This is a new meet-up and you'll find me listed there as Kathy of Smithville.
I signed up as Precinct Leader last week and we are scrambling to gather materials, canvass, recruit volunteers and place ads. My area includes 543 registered voters, many of them long country roads.
To avoid breaking household budget, I've decided to ask for help. More materials are needed and funds to help with fuel costs too. The district coordinator is looking into a PAC which is fine, but it will take time which we do not have.
Ohio is an important state having 88 delegates up for grabs in March 4 primary. These are winner take all by Congressional District, mine being #16. If you're maxed out or unable to help with ground work, please give generously! We are so grateful for your donation and THANK YOU for supporting RON PAUL 2008!

UPDATE: Sunday, Feb. 17
With primary only 2 weeks away, it's looking like direct mail may be our best bet in getting these materials out to majority in my precinct. We have a shortage of feet to deliver these and price of gas to cover country miles is not good. Phone calls will begin in ernest this week and hope to further identify voters for Ron Paul and primarily target those most likely to chose him. None of this will not be possible for my precinct without your help.

Perry Village
There are two Perry's in Ohio and I live in the one closest to the lake, right by the nuclear power plant. So I am a a couple hours north of Akron and we are right on Lake Erie.

We hope RP does well in OH and am working toward that.

I am in the country as well, had to do a lot of work being the only Leader here. I found that going to the local gas stations and grocery stores, Walmart and our "mall" was the best way to tackle my area. PEOPLE CAME TO ME! Everyone wanted to know what I was handing out. I would wear a homemade iron-on shirt that said "Ask me about FREEDOM!"
(Now I wear a shirt that says "Did you hear what the TROOPS said?")
Go with a friend, don't do this alone. It works, I promise! Sometimes you get sent away, just be polite and move on to another location. It's so hard going door to door when houses are acres apart. Then nobody's home ect.. THERE ALL AT THE GROCERY STORE!

I think there may be a couple key places around here to hang out. Our Walmart is very large and about the only place left for people to shop. Risky to do there but not impossible. We are leaning hard toward mail, especially the longer miles out there and then follow up with phone calls. Love your shirt ideas!
