I agree his letter seems that way in tone, but he is being honest. He plans to keep running, but he simply has to pay more attention to keeping his seat in congress. It would be a greater disaster for all of us if he lost his congressional seat than the bid for the presidency. It's really a smart move to have a back-up plan. As long has he stays in the race, he will get valuable exposure in future debates--even with the stingy amount of time they will give him. And that exposure, however brief, will win more converts to his cause.

His ongoing run, no matter how scaled down, still makes him the fly in the ointment for the neocons and the news media. His treatment by the corrupt media system will stand as a witness for others to refer to in the future--and believe me, if they did this to him, they will do it to others, and Ron Paul's name will be referred in future books as a classic textbook case of media assassination.

That's what Ron is doing and it's also sending the message that if we want to change the system, we must bring about the change within the belly of the beast. I never knew what is meant to be libertarian before I heard of Ron Paul - and although I agree with most of their values - it seems that the system is too biased against 3rd parties in so many areas. We have to educate and take back the GOP by making them realize that it's become too much of a top/down organization. The grassroots must bring about change from the bottom; the voters, the constituents.

I believe the book will bring clarity of purpose and will be a guide to where we go from here. I can't wait, I need to read that book ASAP!

Nothing has changed. Dr. Paul has always been realistic about his chances. He has always stressed that this revolution is not about him, nor about one election. This is only the beginning. We are trying to overcome an entrenched establishment; we are trying to repair decades of damage. This won’t happen in one election.

What now? Keep doing what we’ve been doing. Donate to the campaign, or grassroots efforts, canvas neighborhoods, talk to friends and family, vote or caucus for Dr. Paul, become a delegate.

As for me and my house we are sticking with Ron Paul to the very end. I will be voting in March in Texas for my favorite guy Ron Paul. In Nov. election if Ron Pauls name is not on the ballot I will be writing it in. I love Ron Paul.

He's just being honest. The chances are slim - is that so hard to hear? Is it wrong to hear? If you have a 10% chance of surviving an operation, wouldn't you RATHER know so you can better prepare?

The ENTIRE campaign Ron was saying, "it's not me, it's the message." Did the message suddenly die because he cuts back in the states where primaries and caucuses have already taken place? Not at all!

The fact is Ron Paul reignited our original revolution, and has ignited in me something I will never extinguish. And to think, I never even met the guy...

There's no beating around the bush. That "break up" letter knocked the WIND out of my sails. Come on, Dr. Paul. If you're trying to send us a coded message at least sound like a fighter. The people you need to trim down on the campaign are those paid idiots who tied the hands of grassroots and local meetup groups from effectively reaching the GOP. Bring in some full time volunteers or pay them half price.

He cut down his staff a little bit because he knows this isn't going to convention as easily if Romney stuck around. He's going to focus on Individual states so he himself can force the convention.

He can't run as an Independent because he wouldn't be able to run for his congressional seat.

It just left me with alot of questions.

As a family of 6 we have given money many times to this campaign, we have sign waved, we have written emails, we have called organizations and asked for their support, we have called other states during the primaries to get out the vote, we have asked our friends for their vote....

all of that being said....I guess I just figured out why the letter left me feeling blah...THERE WAS NO PASSION.

I have not liked how the campaign has been run. There seemed to be no strategy. There seemed to be no coordination with the grassroots. There are many popular Dr. Paul websites ( DailyPaul, RonPaulForums, Paulenteer, ect) that the campaign could have had better communication with and linked to. The entire Facebook & MySpace communities were not utilized effectively, the campaign could have HARNESSED the collective communities POWER and INFLUENCE alot better but chose not to.

And then the commercials....enough said.

I told my husband the other night that the one thing that Ron Paul missed out on was not using the theme REVOLUTION to his advantage. This was a HUGE oppurtunity MISSED.
I just wish he would have taken the 8 million that was raised over his 4th qtr goal of 12 million and bought nat'l advertising on the big networks to get his message out there. Even if it was some of the youtube commercials...it would have given an impression to the MASSES that this is not a typical campaign, this is WAY DIFFERENT, they don't do the typical commercials or anything else typical.

I believe that if Dr. Paul had used the 8 million on young, fresh, hip commercials nationwide, the grassroots would have given more IMMEDIATELY. This was the one thing that everyone wanted, nat'l commercials....and HQ dropped the ball on this, it never gave the grassroots what it asked for.

Our family loves Ron Paul. We will support him. I do have to wonder about his congressional seat...(we are from Texas and Dr. Paul has always won his seat by a wide margin, so I don't know why there is such concern this time....we will see).

The whole thing, this email that was just sent, has raised many questions in my mind. This was not handled the right way, we deserved better. It was such a wet blanket email. As the scripture says, "I would rather you be HOT or COLD, not lukewarm."

With all that said, I have peace.

I realize that the judgement of Yahweh will come quickly and speedily now. For America DESERVES the leaders it has chosen. America will get EXACTLY what it has sown over the years.
Just think about it. America has sown such corruptness in the lives of many nations, has sown war (and nuclear bombs) and killed hundreds of thousands for SELFISH GAIN and with zero compassion.
America has caused other countries to live in poverty while our citizenry have acted as gluttons enjoying the best that the world has to offer and then whining about everything, never having grateful & humble hearts for the prosperity given.

So the RECKONING has come. The judgement is secure. The country is fallen.

I hope people are prepared. I feel that there are many on this site that are.

But for most, they are not. They will awaken on the morning of the COLLAPSE of AMERICA and wonder "HOW and WHY"...?? It will be too late.

For America to be restored to its foundation.....a LEVELING must come.

We have very good chance of winning the nomination. First, he is getting rid of many of the expensive and useless official campaign staffs and rely on grassroots(much cheaper and effective). He probably made a deal with Hackabee (remember WV?)to go against Mccain and Romney. If I were Huckabee, I will go with Ron Paul over Mccain. With Ron Paul, he doesn't have to worry about raising money and chance of winning against Dem is much greater(only way). Ron Paul knows Mccain will not get or has very slim chance of getting his 51% of delegates. Don't worry guys - it won't be easy, but we can win this thing!

I hear what Dr. Paul is saying, and why do you think Mitt dropped out? Because without him in the race, the chances of the b-convention are slim.

What is my wish? My prayer? That Dr. Paul would win every last one of the PRIMARIES coming up, and get ALL OF THE VOTES! McCain would look at the numbers and see that NOBODY voted for him! :)

But I have noticed one thing - McInsane in NOT in the good health that Dr. Paul is in! You never know - Chuck Norris made a good point.

As far as him not being what you had hoped for: if it wasn't for him, hundreds of thousands of people wouldn't have been shaken from their apathy. He has done more for the movement than any of us could dream of doing. He reignited the revolution, and we're going to keep it going.

Just like he always has. He is telling us how he sees it and letting us decide what we are going to do. For me, nothing has changed, we continue this fight until someone is the Republican nominee, hopefully this will be RP. If it isn't, then I go where he goes and after he is gone, then I continue with the message.

This won't be over in my lifetime, although sometime I feel like the guy in the Matrix, the one who just wished that he could crawl back into the dream and not know the truth.

However, having said that, I have a second thought that this may not be a good election to win because even with Ron Paul in the office, I don't think we can avoid the next economic depression that I think will start around 2010. And, I think this depression will be much worse than the one in the 30's. If that's the case, it might be better to give that crap to Hitlary, and continue on with the revolution, so that when finally sh!*% hits the fan, we can accelerate the revoluation with big "I TOLD YOU SO!"

I think this economic depression should wake most people up. Before this crisis, this revoluation might be little premature.

But, it's EXTREMELY important to keep this revoluation going to save as much of what's left of liberty as possible, so that we can move forward with big "I TOLD YOU SO!" when the crisis comes.

So, guys and gals, ONWARD and UPWARD TO WIN!

The Republican nomination is out of the question, so as far as the Republican Party is concerned the only thing he can do is educating as much as possible by nominally staying in the race until the convention.

He would be the one who would have the burden of running as a third party candidate, and for one reason or another he does not have the stomach for it or does not see it as a means to push his message. We need to respect his position on that.

Hopefully he will be successful in remaining in Congress where he may even get more attention for the cause of liberty. Clearly he is a great man in a less than great country.

I've had so many of these moments in this campaign, I can sure appreciate your candor. I now know when I feel down I just hang tight and that excitement about this movement wells up again. It's tough for many who really do not get that this is more than Ron Paul but you know what? We're all awake and paying attention so I have great faith in those that think they are done for good, putting their feet back on the ground at some point when it's appropriate and joining their brothers and sisters once again in this r3volution.

does not need for Ron Paul to sit in the White House to turn itself around. He has given us a great gift, he has woken a huge percent of the population up to what's happening and why, and what America was really founded on. And, he has showed us what we need to do to get back on the proper course.

One of the most important things Americans need to do for themselves, is abolish the Federal Reserve System. This is truly the head of the beast, it is the owners of the Fed that sit at the head of the table behind the scenes, directing the government and media to further their feudal ideas which are contrary to the precipts of Liberty.

Who can do that? Not the President - only Congress can do that. Get it? The survival of the America our founders gave us doesn't hinge on the Presidency - it hinges on us.
