I just took my first crack at canvassing today. I had two hundred Ron Paul Free Enterprise slim jims with me. There are two main streets in a city called Lakewood here that are lined with just businesses. I am talking 3 miles one side of the street and walking back three miles on the other side of the street. I could not believe how warmly I was recieved. I walked in each business and told the owner I had really great information for him or her. Everyone had nothing but great things to say about Ron Paul. The crazy thing is that Lakewood is primarily Democrat. People now more than ever are ready to talk politics. I made sure to tell them that I was working on Paul's behalf for free because I believed in his message. I am a total believer now that canvassing is huge. It is actually a lot of fun too. Don't think people will shoot you down when you hand them that information, they are as sick of the b.s. as we are, they want to know their choices. A lot of them asked me for more slim jims so that they could hand them out. Don't forget people trust them enough to spend money with them, so they will also listen to what they have to say about Ron Paul. I said in a recent post that I sent out about 85,000 direct mailers to people's houses. I got a couple more chip ins and that number now is actually 100,000 plus houses. It only cost about 1600.00. Call your local home mailer company and ask them about it. They will print just about anything you want in those coupon mailers.
