Looks more like Ron Paul wants the March on Washington, D.C. to be on 4th of July

That it is impossible to give this many people a choice on a date. No date will please everyone. There is just no way. So he has someone looking for location and checking permits. So they will tell us the date they come up with and that is excellent. We don't have to worry about it, which is good, cause we can't come to concensus anyway.

Hot and muggy -- that is Washington in July. We'll have old people and little kids getting heat stroke. April, May, early June at the latest. Avoid Monday, May 26 and Friday, July 4, as people will not want to march during a national holiday. Please consult the following for ideas. Consider the theme, the date, and the day of the week.

My personal favorite is Magna Carta Day - Sunday, June 15. Not too hot, and being on a weekend, a lot of people could participate. How about submitting a New Magna Carta to King George and asking him to sign it -- without any "signing statements."

The longer this goes the more the supporters despair.
The longer this goes with the news blackout has more effect and the smaller we are.
Huckachuck will finish on March 10th (?) so he can be propelled into that Senator job he wants. He'll never be VP to McInsane, for any profit. McInsane has democratic party supporters coming out in droves. Going for Senator is a win. McInsane will be blamed for the GOP failure.
The neocons know the Dems will win. They have their people in place.
What they don't want is Ron to unify the GOP as a small government etc etc Goldwater/Reagan model. They are terrified he gets popular support.

If we march we stamp our Revolution message on the new GOP re-made.
Paul an beat Hillary. Hillary MUST be stopped so the Bush/Clinton dynasty's can be stopped.

Listen carefully to Ron. We are taking on the international bankers, the corporate military machine, the two party only system and the lobby groups, trying to win our country back for we the people.
All these groups need we the people, since our labor makes their wealth.
They don't want us educated.
They want to dictate in the media how we think. How we vote.

LATEST: On MSNBC they say McInsane can't lock the GOP nomination until April. Muckachuck will bow out so he can be sentator. So McInsane and Ron are left in the run.

Now you know that many Dems hate Hillary and Independents go towards Paul. Paul can win! He can't be swift boated.

So we need a march on Washington.

I was in the UK for business when the was a march that brought down Margret Thatcher. They were families with kids and babies and strollers against a new tax. Hot heads started a fight with the police. But the image of families protesting and being charged by armed mounted police, did Margret in. The country said this wasn't the government they wanted to live under!
That's why Ron said it was dangerous.

So we march, we support, we walk the streets, run for office.
We win our country back.
Screw the rest of the world. It becomes their problem.
And when they see how well we did, - they will become RP supporters too! (As many are).

I'm sure Memorial Day will have plenty of events too (military stuff, etc.). So I think (notice I didn't say "I say" because I'm not the Decider) it should be a neutral date, or maybe a significant date (fairly soon) that isn't so majorly big.

Not going to work folks get over the 4th of July thing. Seriously. It is not going to work they have things planned there way ahead of time. It is one of the most busy days for the capitol. Memorial day is busy enough but that is a perfect time. Not to early not to late.

4th is not a good idea ... too many people have plans and plan to be with family .. it would conflict way too much

DC is packed on the 4th. The metro-rail will be full all day.If you wait for the fireworks you won`t be able to get OUT of town.We have the 2nd or 3rd worst traffic year after year(L.Aalways 1st,DC and Atlanta fight for second). There will be no vacancies at any hotels.No place to park anywhere.

I personally like Memorial Day,close to 100K bikers and veterans come to town,I thought I read that the founder of Rolling Thunder endorsed Paul.

D.C. is highly controlled. Unlike the 60's you don't just pick a date.

It goes through the City, D.C. Police, National Parks, Secret Service, Sanitation, Mass Transit and EMS. They all have to agree to it. There are monthly meetings with about 50 department heads at City Hall for 3 months leading up to the event.

And there are D.C. sponsored events (fireworks - symphony etc.) going on.

Now that doesn't mean we should avoid D.C. By all means we should try to get a few thousand Ron Paul sign waivers -- the truckers for Paul and the protest truckers (NAU) to put on a show for all the tourists who will be in D.C. Lots of pick-up trucks.

I've done it for an event that drew 300,000 on the Mall Sept 2000 - Labor Day weekend. It's a whole different ballgame now since Rudy Giuliani Day '01.

"Independence Day" would be great. We should have plans for local or regional events on July 4th i.e. Independence Mall in Philly etc.

Memorial Day or a week later are the only days that work for me. But July 4 sounds reasonable too.

I am hoping for Memorial day (because I already have time off around it) but I will be there whenever it is decided!

July is probably best, because we'll all have our rebates by that time, and then NOBODY (well, almost nobody) can say they can't afford it.
