here's a letter I wrote for Romney supporters

Dear Supporters of Mitt Romney,

I am sure that many of you are completely shocked at your candidate's decision to withdraw from the race. As a supporter of Ron Paul, I may not have agreed with Mitt Romney on every issue, but I respected him for standing up for his beliefs, even though he was not the front runner.

However, today, I feel I have lost that respect, and am angered by it. You should be angry too. You were cheated out of the race. Now, I don't feel this was necessarily Mitt Romney's fault... he was in a very tough space, with powerful forces influencing him.

However, I think we can agree on this. There was no real reason that Mitt Romney should have dropped out. Something happened that influenced his decision, and it was not Super Tuesday. Why would the candidate in second place quit in a race only half way over, especially when there was a strong chance of a brokered convention if he remained i the race?

Here's my answer: He was threatened or bullied out of this race by John McCain and the GOP. Of course, this is all my own speculation, but hear me out. The GOP is so concerned over the state of the Republican Party... they are concerned about the upcoming election against the democrats. They are concerned that their front-runner candidate is hated by their conservative base. Governor Romney held the most support of conservative voters... and suddenly, he drops out of the race? This was obviously a scheme composed by the GOP and/or McCain to get Romney out of the way to 'unify' the party under McCain's banner. They seem to believe a brokered convention will destroy them, but they're wrong. A non-conservative, war-mongering, economic fool, amnesty-loving, tax-imposing, candidate like McCain is what will destroy them. I'm sorry to see Mitt Romney bow to these forces...

If you care about the GOP and conservative political philosophy like I do, then I invite you to join us and Ron Paul in opposition to the foolish plan being made and Senator John McCain. With your support we can send a clear message to the party that we want a conservative candidate and John McCain is absolutely not acceptable. Help us restore a fair and honest political system.

Please take the time to reevaluate Dr. Ron Paul, and I invite and welcome you to the new Revolution.

Good Letter

Mind if i use it?

Try a couple of approaches

1) Appeal to their sense of revenge. A vote for Paul is a vote against both Huckabee and McCain

2) Tell them that if they want to use that thing again in 4 years they will need to put it somewhere safe.

3) Remind them that Romney spoke a lot about the founding of this great nation in his Faith in America Speech. Ron Paul has been saying the same thing for decades.

4) Remind them that both Romney and RP were hated by the MSM and they share a lot of common ground. They both want to change Washington for the better.

5) Don't say anything about religion, flip-flopping, or question his conservative authenticity. Most Romney supporters have looked closely into these issues and they already have a strong opinion on them and those are the three easiest issues to offend them with.

Romney Supporter 7/06 - 2/08
Paul Supporter 2/08 - TBD

I don't agree with point 5...

Other than flip-flopping, it was a fact that Romney was passed by conservatives due to his religion. Dr. Paul said during many televised interviews that it was wrong for anyone to judge or vote based on an individual's religion.

I know I passed on Romney because of it...

Knowing that Dr. Paul said this in support of Romney, I was slightly upset that Romney never once spoke about the MSM bias against Dr. Paul. Yet, Dr. Paul never ask for support.

All of this and many other reasons is why Dr. Paul is a better man than me and needs to become our next president.

paste his car

with Ron Paul bumper stickers and then offer to "fix" his bookmarks and homepage on his computer for him!

offer her a sign

and some literature. Tell her why your so passionate.

I've said...

in all honesty that I believe that Mitt is the most capable of running this current system most efficiently... the problem is that this system is broken and we need to get back to what we know works.

Running the current system efficiently only gets us to the ugly end in a "controlled manner. Like driving calmly with your hands at 10 & 2 as you go over the cliff, rather than out of control and rolling over and over... before going over the same cliff.... end result is the same.

It seems if a Romney supporter is out there, they know how Mitt pretty much got it stacked against him; The WV Huckmeister and McCain deal was the beginning of the end for Mitt. I still don't see how RP's 10% amounts to much, but moving on...

Huck and McCain were part of the mutual admiration club and Mitt (the only conservative according to the MSM, yuck) was outnumbered.

RP is the only candidate with conservative values that are real. 28+ years of history prove that. Mac and Huckmeister are all over the map on their decisions.

Ask them which of Dr Paul's conservative and Constitutional views did they object to. And now that Mitt is not in the race... go Dr Paul.

I don't know of any MITT supporters who care for McCo-Co Puffs or the Hucked-up-one. Be calm gentle and reason it out.

Ron Paul is the real deal.

All you probably need to do

All you probably need to do is make sure there are Ron Paul signs on your own lawn and bumper stickers on your cars. Your neighbor, as well as other neighbors, will soon notice.

Make sure you are ready and willing to listen to their concerns and educate them about Ron Paul when the opportunity arises.

Don't do anything...

Just be friendly. Mail them some slim jims or something with no return address. It will cost you a buck.

If I Were You, Here's What I Would Do...

I would wait until dark, put on face paint and fatigues, attach branches to myself to look like a bush (not that Bush)...stay low and crawl over there very, very cautiously and as you get near the sign, STAND UP A YELL BOO!

Now that would get their attention!

Tell him to save it

It might be worth money someday. Like that "Dewey Defeats Truman" newspaper.

We welcome you to the RP Supporters!

We welcome any Romney supporter in the the Ron Paul supporter list.
We support this fine man, I heard Romney today and allot of the things
he said today sounded more like Ron Paul. Welcome to support this
great man who truly loves our country! Welcome to you!

Ignore it.Mind your own

Ignore it.Mind your own business.

Come bearing gifts...

Bring him/her a Ron Paul sign with a big bow on it, some slim jims, a t-shirt, the Ron Paul DVD, some flyers on how the military donates more to Ron Paul than all the other candidates combined & maybe a copy if his book.
Email them Ron Paul videos from YouTube too.

And some shots of Tequila

Everything is better with shots of tequila.

Tell him Ron wears magical underware too

Tell him you are sorry about his candidate

Tell him yours is Ron Paul, is there anything he would like to know about him. If he says no, just say, I always like to talk about him, so if you change your mind, please come over and make my day.

morons

are a dime a dozen on this site

if i could write the script...

you: "hey, man. sorry about Romney dropping out. bummer."

him: hesitates..."yeah, too bad."

you: "so, tell me something. what did you like about him?"

him: (says something almost coherent, but it's mostly layered nonsense)

you: "that's cool. yeah, too bad he's out. so, how many people do you know that support him?"

him: "i don't know, me, my family, a few of my friends at work..."

you: (reeeaaaaaaalllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyy................) "no shit. what are you all going to do now? i mean, you can't vote for McCain, of course. And Huckabee's completely out of touch. Nice guy, but just out of touch. besides, when he gets a little older, he's going to look just like Nixon. ever notice that?"

him: "um, no".

you: "yeah, well anyway, i hear Ron Paul is still in the race. i hear he wants to get rid of the income tax. and he wants to be able to do that by ending the war and bringing our troops home and adopting a humble foreign policy and shrink the central government to a size that's consistent with the Constitution. the media doesn't think he's a real candidate. it's too bad, too, cause he's the only one talking any truth."

him: "...oh, yeah?".

you: "yeah. you should look him up. tons of stuff online...well, have a nice day, Mr. (American). Let me know if you'd like a Ron Paul sign for your yard to replace your Romney sign."

him: "yeah, thanks. i'll let you know."

you: "cool."

I hope it's a joke

Because the first rule of persuasion is to listen. Your script just yada-yada'd over what the guy said he liked about Romney. How are you going to convince him to vote for Paul if you don't know what his pet issues are? Maybe he likes Romney's hair or his healthcare plan. And you blithely counter that Paul will get us out of Iraq, to which he stares blankly and tells you politely that he'll "let you know".

How do you know

he didn't listen first?

that was very, very funny

do not know if it was supposed to be, but it was.

ask the former romney guys

ask the former romney guys here what attracted them to romney in the first place. if the answer is his business experience/ability to fix taxes and economy then just drop off some RP literature on taxes/economy and his new economic plan. if the reason is illegals then drop off info on RP's immigration/national sovereignty ideas. INFO is the best tool b/c RP has a great message. let it speak for itself.

DO NOT TRY TO TEACH OR LECTURE ANY OF THESE PEOPLE. That is a put off and will not work.

Do nothing - he will hear the news eventually

Be a good neighbor

Be respectful

Bashing Romney won't get his vote. Be respectful of your neighbor's opinions and be really nice. See if you can find out what issues are important to him and relate those issues to Ron Paul. Try to find some common ground to agree with your neighbor on (people love to hear the phrase "You're right") and then turn it into why he should vote for Ron Paul. Works for me! Good luck.

spray paint in the middle

spray paint in the middle the night

lol

.

Ask your neighbor this:

Have you thought about supporting a candidate that will actually do something about securing our borders and enforce the immigration laws that are already on the books, return to sound money principles, drastically reduce our "empire" overseas so that we can take care of our own people here at home, stop policing the world, and return to a Constitution-based government as prescribed by our forefathers?

Also, ask him if he knows how Mitt stands on the North American Union. That should convert him. As we know, RP is openly opposed to the NAU. Mitt is a Council on Foreign Relations member (globalist). He would roll over to the NAU in a heartbeat if he became President.

sorry, i don't like personal

sorry, i don't like personal attacks but you have written one to many things that makes me want to ask...ARE YOU ON CRACK? You are an idiot!

That approach was no personal attack.

What is it I said that leads you to believe that?

sounds like exactly how not to convert him.

ron paul 2008

Please explain.

I look forward to a response.

put yourself in their shoes.

if ron paul dropped out and a mitt guy came to my house the same day with your aggressive approach, i wouldnt take to kindly to it.

if it works for you then great. it would turn me off to ron paul because of the supporter.

ron paul 2008

You're assuming

that I'd be agressive. False assumption.
It's all in the delivery and it's also commonsense.
There's nothing that I stated that would suggest that agression would be a factor or even necessary.
I've already converted several myself.

i wasnt assuming, i was reading your own words.

Have you thought.....(assumes the neighbor hasnt thought about his choice).

about supporting a candidate that will actually do something.....(tells the neighbor that his guy wouldnt do any of the following).

you lost them in your first sentence.

you go on to question their knowledge about the nau and their candidate position on the nau. your assuming they dont already know about it.

you could handle it much better by teaching the neighbor and not talking down to them. no matter how good your delivery is, if the words are offensive or aggressive you do ron a disservice and lose a new supporter or two or twenty.

ron paul 2008

You’re still assuming

because you don't factor in the tone of voice, body language, etc.

NAU...that's why I suggest asking the neighbor how his candidate stands on the NAU. Big difference there. Try it. It will probably work for you too.

Thanks for your opinion.

Be nice!

Show him that there is somebody else who knows about economics like romney, that this person is coming with a great message, that he should check this link: www.wtpcast.com

Show him some videos

I show people "shock and awe" videos first, then tell them about RP.

Makes them into real RP suporters, 1000 times easier than the other way around.

Show him the money masters video below then show him terrorstorm. both on google video.

to Ron Paul and maybe you should too.
