Virginia results

The State site is well ahead of CNN:

https://www.voterinfo.sbe...

With 46% reporting, McCain is pulling away from Huckabee.

VA is a winner take all state, so winner by a single vote wins all the delegates.

The numbers are screwy

The numbers are not right one county just showed 97% of the vote and McCain with 93% and Huck with no votes.
I don't like Huck but I know that can't be possible.

bump to keep the link up!

More people are voting against McCain than for him

Looks like McCain would have lost if Romney and Paul weren't on the ballot.

RON PAUL

RON PAUL FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MCNASTY"S lead just dropped

MCNASTY"S lead just dropped to 20k from 27K????

IS Huckaberry bringn a comeback LOL!!!!!!!!

CRAP just went up to 30k I

CRAP just went up to 30k
I was gettin all excited!!!!

Come on Ron, win the Last 15 percent possible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RP 2008!!!!!!!

probably nothing, but

RP is almost exactly 10% of Huck's vote. Watch, very strange

http://www.cnn.com/ELECTI...

74% Reporting

Huckabee 144,618
Paul 14,618

What are the chances of that being two random numbers?

HAHAHA Rudy Gulianis numbers

HAHAHA

Rudy Gulianis numbers are exactly 1/2 of Fred Thompsons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's not 10%

The missing digit is the SECOND digit, not the last. It's 9.8-something percent.

Funny coincidence, but not 10%.

?

Weren't all 3 pretty much in a dead heat in the polls yesterday, or was that DC?

Steve Stratton
Proud member of the R3VOLution

STATE just updated to 83%

STATE just updated to 83% and MCNASTY has a big 26 k lead hmmmm.
I KNOW ABOUT THE LIBERAL CITY FOLK!

Sorry the sate is at 80%

Sorry the sate is at 80%

A SHAM! Huck had it in the bag - then BOOM McInsane Wins!

I may be a vegetarian, but I'll defend to the death my right to eat pork!

Had it in the bag???

His biggest lead was something like 500 or 1000 votes in a state with over 300,000 voters.

If you watch the New York Times map ( http://politics.nytimes.c... ) it's pretty clear what happened -- Huckabee won the rural areas (smaller, reported first) and McCain won the urban areas (more votes to count, reported later).

HAHAHAHA

Every time that the polling percentage goes up now.... the margin that MCNASTY has over HUCKABERRRY is exactly 11k

You clearly haven't been watching for very long

When it all started McCain was losing by 500 votes around 15% reporting. I can assure you that as the reports have moved from west to east across the state (rural -> urban) the percentages have changed pretty significantly.

And now 27,000 vote lead

Most recent update (80%) has McCain with a 27,000-vote lead.

yes I saw all that , and I

yes I saw all that , and I knew that it was going to be close, I just mean that after the 62% that the state stopped at CNN is keeping MCNASTY 11k ahead of Huckleberry NOW. I think they are pulling it out of thier butts!

It just boggles my mind to

It just boggles my mind to think that people would vote for either mccain or huckabee. Both are democrats in elephant clothing. I am beginning to think the only thing that will wake people up to what is going on in the world is for America to totally collapse. Then these same bozo`s who vote for mccain and huck will say "duh i didnt see this coming".......

How in the world can we get accurate results?

Let's see, the MSM is ignoring Ron Paul, and/or the vote count machines are changing the numbers, the vote counts are hidden from the public, so how do we know how Ron Paul or any other candidate we support is truly doing? If we go to the state and county GOP's, they can lie to us too.

Is CNN making up everything

Is CNN making up everything past 62% cause the State site is stuck there!!!

CNN has phones

It's possible that the state webmaster isn't the same person as the state vote counter. CNN might be able to call the state GOP and get results, even if the webmaster is still struggling.

yeah but it totally stopped

yeah but it totally stopped all together!

This doesn't make sense

8,500 people showed up to hear Ron Paul speak last weekend in Virginia at the Liberty University.

Are you telling me that in the whole state of Virginia there was only about 1,000 more people that voted for Ron Paul?

Liberty

I was there that day. What you are missing is that 7,000 of those people were students that are required to attend the chapel service that Dr. Paul spoke at.

Alas, I'm starting to get

Alas, I'm starting to get used to that. Look at Minnesota.

Dirty Cnn is giving him all

Dirty Cnn is giving him all the delegates, doubt that will happen!!!!!!!!!!!!

CNN says one *vote* difference

CNN is saying that if McCain beats Huckabee by a *single vote*, he "gets all delegates".

Nothing about that having to be more than 50%-

Well, Then, That's A Different Story

Stupid rule, but I suppose it's their party. A McCain victory, so looks like a good night for the Dems.

That is accurate -- Virginia is PLURALITY

All you need to do to get every single Virginia delegate (bound for 1 round) is to win by a single vote. There's no need to take a majority.

dang sorry I messed up the

dang sorry I messed up the info then if the plurality is true

I Thought Huck Won The Exit Polls?

Oh well, it is the belly of the beast. I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

More ways to mislead

Exit polling depends on:
1) The location demographics and
2) Which voters are actually polled.

It looks like Huckabee got rural and McCain is getting metro.

That may also be why vote results are "stalled", if it's bigger cities that are being counted.

Then, again, someone could be having meetings to determine who should win and how:(

10 million dollars says that

10 million dollars says that cnn stops at 62% and doesnt update!!!!!!!!!!

You would think they would change up their M.O. a little

Pretty predictable. No one with half a brain would give you that bet.

lol, but alas they made up

lol, but alas they made up some numbers past 62% up to 64% so it looks like a bigger win!!!!

Someone missed out on 10 million dollars*

* I dont actually have the money cause I knew that it would stop!

link on this thread has been

link on this thread has been stuck at 62% for a while....
It was going up rather fast.... hmmmmm

CNN just gave it to MCNASTY!

CNN just gave it to MCNASTY! at 50% of polls... and I think it will be closer than they think!

Is It Winner Take All?

I've heard conflicting reports.

Winner take all, plurality

In Virginia, whichever candidate gets the most votes gets all the delegates. They do not need to get a majority.

Source

If one canidate gets a

If one canidate gets a majority then I think it is

Then I'm Not Worried

No way McCain gets a majority. Thanks for the info.

How many delegates?

How many delegates?

60

60

whoa

whoa

Yep

This is what happens in VA as of late. The northern Virginia precincts are always the last ones to be reported, and it also happens to be the only real stronghold of liberalism in the state. So, if it is close early, you can almost always count on the more liberal candidate pulling away and making it a blowout by the end of the night. Saw it with Webb/Allen, Kaine/Kilgore, etc. In 2004 it looked like Bush was going to win by 20% in VA, but before it was over with he only won by like 7% if I remember right. McCain will pull away and win easy tonight. I'm disappointed we couldn't get 10% tonight...I did my part.

Can we keep him under

Can we keep him under 50%????

We just have to hope that he

We just have to hope that he stays under 50% , If he gets a majority I think its winner take all

I've been trying to tell

I've been trying to tell people that perhaps it's better to vote for Huckabee to ensure that McCain doesn't get the delegates and help us get a brokered convention. It would be nice to deprive McCain Virginia's 60 delegates as well as continue to slow down his momentum.

From what I'm seeing on CNN, the race is close enough that our votes would have made the difference.

I've got my fingers crossed that Huckabee can still pull it out.

North and east still reporting - going McCain

Look at the county-by-county map on the NY Times site:

http://politics.nytimes.c...

(Click on Virginia)

The more populous DC suburbs in the north and east are leaning hard for McCain and are still reporting. McCain is going to take Virginia with a comfortable margin.
