Deputy Dumps Man out of Wheelchair to Check Disability
I wish we could still defend ourselves. I would have used the full rights granted to me by the supreme court to stop this. We were granted the right to end a officers life in a unlawful arrest.
Dont belive me look it up. Or just research Tupac Shakur he shot two off duty officers that were harrasing a motorist. He took it to court and won but thats just a example.
Now we dont have any rights, If you even question a officer your asking for retilation.

Quadriplegics can legally drive
Many also retain the use of their arms and hands.

I lived with and assisted 2 quadriplegics several years ago and both had use of their arms and hands to some extent. After a lot of physical therapy one of them even became capable of using a manual wheelchair.
The other, whose injuries were more severe, had a van which was set up to accommodate his physical abilities. He was a better driver than 75% of the fully functional people I know.
The video was incredibly disturbing. The part that may have bothered me the most was the manner in which the officers handled getting him back into the chair. They not only ignored his instructions on how to properly do it so he would not be injured in the process, but lifted him by the back of his shirt!
Once they got him in the chair they just left him.
In the video he is shown lifting his right foot onto it's platform and it continues to show him unsuccessfully attempting to place his left foot on it's platform and is never offered assistance. He was still struggling to do so as the video ended.
the shocking part was how
the shocking part was how they left him there after finding out he was. Proceded to search him and handle business as usual. Then they proceded to treat him like dirt. His pants were falling off and they refused to help him.
No matter how you try to justify it, its flat out wrong.
Its just like this

Watch Good Morning America
tomorrow 2-13 if you want to see more of this stuff. I just saw a commercial on what they will be showing about police abuse.
really sucks to be young in a chair
He prob has some attitude on him because of it. People don't expect young people to be disabled--even worse if they are good looking. I have ms and I always get 'those looks' when I get the assistance at the airport even from the old ladies--guess they figure I'm just would rather ride.
It will get worse with a stronger Homeland Security police state.
Just FYI
The Supreme Court doesn't grant any rights. No Government institution can grant rights. If they could, they could also take them away.
Rights are inherent.
Even the phrase "Constitutional Rights" is dangerous unless you mean the rights expressly recognized in the Bill of Rights. The Constitution doesn't grant our rights, it establishes a government that is supposed to defend them.
We have rights, therefore we give government privileges.
well said
Even in the midst of overwhelming opposition it is comforting to be surrounded by so many who actually understand that :)
Horribly disgusting!
WTF?!! That deputy is a scumbag and I hope she's charged! The others, seen watching, roaming about in the frames of the video are also responsible, in my opinion. It looks like this poor guy's pants even fell down when he was dumped- add that humiliation at the hands of a female "deputy" to the rest of it.
One small problem I have with this story- which in no way negates the horror or severity of the crime against this victim- is the use of the word "quadriplegic." This victim clearly has use of his arms, as seen on the video, and in an interview he even states that he can't "feel anything from here (makes motion at chest height) down." That makes him paraplegic, not quadriplegic. Also, Para's can legally drive motor vehicles, which was apparently the reason for his moving violation and being there- while Quads cannot.
About Par
From my experience with police in my 40 some od years of life.
Theres a reason the phrase
Theres a reason the phrase "F *ck the police" was invented at some point.
That's an injustice to the police
Each of us is an individual and I'm sure there are many police officers here on this site who support Ron Paul.
It is not fair to characterize an individual by the group they belong to or the job they do. (You've probably heard of "the good Samaritan;" well, everybody despised them, but look who helped.)
Many police officers are with us and take their oaths of office seriously.

police
brutlstrudl says- In the end, the police will do what they always have done and that is what they are told. Give someone a gun and the authority to use it, and they are changed
It was a joke. My father is
It was a joke. My father is a firefighter and I have an uncle who is a police officer. Of course all police officers are not bad people, but I have noticed a certain arrogance about my uncle.. I have seen him act totally out of line when on duty, and I would think stop being an dick. I think it has to do with their job. When you deal with the bad all day long, over time everyone becomes a suspect, and then they often handle situations wrongly and no longer protect the innocent. There has been times when a simple question such as help with directions becomes a self incriminating interrogation. I would say that these people may be good people but when given the power when they partake in the "duty" they often over react and act out of line... causing the phrase "f*uck the police" not the individual, if that makes any sense.
Only if
your "coming straight from the underground". :O)
Sickening
It just makes me want to scream at the world to wake up, where's the humanity and compassion for each other :-(
