There are a few naysayers on this topic and I have to say I am disappointed with the cynicism. We have railed against the media bias, against unfair speaking time, against the lies and betrayals we have seen in our corporate owned media and yet some people are so soft skinned they shrink from embarking on creating a new, truthful media.
Trevor has demonstrated vision and ability. Where were you naysayers when the Tea Party Bomb happened? The MOST money generated for a presidential candidate in one day in the history of the WORLD. Did you remember, remember November 7th? Was almost 2 Million dollars when the media was still ignoring us not enough on the Doctor's Anniversary. The Ron Paul Blimp was NEWS all across the south, so what if it didn't happen in your neighborhood, did you even buy the miniblimps for sale and post them around your town?
We are going to take over the media and own the truth. For all of you left without the next Google (the fourth highest contributing group to ron Paul) or Microsoft (the fifth highest) will be that much poorer for your weak kneeed, yellow belly, lily livered enslavement to the media. Hope you enjoy the shackles.
Trevor is the only reason RP got any funding to speak of.....
Trevor put his life on hold to get the cash for RP and he did it. This guy isn't playing games / shooting his mouth off: he's a proven success. With that, I think any of us will be lucky to be able to invest anything with him. Perhaps he's being charitable to the people of like mind, because I can guarantee you he has the ear of anyone he wants to speak to and can probably get large investment sums from other sources.
RP did give Trevor credit for the MoneyBombs; and was stressing that it was a grassroots effort because the powers-that-be think everything is top-down. HQ couldn't have done this and RP was being very intentional in revealing that supporters that are in-tune with the collective consciousness are going the extra mile for the campaign to ensure it's success.
My bet is that Trevor's effort will be the Microsoft IPO of media. You guys are naysaying someone that did something never done before in political fundraising and without him, RP would have already been out of this race long ago. The fact is that while fundraising is now diminishing, it's simply a calm before a new moneystorm because the message continues to flourish.
The armchair quarterbacks of dailypaul.com should take a hard look in the mirror. So what if Trevor is trying to make a few bucks? He's the one that made the sacrifice and got RP the cash. If you don't like what he's doing, don't invest, plenty of others are already in line.

the "ron paul blimp" communication broke down and we got about 1/3 of what was promised. for example, nobody even penned a daily blog entry about "what was going on."
I suspect that Lyman is trying to monetize his 15 minutes of fame.
There are many "break the matrix" style websites out there like prisonplanet, etc... What's the value in another one?

about the outcome before we invest. That goes for any project that we undertake. The key for me is the answer to this question: IF I risk $100 (not a substantial sum for me) on this project, does it buy me a fair probability of a reward that is manyfold greater than my investment? The answer for me is "yes" and thus I will go for it.

Better yet, ask yourself, with Lyman and Rick Williams [certainly of some credentials] steering a project promoting a competitive platform, cannot we expect more success? Check it out, give it a read. Worth the investment... but perhaps after the campaigning season.

I believe in the idea. I've seen several suggestions to pool money for a new media company, but we need to approach this like investors. Just throwing money around is a risky move.
We should probably be asking a couple of smart questions:
1.) Will there be a business plan published? What are we buying? Is it a content company? A distribution company?
2.) Will there be an independant board that can represent the interests of the shareholders?
3.) They are only offering up 41.6% of the company. Who will own the rest? Even if all of us buy into the company and vote together, there is no guarantee we can make any difference in the company.
4.) Are the guys starting the company putting up money or is the remaing 58.4% given to them for free? With $5M in cash, they could sell the company tomorrow for $4M and pocket a good chunk of that.
5.) If they start to see success, but run out of money, nothing prevents them from selling to MSNBC. We should have the right-of-first-refusal in this scenario.
I am a management consultant. I know several other people on this site have investment backgrounds. Perhaps we can send a group of 4-5 people to speak with Trevor about the project to negoiate on behalf of the investors to make sure:
1. Everyone is getting the best deal
2. The proper oversight is in place.
3. The shareholders are represented

This is a ron paul'esque response. While Trevor manned up and organized the first few money bombs, RP still decided that he would not recall his name on national television. He never really gave him the high five for doing it - perhaps RP believed he could be a swindler or non-loyalist? I say we need more information, before the movement endorses this. If it's a media movement for the people, we ought negotiate for 85%. Otherwise - Trevor, stop trying to profit off a movement where nobody knows for sure your plans are to remain loyal to. The blimp was an outright failure, I saw that coming.
I will assume Trevor is both capable and a stand-up guy
He's done a lot for RP.
With that said, I've been involved enough start-ups to know that good fences build good neighbors. The closer you are with the business associate, the more formal the business relationship should be.

Anyone know? I have subscribed to Sky Angel sattelite tv through the Dish Network receiver, and recently received notice that Sky Angel could not longer use Dish Network and was going to using an IPtv receiver that received signal with hi speed internet and transmitted it to your tv.

Sounds very similar to an idea I just posted last night, except these guys seem to have a more solid idea than me. Like I said, I'm not very knowledgeable about business (sad, I know - at least for something large-scale like this), but it's good to see others with good plans. I was just roughly putting out there that we really need an MSM alternative, one that people will see, and will be high quality enough to attract people to watch. Good to see this spark of an idea is going forward; I don't care who does it.
Tell you what, though. I have over 17 years of experience in professional video production. I wouldn't give up my day job for this Basic Media channel (unless this really took off), but I would be more than willing to shoot and/or edit video for this channel as a side job. I would do it for a really reasonable rate. I think that could be my best contribution to the Revolution. If there are other video professionals here, I think there could be enough programming demand to make room for many producers, videographers, editors, motion graphic artists, and so on.

By the way, I don't quite understand the concept of an internet-based channel that goes "off internet". Forgive me - even though I consider myself fairly tech-savvy, I guess I'm still "old school" (I started editing video on linear tape-based systems back in the early 90's!) and I don't grasp this concept. How will it be "off internet"? Where will it go? How can it infiltrate mainstream channels? (If I read that web page correctly.)
