RON PAUL WON WASHINGTON STATE
Don't listen to the bullshit straw poll-It's Meaningless
We won the most delegates.
We know it
The WSRP knows it (some of them might need to change their pants I'm making up a rumour that many of them shat themselves upon seeing the delegate totals and further defecated profusely in them upon realizing that they had elected our shadow delegates and it's too late to do anything about it).
CNN knows it.
But they are scared that if you come to know it the grassroots will experience a resurgence and rise from the ashes like a phoenix to lead this nation through the trying times ahead.
Don't be scared be a delegate! Or organize something to help get the delegates the money and transportation they need to get to the next caucus

Apparently they were using the sign in sheet as a straw poll. Many Paul supporters did not put down his name on the sign in sheet for fear of unfair treatment.
Also, uncommited delegates equal 12% of the delegates nominated. How many of those are Paul supporters...
Lasty a delegate can change their mind about whom to support at any time. We were not voting for a candidate this weekend. We were voting for our neighbor to represent our precinct at the caucus.
My report for WA
First, I did not take a straw poll or anything like that. Maybe they used the sign-in sheet? I have no idea where they are getting those numbers. At my combined caucus we only voted for delegates.
Second, only 5 people showed up in my precinct.
2 for Paul (the other three people liked Paul too)
2 for McCain
1 for Huck
At first we decided that we could vote a delegate of each candidate as this was fair and we had three delegate slots open. But a grumpy old McCain supporter did not like Huck and stated we should shut out Huck and send 2paul/1mccain or 2mccain/1paul delegates to the convention. I liked my chances so my husband and I agreed.
Next, we took a vote. We ended up with 2 Paul delegates and 1 McCain delegate! The McCain supporter is riding with me to the county convention and I should be able to change their mind on the road. :)
Go Washington!!!
Great job!
If only all Ron Paul supporters showed as much backbone!
I heard in the local news
I heard in the local news today, in talking about Huckabee's vote fraud story.. that Washington State Republican Party Chairman, Luke Esser, was saying the results were posted because they were superficial.
That is why he called it early for McCain.. because he knew the results being reported were meaningless.
This is the very first year anything like that has been reported to the press in Washington.. The delegate process here takes months and months and ends in May, but the GOP decided to report some kind of straw poll statistics early.. they didn't even tell my district that they were doing a straw poll at all or that was the use of the sign up sheet.
Ron Paul "won Washington" is kinda untrue, he won the most precinct delegates and has a BIG lead for the rest of the state.. but its not over yet.
I'll see if I cant get audio of Luke Esser saying that up on here or YouTube..
Apparently they are going to
Apparently they are going to start counting the remaining ballots in Washington. Huck is putting pressure on them on TV. Do we have any Ron Paul supporters on this in Washington? I bet they stopped the counting because Ron Paul won, not Huck
The count is superficial.
The count is superficial. They are counting a straw poll that has no basis at all on the results.
For instance my straw poll had no votes for Paul and votes for McCain and Huckabee.
However ALL of our delegates when to Paul.
Why? because Paul supporters did not want to write down who they were for walking into the caucus and did not know it was a poll.
Re:
Hi All, I'm a PCO here in Washington, and the preliminary report is that it looks like Ron Paul has at least twice as many delegates as the other candidates! It goes without saying to ignore the OM sabotaging. Way to go Washington, and let's keep up the fight!

when will we have an
when will we have an official delegate count? i heard april 12th from someone on here. true?
District or County conventions are next step
April 12th is when Spokane County has their convention, I think the Seattle area (on the other side of the state) has their district conventions March 8.
That's apparently where they'll send delegates to the state convention (which is in Spokane this year) on May 30 and 31 -- and that is where they'll select delegates to the National convention. So the local caucuses were just the 1st step. And the state convention only selects about 19 of the 40 total state delegates to the National Convention, the other delegates come from the primary which is a ballot by mail, Feb. 19th.
In case that clears it up? (I'm a delegate to the Spokane County convention.)
We Won
Tell all the trolls on this message board to spread the word to their NWO handlers. Also did you hear McCain gave up secrets in the POW camp and later embraced his captors.
It's classified.
But, at this website - vietnamveteransagainstjohnmccain.com, there are videos explaining it. we should use our internet powers to spread that article, far and wide, ASAP.

good job
praise washington..great job
please stop posting titles
please stop posting titles in all caps it is inflammatory - we can read it just fine without your making it over the top.
I'm now a delagate!
So I went to our caucus (Tacoma, Wa). I was extremely luck I has very friendly people in my local precinct, I was voted unanimously to be a delagate. Our other delagate was put down as Mccain, but really liked what I had to say about Paul, so likely he'll vote for Paul at the county caucus. Of course my girlfriend wasn't so lucky she was the only Paul supporter in a group of 8 Huckabee supporters who were extremely rude to her.
nice job!
nice job!
Not a straw poll if delegates must vote McCain on 1st round
I come here for accurate analyis. If McCain really did get 26% of the popular vote, which I doubt because over at FreeRepublic tons of conservatives were saying that McCain was getting no support in their cauci, then McCain just won a lot more pledged delegate first round votes, including many from RP supporters who had become delegates last night.
There won't be a brokered convention, which means most of our RP delegates will, in fact, be forced to rubber stamp McCain next September.
Thats not how it works
First of all in order to be a delegate you had to be a registered voter and say your were a Republican. In order to vote on the sign up sheet all you needed to do was sign up - and there is where you could have voted or even signed up someone else who wasn't there and voted again. The sign up sheet poll did NOT count for anything.
These are not national delegates
The delegates won last night, whether RP or JM or whomever, are to the COUNTY conventions. The delegates who go to the county convention then elect a subset of themselves to go to the state convention. The delegates who get elected to the state convention then elect a subset of themselves to the NATIONAL convention. That final round of delegates are the ones who will vote in the nominating convention. But it is important to have RP supporters be the majority of the early (precinct) delegates, so that they will elect mostly RP supporters at county level, and then that majority of RP supporters will elect RP supporters to state, and once there is a majority of RP delegates at state, then of course RP delegates will get elected to national.
See how it works? It is confusing, I admit, but only at first glance. Otherwise it is just representative democracy at work.
GREAT JOB WASHINGTONITES!!!!
The best showing for RP thus far. Great job!
Thank you so much!! But it's
Thank you so much!! But it's Washingtonians...LOL
Yes it is
Yes it is Washingtonians. "People who study vote for me," Ron Paul.
And you were saying?
delegate vs sign-in sheet discrepancy
For my caucus, the Ron Paul supporters were LESS than 10% of the sign in sheet, where we indicated who we supported - this is the basis for the CNN numbers.
BUT, Ron Paul supporters were 30% of my precinct's DELEGATES and 40% of the Fort Lewis DELEGATES.
POINT: If my caucus had RP at less than 10%, but elected delgates for him 3 to 4 times higher than the sign-in sheet, and IF my caucus represents what happened across the state, then we are in very good shape. Also, I believe that most of the "uncommitted" voters were Paul people running for delegate slots- we had one such crypto-Paulite delegate elected in my caucus. She ran as "uncommitted" but has maxed out the contribution limit to Paul.....
Please contribute to Paul's Congressional race; redstate.com is sponsoring the Neo-Con effort against him. He needs our help.
http://www.ronpaulforcong...
Exactly!
Some Caucuses held an additional vote after caucusing awhile, some caucuses just used the sign-in sheet numbers. Cagey RP supporters signed in as uncommitted and became delegates.
Washington Delegates
Maureen at our state HQ is still receiving the delegate #'s . All precincts please report in!!!!!!!!! Maureen just told me so far we have 3 times as many delegates as any other candidate. They are still counting but all precincts have not reported in yet. The delegates are what count in Washington, Godspeed, we ARE winning Washington.
You say we win Washington?
And I pick up the paper, or watch the news and they say McCain won. Just like Louisiana.....we say we win, but seems like everybody else sees Huckabee as the winner. Are we looking through rose colored glasses. I know it's wishful thinking, but that ain't going to take us too far down the road.
Same thing in Maine
80 show up and vote. 60 go home. 20 remain and get elected delegates....RP trounced Dr.Paul BUT where are the results for the delegates???
Two words
Delegate count
What you're reading about
was the fashion show they held. They barely won delegates. RP has the good majority of the delagates, capish?

Eastern WA. perhaps. There's
Eastern WA. perhaps. There's a big difference from Western Wa and eastern Wa. Eastern Washington leads more Republican.
Clark County is SW
... and Ron took first place with 45%. McCain was 4th. We made it happen.
Great Job, Clark County!
Clark County also held a straw poll and counted ALL the numbers to clarify Ron Paul won Clark County! I heard that on KATU news out of Portland at 6:00 PM.
Did someone call in the totals to the news media? The state GOP is sure keeping it quiet and spreading disinfo.
Looks like
Looks like Washington State should be called the live free or die state. NH needs to be stripped of the name.
**IMPORTANT**
To all the Washington delegates -- it would be VERY HELPFUL to create a new forum post that tells everyone HOW YOU DID IT! A step by step process so others in straw polls can learn and organize better as well. Yes, I realize providing this information might influence others from the other side to take some notes as well, but we cannot afford to lose due to people not fully understanding what is needed to win -- and that is more important right now. Right?
canvas, keep data, GOTV and train
Basically, guide people to the end you want. Canvas, introduce Ron Paul, find the issues they care about, let liberty sell itself, keep in contact, provide caucus training and reminder calls.
On the admin side, build the contact list (name, number, address, precinct), prepare caucus worksheets (delegate, alternate and straw poll tracking), prepare multiple copies of resolution (get out of UN, right to life, etc). Ask one RP supporter from each precinct to be the leader for their precinct. Ask one or more persons to present resolutions at the caucus. Ask one person to fill out caucus worksheet at the caucus.
Don't fret if you can't get people committed to everything because you will tie up loose ends at the caucus. Read on.
Make a list of caucus locations with their respective precincts and assign table leaders to each location. Coordinate help from another state to be table leaders (e.g. OR helped WA). We had a few people with trucks/SUV dropoff tables at the location early.
Table leaders meet at a location and got a briefing with a bag of gear, signs, caucus instructions and the precinct envelopes. Look your best and wear RP gear. Disperse to the caucus location and arrive an hour early.
Table leaders setup a RP table outside the caucus entrance, Help the GOP chair setup. RP supporters will be attracted to the table. Find out what precinct they are in and give the leader the envelope and caucus instruction pack. Give the resolution sheets and caucus worksheet. They also give RP stickers to supporters and info to the curious.
If people don't show up or are missed, have one or more table leaders go into the caucus 10-15 minutes prior. Leave one at the table. Mingle with people and tie up loose ends (envelopes to RP supporters in their precinct, resolutions, worksheets, etc). Help the GOP chair and help everyone find their spots regardless of who they are. Give briefings and encourage delegate importance to RP supporters not on the list.
When the caucus starts, help out any way you can. Take notes on the straw polls and delegate selection if you can. Collect the forms if you can, but also put email and phone on it in case it is missed.
I'm not sure why, but I think because I wore a pin stripe suit, was helpful and acted "as if" I belonged there and knew what I was doing, people assumed I was in charge. I wore a RP pin and the GOP asked me to give a speech on Ron Paul's behalf to the pooled caucus - all 200 people. They didn't ask anyone else to speak on any other candidate's behalf.
We did this the entirety of Clark county and took first place in the straw poll with 45% and elected the most delegates. It was absolutely brilliant.
Other Caucuses
I was elected as delegate to the county GOP convention in the Nevada caucuses on January 19th. These caucuses were followed by a non-binding straw poll in which Dr. Paul finished 2nd statewide behind Mitt Romney (there is an enormous LDS community in NV). I, along w/ another RP delegate and 6 Romney delegates were elected to our County GOP convention to be held on March 8 (http://www.clarkgop.org/) which will select delegates to our State GOP Convention on April 26 (http://www.nevadagop.org/...), and is only there that the delegation to the National GOP Convention in St. Paul, MN will be selected.
The issue at hand is what will happen to those delegates who supported Romney. I also know in my precinct (because I was precinct captain) that the three alternate delegates selected were RP supporters (lots o' Mormons in the room). Will the Romney supporters even show up to the convention? And if they do, are they open to our message of liberty and states' sovereignty? The Ron Paul 2008 campaign should be working hard to campaign for delegates here in Nevada as well as other caucus states which haven't held the delegation conventions like Maine, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, and others!
It's not that hard but it
It's not that hard but it takes some time. We attended the GOP meetings and made friends. Our County chairman is a closet RP lover but very fair to all candidates. When they needed help for the caucus there we were. Our meet up was determined last fall to do as Jane recommends and help shift the GOP platform.
Here is how Whatcom County GOP reported:
78 Huckabee
60 Paul
47 McCain
34 Undecided
20 Romney
9 precincts were not turned in to the state yet. The state only asks for those caucuses that were pooled at more than 2 precincts. I feel extremely confident that the rules were followed and that all votes were counted based upon the rules of the caucus. These nine will be included at the county convention.
I think this is the same for
I think this is the same for COLORADO... Romney won the straw poll but there are MANY DELEGATES FOR RON PAUL!
I know that many precinct
I know that many precinct delegates were also Romney supporters, but now that he's out, will they be motivated to continue to the County and State conventions? An opportunity for RP supporters that are precinct delegate alternates.
YEP!!! and I think they will
YEP!!! and I think they will go for Ron Paul anyway.. THEY HATE MCINSANE!
So THAT's the reason for the delay...
All of the WSRP party officials had to go home and change pants and underwear (and washup)!
I was part of the group that won Clark County for Ron Paul
Myself and the Salem, OR group traveled 80 miles one way to canvas Clark county every weekend for months (although I didn't so much in January - long story). Several people from Portland and Hillsboro did too. I helped organize strategy and data with the county and regional meetup and campaign coordinators. We got out the vote. We helped them at the caucuses by setting up tables, organizing supporters at each precinct. We attended their caucus. We helped the GOP chair. At my precinct, I was asked to give a speech on Ron Paul's behalf. I did. They didn't ask anyone else the same for their candidate. They caucuses. We verified the straw poll and the delegates at the caucus. We reported back to HQ. We cross verified with the GOP.
Ron Paul took first in Clark county with 45%. He also took first in Spokane and other counties. We got the data in real time. The local paper reported he won.
http://www.columbian.com/...
We also watched CNN and politico and saw the unfolding of LIES. Several people awoke that night to the machine of media fraud because they worked very hard for months, verified all the data, and witnessed something else completely come out of the media spigot.
We all know Ron won a lot of counties in the straw poll, but more importantly, he won a LOT of delegates. Our job isn't finished. The second half of the vote is on Feb 19 with their primary. We're keeping the pressure on.
HEROES!
You guys blow me away.
terrific Job, We need more of this!

This election has revealed all the freedom loving states. Not to mention where all the "smart" people are. Makes me want to move to Washington State.
Bellingham is a great place.
Bellingham is a great place. Lot's of different kind of people... Contact our meetup people we'll tell you all about it. The more freedom loving RP supporters the better!
This is GREAT news! Awsome
This is GREAT news! Awsome job! We need to spread the word of success so people will believe it can happen and not settle for the lesser of 2 evils!
Other 30%
Why is the Other category so high for the Republicans and only 1% for the Democrats? (reference Polotico)
I still care about the meaningless straw poll,
for I believe it will earn Dr. Paul recognition in the eyes of the public, which is HUGE for political momentum. But I will be happy with the results, regardless.
