The March on Washington

Go to www.restoretherepublic.co... and vote on which day you like best for the Ron Paul March on Washington. Dr. Paul stated he prefers the July 4th weekend but so far June 21st Constitution Day is leading.

This event will require at least 200-300 volunteers.

The 2 biggest jobs are;
1. Set-up/Tear down
2. Security

We need to support HQ. They will need all the help they can get. This is a risky proposition. Time for the best team players we have to step forward.

While a lot of weekends could be good for the walk, I want to point out that in order to get the numbers big enough to make an impression, there will need to be a lot of people coming from a long way away. We live in Oregon, and it is going to be a major undertaking for us, as it will be I'm sure for a lot of people.

Any date before school is out for the summer is going to make it hard for a lot of people with children to take the time. For that reason, I want to go on record suggesting the the 4th of July. We do not want to miss it, but if it is held on Memorial Day, we will have tons of time obligations here the week before and after, making it even harder to go, and preventing us from taking advantage of being in the nation's capitol for the first time, which would be nice after spending the money to go!

It would not be as difficult for everyone to get to their own state capitols during a weekend before school is out. I know time is of the essence. Perhaps we should consider the state marches as a lead-in to the big one in Washington? Just a thought. Either way we will be there!

These dates provide both symbolism and practicality. Other weekends in Washington will be described by MSM as mostly tourists to minimize our numbers. When our nonviolent Revolution arrives we want them to know how many we really are without leaving any doubt. The July 4th follow-up would probably be huge after Washington and give those at home an opportunity to join us to let MSM know our numbers continue to grow. Ron Paul Revolution media must secure our broadcast streaming over the internet to every available media outlet for simulcast to the world. It’s time to put up, show up, stand up and be counted like our founding fathers and mothers. I believe we could include the convoy from the west which would grow moving east and parade into Washington with over 1.5 million people in attendance. The July 4th Revolutionary Picnic easily could draw over 50,000 people to most state capitols that Friday and would force local and state media coverage through the weekend. It is not just about an election; it’s about restoring our God given Rights and the Constitution for our children. I believe we are many more than what we think or imagine. Truth is on our side and it is very powerful. It’s time for We The People to do what is Right for US and our children.

there is enough support for a 3rd party run??? That was my first thought when he suggested it. See how committed we are and how many we are, although only a fraction of the support will actually make it to DC, it will be an indication of how widespread and dedicated the support is. What say you???

What's the one thing that has never happend in all the history of riots/revolutions? the cops joining in on the protest. Policemen and women are humans too and Americans, and most of them are really good people just doing what they're told. unfortunately what they're told to do is to comepletely undermine the freedoms of American citizens who wish only to make our country better. I say, lets give them flowers or something, hell, give them beer if they ask for it. Just talk to them, speak to them individually and ask them who they serve. what is there mission? why did they join? Police officers swore to uphold the law, and the law is there to serve the people, so i ask you, i beg you, officers of washington D.C. to join us. just this once, join the people you serve and stand with them instead of opposed. You are us, we are you, there is no difference. If i have to take a few battons to the head to spread the message of freedom and peace, i will, but just this once could we all stand together, non-violent, in a rally of peace? I'm dreaming, aren't i? ...I just don't want to see anymore film of protesters flipping off cops and cops beating on civilians. What could be more pointless and unamerican than such violence and hate in a land where we should be united.

Is it illegal for someone to suggest that others storm the offices of a private business or two (or 6)?

I was reading a thread on Daily Paul earlier about a study of how large groups of people think. The study stated that it only takes about 5% of the population to change the direction of the rest of the 95%. So the population of the US is about 300 million, 5% of that is 15 million. The status quo knows that they only need to have riot police to control the rebellious 5% in order to control the 95%. So the march on Washington needs to have Ron Paul supporters showing up en masse. I don't know if we have 15 million RP supporters in the US. The march won't be effective if there are not enough people there. What do you guys think?

Don't you want to march on the capital when congress is in session? We have to send them a message and show them that we are serious!

That was the purpose of this March. We don't have time and we have to let "the powers that be" know we're not going to stand for it anymore.

But we also have to let them know that we stand behind Ron Paul & what he believes in. Remember, He wants to bring the troops home, abolish the ABC government institutions, the Patriot Act etc.

Therefore, There will be many demonstration signs that say "Bring Our Troops Home", "The media is corrupt"...etc.

what we need is to SEND A MESSAGE that thousands upon thousands are "marching on D.C." for many reasons!

Yes, RP can lead us, but we will be able to have many more people join us if we broaden our PURPOSE in MARCHING ON D.C., capische?

I'm not saying we can't have any RP for Pres. signs, yes, I see that we could have a FEW, but mostly our signs would be many of the following:

The WAR is an OCCUPATION
Stop the Occupation

D.C. is corrupt
The MEDIA is corrupt
The MEDIA is full of PROPAGANDA

etc. etc. etc. Get the point?

BECAUSE if we make this a HUGE RALLY for Dr. Paul, we're not coming, period, and we are AVID supporters since August and have given thousands of dollars personally. But, think about this:

I fear the MEDIA, if we just focus on RP signs, will dismiss this as just that, a RP rally, BUT if they just see MOSTLY ANTI-WAR, ANTI-SENTIMENT signs of all kinds, then, they will report it without the SLANT, see what I mean?

Where did the video go?

Dr. Paul’s video from February 12, 2008, emphasized the following points:

1). “We have to do something major.”
2). “Make a grand display to show what our numbers are”
3). “...send a powerful message where the media can’t ignore us”
4). “Were at a crossroads and we have to turn it around soon.”

What usually happens to news events that happen on Friday, Saturday and Sunday? What would happen to a March or rally that commences on a Holiday weekend? They get “buried” or they are not seen. Where will the general public be on Memorial Day weekend or over the 4th of July? If we were lucky enough to get a “blurb” or footnote in the MSM, who would see or notice it?

This March isn’t meant to be the proverbial “tree that fell in the forest”. We have to “send a powerful message where the media can’t ignore us.” We have to be seen and heard.

We must look at the importance of this event. What are we trying to accomplish? Are we marching to restore our liberties? Are we marching to let congress and the mainstream media know that this “Revolution” is a force to be reckoned with and should be taken seriously? Where are the congress and the MSM prime time reporters, radio talk show hosts, syndicated columnists over any weekend, much less a holiday weekend? .

Media and congressional attention requires a weekday march. Now everyone has been giving the usual “I have to work” cry. Did I miss something? The majority of employers offer “personal days” (usually 2-3), “sick days” (usually 3-5) and “vacation time”. I am asking everyone to prioritize. All the supporters heard Ron Paul say, “We’re at a crossroads and we have to turn it around soon.” We’re at a critical point. Is this going to be a weekend stroll to the National Mall to wave signs, hear speakers and purchase t-shirts and buttons or will it be something “major”, “a grand stand” where we march on the capital, “bang some pots and pans” and get congress and the media to listen to and notice us?? Are we going to send a message or not?? We have called, faxed, e-mailed and written to our representatives and senators and our protests against the continuous Constitutional violations, and the coming “police state” fall on deaf ears. It is apparent they have their own agenda and the “constituents be damned”. Marching on the capital tells them we’re not going away and we’re serious. They may have lobbyist groups behind them, but Ron Paul has a “Revolution” behind him

Here’s a feasible plan from a Public Relations perspective:

1). Weekday (non-holiday) march
- maximum media exposure.
- congress is in session.

2). End of May or early June to obtain the greatest numbers.
- utilize Ron Paul’s core college base.

It’s up to us, the grassroots, to make sure all of Ron’s points are covered. It is also up to us who care about Ron Paul and the message to make sure this event is even more memorable, historic and effective than the money bombs have been.

Let’s “Make a Grand Stand” and we’ll show them that the Ron Paul Revolution is here to stay!

Who will ever forget the image of Martin Luther King speaking at the March on Washington? If we can pull this off we will never be forgotten. Forget the questioning and reasoning... I Am Going, who is with me?

We can march in our capitols sometime in March to get the word out about the big one.

You can always point out a provocateur in a crowd - they are the ones who are riotous and encouraging physical violence. The best way to deal with them is embrace them. LITERALLY.

Every Ron Paul rEVOLutionary understands the enemy and knows the answer is always LOVE.

They can try all they want but the crowd understands the losers that work for the government and do this to create a false reality of the types of people who support true Constitutional government and much needed change.

My Mother-in-law is married to a strong supporter of Rolling Thunder. They ride down every year. The Pentagon puts out a giant sign welcoming them. Why I am sure many of the 600,000 are RP supporters, those who are not are foaming at the mouth jingoes! Beware.
She has listened to their speeches. Very angry. Yet anger not directed at the creators of Vietnam war.
Give them their time.

Who is paying for the porta-potties, and can I exercise my second amendment right to keep and bear arms to protect myself in the hell hole that DC is?

I am being facetious, or course, but I just wonder if those in DC will pay any attention, even if it turns out to be a million rebel march. Did Ron Paul even get a total of 1 million votes in all the primaries? Whatever came from the million mother march or the million man march?

I am really ambivalent about such an undertaking considering the logistics of it all; I guess at my age I am not sure I would endure the inconvenience and expense just to spit at the power establishment. Hell, I hear in the news that my Missouri drivers license may not even qualify as photo identification to get me on an airplane after Missouri did not adopt the new federal requirements in time.

I encourage you younger patriots to join in this march, but I think I will wait till the actual fighting breaks out to express my personal displeasure. Anything short of that just seems to be pissing in the wind.
