Ron Paul Confirmed on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno - 10/30/07

Ron Paul is not on Jays schedule on the 30th, nor that week. I know one of the producers on the show who verified this.

Hey, at least we KNOW that Jay's interview with "Ron" is going to be a hellova lot more interesting than his interview with "Fred"...LOL!

I'd rather see Ron on with Leno, Stewart, Colbert and Maher than 60 Minutes, Dateline NBC, etc. You cannot, simply CANNOT underestimate the power of "humor" in a campaign, those who have it and those who don't. Ron has been playing his serious side on these recent debates and people need to see him SMILE and LAUGH on occasion, lest the "tin foil hat" stereotype take hold in the average person's mind.

Ron's statement on one debate where "We can achieve MUCH MORE in peace than through these unconstitutional wars" can also be said of achieving MUCH MORE in "humor" in many regards than these stale debates (actually we've YET to have a true "debate").

By the way, have you seen Stewart and Colbert's relentless jokes on the Fred Thompson campaign? PRICELESS! Let's laugh our way right into the White House next year :-)

I emailed the David Letterman show yesterday informing them that their competition had booked Ron Paul and asked for tickets when they decided to book him.

We need to have Lady Liberty hit $4 million during the Leno show. Kind of like The Big Apple on New Year's Eve. That will generate some sparks. Who can resist a countdown like that?

Guy Fawkes Nov 5, while it is a good day, only become popular because of a movie. And it happened in England, so all this will not make much sense to the average joe. Even if you explain it to them. If you want to evoke the cause of Liberty, the fight for Liberty, we as America have more than enough tradition to draw from.

And while in the movie the Parliament was blown up, what in reality happened? The plot failed. From Wikipedia:

Peter Heywood, a resident of Heywood, Greater Manchester, was reputedly the man who snatched the torch from Guy Fawkes’s hand as he was about to light the fuse to detonate the gunpowder. Fawkes was tortured over the next few days, after the King granted special permission to do so. James directed that the torture should be gentle at first, and then more severe. Sir William Wade, Lieutenant of the Tower of London at this time, supervised the torture and obtained Fawkes's confession. For three or four days Fawkes said nothing, let alone divulge the names of his co-conspirators. Only when he found out that they had proclaimed themselves by appearing in arms did he succumb. I like the fundraiser bomb idea for 11/5 too, but...

Wouldn't it be great if Leno could show Ron's live page (ronpaul2008.com) to the whole country at the beginning of the show, and then pull it up again during his interview, and finally show it at the end of the show tens of thousands of dollars later. I bet we could easily pull in 100,000 with so many people watching--in that one hour--it would be very cool and very impressive. There'd be no doubt that Ron Paul supporters are phenomenal spammers and very, very real.

I had emailed Jay's show asking for Ron quite some time ago, and hopefully, numerous thousands did the same. I haven't watched his show in a while, but he's a truly good guy from what I've seen from him over the years.

I think we should show our appreciation by making the night that Ron Paul appears, the biggest watched show of his in the history of The Tonight Show. I for one will be watching.

The biggest obstacle that the Ron Paul campaign faces now is the false "perception" that he is just some fringe candidate, with no real human following (polls), and no serious hope of ever winning.

The mainstream media helps perpetuate this myth, despite his demonstrated fundraising and debate success, by just focusing on National, Corporate-commissioned polls (many in which Ron Paul''s name may be omitted or mentioned last as an afterthought).

Having said that, we have to be honest here about the fact that Ron Paul does have a name recognition hurdle to climb, in part due to the conduct of the mainstream media. Going on National TV Shows like Jay Leno is an excellant way for him to get his name and his face out there across the whole Country and to become a more widely known personality.

But Ron Paul should capitalize on the Jay Leno opportunity even further by bringing with him some video clips to show that illustrate that he does indeed really have a strong, grassroots-driven, enthusiastic following that is strongly supporting his campaign. I am referring to video clips of his recent University of Michigan speech, or New York, or other campaign speeches, and events, where the crowd energy and enthusiasm and the size of Ron Paul voters and crowds are captured right on film for all to see.

This is a tactic for doing an end-run around the mainstream media, by in effect proving on film that: Ron Paul really is winning this race: a) he has the biggest crowd sizes, b) he is winning most of the straw polls and debates, c) he has the boots on the ground, d) he is the most exciting candidate in the race who is the only one really turning on large numbers of people.

Ron Paul should use the Jay Leno opportunity to show scenes from these type of campaign rally speeches right on Jay Leno and get this out there right on the mainstream airwaves.

The "perception" of Ron Paul as just some fringe candidate will then change. The polls will change too as that false perception is removed and destroyed.

I give a deep bow to whoever did this video. The beginning was good, though the music was, to me, odd at first. The Leno clip was an old chestnut, but still terrific. But! The ukulele and ?? music toward the end was just sweet as hell and extremely effective. Love it!

This may seem impossible....

...but if we can rally 100,000 RP supporters to donate $100 each on November 5th (10 million unbacked federal reserve notes)....well this equals more than 10 million dollars worth of main stream media 'shock and awe'.

Talk it up.

Rally the troops.

The constitution is worth it.
