Not so sure, I liked being a sheep

I slept better, I wasn't addicted to the internet, I had fun, I smiled more, I had a sex life and I was regular...

Now...not so much.

I think the best "Red Pill"

I think the best "Red Pill" site/organization is http://www.freedomforce.c..., founded by G. Edward Griffin.

Not only does it provide an extremely comprehensive educational resource, it offers a real long-term strategy for winning the battle for liberty. If you haven't seen the video "An Idea Whose Time Has Come", please watch it. You'll be glad you did.

New to JBS

I just found JBS a few months ago and this week received my very first issue of their magazine, The New American.

I must say that I like what I found there and have been spreading their website info to my friends and family (all RP supporters).

The RP campaign has basically consumed my life for the past few months, and may well continue to do so through November. But after that I truly need to dedicate a lot more time to my own education through sites like these.

I really like their easy-to-use email function for Legislative Alerts.

I also am on the DownsizeDC email list.....Another easy site to use to contact DC on important issues.

I kind of think maybe this is an important part of this movement.....People finding their voice and using it. People connecting with others to magnify their voices.

I took the red pill 16 years ago

The day I woke up after falling asleep watching C-span. When I woke up, there was this guy there on C-span with a New England accent talking from behind a podium. He was saying everything I ever thought or felt in my entire life! What he was saying just sounded so right. I had no idea who he was, I'd never seen or heard him before. After a bit, the camera panned back enough for me to see the carving in the podium. The carving said: "The John Birch Society". The speaker, I later found out, was John F. McManus (Jack McManus), the president of the Society.

After the speech was over, I called 411 and just asked for the number to The John Birch Society. It apparently cross-referenced to The American Opinion Bookstore in the city I lived in at the time, San Jose, Ca. I naturally called them and 1 hour later I was there. I bought my first issue of The New American magazine (which they publish). It was an issue called The Resilient Earth. I didn't have a whole lot of cash that day so it was about all I could afford. Anyway, this magazine totally blew many of the chicken-little environmental issues out of the water. It also pointed out that many of the environmentalist causes were actually funded by the big tax free foundations set up by the rich industrialists that one would think would be in direct opposition to those movements. It also listed many names of people involved, and many of them had this after their names: (CFR). I thought that was odd. I'd never seen those initials before. Anyway, I thought the magazine was brilliant and decided to go back to the bookstore and find out more.

When I got back there, I asked about those CFR initials. The guy tried to explain and I got a little confused. He finally said the best way to find out more was to read a certain book he recommended. That book was actually the red pill for me. The title was: "The Shadows of Power" and was written by James Perloff. At first I couldn't believe what I was reading, so I checked the sources and sure enough, it was all true. It turned my entire world view upside down. At first I was sad and upset. Then I got freaking mad.

I have been absolutely motivated to informing and waking people up ever since. Sometimes I feel life was much simpler back in the days when I thought the liberal vs. conservative debate was really all there was to the political scene although I have never regretted "taking the pill". It turns out that the whole dems vs. repubs was seldom more than a dog and pony show (although to most it is all there is, including many of our elected officials). There are many who still see it the way I did before waking up. Far too many. That number is changing and growing exponentially, and a big part of it is this latest full court press for the freedom movement started by Ron and by we, his supporters.

I just want to say that the people here on DP and other RP supporters have given me much to be thankful for. It is my sincere hope that I am correct when I say that I number you all as friends, even though I haven't met any of you personally. People like Jane, and Bigmikedude and everyone else here for that matter. Even Saul (some people just take more time to come around). I would also like to recommend that anyone still reading down to this point, check out the John Birch Society. As an educational resource and organization it is un-surpassed in both the quality and accuracy of the materials it produces. It is also structured in such a way that were it large enough, it could reverse the entire course of this Republic away from the precipice it is about to cascade over. It is an organization where we can all continue on in this fight for freedom and liberty. You will find that their stances on the issues mirror those of Ron Paul. I'm not aware of a single issue where they differ. The book I mentioned earlier is available there as well, in their online bookstore as well as at amazon.com.

I didn't necessarily mean for this to turn into a pitch for the JBS. My intention was merely to inform all reading that there is an organization already in place whose sole purpose is to educate the masses as to what's really going on. It has been dedicated to the freedom fight for 50 years. It is also a place where we can all still be together in this freedom fight. Whether Ron Paul becomes president of the US or not, we still need to shine the light of day on all the cockroaches stealing the wealth and liberty of this great Republic and to do that, will need to change the thinking of the electorate. I'll end with this truism: No matter which tangent you take in this freedom fight (the NWO, the FED, all the nasty "isms" in all their forms, govt. spending, needless wars, police state tactics, failing schools) the solution is always education. Education of the electorate. If you really think hard about what I just said in that truism, you'll find that it is just that... always true. If the electorate is being defrauded at the ballot box, then they need to be educated about that as well, so that once they are informed about everything, we can make the votes stick. Here is the JBS website:

Check them out. G'night all, but certainly not goodbye.

Sincerely,

Paul C. Hanson

Love your post !

And glad to see someone mentioning the "dems vs. repubs was seldom more than a dog and pony show" for what it is and was.
Thank you !
Candance

Roger that!

JBS is the best educational organization in the country, and has always been in the vanguard of Liberty. Their message of less government, and more personal responsibility fits right in with RP's philosophy. The New American, as well as Pat Buchanan's American Conservative magazine are must reads!

McManus Yes!

McManus spoke at the Teaparty on the 16th December and at the Liberty Forum as well as the NHCCS dinner where we had a table.

Replying to my own post... baaaaddddd

Anyway, I just had a great belly laugh. I clicked on the link in my post above just to see what was up there on the battlefront and the title of the first article nearly mad me pee my pants.... It was: "Henry Kissinger - Sith Lord"
Now THAT's funny (especially if you know what Dr. K. is really all about).
Some may find no humor in it at all but it made my day. I'll have to read the article tomorrow tho. It's late.

Paul.

Thanks for this great post,

Thanks for this great post, mate. I'm proud to share most of your name: Paul D. Henson

I've seen you respond to a post of mine before I think.

Thanks "my friend" (a little McInsane humor for ya there).

Paul.

Great Comment!!!

I never heard of this society, thanks for the info.

I think you were right on point about the education, thats really all of this fight is over, the percpectives of people, do you go with hurts the majority and benifets a minority or do you do what is right what is just for the sake of all.

That is Why I think the Constitution should be the focus of this movement, it was designed in direct opposition of Tyranny.

Paul is either a member, or a close friend...

...of the JBS!

So...being a huge fan of

So...being a huge fan of reading and research, i decided to google a bit on Shadows of Power. Found this article that kinda knocks the book in the funniest of fashions:

Perloff makes a stronger case for earlier elitist machinations -- such as those that gave us the Federal Reserve, or that got us into the world wars and Vietnam. But his research starts taking some curious turns in the 1950s...The weirdness has to do with JBS's theory that CFR elites are really closet communists, and that they are consciously bringing America into decline for the sake of the new world communist order. Oops, fast-forward ten years, when globalism rules while communism is dead. Now it's clear that while communism had its own global ambitions, it was never in cahoots with the globalism practiced by Atlantic elites. If only JBS could find it within themselves to give up the ghost of communism, they might yet have something to contribute.

How funny is that?
More like the spooks of communism lol

I think Perloff has it nailed.

He links the two quite convincingly. Communism (an all the other ism's) are a tool, a means to an end. They are also part of the end whose ultimate goal is a blend of socialism and facism on a global scale, that those very elites spoken of in the review you posted, will control. I, for one have no intention being a "good little serf" on the global plantation.

There are probably 40 or more reviews on amazon for that book, and when I last checked the one you quoted was not among them. The overwhelming majority of them are 4 and 5 stars, with an overall rating of 4.5. Read the book for yourself instead of relying on a reviewer who has too big of a soft spot for the left.

Paul.

Well if you look at the U.S.

Well if you look at the U.S. today it starting to look a little Communist to me. Especially if Hillary is elected, hey maybe we really lost the cold war?
