and read Creature from Jekyll Island so you can talk intelligently about the subject. Do not be afraid to speak to people.

The only way around the elite's is via the word of mouth education of the masses by those in the know. The media is owned and controlled by these interests and will NEVER tell the public what is happening.

Conspiracy Theories exist for a reason and they are ridiculed by the very ones who are perpetuating the conspiracies. Don't underestimate the power of the Bully Pulpit. It is enormous. We need someone in possession of it who will use it to educate and guide us through the coming storm. Educated as a populace, America will once again be the force to be reckoned with but we have a long painful road ahead of us. The first step is to reclaim our airwaves and the consciousness of the American people and that can only be done by an honest man.

Romney supporters so we could send out RP videos.

WELCOME....& ignore the "PLANTS", as

I have been warned there are REAL PLANTS here, meant to twist & destroy our support of Ron Paul.

Liars are fairly easy to detect. I work for the Sheriff's Office, and I know this from simple observation. The detectives always know when someone is lying during their interrogations. They just have to find ways to trip them up....into a confession. They are very good.

Here's what convinces me you are genuine.

FIRST, I wouldn't expect anything more from another supporter than their own real belief in their candidate.

SECOND, your advice sounds sincere to me.

THIRD, I really appreciate your HUGE INSIGHT into why the Mormons view HUCKABEE with contempt. I agree he did what you say he did. It is quite obvious now he is aiming for the VP spot and wants to destroy what is left of any victory in any remaining states for Dr. Paul. MCCAIN & HUCKABEE are GLEEFUL, as they know they have the MSM in the "bag".

AND, although you have made some objective observations as to the ENEMIES that would not want to see Dr. Paul in the White House, I do think one thing---

Dr. Paul will end up being a "PROTEST VOTE" by all conservatives who are fed up with McCain, and now, it sounds like the Mormons will do the same. Most observers of the politics are disgusted with their (the Media's) choices, so at minimum, we will see poor Republican turnouts.

WE ALL SHOULD BE RUNNING TO VOTE FOR DR. PAUL....because of the criminal attempts to throw an election, committed by New York, California, and especially Louisiana. This is NOT a free country anymore, not when things like this happen. The powerful elitists are obviously pulling every trick in the book to eliminate Dr. Paul. Unfortunately, 90% of Americans DO NOT know what is going on, as they still rely only on the TV and still believe in what they are fed.

I am a little at a loss to know what to do....now. I doubt Romney will ask his supporters to support Dr. Paul, as he laughed at Dr. Paul during debates, so I don't believe he liked Dr. Paul. BUT, he just might DISLIKE MCCAIN even moreso than he disrespects anything about Dr. Pau. In fact, Dr. Paul defended Romney on TV, when he was being indirectly attacked for the fact he was Mormon.

My greatest hope would be for Romney to just say to his supporters to vote for whomever they want to vote for---and to vote their "conscience", without telling them what to do. This would show he has confidence in his fellow Mormons & believers. This would really solidify his supporter's fondness of them, ya think?

If he has real respect for his fellow Mormons & supporters, he won't sell them out like the Radio Talk Show Hosts are with all their swishing around, & how they're beginning to reveal to us---to vote for the "lesser of 2 evils"---McCain v. Hillary or Obama.

Good luck! And, watch out for the "PLANTS". I just ignore them.

Welcome - we are free thinkers here

While I love RP, there are many in the movement that do not support all his positions. For example, I am a committed environmentalist and don't believe the best way to protect the environment is through resorting to litigation (as Ron suggests).

But, I do believe the four biggest issues facing this nation are:
1. Foreign Policy - no more policing the world - we can't afford it and soft power is way more effective then hard power.
2. The economy - only RPs massive spending and tax cuts can save the country from a deep recession.
3. Monetary Policy - you cannot trust govenment with the printing presses - inflation destroys the middle class - we must return to a type of gold standard.
4. Special Interests/Lobbyist/the corrupting of Washington - only Dr No can stop the corruption.

So, welcome, we look forward to your input!

--Embrace your inner Paultard--

You said,

2) The nation would literally collapse in a fit of rioting and chaos if we were to implement all of RP's platforms. ? I don't get it, you seem to be mislead. RP's Platforms? Which ones? Start the process of ending the war and bringing troops home? I don't think too many would be upset with this. Getting rid of the IRS, income tax? I still don't see the rioting. Axing the Federal Reserve, and working to bring value to our dollar? Nope, still don't see it. Getting rid of the DoED, and giving more money back to the local school boards, and districts. Nope, no rioting here. Abandoning the National ID card, and erecting a fence on our borders? No riot yet. Allowing young people to get out of social security? Still quiet here. Cut government spending, bring our military home, and make America the strongest military in the world? Again, I think you've been brainwashed by the media. Whether Ron Paul was your second choice or not, I don't feel you have a grasp on the importance of this campaign.

One last word on #2...

"2) The nation would literally collapse in a fit of rioting and chaos if we were to implement all of RP's platforms"

I'll reword this one...

2) The nation would literally collapse in a fit of rioting and chaos if we DON'T implement all of RP's platforms"

To suggest that Ron's ideas will incite riots is laughable. But I'll assure you of this... When the money runs out, and our government goes broke, THEN you will see riots and chaos like there has never been seen before!

That's what we need to worry about. Ron Paul's platform is all about stopping this from happening. It's not that hard to see when you think about it for a minute.

I think what he's referring to...

is the fact that our country depends on the military-industrial complex and the medical-indistrial complex in order to survive... in order to maintain our economy. Most of our good manufacturing jobs have gone overseas. What is left is manufacturing for our military. And other jobs that are here simply to keep our government machine going. If we just suddenly cut that spending out... without a good plan and without moving slowly toward Dr. Paul's ideals... then many, many people would be out of a job. All the people at the IRS, the people who work in depts like the D of Edu, D of Energy, etc., etc.

I know Ron Paul doesn't want to change things overnite... he couldn't do so anyway as f'd up as our Congress is... but some people hear about his drastic reforms and they think that he wants to do all of this in his first year as president. He knows better than that... but some people don't realize that.

You said it better than I could have

As I've said before, there are too many powerful people being propped up by the existing military-industrial complex to let go without some major disruption to the way of life we know. Those at the bottom of the totem pole would be used as pawns by depriving them of some sort of expected entitlement.

RP wouldn't cause the collapse--that's for sure, but the addiction this country has to her standard of living won't be broken without the aforementioned consequences.

I hope that clarifies things.

Here is a good video

Welcome

There's plenty of room in the tent. We need all the help we can get. Thanks for coming.

RP voted for the war in

RP voted for the war in Afganistan. He did not vote for the war in Iraq because they were not a threat to national security. We went in there on the pretence that they had WMD. Even Bush has now admitted they do not. This war is only escalating terrorism in the middle east. Since when do we attack a country because of what they might do? Are we going to sacrifice our sons and duaghters because of what a country might do? This war is hugely unpopular and unjust. RP is not anti-war when it comes to our security. Iraq did not attack us. And now we are there to push democracy with the barrel of a gun. Is this in our best interest? Face it, Our economy is going bellyup. We cannot afford this war. Who cares what government Iraq has when we are in a bread line? We have real problems right here.

Considering the media blackout of RP and censoring in MSM, it is amazing that RP has done as well as he has. So many people have not heard his message. This has been a uphill battle the whole way. The key is RP getting fair exposure instead of propaganda. We RP people are so intense because we do not depend on MSM for knowlege about world events. We investigate what is really going on concerning the issues. For instance, when we find out what Council on foreign relations is about it is disturbing to say the least. A globalist agenda is frightening. All the other candidates are CFR. And people are falling for it hook, line and sinker.

RP is the candidate for real change. Anything else is for more of the same.

WELCOME

I won't try to chase you away! We don't have to agree on EVERYTHING. You are here NOW and we can move forward from HERE.

I think you made a great point, in that the average American doesn't understand what is REALLY going on with the war, and that is why they are not against it. What a can of worms, eh?

What is the best way to reach Romney supporters?

thanks for any info!!!

Take note that there are

Take note that there are some anti-paul people up here, people that try to make us look bad. Kinda like agent provocateurs you might say..

Don't take Paul's position on a certain topic for granted because you read it from a poster on the daily Paul, go find out for yourself where he stands as none of us here speak for Paul.

No offense...

"3) Don't expect that your support for Dr. Paul will ever be a winning cause. That's not what his candidacy is about."

No offense man, but YOU coming here and telling US that winning is not what Ron Paul's candidacy is about...?

I think you need to take 1 step back and remember that you're coming into OUR world here. We're happy to have you, but don't start acting like an authority on Ron Paul and his movement.

You sound (from what I've read) to have a bit more understanding of what separates Mitt Romney and Ron Paul than the average shmo, and please don't take this as me being arrogant, but Mitt Romney isn't in the same league as Ron Paul. There is NO comparison between these men in regard to their principles and understanding of what is happening to America.

With that said I will welcome you to our group. But one thing you're going to learn quickly is that you don't just come join us as your backup plan. You have to earn your way into this group. Just supporting "candidate" Ron Paul is fine, but if you want to be accepted here you need to understand the truth about America. and I'm assuming that you have not had this enlightenment yet, because if you had you'd have been HERE from the beginning, and not have been over in the Romney camp.

I have no disrespect for Mitt Romney. I don't trust him, but that's my own view. I have absolute loyalty to Ron Paul with very good reason. I hope that you will come to understand how the rest of us think, because we're the real deal. We're not wackos, or kooks, or conspiracy theorists, etc, etc, etc. We're just a group of Americans who love America, and who hate what these scumbags who control our government are doing to it.

Anyway, welcome to the group. No ill will towards you for being in Mitt's camp, but just don't expect open arms and a big hug. We'll warm to you if you prove yourself as a true believer, and we'll give you time to get there. But unlike McCain, we're not real big on amnesty. :)

I'm not here to be accepted--though it would be a bonus

I'm here because I feel I can help bridge some of the gap between Romney supporters and Paul supporters. I do this for both selfish and altruistic reasons--but they are what they are.

I still believe that Romney would be an agent of change--though not a much as Ron Paul, that's for sure. I would still support Romney in 2012. Regardless of who is bearing the standard, I will always support the things that Ron Paul stands for--even if I'm supporting Mitt in 2012.

While a vote for Paul helps Romney in 2012, that's not the primary reason I'm here. I'm here because Ron Pauls message needs to become more mainstream and I believe many Romney supporters could help that cause.

Whether I'm accepted on this board really doesn't matter to me. I'm glad I can express my opinion and hopefully further the cause of liberty--regardless of whether Ron Paul wins in '08. He's a great man, but the deck is stacked against him--even more so than Romney and Romney came up short.

Take my post for what it's worth. It's not a sermon to the choir, but a strategy for increasing your (our) ranks. I hope it helps and I hope this once great nation can be preserved--whether by RP at the helm, or Mitt Romney, or any other freedom-loving individual.

Romney my second choice

Welcome. There are many Conservative Republicans here who believe in small government at home and abroad. It is false to believe all conservatives are pro-war. There are many who believe in non-intervention and a strong national defense, not a strong offense. 9/11 was a chance to get rid of the terror camps, UBL and cut off funds, NOT spread democracy and finance two more countries through force. Explaining this to republicans is like pulling teeth, but many are catching on. Ron Paul could seem less radical when explaining this, but ALAS that is his only fault. He just tells the truth.

Romney is a decent human being and most of his supporters are like-minded with my views. I hope they give Ron Paul a look. This is a very fun blog, too.

Second choice?

That you believe there is a "second choice" means that you don't get the Revolution.

You know, it's shit like

You know, it's shit like this that pisses people off and turns them away. I've been trudging through snow to get signatures for delegate (ME) and have maxed out my donations. Then punks like you have to make comments like this. I am extending an olive branch to romney fans. In case you haven't noticed, we will not be having a brokered convention and we are not leading the delegates. Your attitude has lost more votes than we'll ever know.

Hey Duff...

I understand your rebuttal, but I think you've missed reformer's point. And I have to say that I agree with him.

Now, I'm not saying this to you to stir the kettle, I'm stating this as someone who can't even consider any other candidate because I have seen the principle of Ron Paul and have made a decision to stick to my principles no matter what. With that, I could in no way, shape, or form EVER support Mitt Romney, or any of the other candidates for that matter.

Reformer's point is that any true RP supporter should also hold the same committment to principle as Ron has, and that's why he can't accept that you have a 2nd choice. I'm not trying to alienate you, but I can't accept it either.

If we ever expect to win this revolution, then we must commit to the fact that there are no second choices. Purity of purpose MUST be our mantra. The defensive voting must stop, because it's a large factor in what led us to where we are in the first place. You can be the most righteous human on the planet, and if you compromise your principles you've aided in the degradation of society.

Maybe I'm too much of a purist, but that's how I feel, and many others as well. And like I said, I'm not trying to single you out here, but if you can't understand the sentiment in reformer's comment, then maybe you really don't quite understand what all this is about. All I would say is to think about the issue of sticking to your principles, absolutely. I don't believe that there is any other way, or any other example that we can set, that will save America. Call me crazy...

This deserves some attention

I do not apologize for supporting Romney and I would do it again, but it's not because I don't believe in the cause.

About 15 years ago, I became aware that all was not right with America. I read books, I talked to people with first-hand knowlege, and I observed very carefully the world I lived in. This new knowlege gave me power and my first impression was to use that power to "convince" my friends, family, and anyone else I encountered.

Being a religious person, I found that this power was actually becoming a deteriment to my personal and spiritual character--and weakened my ability to be advance the cause of liberty. I had to make a decision. I could try to convince everyone to see things my way, or pick my battles and try to help others first open their minds, and then make the transition to the new insights I had gained. I chose the latter and I have found that by living amongst the mainstream, I am much more effective in planting seeds and nurturing a "conversion"--so to speak.

As a result, my extended family are open to seeing the world as it really is. They see the flaws in our two-party system, and if circumstances required, they would be fighting on the right side of the battle.

I can't tell anyone else how to fight this battle. Perhaps you are more effective taking the issue head-on with no excuses, and no backing down. Some will only respond to that kind of approach. Mitt Romney's supporters however will not respond to that approach.

The Revolution needs some of us "mainstreamers" to help convert other "mainstreamers" who don't know any better. It would be a lot easier if we didn't have to warn them to watch out for the "no-excuses" crowd, but I realize that comes with the territory and we just have to be more accepting all around.

Mitt Romney said in 1994 that he would be a better advocate of gay rights than Ted Kennedy. He didn't say he was more in favor of gay rights than Ted, only that as a conservative, he would be more credible among conservatives when advocating non-discrimination against gays. This same principle applies no matter who is trying to persuade hearts and minds.

OK. Did I say I would vote

OK. Did I say I would vote for anybody but Ron Paul? No. I didn't. Maybe I should rephrase. Romney is the least offensive on the list of people I will not be voting for. Don't tell me I don't understand the revolution. That is offensive to me and all the work I have done. I will vote for Paul in the Primary, write him in or vote third party in the general.

I am wasting my time here. I just lost one hour of signature time. I love Ron Paul supporters and I very much dislike some of them. This is a waste of my time. I do not need to be insulted. This blog was always good for a laugh, but I'll be out talking to Romney supporters to get them to vote for Ron Paul.

The problem with libertarians is they have poor selling skills. We need to sell Ron Paul. You can't shove your principles down people's throats, even if you believe in Paul "heart and soul." It takes baby steps. But baby steps does not include second choices in the voting booth, I know that. You can choose this blog to make the sale, but I don't see it happening with some of the snide comments.

Goodbye all.
