They learned from Don Corleone - "Keep your friends close.....and your enemies closer"!
They are realizing that Ron Paul will not go away and that the message is spreading, and they may be trying to save face and appear "fair and balanced" - even about Ron Paul.
They will be more subtle with their bias and slander, but it will be there.
They are the enemy, don't forget that.
In my opinion they could care less about Hillary being elected or not, it's about controlling the minds and opinions of the conservatives, just like Moore and some of these anti-war groups control the liberal side. I believe it has probably already been decided if we get a R or a D in the WhiteHouse. Ron Paul is the only serious wild-card contender left. He is a serious threat!!
They want to make sure the people on both sides are riled up against each other sufficiently enough to keep the phony two-party system going strong.
And for those that think it's ALL about ratings, wouldn't a Hillary presidency be good for Fox / Rush / Hannity ratings!?
Of course, I haven't listened to Rush since he started campaigning for BUSH, but during the Clinton years Rush was very entertaining!
.
If they did a nice, soft piece like this one, it is to give the appearance of fairness, without really being fair. Yes, it was a great little interview, very helpful to Ron Paul (he loooooked mahvelous, by the way), But the coverage given to other candidates is far, far more.
They need to do pieces like this, lest they are accused of bias. Now they can point to a short interview and say, "See? We gave him a good spot" and they would be right.
The debate on Sunday (?) will be another story. See where they put him in the lineup, how many questions Brit Hume directs to Congressman Paul and if there is a post-debate chat with Hannity & Colmes. Of course I am no prophet of doom; so I hope to be pleasantly surprised.

Other than Hannity, most of the others on Fox have been very nice to Ron.
They can't ignore him, what with all these stats about the military and his fundraising success, etc. They see the crowds, even if they don't cover it, for example, the thousands who gathered after the last debate. They know this has got to mean 'something' is up!

I think they decided that RP is not going to win anyway, so it doesn't hurt to treat him fair and gain viewers.
Gee! They setting self up for a surprise!
But, still it's strange. They suppose to fight us at this point (Remember Gandhi?). I hope that doesn't mean we won't win.LOL.
what's going on?
fox biz was understandable, new channel etc., but fox news?
I've read the comments below but none of the reasons given really make sense:
there's not much money yet to gain by pandering to ron paul supporters.
and fox news couldn't care less about criticism of their bias, there are loads of examples.
so, what's going on?
Makes sense to me that Fox may be really scared of Hillary and they are beginning to feel that none of their candidates have a good chance to defeat her. Ron Paul may become a good alternative. They probably think he will have a hard time to pass his reforms so perhaps that's not scaring them so much but Hillary as president!!!... I bet that may take a lot of their sleep!

"You take the blue pill and the story ends. You wake in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill and you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes. -- all I am offering is the truth, nothing more."
The interviewers are being nice now because Ron Paul has over $5 million to spend on advertising, and they are competing for his money. Note how CNBC, Fox, etc. are now stepping over themselves to interview him and treat him nicely... Remember that old media is very much a for-profit enterprise. The only way the niceness from the media will continue is if we keep donating to his campaign, so please donate now!
mmh. one reason might be the upcoming fox news debate and they want to create some kind of controversy between paul and the others for their ratings...
I am thinking they want to get through this storm with more credibility than the other najor "News" outlets.
But this is a pander job on Fox's part, nonetheless.
I would love to see Dr. Paul front and center, taking heavy shot after shot. He is unscathable when it comes to the philosophy of freedom.
The question will become; how well does he know his current events, and will he be able to pick up on the spin in real time?
He has been doing well with limited time, and it would be nice to watch him perform under a media microscope, instead of falling victim to the media masking tape.
yeah, he's been simply amazing in interviews lately.
in debates he only scores when he can get upset about the other candidates and seems a bit nervious otherwise, I guess that's because he has to be on alert for 30 minutes until he gets the next question.
Excellent responses. Love the -Rudy is on the liberal wing- insinuation. And, no doubt, he is getting respect from even Fox News. How surprising of them to note the military contributions stat.
I'm watching carefully myself Treg... Only two ways to explain it.
1) We've done a great job so far, they recognize we have numbers, and they're trying to stay in front of the storm.
2) Set it up to make yourself look like a responsible News agency, gain sympathies all the way to the debates, crack the whip, spring the trap, and hope to come out relatively unharmed and possibly gain a few viewers.
I'm pulling for the first option myself.
Remember Murdoch its about money, if we make them look like idiots they'll loose credibility, they'll loose advertising. Therefore, they'll loose the money. No matter what their inside interests are, they have to maintain an audience to make money. Hopefully, they've sold out their elitist friends, just as fast as they sold out the rest of us.

Lets Challenge Fox News to really test Ron Paul at the Debate...
Heres what I was thinking about sending to Fox..
Dear Fox,
I would like to see you do a test... If you think Ron Paul is inferior to all the other candidates then put him front and center during the debate and grill him...This is the only way you can prove that he doesnt match up to the other candidates...

Let's finish off surrender-boy once and for all. This time I want every question directed at him, to make sure EVERYBODY hears just what a _________ he is when he opens his candy-ass mouth!!!!!

Thank you, Fox News for recognizing that our candidate is now in the number two position nationwide for the Republican nomination and rising rapidly. Thank you for recognizing that Ron Paul has more donations from the Washington, Montana, Hawaii, Kansas, North Dakota, New Mexico, Alaska, and all military, ex-military and their families both in the USA and overseas, than Mr. Guiliani.
During the upcoming debate we would like you to treat our candidate fairly and give him equal speaking time with Mr. Guiliani. We have never elected a mayor to be President and Ron Paul supporters do not feel that Mr. Guiliani is qualified to be our President.

FAKE!
HAHAHA just kidding. But I wonder if they even aired this. They could have just filmed it and posted it online to make them look good to us.

It looked
When the Rick Perry question came up...
It looked like Ron was going to answer with a little laugh and say in a mocking voice, "Rick Perry."
He could have just left it that. But he was good painting them as the liberal wing of the Republican party.

Mostly great...
... but try to be less confrontational, remember we're in the big leagues now, we have to be professional.
We have to "play the game" for now.
edit: Other than that, it's a great idea! :D
