July 4th is a zoo in Washington, D.C. We could get a million people to show and we'd be drowned out by the festivities.
It's not a practical date...it's too late, 5 months may as well be 6, the last primary is June 3rd!
Holidays are NOT good. People have vacations planned and families make arrangements to be with one another on Memorial Day and July 4th.
They are not practical dates...they are too far away, and our voices will be diminished in Washington, D.C. if we are amongst hundreds of thousands of people out to enjoy the day...Memorial Day is a Monday, and people have to work on Tuesday. Alot of people don't even get Memorial Day off. July 4th is out of the question, it's pie in the sky politics.

The poll does not even list either of the two dates I understand Ron Paul himself suggested. Both sounded reasonable.
Shouldn't Paul and his closest advisers choose the dates for our selection? They should have better marketing knowledge, as well as busy schedules to consider as well.

This must be on the weekend when people are off from work
so that more people can attend. We must make it as easy for everybody as we can. Ron said not to wait too long and June is way too long from now. So around April would be best. Maybe May. But no later. It won't be too cold or too hot around that time. Also Donate to the campaign NOW!

hear me out Everyone that lives two days away leaves on the 15th of April. We start this migration to DC with tax day the day that every person in this country gets robbed. This will start the movement of people to DC we drive for two days others can fly in when they wish. We hold the rally on the 18th its a friday It is a business day so our voice will be heard. On friday at midnight we have a Paul Revere cerimony to bring the Rally to a close and the next morning On April 19th We all exit DC and go back to our villages to revive the Revolution and take the message back to our cities to the warning of the coming threat of tyrrany. April 19th is a very important day in our history and it goes perfect with this movement.

This gives everyone within two days 2 days drive to Rally Rally on the 18th and two day drive home.

Remember that April 19 was also the Waco incident that showed a lot of people how evil and corrupt our government actually is. The Oklahoma City bombing was timed for the same day to make a point, so I don't know how that would be construed by the media.

The logistics of having this in April makes it impossible. Anyone that says otherwise has never worked in group logistics or supply.

Just to reiterate - "something somebody said they heard on AJ's show" is no way to make this decision. And until Dr. Paul posts an official release from HQ announcing July 4, we MUST assume it is not a workable date - too much already going on in DC and too easy to be lost in the holiday crowd of red, white, and blue flag waving sheeple.

It can be absolutely brutal in DC come July. If millions show, hundreds or even thousands could risk heat stroke, dehydration, etc.
April 19th is a safer bet for weather. It should be beautiful in DC for springtime.
July 4th is a holiday weekend - the message and the march will get lost in the sauce. People will see us marching and assume it's something patriotic. It is not our day. The 4th is a day to remember our independence, and it is a day for our families, friends, backyard bbq's, fireworks, beer and food. The 4th is not OUR day....we'll get lost in the sauce if we do this over a holiday weekend.

Let's keep this march on a weekend day so that those of us with kids in school, along with those of us who can't easily miss work, can attend.

The 13th of April is on a Sunday...leaving me no room to get back for work on Monday.
I run my own business, and cannot take "vacation" time.
Most people have Saturday and Sunday off.
Saturday, April 19th would be perfect for the most people - and that's the goal.
People can leave Friday after they get out of work, arrive in Washington D.C. on Saturday, leave Saturday night or early Sunday and get back in time for work on Monday.
That is practical. April 19th is the date of the 233rd anniversary of the original American Revolution. FDR took America off the gold standard on April 19th. It is OUR day. It won't be too hot, like it will be in July. April 19th is right before the remainder of the primary and caucus races!
There is no more fitting day for the Revolution to march on Washington, D.C. than Saturday, April 19th 2008.

I only saw one date on there that would interfere with school for those of us that have kids in school. I think we should make sure we pick a date that can include as many people as possible. But another thing, is Ron Paul leaving it up to us for the date? I am wondering if he will propose a date? Does anyone have an "in" with headquarters to find out if he had a date in mind?

I think April 19th gives us the best shot to really make a difference in the election. I fear that anything after June 3rd - the final primary - will not matter. The primary/caucuses will be over after June 3rd.
April 19th is the original date of the American Revolution.
It is OUR DAY. It's also the anniversary date of when FDR forced America off the gold standard. How fitting.
April 19th is on a Saturday, more than 2 months away. This gives us plenty of time to organize. A Saturday also provides for enough time for people to travel...get out of work Friday, arrive in Washington on Saturday, leave Sunday and get home in time for work on Monday.
Memorial Day is not good because it is its own day...not ours. There will be other events going on that day to pay respect to our dead. It is on a Monday, many people do not get off for this holiday, and most people have to work on Tuesday.
If you want large numbers, a Saturday is ideal - and NOT over a holiday weekend. People have already planned family trips and vacations for Memorial Day. There are too many things going on that weekend, and I fear our message would get lost in the sauce.

That's why we need April 15th
A lot of planning and spreading word has already gone into April 15th...I actually received an international letter asking me to help spread April 15th to help make this a global stand.
MANY countries plan to stand w/ us on April 15th. All we would have to do is change the location to Washington.
It's going to be a hardship to get to/from Washington no matter when we choose...at least people are already prepearing for an April 15th STAND, which in it's very nature contains some hardship. We are already preparing for April 15th...please help support it. Here is a list of reasons why.
Why April 15:
1. We NEED people to realize the tax/federal reserve problem. That is why the stand on April 15th was created.
2. We NEED people to remember our stand against the unlawful taxation and the evils of the Federal Reserve...seriously. We NEED that in the history books. We NEED people to remember the huge taxation and the
economic instability from the Federal Reserve.
3. We are already working on a MASSIVE international strike/march for April 15th. (In fact, I received an international email pushing for April 15th this morning....SEVERAL countries are already planning events around April 15th and request that we have our major stand on that day so that it lines up w/ their stand so it can be WORLDWIDE!!!)
4. April 15th is before at least 8 states vote!!
5. It is neither too soon nor too far out (enough time to make travel plans, but not enough for the energy to peter-out)
6. We already have the websites setup to take pledges.

12. The meadia will either cover us or the lines at the Post Office...seriously, we have a chance to grab media attention BEFORE the states are finished voting!
13. It won't be TOO hot, especially for those of us not used to DC-type heat. (summer=a lot of people w/ heat exhaustion...April 15th is late enouh we won't freeze, but early enough the sun won't cook us)
14. People will be getting their Theft Day refund...to use towards funding an anti-Theft rally!
15. It will keep people more tightly focused because we all know this event, and it can/will be used to advance using loosely related agendas.

I like April 19th. It's a Saturday, so a lot of college kids can still make it. It's better that tax day, because our Revolution is about much more than taxes. And, it's just enough time to plan, but not too far in the future. It's just enough time for the enthusiasm for this march to peak.

Here is one more reason July 4th, and Memorial Day are not good days for the rally, in my opinion. Family gatherings. The great majority of people have family get togethers on those dates, and people will feel torn between family and the rally.
