June 21 has everything going for it -

Ron Paul suggested 3 to 4 months from now, if you listen to his recent video closely he is obviously trying to send a clear message to the delegates and to the Republican National Convention - (no talk about trying to influence late primaries).

School is out, graduation ceremonies are over.

It's a weekend. (I know some people think it would be better to do this when congressmen et. al are at work, but I believe it's the NUMBERS and media attention which are most important here.)

The ratification of the US Constitution is a great day - not a holiday, nothing to compete with, yet carries great significance.

What does April 15th have going for it?

It's tax day - and Ron Paul wants to get rid of the IRS.

What does April 15th have going against it?

ALOT !

It's not on a weekend - people have to work.

People are busy getting their tax returns finished.

Young people are in school.

Less time to get this organized.

It's a month sooner than Ron Paul's suggested time frame. (I'm assuming he is most interested in sending a clear message to the delegates at the convention in September - since that was what he talked about.)

So, who is taxday08, by what bizarre reasoning did they decide that April 15th was a good day to do this, and where do they get off deciding this and broadcasting to the world that "it's already decided !" ???

So many reasons this is a bad day to do this. You'll be lucky to get half of the turnout.

Sorry for my cr@ppy attitude, but this "decision" to have it on April 15th was hasty and fails to consider many important issues, IMHO.

Ron Paul said 'three or four months' in his video. Not only will we have more time to organize, kids will be out of school making it easier for those of us who would have to schedule around that, as a previous poster already mentioned.

almost Spring---first day of Summer!! But that is good for families with kids in school and college students and teachers. Gives us time to organize buses, motels, permits........

It simply has to be a *Spring* Day. ;-)

It is about the future of our nation and maintaining the constitution. June 21 is a great day for that and will get a lot more people out for it.

It would be a waste to do this after the May primaries. There are a lot of primaries in May. Get it together--let's do this April 19th.

June 21st would be a great day! My wife teaches school and will still have to be there on the weekend of June 7th. By the 21st, everyone is out of school, it's a Saturday, so most people would be off from work, and it has some significance (Constitution Day). In any case, I'll be there no matter what day is chosen. It's only a couple hour drive for me.

Isn't that about when the good doctor's book hits the shelves? Double Whammy and we could "make our own day"; otherwise, I'd vote for June 21st because IT IS all about the Constitution.

May 25th, It is late enough for College students who are big supporters of Ron and right before the last primaries. April is too early June is too late. And it is memorial day weekend will show the support from the vets and the military..come on folks! It is the right day.

Think about it: Where is Dr. Paul in the political spectrum? Smack in the middle of the statist (northern mentality) neocons and the states-rights (southern mentality) constitutionalists, but still clinging to the party of the north.

What about April 15, it's a Tuesday, Tax Day, what could be better than that? A large part of what we are protesting is the IRS and Taxes.

The amount and whereabouts of the nations gold reserves - which are in question - goes to the heart of the problems in Washington and the nation ie the printing of money out of thin air, so this is the ideal weekend ie Sat April 19 to send a massive message to Congress while at the same time bringing attention to Anybody Seen our Gold and the finances of the country. It allows 2 months to plan and spring blossoms should be in the air. Dr Paul may also speak at this conference.

The Constitution protects our freedoms. This would be the perfect day to bring the Revolution Together.

It seems like a good idea in some ways, but it doesn't have much impact compared to other dates.

The constitution is just a body of laws -- laws meant to serve the people.

It's the people that the constitutions works through.

I think Memorial Day capitalizes on the HUMAN element of struggle and we can relate to soldiers who are donors and our sincere pledge to end the war in Iraq.

Also Memorial day would hit the entertainment industry where it hurts and any movie planned for that weekend would lose out.

I can just seem them scrambling around trying to plot this day.

The best day would ideally be Independence Day, but sadly I think firecrackers and people's plans might mess things up a little.

Still, it would be the best day to get a real American out there to march and symbolically represent a new Indepedence from the government.

Thus, the Revolution finally comes to an anointed fruition -- a baptism of the ages if you will.

...which lists the various dates suggested to hold the march, so we can know what most of us want/need. I think JUNE is better since kids will be off school and as we know, the Revolution is made up largely by the YOUTH. Calling a computer wiz to post poll, please.

TAX DAY March Aganist Taxes!

Forget that it's hot, wear sleeveless shirts, tanks, bring some water - guys, this is picnic. Waddayamean hot?!

This movement is all about the Constitution. And MAKING THEM OBEY IT!

THIS "Contract with America" was signed and sealed and delivered over 200 years ago.

It is MOST fitting that we assemble together on the anniversary of the DATE that the Constitution went into effect legally, and call all of Washington D.C. to account for their many past breaches of that contract, and notify them that we want that contract, Our Constitution to be OBEYED.

We have a right to petition, and we will deliver our grievances in PERSON.

So that out of the way places can participate - While the focus is Washington, we could include out of the way places (like Alaska ??) and even overseas maybe.

There should also be a way to get an official count, so the media cannot downplay it.

As far as a date, anytime in June I think would be good - too much earlier and there is no time to organize and prepare such a big event.

There's no point if it's AFTER all the primaries!

I like April 13 because it is the Sunday before Tax Day - and before the last primaries.

I may be a vegetarian, but I'll defend to the death my right to eat pork!
