For those of you who are now thinking that this endevour is coming to an end, you couldn't be more wrong. The way I see it, Dr. Paul has put himself out there as a target for the Neo-Con and Neo-Libs to attack. He promoted the basic principles of our Constitution and a true conservative message.
He inspired us all.
It is time we do something for ourselves and take on our own fight. We as a group have witnessed how an established GOP party that is well organized and entrenched in the system can manipulate the media and the meaning of the word Conservative.
We must each take it upon ourselves to counter this action. The Religious Right gained power by electing delegates and local party officials in the late 70's and early 80's.
This is our course of action.
If we are all truely supportive of Dr. Paul and the principles he has been the champion for, then we owe it to him to help him change the culture of the GOP. If we start by entrenching ourselves and like minded individuals within the local GOP committees, we can enact the same change within the party so that come 2012, we can actually utilize the positions to promote Liberty.
Now i know that about 80% of the people that support the good Doctor will disappear after he ends his run, so i am pleading with those of you who will still be looking to enact real meaningful change in the party. We need to step up to the plate and take the torch from Dr. Paul and fight our own battles to spread the message. That, as Dr. Paul puts it, is the real reason he has been in this campaign.
First we must become more active within the GOP and not as we were before. We need to take up the domestic issues that have been raised by doctor Paul and promote them to no end. While we all are opposed to the foreign policy of GLOBAL WELFARE, we should down play our opposition to the Wars until we have enabled ourselves to become influential enough to actually change it.
This will be the toughest battle any of us will undertake (aside from a personal family tragedy) for it will be for the long haul. Yes I believe we should fight against the McCain nomination and the election of more Socialist principles, but we must prepare to help Dr. Paul in Congress in 2010. We must be organized even further so that we can be considered an important voter block so that we can then dictate the course of future elections. If we don't we will all be doomed to continue the course into a suppressive government.
Since none of us want that, we should be the ones running the local caucuses and committees. This way we can then dictate the rules of engagement as they have been dictated to us.
We need to take over the system, so as to eliminate the failings of the system. for if we can take up only 10% of the committees we can start pursuing the direction of them towards the ideals we hold dear. For we all know how the message is recieved before we mention Dr. Paul's name and if we subvertly entrench ourselves in the system, they will not be able to mute us as they have in the media. For when we get just 10% of the committees, we can snowball that into growth that will avalanche into a sweeping take over.
Then it will be us that will be able topromote the values we hold dear, in much the same manner the Religious Right had in the 80's and 90's.

Can't change it? No, I think we still can. The neocons did it, and the rules of the game aren't all that different from when they staged THEIR takeover.
We've got what we need: An set of ideas that can inspire people into political action. An example to show that an honest, freedom-promoting politician CAN succeed in congress, a literal ARMY of people who are willing to get out and work for it, a communications medium that has enabled us to contact each other, remain in touch, exchange ideas, and develop redundant connections to supplement it, and (most importantly) a "schelling point" - a shared understanding of what to do and when where, and how to do it.
That "army" is extremely important: The Ron Paul meetup group members and waiting list now total just about 3/4 (73.5%) of the US troop strength in Iraq. A political party's internal organization and function is very much like a meetup group - a handfull of people in each area getting together occasionaly to plan and execute projects (and recruit others to their way of thinking and acting). While those areready in power slots have more say per-head than the rank-and-file, the latter are the real power in the party. By attending party meetings and working on party projects we can warp it to be something more like what it is supposed to be.
The bulk of the freedom-lovers have avoided politics lately because they've been convinced that they can't make a difference and would just be abused for no purpose. Ron Paul's example shows that they CAN succeed and CAN make a difference - at least so far in one election. Now that "Ron Paul has cured our apathy" by showing that the revolution was not a one-shot in the 18th century, it's possible for a flood of them will be inspired to take up the torch, continue (and expand) beyond this campaign, and again make this a freedom-promting rather than a freedom-destroying government. If this great cause has even a hope of succeeding, they can take any abuse they receive along the way as a sign of success and a badge of honor.
As for the media: The transparent bias and suppression of news has both left an opening for a third news network and accellerated the shift from broadcast and print news media to the internet. Meanwhile, word-of-mouth alone is enough to continue to propagate the message of freedom (just maybe not in time to swing THIS nomination). That dog won't hunt again.
Since the revolution a few in every generation have kept the dream alive. But now we have a generation of people where a rapidly growing number understand it, have the will to embrace it, and a do-or-die incentive to run with it. This could become the defining issue of their time.
So it seems to me that the time is ripe for warping the Grand Old Party until it lives up to its promises. That looks possible now, with just a few years of effort. Then, if that proves IMpossible, the experience of trying will have brought in more valuable converts (of ALL living generations) and provided valuable training and experience for future moves. (A great set of schelling points for moving on would be the next couple presidential elections: 2012 if we don't get our candidate nominated, 2016 if we don't take the whitehouse.)
Converts, by the way, are important: By forming a significant power block withing the GOP we would be in a position to convert members of other factions to our way of thinking and provide moral support if they decide it's correct. Many of these people already believe most of the same things we do. With exposure to the rest of the ideas some will also see the light. And they WILL talk to us: They'll want to find out how to get all that money and effort working for them: What will they do when they see the only way to get it is to REALLY work for freedom?
(But one of the greatest aspects of freedom is that there is no need to stick to just ONE approach. I happen to think the GOP can be turned, after which it will be a powerful tool for freedom. If a lot of like-minded people make the attempt, that's great. But there's no reason that people with OTHER good ideas shouldn't get together and run other projects in parallel. All it takes is for one to succeed - while a bunch of them coming at the power structure from all directions and reenforcing each other will be more effective than a single move that can be attacked with their full force.)

Don't boycott. At least make sure that you help retain the right to vote by writing in Ron Paul. Your vote couldn't go to a better place, much better than not voting at all. There will be a point when the turnout for voting is so small that it will be ignored and we'll lose the right to vote. We're so close to that now.

This stuff happened while we trusted our llegislators and old media. When they exclude someone or an idea, I'll know it's time for more research!
We don't have to march in
We don't have to march in lockstep behind Dr. Paul. And there are several reasons not to. For instance:
- If we all do the same thing we can all be stopped by the same move. Redundancy lets us try many things and take advantage of those that work.
- Ron Paul won't always be with us. We must learn how to think for ourselves - or at least develop an/or identify others who think along the same lines and have solutions leading to the same goals and by acceptable paths. (The Mises Institute - with which Ron Paul has close ties - is a good place to start looking.) Otherwise the revolution ends with him, rather than continuing into the indefinite future.
- In particular: If all we're doing is follow Ron, all THEY have to do is eliminate him. Then we're headless. With a host of thinkers all eliminating Ron would do is make the rest of us less predictable. In the ideal limit, with us all thinking for ourselves and organizing as convenient, eliminating Ron or ANY of us just removes one warm body - they'd have to kill us off faster than we recruit. With no concentrated authority there's nobody to surrender.,
Ron has been an inspiration: Showing us solutions and that they can work, exposing the holes in the arguments against freedom. Making of himself an example of how to live and battle for these ideals. But the movement has already done far more than he could have commanded it to do, or even considered and approved.
And that's what he WANTS to happen.
And that's what he's TOLD us is happening.
And that's what he's TOLD us to DO.
If you really want to follow the Good Doctor's orders, start thinking for yourself, doing things for yourself, and organizing with other like-minded people, voluntarily, to do the things you can't do by yourself, or more of those things that you can. And along the way, teach THEM to think and do for themselves as well.
Then you'll make him proud - as you would ANY good parent or teacher. And you;'ll make his legacy last far beyond his own participation.

I don't believe you understand the intent of my post.
It is a call to arms, that no mtter what happens, we should not stop fighting. the establishment will be over run with us if we so choose but, we need to choose. We must choose to do something, that will not endanger our lives, will not cost us our freeoms, or even cost great sums of money. we need to choose to be active in our political process for more than 1 year, we must become the GOP, so as to eliminate the unfair and biased practices against fellow Americcan's.
We must choose to continue to promote the principles and ideals that the Dr. Paul has put forward.
Finally, we must stop having Dr. Paul wage the battle for us, we must pick up our proverbial arms and fight to change the culture of Global Welfare within the GOP.

I'm not a US citizen, but my wife is and I love the US. What PA GOPer proposes here is the legacy that Dr Paul will leave, no matter what else occurs, and this proposal is what will enable the US to get back to where it is supposed to be: a Constitutional Republic, by the the people and for the people. The Constitution is an amazing document - it is without a doubt the finest blueprint I have ever seen for a modern day society - and the core principles that the Republican Party purports to stand for are 100% in line with that Constitution.
I hope one day in the not too distant future to come over and help fight the good fight in person, but in the meantime your country needs all you honest, hardworking patriots to stand up and take the people's party back so that - through it - you can can re-establish the greatest nation on earth the way that it should be. Hopefully that can still be done this year, but if not then it can be done through the 2010 midterms and and 2012 election.

We need to make sure we know who our Ron Paul congressmen are, and vote them in! Imagine 20 or so Ron Pauls in the house saying, "NO" every time McWar or OBilliary turn around...
We also need to decide collectively to do the same thing about the Presidential election in November. We need to ALL either write Paul in, vote Libertarian, or Constitutional. We MUST ALL DO ONE, AS A UNIT. If we divide our votes in November, they won't get the message. Keep in mind that our write ins probably WON'T get counted, especially if our district uses the LIEBOLD machines.

I have gotten some response to the Original posting, but i think i would need more. This is a call to prepare ourselves for the possibility of Dr. Paul not winning the election, let alone the convention going brokered.
If we do not prepare now for this, the messagge will die and we will be back to square one.
Dr. Paul has not forged ahead this far, only to see the support we have given him disappear. We must be ready to respond and have an organized and desisive action prepared if he does not win.

The Huckabee people can stay in their war-mongering, brainwashed fantases. They can believe his foolish socialized plans for illegal immigration, and his LIES about lowering taxes via another contrived 'fair tax', which is nothing more than another way to eke more money out of us. If he or any of them wanted to help Americans, they'd simply REDUCE EXISTING TAXES. They can be "true believers" like the media wants them to be, but it will be a cold day in hell before I vote for any of them, including the Democrats.

If Dr Paul is not the Republican candidate for President I say we write in his name in November. (Myself I need to learn exactly how to do that). He would take 7% of Reps, but I think 7% overall since Dems and Indies would also vote for him. Can you imagine if a write-in candidate got 7%? It would make the Reps do some soul searching for sure for 2012, especially when Juan McWar loses.

Why influence the GOP when you can control America?

Why settle for the Presidency when you, Ron Paul and his contributors can control Congress and all 50 state legislatures? If you can raise enough money to crush the political career of just one lawmaker (which you’ve already proved that you do), then Ron Paul can become a powerful whip to herd lawmakers in a way that has never been done before. You need to keep reading this though.
Why settle for electing the next president (or not) when you can make history as big as George Washington and Thomas Jefferson? Ron Paul supporters seizing control of legislatures nationwide is far more powerful than electing a president. More importantly, you’ll be showing your fellow Americans how to be free and join the revolution. You just need to spend a few minutes learning how to restructure the transaction that you use in your fundraising so that it is free from certain campaign laws. It’s easy, but it’s different. You’ve never heard of this before. You’ll need to finish reading this.
Why work for free when you can get paid at free enterprise levels for your accomplishments? The solution that I’m proposing here is pretty much unregulated. Now you can earn what you are worth. In exchange for changing the history of the world decisively and quickly, I expect that you’ll earn a lot as in “millionaires.”
If you’re politically sophisticated, you probably know about bundling. What you are reading about now is much more powerful. Bundling forces contributors to lock into a certain candidate. When your main purpose is to heard cattle, not whip a certain beast, you must be free to crack your whip loudly to drive the herd and only, very occasionally, wack whatever beast you choose whenever you choose. If you take the action described here, you will have that freedom...now!
Maybe you know about soft money. There is nothing soft about the whip that you’re reading about here. It’s all hard money. There’s no legal limit on how powerful this whip can be.
I’m a CPA. I’ve known how to legally create this whip for many, many years. The catch has always been that my system, which I call PowerVote, only frees small donors united behind a cause from key campaign finance laws. It does nothing to free corporations, unions or the wealthy from their legal limits. This is a rare moment in history. Never before have so many people put up so much money behind a man and a cause for no personal benefit other than the cause itself. The power is now here. It just needs to be formed into a powerful whip that will cause lawmakers to flee for their political lives. It’s a whip Ron Paul can use to drive the legislation you and he stand for.
I just read that RP is scaling down his campaign. The moment in history is now. The time to seize control of the government is now. Every minute of inaction threatens failure by loss of momentum. I have no more time to spend selling you on a great new future for you, your country and mankind. Here’s how it works:
You generate contributions directly to Ron Paul (not his official campaign).
Have donors attach a brief note designating a certain amount or percentage as a deposit in support of the action/legislation of your choice. At this stage, the amount or percentage really doesn’t matter, but you will understand its significance as you read on.
The attachment also needs to tell RP to return the deposit whenever he feels the timing is best to support the action wanted. Ask him also to refund the deposit with target information as to how best to lash a targeted lawmaker. (Note: hopefully, RP will get the demanded legislation without needing to resort to an actual lashing. In this case, the deposit should come back without any need to spend it. If a lashing is necessary, it will probably consist of RP directing deposits into the campaign of a non-incumbent candidate challenging a targeted lawmaker for office. These deposits are free from key campaign finance laws because any contribution of them is totally controlled by the original depositor.)
In this same attachment, the donor must tell Ron Paul to inform PowerVote at jtodaro1@wowway.com of the amount of the deposit, the political action demanded and the name and e-mail address of the donor. (Note: This action will facilitate the verification of the deposit and allow it to be added to the PowerVote scoreboard at PowerVoteNow.com. THIS IS THE WHIP. The scoreboard has a column showing the total amount of deposits in support of Ron Paul, the action demanded and his target priorities. The PowerVote scoreboard frees RP from any direct lobbying whatsoever. He just tells PowerVote what his targeting priorities are and then it’s all there to see for any lawmaker who wants to save his career by supporting the action wanted.)
Finally, the attachment should tell Ron Paul that he is free to spend the non-deposit portion of the money however he sees fit. (Note: this is the part that has the potential to flow to fundraisers as well as other administrative expenses. Rp is a smart man. He knows that for any enterprise to thrive, people must get paid today what they are worth today.)
The above is an attempt to draft RP as a PowerVote Whip now before he loses the BIG MO. As volume of participation increases, PowerVote could relieve RP of any administrative burdens for a small fee. Off the top of my head, I’m thinking $5 per subscription.
By the way, subscribing and speaking are just what you are asking people to do. They are using their First Amendment protected speech to make a deposit that proves how seriously Americans take an issue so that the aggregate amount can be announced on the PowerVote scoreboard. They do this to attract financial support for a cause, determine how much financial support there is for a cause and give lawmakers a chance to take the action necessary in order to avoid the expense of influencing an election. Simultaneously, you are asking subscribers to use their First Amendment rights to free press to subscribe to a publication that advises them on where to make a campaign contribution and whether or not such action is even advisable.
Now, you could ask the FEC if this is all legal and you could do that for free. Personally, I wouldn’t care what they said. This isn’t an FEC issue, it’s a First Amendment issue.

Yes, a powerful, very different option
You don't even need to defeat a targeted lawmaker, you just need to show you can do it. That becomes the WHIP to herd lawmakers. But somebody who can call RP's troops to action needs to take charge, and do that soon. This forum may shrivel before anybody knows that there's a powerful new option.

My next step is to help recruit a real deal presidential candidate for the Constitution Party, which I am my wife will now join.
I see Bloomberg running; we (pro Constitution) can win a four way race. We have to thank Ron Paul for getting us to the 50 yard line -- now we need a new quarterback - as Ron Paul is now centering on his Congressional race.
I am minority here -- I think this may be our last free presidential election. When I think of how much personal freedom we have lost in the last 8 years -- I shudder to think where we will be in another 8 years of cfr agenda rule.
Pray to God for Him to rasie up and bring forward good people to run for president now.
The Constitution Party has her nominating convention in April -- so we need to find someone fast.

The Paul Movement did not generate enough American interest in changing business as usual. As such, the RP movement's failure has signaled America is ripe for the taking, and moving at break neck speed to achieve the North American Union.
Thinking we have time to organize a new party or take over the republican party after this election is foolish thinking.
The process has been rigged from the beginning, McCain will be the nomination because he cannot win. This gives a clear path for Clinton/Obama to lead America into the new world order, stating with full entry into the NAU which will nullify the US Constitution.
This upcoming election in November is our last shot at perserving the American way of life.

I don't see this as a failure though. I think that we can win a major battle if we stage massive demonstrations this April 15.
We're all being screwed by this government in the form of taxation.
If Dr. Paul is not on the ballot, we need a massive write-in
campaign. If there are a million hard-core RP supporters right now (and I think there are more...) then if each is able to educate 10 people, and each of those 10 people, we will have 111,000,000 people, enough to win in the general election. We have 9 months. What say you?

Please have respect for Dr. Paul for sticking to his convictions in choosing to remain a Republican. Whether we agree or not, we must respect him for his decision. Become a delegate so that there will be a freedom presence at the National Convention.
If you want to continue to work beyond that to restore the republic, then consider working within an online and an IN PERSON network toward this aim. We do not know the future. We need to find like-minded people IN OUR COMMUNITIES as well as online, or this thing will not work.

Tax Day Revolt!
I don't know what your feelings are about taxation, but I am fed up with this system--one that takes your money and allows Congress to spend it on completely absurd programs. I support Ron Paul because he is still speaking out about this unjust system.
I think that this revolution must focus its efforts on dismantling America's system of taxation. We should make April 15 look like September 11 in the eyes of each and every American.

I am also Pro-life and Pro-Gun rights.
I however do not see the "impending doom" that gay marraige is supposed to bring, as i see it, we all have the right to pursue our own Happiness, which is individually defined. The only limitation is the rights of others.
The message resonates still
Ron Paul lost on issues, not philosophy. His philosophy will resonate.
The next must be a refining of his message to package it in a manner to appeal to main stream people not just target groups.

Inflation went up 4.1 percent last year. Milk increased 13 percent, bread went up 7.4 percent, and the price of eggs went up 29.3 percent. Gas is staying over $3 per gallon, and so is heating oil. These price increases are a hardship for working and middle class families and those on fixed incomes. We all buy the things above, and we're all affected by the price increases, especially when wages only went up by .9 percent.
I look at the numbers above, and I feel for my neighbors. I feel for everyone who's struggling to make ends meet, and has to choose between gas for the car, oil to heat the house, or food on the table.
But I'd like to step away from that all for a bit. It's depressing and dwelling on what's wrong isn't going to make it right. I'd rather take a minute to imagine a better future — one that's hopeful for everyone.
Imagine a society where the goods you bought a year ago still cost the same amount today and will cost the same a year from now. Imagine being able to keep all of the money you earn instead of paying 40 percent or more of it in taxes.
Imagine what would happen if local communities and parents got to guide the education of their children instead of big-government bureaucrats hundreds of miles away. Imagine what would happen if it only cost $6,000 a year to educate a child instead of $12,000, but the education was just as good, if not better (that's the difference between the cost of a private education and a public one).
Imagine if this country was safe from threats abroad, not just because we had truly secure borders, but also because we meddled less in the affairs of others and had fewer enemies.
Imagine living in a country where the thought of government spying on its own citizens was absurd; after all, the government is in place to protect our privacy — not exploit it.
Imagine being able to afford health care because it's less expensive and not a government handout. Imagine being able to decide on what treatments and tests are right for you with your doctor, without having to refer to a list of "acceptable procedures and treatments" based on a government analysis of "cost-benefit" ratios (in other words, if your disease will cost more to treat than your expected productivity and "worth" afterwards, it's more economically "sound" to let you die).
Imagine a world where adults control their own lives. Where as long as they're not hurting anyone else, or infringing on anyone else's rights, that they're left to control their own life. Where we stop locking people up for regulatory infractions and start prosecuting people who actually commit crimes where there is a victim. Where we don't have more prisoners per capita than any other country in the world in a country that is supposed to be free.
This is the kind of world that I want to live in. It's the kind of world where I want to raise my children. The path that we're headed down now isn't going to lead to this kind of world. The path that this country is currently on is going to lead to something quite different, and may lead to the downfall of this great nation.
I want to see the world I've described, and the only way to do that is to vote for Dr. Ron Paul for president, 10-term congressman, veteran, father of five and grandfather of 18; a true hero and just what this country needs!
