Who will be the Libertarian Party nominee? If not Ron Paul.
If Ron Paul is not running as a third party or Libertarian, who will be their nominee.
And (if he doesn't win the GOP nominee) post a Y/N answer, will you write in Ron Paul, or vote Libertarian...
output

RIGHT-FLANK
The GOP is like an abandoned building that needs demolished and rebuilt. It is currently being slowly rebuilt with RP delgates and RP Republican running for office. But it also needs some explosives to blow up McCain and other neo-conservatives (figuratively speaking of course). The best way to do that is boost the LP with money bombs so they can take votes away from McCain.

riveting question...
...I am so distracted...
Ron Paul
This is a Ron Paul support site.
this needs to be deleted
write in
I'll write in Paul's name.
Libertarians with their pro abortion/death stances have lost my support.
Also they complained to much about Paul stealing supporters from them instead of getting behind him in his early run.
They will always be a plagued party in my opinion.
Right now
Dr. Paul is running for President. That's all I need to know.
Gee Whiz!
Guys,
We are all under the same big ol' tent. The problem here is that the thread was "negative" to start off and then it went downhill from there.
We are all libertarians at heart, else we wouldn't be here - whether we have allegiance to one party or another is secondary.
Let's concentrate on getting Dr. Paul elected....there's plenty of people concentrating that he doesn't
Peace.
Can't we all just get along as Republicans for now
We need to stay united. Divided by running as Independent, Libertarain or whatever only divides us. Ron has said, and I think very specifically, may times, that he will continue to run as a republican.
So far I like
Christine Smith. http://christinesmithforp...
I think "the revolution" should support someone that is actually running for president - if she is the LP's nominee. sure it is a no win, but at least there is someone to vote for that you won't have to feel guilty about.
Does this mean ..
Does this mean that, in the unlikely event that Ron doesnt win in St Paul, you wont be jumping in to join that other "revolutionary movement" :)
As a member of the LNC
I take offense to the people who say they don't care. The Libertarians have supported Dr. Paul's efforts as far as they can without crossing FEC guidelines, offering their ballot base up to grassroots, and being as helpful as possible. When the Republicans nominate McPoopstain, the LNC will be glad to welcome any Ron Paul revolutionaries into the Libertarian Party, and we are glad to reach across the aisle to work with liberty loving republicans and democrats. I hope that the future finds us all feeling more inclusive, especially to an organization that has your back, 100%.
Problem is
By then we will only have a month and a half till the elections. WAKE UP PEOPLE this is not enough time to mount a 3rd party campaign.
Agreed
The Libertarians have actually done WAY more than I would have expected. You're my new party as soon as this election cycle is over.
I'm just DONE with the Reps and Dems. Except for RP, they all sound just alike to me.
Thanks for keepin' the home-fires burning.

NOTA
The Libertarian Party, - I would suggest should do NOTA - none of the above for President & then endorse Dr. Paul - the LP should if members want to run as Libertarians in State & local offices & I would encourage our members to vote for them or Constitutional Party candidates & if Dr. Paul didn't get the GOP nomination - I'd write him in.
Who cares?
Running as a Libertarian is political suicide.
Running as Noelle is political suicide and stupidity.
You sound like one of those Fox-pert twits we deal with on the blogs all the time.
"Welcome to 2008: The Year of Ron Paul!"
Actually
she sounds like she has been through the third party ordeal as I have. Third parties will result in much effort and time with very little results because the big 2 parties make all the rules.
Who cares?
The LP is of NO consequence. We are going to write in Dr. Paul's name.
Absolutely!
We know who the best candidate is and any other vote is a vote for the status quo. If RP coulds come in third as a write-in, I believe that would be very noteworthy.
Shut up, Jane. I'm sick of your crap.
I ran as one once and saved my local school district taxpayers $46M in the process. Don't you dare tell me the LP is of no consequence.
Maybe you ought to get out of your GOP Kool-Aid induced coma and see what is really going on here. This movement is a lot more than about the dying GOP, and disparaging other parties that bring a lot of assistance to the table here is the wrong thing to do. Remember that YOUR party is as much to blame for the mess this nation is in as the Democrats, and libertarians aren't, so don't go bitching about us when your own house is the one with the blood on its hands.
"Welcome to 2008: The Year of Ron Paul!"
Draft Ron Paul!
Ron said he would NOT run as a third party candidate. HOWEVER, the Libertarians could still nominate him as their candidate. The Conservative and Liberal Parties of New York do this all the time. If if Dr. Paul chose not to campaign as a Libertarian, he'd still be on the ballot, GOP nomination or not. I wouldn't spend a lot of time on this, but you could suggest it to your Libertarian friends.
Not so.
According to the LP National Bylaws as they now stand, he'd have to show interest in the nomination. By ruling out third-party runs completely, Dr. Paul has taken himself out of the running in Denver.
I think that's a tactical blunder for a lot of reasons (which does NOT mean I wanted him to forsake the GOP for third-parties--I wanted BOTH as a fusion candidate!), but nevertheless that's his decision.
"Welcome to 2008: The Year of Ron Paul!"
They Can Always Change the Bylaws
Since Ron Paul is a former Libertarian Party presidential candidate, they might reconsider their bylaws, particularly if other former presidential candidates encouraged them to do so.
True, but it's a little more complicated than that
It also depends on the program ordering, the vote numbers on sucha proposal, and a couple of other technical thigns I won't bore you with.

I would vote for Bob Barr if
I would vote for Bob Barr if he were to be the Libertarian nominee, assuming of course Ron was not the GOP nominee. I would consider voting for the libertarian nominee if it were someone other than Bob Barr, again assuming Ron was not the GOP nominee, if that person were pro-life.
If Ron was not the nominee of any party and the Libertarian nominee is a nut I will vote for either McCain or Huckabee as the GOP nominee, because being pro-life is my top priority.
I am pro-life too, however
I would never vote for people who say that they are pro-life while they support war, because a pro-war position is not pro-life. You cannot say you are pro life and be pro-death at the same time. If you are pro-life then you are pro all life, including the lives of our soldiers and the Iraqi people.
I think Bob Barr is a good guy, along with James Trafficant.
I think Bob Barr is a good guy, along with James Trafficant.
Are you serious???!!!
How can you even consider voting for McCain?
Collectivism is slavery.
How did you come up with this question?
I see no implication in the original post that anyone would vote for McCain?
