Ron Paul needs a professional speech writer, NOW!

You know I kinda like the fact that Ron Paul is'nt rehersed and speaks with sincerity from the heart, that is one of his strong points, at least thats what drew me to him. He did'nt seem like a puppet.

At the same time I do see how he sais things in the debates that go over the general publics head. Things that the learned can understand, but to the general public sound irrational.

That's why I think it will be a couple more generations of the Freedom Education before we get America back on track.

The Seeds of Truth we Plant today will grow to be the Tree of Freedom tommorow.

I don't feel there's any shame in outfoxing these politicians at their own game. We can just change the rules, can't we? You want speech writers? You want focus groups? Why don't we create a Ron Paul speech wiki? I can provide hosting! We can keep track of the talking points that are particularly effective at spreading the message to various voting blocs and supporters of other candidates.

We can have a response prepared and vetted for every nonsense argument made against Ron Paul's platform, so no supporter ever finds themselves grasping at straws while debating.

The original poster is right. Ron Paul's rhetoric, while patently correct, isn't resonating like it should. He needs to get fiery - these guys are everything he's fought against for 30 years, aren't they? THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO TELL THE WORLD, RON! THIS IS OUR CHANCE! Let's make the most of it - it may take 30 years to get another one!

to convey subliminal messages... sounds great and most people wouldn't know what was said or meant... The many lies we have heard over the last 8 years mostly work through speech writers.

The truth as is spoken by Ron Paul is clear, the messages are clear.

Just think of the long way his message has come through in spite of all the controversy and black banning by mainstream media... What is it that you people want?? I read constantly: Ron Paul should do this, should say that, should run 3rd party....
All I can say is.... Trust Dr Ron Paul, I am convinced he knows what he is doing. His speech, his lectures, why all the work .. his messages sell!!

Just would suggest (to avoid misinterpretation of emails from him) that he would put the speech to youtube and provide a transcription so nobody will be questioning who is writing what. I am referring to the email which was reason for so much negativity and doubt and different interpretations.

Most candidates need to memorize speeches because they are telling one lie or another. Ron Paul doesn't need to do that because he believes in telling truth. Do I wish he could throw things together like some of the other guys? yes I sure do. We are his clincher, we are his voice, we need to do the job of the sound bite. Ron Paul is not about the "sound-bite" politics that got us here. We need to trumpet your “It’s time to WAKE-UP AMERICA, the troops are trying to tell you something, and they want your help! WAKE-UP!" That is our job in this movement. This race has moved beyond Ron Paul, it has moved right into your lap. Ron said time and again it is not him but the movement towards freedom. You want Ron to win? Shout your sound bite from every corner! Let everyone you meet know how you feel. Bring this election to a real debate about the American future. You want a better speech, speak it yourself to everyone who will listen. When you have done that we can move on to congress.

He needs to be coached by Mike Gravel! Has anyone heard his debates? AWESOME. If only his and Ron's speaking abilities were swapped...

In the time allow, he should focus on how people would benefit from his ideals.

No child left behind is a failure. Teachers know how to teach without the federal government piling on the paper work and dictating how they teach.

Most complaints I have heard against Dr Paul is that if he wants the soldiers home now, then he won't defend America if we are attacked.

Reinforce, that Dr. Paul wants a stronger military to defend our country. But he also wants Congress to do their job and declare War. Then fight and win. Love his line about "It makes no sense to send troops over there and leave our back door open.

Keep it simple and honest

Doug Bandow, who used to write speeches for Reagan at one time; and I think that bit at CPAC about McCain's "friends" might have come from him.
But the problem here is that I don't think Paul will stick to a speech - he speaks from the heart, and tries to tell his listeners everything at once. It's a problem because, while it does repel some people, it's also one of his strongest assets: he doesn't sound like a politician.

pretty good speeches. He sounds authentic when many others don't. But, he does have some bad habits that affect communication. I wouldn't want anyone to actually write words for him, but a speaking coachwould be a terrific idea. Last Octoberwould have been even better.

Where Dr.Paul needs help is in the debates. He has had some strong moments but, in totality, he hasn't won over many voters. Or, importantly,made much of an impression on the old media.

He was calm and did not get tongue tied. I noticed the CPAC thing too. It does matter, I think more than we realize. I sit there at the debates just yelling out points he should make. His message and beliefs are the best for America 100%. But if he can't articulate them, it hurts.

Dr. Paul's oratory skills are a part of his appeal, in my estimation. You KNOW he's not putting a snow job on you and he is telling the truth in his own words!

Not having a speech writer and writing his speeches himself is something we love about Ron Paul. He's keeping it real.

That's something so important about our candidate, I cannot imagine him with one.

It's good to see Dr. Paul is breaking it down so the people with a less than grade 6 education can understand it in the speech in CSPAN.

But at this Late Date........

Yes, please get him a speech writer. I have seen this as his only weakness. He is a brilliant man and there is so much knowledge in his head he tends to talk very fast due to time constraints then trip over his words. Content is great, but only those who know all the background info really pick up on it.

Look what good speeches have done for Obama. Not saying he should follow the same tactic there (no substance, pure emotional manipulation), but he definitely could use help coalescing his thoughts and ideas into well constructed prose, substance maintained, but maybe just a little less so the average voter's head does not explode. :)

Make a online petition with names (I mean when there added of course), etc. and send it to the main branch, office, website whatever! I"ve heard this before and probably lots of you have too. Speech Writer and a Debate person if its still needed. Hope it wouldn't embarrass 'em!

one of Ron's greatest attributes is how from the heart he is...is honesty and true belief in what he says fills the room currently. A professional and rehearsed speech would make him "sound" like everyone else. I will add, though, that even with a prototypical sound, his ideas might still resonate. I, however, love how he sounds. He sounds like one of us...like an American...like a true Patriot who believes what he says...speaking from the heart. If people don't appreciate that, then they deserve who they get.

OK lets all FAX the campaign demanding a speech writer, otherwise they must read some of whats written here.

that he's not a polished speaker---that's what attracts me to him. Unfortunately, it seems most people need their dinners to come with a kazoo, a crazy-straw and ice-cream w/spinkles. Only because I am painfully aware of this sad fact do I wish Ron could bellow in stentorious eloquance golden streams of inspiration.
