This country needs an armed freedom march

Now before I get jumped all over, I not promoting violence in any way shape or form. I am just musing at the idea of an armed march. I think it just might be what this country needs. Think of an anti-war protest where everyone is openly carrying an AR15, still remaining peaceful. Would the rogue police start shelling tear gas then? Would they attempt to disperse the peaceful crowd with pepper spray? Would they interfere at all how they alwasy do because they are the ones well armed? I think it would be a real nice check and balance for the government establishment to see tens of thousands of well armed citizens out supporting each other and supporting their rights to petition. It may have to come to this. I believe it would make a huge statement. Would people be arrested? Would police even try to arrest people if they were outnumbered and outgunned by law abiding citizens willing to stand up for their fellow citizens rights? Perhaps this is what it will come to if freedom comes too far under siege. Just a thought.

EDIT: I'n not talking about doing this NOW or anytime soon....See the second to last sentence? Sheesh.

It could begin as the 2nd

It could begin as the 2nd Amendment Militia Brigade and would become the 2nd Amendment Army.

Have you knocked on 10,000 doors?

No? Then please don't suggest threats of violence.
A pitchfork rebellion is a good idea, though. Many lefties might join in on the fun.

I swear some of you can't read

Seriously.

“Whenever any form of

“Whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute new government...”

This will help Ron Paul.

This will help Ron Paul.

Let's Try

Ron Paul's method! Civil Disobedience first. If that yields no response after a long time, then we go with a show of force. "We can achieve much more with peace than with use of force". Intimidation by carrying weapons is force. I'm not a peacenick and I am all for carrying guns, but we need to be careful of propanda.

I also agree that if it is too soon, either with or without guns, the media will portray us as kooks with passion towards the wrong ideals. They have so much control - and look at what happened in Seattle, some thugs paid-off by the police started breaking windows and smashing things and the next thing you know hundreds of innocent nonviolent protesters are shoved into a makeshift prison. They can make it look like however they want. Now, unless this protest is huge, and I'm talking hundreds of thousands of people, it won't work.

I will do it IFFFFFFF

I can reserve the right to shoot the first person that tells me that the government is behind using lead in bullets. Lead enters your brain and fuses your neurons together short circuiting you brain. So then they can label all gun owners are crazy people and remove their right to own guns

Good Idea

as long as you are not in D.C. There is a reason they banned weapons there. Would not want any civilians having weapons near the govermental locations.

Good idea... it's within our rights

We need to remember that this would NOT be doing anything wrong. We've been conditioned to feel like naughty children for even suggesting employing our rights. When the time is right, I'm in.

I have

7 extra AR-15 M-4's for anybody needing one to carry.

This is actually a good idea

it would be like a second amendment thingy

I like defending the constitution

I'm Afraid...

...I wouldn't be able to control myself, but I have had similar ideas. Unforyunately, the medicated masses probably wouldn't see it quite the same way.

might be easier to convert

might be easier to convert (if conversion is needed) the soldiers that control the nuclear missile plants.

this reminds me of Kent State, for some reason, way back yonder....guess its the bloodshed.

No

Kent State students were unarmed. Just imagine if they had all been carrying AR15s, holy hell it would've been I tell ya.

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young - So Far (1974) - 05 - Ohio
lyrics by Neil Young

--------

Tin soldiers and Nixon coming,
We're finally on our own.
This summer I hear the drumming,
Four dead in Ohio.

Gotta get down to it
Soldiers are gunning us down
Should have been done long ago.
What if you knew her
And found her dead on the ground
How can you run when you know?

Gotta get down to it
Soldiers are gunning us down
Should have been done long ago.
What if you knew her
And found her dead on the ground
How can you run when you know?

Tin soldiers and Nixon coming,
We're finally on our own.
This summer I hear the drumming,
Four dead in Ohio.

i'll do you one better

thousands at each federal reserve, with their weapons asking, politely asking for lawful money (specifically 372 grains of silver per dollar)

I think it is an excellent idea

As long as it is not tied in any way to the Ron Paul campaign. It could be a pro-second ammendment and right to free assembly rally, therefore drawing more people and support. The country needs to be reminded somehow that the second ammendment is not designed for Mike Huckabee to go quail hunting in Iowa or so Dick Cheney can shoot his buddy, it is designed so that citizens will be able to protect themselves from tyrants.

Yes I am not trying to tie this to RPAT ALL

I'm saying down the road. When they start enacting civil disarmament legislation. I should have been more concise. I apologize.

You first, I'll film it!

Hahahahahaha! Go for it!

This is not a good idea

we need to practice civil disobedience. All it will take is one nut to fire off his weapon, a few people get hurt and our whole movement will get blamed. Come on, think responsibly!

I say we take back this country anyway we can

If the establishment will not let us take it back through peacful elections, then we really have no other choice.....we no longer live in a free country. Either get used to it or do something about it.

Count me in!!

This idea is not stupid.

It's moronic.

Why not pour gasoline all over yourself in a peaceful protest.

Before you jump all over me, mind you, I'm not talking about anyone bringing matches.

etc., etc., etc.

We would all be in jail.

We would all be in jail.

Waller, Texas Has Armed Up Against NAFTA

One guy even mounted a machine gun on the back of his pick up. I read about this yesterday, spoken of by a representative.

I left comment to take pictures and upload on youtube.

Deb

fema camps

That's where you would end up.

And it would be a great way for Bush to call a national emergency and takke away the rest of your rights

America leading by example.

I agree...

This should wait a few more years... at least until after they raid our homes to take away our guns... oops... I guess that would be too late wouldn't it.

In all seriousness, it isn't time yet. BUT, that doesn't mean we shouldn't be thinking about the possibility of an armed struggle at some point in the future.

Now is the time to be practicing your safety and shooting skills... gathering your 72-hour (at least) survival kits... ammunition... and training your other family members in you different weapons and how to safely and effectively use them.

No... I am NOT some crazed survivalist who's building an underground bunker in his back yard, but you can make damn sure that my family will be as ready as we can be.

The military puts out training manuals for everything from improvised munitions to survival techniques to guerrilla warfare tactics and strategy... most are VERY inexpensive and readily available.

Git 'em!

I don't think that would be

a very wise move at this moment. Besides, if they knew something like this with thousands armed (and they would), they would more than likely see it as an act of aggression and be prepared for it, believe me. There would be check points along all points of entry (POE) to the city of the march, recon teams searching areas of abnormal POE (such as woodlines), armed helicopter flyovers, drones, and you would be disarmed one way or another BEFORE you could even reach the city. Around the city perimeter there would probably be Humvee's with 50cal. mounted on top, Delta Force, and the whole nine yards. Not to mention about three battalions of infantry.

Other than that, GO RON PAUL!

that is

good for maybe media attention to label us violent men and the police would be coming out with swat. DC is anti guns regardless if your a criminal or not. I believe they might if they do a pre inspection before the march, checking every person for ammo and or the condition of the weapon. If its possible it would be a first I would see.

I'm not saying do this now people

I'm just saying I'd like to see it... Although I like the pitchfork Idea as well.

A couple Thousand

marching with Pitchforks would send the same message without risking people's lives. A large group of people carrying AR15's would be gauranteed a confrontation with Armed National Gaurdsmen.

I like this idea

It makes an ARMED INSURRECTION statement without the potential of turning (really) ugly and dangerous

"The essence of freedom is the proper limitation of government". ~ Founding Fathers

Probably true...

But can it REALLY be considered a "confrontation" with 1500 national guardsmen approaching 500,000 armed citizens... armed with AR-15s?

LOL...

March.... yes

Guns....... NO!

Remember May Day........... Google it.

I think that would be something I would certainly like to see!

I believe that it is still LEGAL to carry a rifle or shotgun in public as long as it is not loaded... in most places that I know of anyway.

Can you imagine the powerful statement that would be made? "To protect ourselves from threats, both foreign and domestic!"

Wow! What a sight THAT would be!

OK

lets try a freedom march WITHOUT the guns first. Shall we?

NEVER Be Unarmed...u can check gun when you fly.

I hope everyone has a concealed weapons license. It is your right to have one.

Passengers are allowed to check their guns when they fly...unloaded of course in a specific gun carrier. Hunters do it all the time. They even check their ammo.

Deb

Yes, it is my right

and I do not need licenses for rights. Licenses are for priveleges.

You don't wnat that. That

You don't wnat that. That just puts you on their lists.

The Truth

You know that sounds good in theory, but knowing the ruling class, they would just incite the violence, and then blame any retaliation of the Ron Paul supporters to demonize them.

I love the 2nd amendment but....

politicians are looking for an excuse to amend it and all they would need is a little accident and they would have it - no march w/guns -just not a good idea under the current circumstances

dirkg

Do You realize its illegal

Do You realize its illegal to have weapons in Washington DC? Carrying a weapon into the capital is provocation enough to get tear gassed. Now if You had a rally outside the city limits in the country and everyone was armed it might get the point across.
