Ok, I set up a poll. Go here and answer - there is no date set, but it is to gauge who actually would travel to DC.
The poll ends on February 22 - Washington's birthday.
This poll also maps where you are from - so we can track how different parts of the country answer - this is VERY IMPORTANT to gauge how big a turnout there will be!
So far East Coasters will go, but West of the Mississippi is more iffy. Please tell the truth - We DO NOT need False Hope based on inaccurate information!

Ok, I've been reading through WAY too many of the various posts about the March on Washington DC.
Our problems are three-fold:
1) The date
2) The costs of getting there
3) Some people fear a "Woodstock" or liberal-like outcome, and therefore will not even show up.

This march MUST happen BEFORE the primaries are over. The Pennsylvania primary is on April 22. I will be very pissed off if we waste our chance of helping Ron Paul win his home state.
We CANNOT trust that the Huckster will stay in all the way to the convention - if he drops out before all the primaries are over, we are screwed and marching won't do a darned thing!
You KNOW that McInsane is doing his best to get Huckabuck to quit.

The Solution:
The DATE is more important than the PLACE!
Washington DC represents FASCISM! Federal Government TYRANNY!
We believe in STATES RIGHTS!!!
Therefore we must organize ONE DAY for marches ACROSS the COUNTRY!
This eliminates the cost of transportation and the problems with people not being able to take off from work or school.
This will give us both LOCAL and NATIONAL Press Coverage!
If every state chooses one big city (like the State Capital), then everyone can make it and have a big turnout at the same time!
We just need to decide on 51 cities (50 + Washington DC), the DATE and TIME.
Everyone knows what the biggest city in their state is. Let's decide on ONE DAY for every state to march in Unison!
Washington DC can be the location for all the people who live in the middle of the East Coast - from Delaware to Georgia. That will still be a big turnout - but those people can get there within 3 hours.

I suggest April 12th or 13th - the Saturday or Sunday before Tax Day (April 15 is a Tuesday - no good).
It is not too soon, since people will not have to book flights or bus tickets. It is still 1.5 months away!
This is before the Pennsylvania Primary.
Some people have said they will not attend a march on a Sunday for religious reasons, so perhaps Saturday the 12th is best.
April 19th will not have the same impact - it will be after Tax Day, and the impact will be gone.
12pm-3pm in each time zone would be cool, since it will be like a big "Wave of Liberty" across the country.
It can't start too early or end too late because most people will be driving in right before it (up to 5 hours) and then driving home after.
EVERYONE in the Country can relate to a Tax Day Protest!
Especially since most of them will be filing their tax returns and sending Uncle Sam their hard-earned money at the last minute - they will cheer us on!
This will bring the focus of Ron Paul's campaign to the ECONOMY!
Huckabuck has been stealing Ron Paul's platform more and more everyday. It's time we TAKE IT BACK!!!

April 15=State Capital Day
On April 15th, we are trying to get as many people to as many State Capital Buildings as we possibly can.
For those of you unfamiliar, April 15th is being crowned "Theft Day" and we are having a major stand against the unlawful taxation imposed by the IRS and the fiat economy manipulated by the Federal Reserve. (Please visit LibertyTax08.com for more information)
That said, a national gathering to show our numbers is also necesary. I know that times are tough. We ALL have reasons that it will be hard to go to Washington...but we must NOT give up.
To address the financial concern as an example:
Right now, you have the opportunity to scrimp & save to pay for a trip to Washington.....or, you can pay tenfold that amount in taxes later.
...there are MANY other issues.
The bottom line is that we have ONE CHANCE!
We CANNOT let this go. We CANNOT allow our one chance to save this country to slip away....no matter what the cost.
WE are now soldiers. In an army no one sees, fighting a battle no one believes in.
The times are rough...they may get tougher. But we MUST prevail.

This march on DC isn't going to affect the results of the primaries. The media isn't going to cover it... and if they do, it will have a heavy spin on it.
We need to get real and understand that this Revolution is not about getting media attention. It is all about doing away with the MSM and showing the country and the world that change is still possible, through the hard work of good 'ol American patriots.
The march on Washington marks the official declaration of this Revolution.

Not about Primaries
I think April 19th is too early (also too close to Hitler's b-day and Columbine and 420--pot-day) I think June 21st is better. Constitution Day---good connotations. School is out---good for families and college students. First day of summer, should be warm but not blistering hot.
However, I believe Ron is going to have an opinion on this, so I'll wait. Incidentally no date is easy for me, my kids will be in school, we have to fly from Central America (more time to save money is better), and I will need to organize a scooter or wheelchair as I can't walk down the block (but I really need one anyway)
I think the point is to get massive attention and influence uncommitted/undecided delegates. Not to try and get a few more popular votes. Congressmen will notice our numbers. This is not canvassing your neighborhood, this is sending a LOUD message to Washington and the GOP.

April 12th is within the time frame...
that Dr.Paul prescribed. That does not leave much time to organize a national march on Washinton. Memorial Day would be better I believe for a march in D.C.
Supporters that live within a 12 to 14 hour drive of D.C. could solve most of the "time" and "money" problems by pulling their resources together. They could charter a bus or rent a van and car pool and share in fuel. This would allow people within the 12 to 14 hour driving range to leave on the evening of April 12th and be home on the afternoon on the 14th. There you go! Most of the time and money problem solved!
Those outside the 12 to 14 hour range of D.C. could also pull their resouces to deal with the time and money problem but it will cost them more money. But that problem can be solved by a Freedom-a-thon. Those who want to go can collect money from sponsors who "cannot" go but who want to be represented! So, they can donate a few bucks to sponsor someone to go and protest for them. A Freedm-A-Thon! Better than Jerry Lewis could ever do it! Problem solved. Good Night Now.

If you only knew my financial situation.... I'm tellin' you, I'm not doing well at all. But I'm going to be there, probably with a bunch of other poor people who care about liberty. It's only a six hour drive for me, so not as much of a burden. We homeschool, so we're going to use it as an opportunity to educate our two oldest boys as well. We'll probably stay the whole weekend (hoping it's July 4th).

Help with money!
May I suggest that you pull your resources together with other people who want to attend and share in the transportation cost...rent a Van and split the cost...or if enough people charter a bus or lease a school bus!
To get money you may see if you can find people who want to see change in Washington but who cannot go to a rally there. Let them "sponsor" you to go and represent them in D.C. Twenty sponsors giving $20.00 each is $200.00 You may even make money on the deal. Just a thought. I hope it helps or at least gets you thinking...of the possibilities...because Everything Is Possible!

I'm in DFW, Texas. I'd gladly march on Austin, the capitol, but not DC. I'll be more likely to get friends and family to go, and I'd rather save gas and keep my tourist dollars at home.

I also made the suggestion of having a money bomb announcing the coming March On D.C. I submitted it to the Daily Dose's Dan, saying it would be a fundraiser, an advertisement, and a motivator. That assumes it would be a record-breaker. : )

Reading your comments more carefully, I see you're suggesting the money bomb be held on the same day as the march. That wasn't what I was suggesting. My idea was to have the bomb earlier than the march -- a loud trumpet announcing an important event.

July 4. If the march is scheduled for that place and time I and my family will definitely attend. Otherwise, it's just another waste of time. You all will spend an unbelievable amount of time disecting this to death instead of taking his suggestions and working to make it happen as he envisions it.

I think that a march on D.C. would concentrate the numbers in one area, for a much more visible, more effective march/rally which would be more difficult to ignore than several smaller ones in scattered cities.

Your poll didn't have a selection for what I would choose. The closest was the state march, but I feel a regional march makes more sense. I like the idea of 3 locations; DC, Las Vegas and Chicago. It could provide the following outcomes;
1. Easier to get to and less costly to participate.
2. Large enough crowds would be noticed by the media which gives news in all 3 regions thus promoting the upcoming primaries. (Especially if the April 19th date is chosen.)
3. More people would be able to attend a regional march than just doing it at D.C.

Obviusly, it sounds like you will not go to DC - that is important to know.
The map tracks where you are located - that alone provides a great deal of info - the more concentrated response areas can maybe lead to "regional" marches.
