July 4th is a bad idea.
1. It's a Friday, so traveling the day before will require a day off of work for those of us with jobs.
2. It's going to be crowded, and the media will not be able to get an accurate number for us. You may think they'll assume 'OMG EVERYONE IS THERE FOR RON PAUL' but it's more likely you'd get the opposite effect, them ignoring the Ron Paul marchers.
3. It's likely that local merchants will mark everything up for the holiday weekend.

Someone at ronpaulforums.com spoke with campaign HQ. They have groups reviewing dates with the most impact, and Dr. Paul will pick one.

Apparently you've never been in DC on July 4th. Way too crowded, and you could never get a permit for July 4th.
